Zisteau – Minecraft :: Seek the Beast Ep. 6 – “Wizard Tower”

Foreign welcome back guys to seek the beast we’re back at spawn so the day has come it is the first of the month at least it is as of recording this right now and so that means that the jungle is no longer safe of course the spawn village here which

Isn’t much of a spawn village this is still safe and will remain safe for all time but we can’t really do much here we could make a little house and have some very basic minimal storage but that’s about it and um it’s kind of a mess to be honest

I think eventually i’m gonna come by here and help out prettying up the place because uh no one’s really done much i think this was originally going to be nebraska’s base right here before we told him he couldn’t make a giant base right at the spawn village

Uh but anyway jungle is no longer safe i have cleaned out my base all my solar panels industrial craft machines my tinker’s constructs stuff all my items they’re all gone all cleaned out and so we need to find a new place to go uh of course my cow wheat farm is still

Hidden out there and it’s still vulnerable it’s not in a safe area oh lordy lordy lordy it’s so hot i gotta fan myself off lori lori okay but anyway we have to get to we have to make a new house a new base and there is a new safe biome and it is

Swamp the new biome that is safe is a swamp that wouldn’t have been my first choice for a place i would want to build a base uh but we’ll make do um and that of course is only going to last until the 15th and then it as well will become unsafe

So i guess uh what i want to do is do some exploration and it’s going to be safe i’m just going to build out in the open and try to make something kind of cool now are all my bases going to always be in a safe biome i’m not sure probably

Not i’m probably going to start making more and more stuff that’s not safe as i get more established but we’re going to do a little bit of exploration see if we can find a swamp area to settle in that isn’t already mined out because i’m going to need some

More resources i’m going to keep gathering them and today we’re going to start looking into thumbcraft four i spent quite a bit of time with thalmcraft oh my gosh thumbcraft 2 in the previous feed the beast season and it is very different now or was it

For thumb craft three i’m not sure let’s stop here for a second look at this this is dom craft stuff this is a tainted land and this stuff spreads and i haven’t looked enough in the thumb graph to know okay okay i’m going sorry

I don’t know if we can fix it or if it’s permanent like if we can combat that spread that looks nasty and it is spreading oh my gosh all right i flew around for a little bit and i managed to run into a swamp not

Too too far away i had to travel a little bit across a small ocean but we’re we’re nowhere near the 2 000 block limit that we’re supposed to be building within so we’re going to call this base 2.0 and this place is going to be safe for two weeks two weeks and then

It will be raidable and i will abandon it at that point or i probably won’t try to defend this one at some point i will try to make defenses and defend one but not this one so i came here and i found this guy very convenient because it comes with

Its own ender chest and a bed and everything um has a nice little plot of land so i was thinking we could start with this but i want to build above ground and i think i want to redo this thing oh look there’s a sheep there i actually even

Found a few cows around here so uh that tells me nobody’s been here and i look down in the random dungeon down below excuse me uh nobody had been down there either and may be able to locate a more convenient ender enderman spawner uh anyway okay so uh

Let’s make this place into a new base and you know when i first started playing minecraft like three or four years ago however long it’s been a long time my my houses were always like these super tall towers they would be real tall and

Thin or not all of them but i would make them frequently and uh it was always kind of my favorite thing to do so i think i want to rebuild this dungeon tower uh but we’re gonna make it a little taller so the first thing i’m gonna do to this place

Is we’re gonna take this repairing pickaxe and we’re gonna completely raise this tower to the ground and start over we’re gonna make something a little bit more impressive upon which to base our our magical mysterious uh experimentations yep um you could even call it like a wizard

Tower there you go it’s gonna be a wizard tower all right there we go that’s a little bit more fitting for a wizard tower it’s sort of the stumpy weirdly shaped beginnings of one uh i’ve only done a little bit of it this is sort of just the bottom part

That you might live in i guess uh that you might start with i kind of think that you know a wizard is concerned with arcane energies and forces and stuff and their their mind isn’t really on physical things and so they wouldn’t build a tower in the same

Way that you know a structural engineer would it’s not very practical it’s not done the proper way if something’s gonna fall apart they’re gonna just hold it together with magic you know instead of building it properly so it’s it’s not perfectly circular it may lean to one side

Uh it looks a little weird and derpy it’s not symmetrical got this weird roof which uh it’s not symmetrical i still have the uh the only thing left from the old tower is the ender chest right there because i don’t have a touch pick yet i do have some spares which i

I will put down eventually so here’s my plan for this thing we’ve got uh we’ve got it for two weeks it’ll be safe from raiding for two weeks and i’m gonna make like rooms and towers it’ll probably end up being much taller than this

This is just as much as i’ve done but uh i don’t know exactly how big to make the rooms or how many we’ll need but we’re gonna be making them based on the kind of stuff we’ll need to make for thom craft and rs magicka and there’s another

One i can’t remember what it’s called off the top of my head okay but first thing we need to do we’re going to start with thumbcraft uh let me just grab these so i don’t have to keep digging in here okay we’re gonna start with thumbcraft now i spent quite a bit

Of my previous feed the beast season messing around with thumbcraft so i’m not going to do a lot of the research on camera but i will go through the basics so that you can kind of connect the dots to see what i’m doing so you can see right here i made some

Iron caps this is new from the last version this is how you make wands now so that is an iron-capped wooden wand right right and you right-click the bookshelf that gets our thumb and anominicon all right then we can right click it and as per before this is all the

Information you need is in here it has a different layout it works differently and there’s tabs now thomaturgy look at this and the lines are like waving back basic wand craft these are the ones i i’ve already unlocked i assume just by default copper wand caps

Oh no okay so they’re flashing i have not unlocked them i can just sort of see the direction i need to go in i guess uh if i click on this this will tell me about basic one craft i’m not gonna read any of this on camera

Uh but that those are the things you need to make it let’s see what’s down and these different things alchemy tells you about the crucible um that’s a cauldron and you click on it and then you need some fire beneath it to make it boil let’s see we already did this one then

We’ve got artifice this is like different items you make the goggles of revealing very important we’re going to make this guy the them nominator it’s gold and it looks like one of each type of char let me get the shards out these are all the shards i’ve collected i haven’t exactly been

Oh you know what is there a specific order i haven’t exactly been going after them this is the ones i’ve i’ve gotten by chance okay uh water fire water fire order earth air water fire order earth air water fire order earth um entropy do i not have air what am i

Missing oh they’re down there okay and then we need gold ooh did i not get the glass oh darn it crap crap can i still remember water fire order earth air heart by our powers combined we form captain planet okay uh i guess we’ll put that there so this is the new thermonometer

Enough to be able to do that yet so let’s look back in the phenomena con let’s look at gallimancy we need to make this guy we’re gonna make that a second research tables oh you know what i think i’m missing is the uh the pen and quill okay so here’s golomancy it’s flashing

So this must be the first thing you do tre meiji i don’t even know how to pronounce that word and we’ve got some kind of metal pipe crowbar thing and some strange language there and this is the bees if you want to do the magic bees if you like mess around with bees

Okay first thing we need to do there um we need to make a few of these guys right here tables i thought it was like that do we have to use oak i thought it is like that uh let’s see which one was it in here though here table oh okay

I was close so it’s like this like so okay we’re gonna need two of these and we’ll put those like that and then we need to make our little ink quill thing i wonder is that a shapeless recipe can i put these anywhere yeah okay shapeless put them anywhere scribing tools

And i wonder if you need these you also need paper in your inventory i know that let’s see if we can look at this now do we get any text floating up telling us anything still not getting it okay um we can make that and then let’s make another one of these no

That’s not right there we go okay now we have an extra one of those good and this is the research table as before you need paper in this slot we’ve got some air some water some fire some order entropy and terra earth oh okay we start with water

Oh no let’s just do one okay and then nothing oh look and we got we got something started wanfu guy okay um but i think we can learn stuff from this maybe i have to right click oh i have to right click that’s what i was missing okay right click

There’s text down there in the bottom right and it says you do not have all the knowledge required to understand this so okay so this is how this works and this is i think this is pretty interesting and cool these are the six basic aspects and they also correspond to the six

Different shards earth air fire water order entropy right so everything in the world is made from a combination of those aspects and there are other aspects that are combinations of these aspects think of it in terms of color right if you take red and yellow and combine it you get orange the

Aspects work the same way so what we need to do we need to find some items or blocks that are only made of those six basic aspects so that we can learn more complicated aspects see that gained one research point for tara and one for perdito and i wasn’t counting the number we

Already had but i think we come down here aspects have increased by one let’s see 19 14 14 19 17 17. let’s figure that out let’s see what happens here’s some cobblestone okay we got uh two for saxum we discovered saximum and one for perdito which one was perdito this one yeah this

Went up this was 17. now it’s 18. so you can get research points like that and then you spend those research points investigating this thing right here which is a little bit more complicated when it’s getting dark again um but first what i want to do let’s check this out

Okay so this mushroom is composed of at least one aspect which i have not discovered yet and so we’re going to see how now that i know this i look at it and we can see the aspects it’s made of uh what i’ll need to do

And i don’t have any knowledge for that yet either ignore that uh we’re gonna have to do some exploration and just basically walk around and click on things i bet this water is just water yeah i can definitely do that six points for water and can i do that again

No it looks like that’s one time use or maybe you just can’t do things back to back hmm don’t have the knowledge okay let’s try the chicken this is a very cool mechanic i really like the way this works stand still chicken cancel chicken

Oh you know what um i think we do have the mob aspects on i think it’s getting taken out of the uh the mod pack in the next patch for our ma for our for our mod pack should be just because it hasn’t been updated i think so let’s just forget

About him how about the wood just good old normal oak nope okay how about leaf blocks no okay so anyway this is going to be a bit of trial and error and so i’m going to do most of it off camera let’s come in here

See if i can find a dirt block this is a typical roguelike dungeon which i um have perched my base on it’ll be good uh hopefully we can find an enderman spawner and some other spawners dirt okay great two research points for tara so i’m gonna spend some time doing

This kind of thing saxon how about this hey ignis and fire nope okay so i’m gonna spend some time doing this and then we will try to research some things in the table once i have a decent stock of stuff built up okay so i’m back and you can probably tell from

Looking at me that i’m wearing different equipment except for the axe sticking out of the log on top of my head and that’s because i had a little bit of an accident um so what i did i updated the house just a bit added a waypoint it’s very nice it says wizard

Tower i should probably move it over to here though uh so this is what the little wizard tower looks like it’s almost as if the wizard came here and he made like a little tower or like a little house and then this is the chimney so this is our chimney right now it’s

Not much of a tower we’re gonna add stuff up there eventually and it’s going to sort of probably divert into different things but here’s what happened i was running around examining things with my thermometer and rubber wood you can’t do anything with but you can see pretty much

Everything i look at you can see what it’s made of and it took a little while at first to find things that i could use let’s see did i do this one yeah boat for water two tree for movement or whatever those things are actually called uh so i went down into the

Dungeon to try to find some different items and i ran into a creeper spawner i was lighting the thing up let me come back inside made a little house here by the way nice and cozy uh has everything we need right now we’re gonna need more than this we’re

Gonna end up adding up there but uh there was a creeper spawner creeper blew up i was blocking and then all of a sudden like a zillion explosions went off and i don’t know what caused it uh something to do with the dungeon those things are not to be traveled with

So all my stuff was gone it all got blown up by the multiple explosions they blew up the entities that dropped on the ground so all that stuff’s gone my nice pick that self repair is gone my sign that self repair is gone my man

Pants nano man pants gone two of my jet packs because i immediately when i respawned uh the i grabbed uh i spare a jet pack i went down to try to find it and died again and that’s when all the explosions happened um so two jet packs are gone

And i have a third jet pack in here totally out of charge and this one’s almost empty so that’s why i have four jet packs just in case of this kind of eventuality um so what this means is that i’m going to have to set up my industrial craft stuff

And my tinker’s construct stuff sooner than i anticipated i i wanted to sort of delve into this a little bit more but we have to set that up so that we can make new stuff and making new stuff shouldn’t be too bad i do have a lot of

Oars and other materials saved up so recovering shouldn’t be that bad and i’m gonna make a few pairs of man pants this time um and a few you know extra weapons extra picks things like that so uh i expect that to happen again those dungeons are very dangerous and this

Time it was not some kind of glitch uh genuinely just got owned in the face okay so uh but that’s neither here nor there we’ll work on that kind of stuff next time so you can see i’ve got a ton of aspects in here now you can look through all of them perforio

Promutatio some of these may be familiar victus if you’re familiar with thumbcraft from the previous series so anyway i’ve done a little bit of research i’ve only unlocked a few things i kind of got diverted by the catastrophe downstairs let’s see what i got i got research expertise and research mastery which

We’ll get into in a second um i got no not you i got the wand foci which we’ll get into in a future episode but it allows your wand to do different things and we’ll have to research these i think to be able to do anything with them

Um we’ll work on that another time i also got a great wood wand core so we’ll have to search down some great wood logs after i can actually recharge my jet packs because i’m about to be grounded uh but they let you store more vist

That’s cool um i don’t think i have any oh i got an aluminum which is like tnt basically i need this i want this to power my crucible uh to heat it so hopefully we can unlock that and let’s see i don’t think i unlocked anything here nothing there nothing there nothing

There okay so um the the research and i’m going to do most of this off camera the vast majority of it off camera in the future we’re not going to do episode after episode of it but for people who are wondering how it works it’s quite a bit more complicated

Than it used to be so you can see i’ve got all these aspects here these all came from researching things with my thermometer and i’m not sure how to get more of these without using my thermometer there’s probably a way possibly involving the cauldron like tossing items in

Near to my research table that’s probably how that works that’s how it used to work let’s just check crucible um yeah their component essentia i think that we’ll add it to our reese are available uh essential for research we may have to make the little jars first i’m not exactly sure several

Things have changed but anyway what you do is you have paper and the scribing tools you put something in here that’s flashing the ones that are flashing as near as i can tell are the ones that you have available to start research from in your current tech tree situation

Uh you can also combine them to try to make new ones but uh let’s just do this boom night or okay good this is what we wanted so this one’s pretty simple we’ve got this guy who’s already lit up and then this guy who needs to be lit up and we need to

Combine them now they get a lot more complicated than this um i’ve worked on some and got a little stuck you can see these are a little bit more complicated and it’s possible i don’t have all the aspects i need to research these here’s another one

Uh you can see this one is checked so this is um these guys right here these brain things these the ones that are flashing is cognitio and these are all x out because i tried to add them but they didn’t work let’s see i do have permutation now i

Think when i started this one i didn’t have this okay no so that’s not valid uh you see how some disappeared and this little herring red herring symbol here uh means that that’s a a false start that didn’t work and it removed some of these runes here’s another one which we’ve already done

So all of these are xed out which makes me think i don’t have the necessary uh i’m missing some aspect in my research for the destruction table let’s go back to the wand focus this one i think is just a little too complicated and i haven’t quite figured it out

Um but i will work on that off camera but just uh so you see how it works this one should actually be pretty simple and i need this for my crucible to to heat up my water okay so we know that fire is part of nitor already

Right because it’s already got the check mark so we’re going to go like that and that tells us that this guy um is available to as a rune to use to connect the flashy one to this one show we’re gonna do we’re gonna move this guy out of the way

And then we can’t move it when it’s flashing oh no we can oh we can excellent sweet sweet sweet okay and that gives us naitor now the reason i was able to move it while it’s flashing is because i had researched research mastery this allows you

To move an active rune a single position inactive rooms you can move farther that is super handy i cannot even begin to tell you how awesome that is and as you move runes your scribing tools runs out of ink and to fill them up you just uh

You base you basically do this if this was empty whoa what the heck happened i just had an application say it stopped running i hope that’s not important i don’t know what that was hopefully the recording is still working properly you can still hear my voice and see the

Screen everything anyway uh you just refill it like that okay simple very good so we got nitur and i think i’m gonna stick it right here if there’s a block under here oh there’s not okay um you know we could stick a block under there i think that’s fine

Yeah let’s go ahead and do that this is gonna be like my little beginner stuff and eventually i’ll have a more advanced area probably upstairs and we need a water bucket uh i think this is one of the things i lost when i died earlier

Did i only have eight diamonds oh no i made a block to research this see that has 12 crystally things and 12 possessive hand things uh we need a water bucket let’s make it daytime a new version of code chicken cause available that’s fantastical okay fill up our bucket

Okay uh let’s see we’re going to want some bricks right there that’ll do and then i’ll just put that right there yeah i need to put this thing down like that and did i already did i already investigate this cauldron yep okay let’s i think what i need to do

Now is right click on it gesh blinks and now i should be able to get some more research by doing this kapla look at that four precautio for fabrice fabrico four ordo and four metallum awesome so i want to do that and that’s going to start to boil

And then we need a fire source under there oh you know what i don’t think i’ve researched i don’t think i researched this either but i don’t think i researched flint and steel did i research this no i definitely did lava bucket but not water bucket what about or yeah not empty bucket

Either let’s uh fill this back up see if we can get some mojo going oh yeah i already did this one all right i did not do this one splinks awesome blossom pigeon possum let’s see can i do this one uh nothing to be learned from that okay

And that’s a no did i get a new note thaumium occasionally if you have paper and scribing tools in your inventory as you’re uh scanning things you can get research notes so that’s kind of cool what was i doing i kind of got distracted oh that’s right flint and steel um

I think i’ve already done this let me just double check yeah okay so let’s make a flint and steel and i definitely have not scanned that look at all that yeah more research points great um and i definitely haven’t done that either uh apparently i cannot yeah cause that’s showing the grass underneath

All right uh anyway let’s do this and then let’s look at night or did i learn it yeah knight all right so this is going to work kind of like before we need three fire three lux three energy and then i think we need to toss some glowstone dust oh crap what

Are you doing this is all wood you that’s why i wanted the knight to work because it wouldn’t set all this on fire let me uh put that out put that out thank you okay so i figured out what we need what we need is coal coal and torches let’s get that going

And that and we should oh we have to toss in you right oh no the fire went out darn it uh shoot did we lose all that or let’s see what happens here let’s wait for it to boil what happened nitor okay we did get the knight good

Now what i want to see now is if this will cause the wood to burn or if we can safely place our cauldron inside in our little little micro studio let’s see let’s get some of this stuff i’m gonna have to replace these i think it’s safe okay okay we’re just

Gonna assume it’s safe give me you hello break whoa oh okay flux taint flux taint watch out for that flux taint let’s put this guy inside so that’s the basics of how it works now it’s a little different than it used to be but not too hard to understand

Let’s see those are all slabs these are stairs right here so let’s oops great perfect let’s oh great okay let’s do this break that and there we go there we go and then we can place the cauldron there yes yes good don’t burn anything down that should burn eternally

I won’t have to worry about it oh by the way i did find another enderman spawner very close it’s very convenient if i run out of ender pearls making stuff doing research and i think there’s also a table i was looking through when i was i was

Looking for items to make the night tour uh what did i see what did i see i saw this okay arcane levitator uh we’ve got a ladder in here for now but eventually we’re gonna be floating up and down so the charging stuff shouldn’t be a problem but what i’m

Gonna do uh next time we’re gonna set up all of our tinker’s construct stuff and our ic 2 stuff industrial craft so that we can recharge our jet pack among other things and we’ll continue with the thumb craft hopefully get some fun things we can do
