Botanurgist (Minecraft Mage Quest | Part 43) [Feed The Beast 1.7.10]

Good evening and welcome back to mage quest i’m modi apparatus last episode we joined a brand new magical house of thumb craft centric house so we are going to be doing some quests for that today and then also looking at some of the botanists stuff we worked on

Last time as well so let’s get going all right so as i mentioned last time we worked on making our portal to elfheim and uh we were getting some of this cool uh where did it go here elementium ingots that’s right and what these take is two

Iron ingots i think we have to do man of steel actually so we have to turn in the man of steel first there’s a couple step process we turn him into man of steel and we take the man of steel and throw it into here and then we get one elementium back so

It’s a slow process we gotta do a bunch of it at once and actually we might just take all of his iron here and turn it all into elementium now what i found out between episodes here is that uh we were thinking that maybe we could bypass

Terra steel but terra steel is actually the more expensive metal uh terra steel is like this similar to diamond basically and this is like half of diamond so it is a step up from the man of steel armor we have right now even though it is heavily enchanted for the

Moment here um so that’s the one drawback is that our stuff is so enchanted but uh overall i think the defense bonus is gonna be worth it so maybe we should just do that and make some armor up and then we can worry about enchanting between episodes maybe

I’ve been working on getting some better books um as i mentioned or a couple episodes ago we worked on making the uh the man enchanter here and that lets us take any kind of books and they’re reusable and we can apply the enchantments uh from those books onto anything basically and

Uh so what i’ve been doing then is upgrading a bunch of books here so i have sharpness three i’m working on i have efficiency four working on getting protection as well protection three so if we get these up and level we can put add protection on every single thing we

Have but the only drawback is that we can only do i think we can do four enchantments total so that’s not that bad it’s just a matter of getting the books that are gonna be really really valuable um we found it we can’t to repair because that’s the thumb craft only

Thing uh and if you have a book that has multiple things on it it’ll only the top the top one so we can add punch to a bow for instance or we can add uh power four to a bow which is really really good i wish we get that fire

Aspect separate somehow but there’s other ways to enchant in this and i know that there’s one way in the thumb craft we can get to uh i might have researched it already but we haven’t done anything with it yet because we’re not quite even that far in thumb craft really uh which

Will make it good for our house that we’re doing now so actually what we’ll do now let’s first of all make this armor here so we’ll take uh all this steel i don’t think we’ll need yeah we might need we might need all 64. okay we’ll do a whole stack

There we go let it go look at it go there we go all right and then we’ll take all of it and get 32 back here let’s throw it all in there hopefully it does all at once it doesn’t waste it we’ll see what happens oh there it goes okay now they’re coming

Back out okay good it’s just gonna take a little time here oh those elves are so slow on that side it won’t take that long though let’s sit here and wait and then we can make ourselves some armor we can also get the helmet of revealing uh again um by

Combining the uh the goggles are revealing with the um the elementium helmet um there’s other cool stuff we can do with this too we can actually make a better mana spreader oh yeah we can make the conjuration catalyst too uh do we have pixie dust i don’t think we have

That yet but we might be able to get it with uh upgrading here life aggregator i think that increases our health i think it’s a like a uh regeneration bonus possibly the globetrotter sash is better than we have right now but we do need to get the

Guy a spirit now the guy’s spirit requires fighting a very difficult boss so we have to hold off on the next we haven’t fought any of the bosses yet we’ll have to do that very very soon ooh they’re out of bed for us bye frost ride of the bifrost oh

Now how do we get pixie dust okay so we get pixie dust by throwing in a man of pearl and get pixie dust back okay so that’s actually that bad we can actually get that now the rod of the bifrost what does that even do let’s take a look and

See in our book here what that even does and maybe we want that now let’s take a look here mr items elementium equipment ooh that’s right we could all we could make better stuff that way too oh um wait elementary pickaxe will destroy any cobblestone dirt in netherrack a leather

Maintain materials leave behind only the ores and find resources okay so that’s kind of fine by combining an element to pick us with a terror shatterer and crafting square allows for the ladder to also get this bonus this could not be undone okay so we could upgrade our

Terra shatterer to just basically delete dirt and cobblestone which at this point is probably worth it um let’s what do elementary axes do doubles as a weapon uh you get a decapitation bonus so this is a lot of the stuff that the uh tinker’s construct could do um let’s see we’ll dig

We’ll case the dog block wait the shovel will case the block dog is affected by gravity dig all blocks of that material above or below it no more gravel falling oh that’s really cool okay so this was the one i think we’ll definitely want to get because this is

Just a really good upgrade there’s all kinds of cool stuff these can do that’s really neat uh we can do elementium shears both they hold the ability to when held back like a bow shear any nearby sheep with a speed effect with speed within a large area of effect

Okay so we can like group oh man to be great for my my my sheep farm over there oh my god there’s so many cool things we need and the elementium sword has a chance of spawning a pixie uh so cool so we’ll get another one you can

Sword possibly now this is a six damage um and then uh elementary helmets chest plates leggings we’ll get this stuff today too so let’s uh let’s make some elementium stuff here we have 32 did we that’s all we got 29 it should have been 32. maybe it fell behind it

Wasn’t paying attention to looking at the book oh well not the end of the world we can still make oh there it is now we picked it up okay so we’ll make some pants we’ll make a shirt we’ll make uh the boots a helm and we’ll have a couple left to make the

Shears which will be really cool and um we’ll have a couple more left to do other things i don’t know we want the shovel we have to make the uh we’ll have to get the right sticks for that i don’t think we have the right things for that we need um

Dreamwood twigs which require dreamwood which require oh just throwing a living wood into a thing i think we can handle that probably uh let’s just throw a couple of those in there get some dream wood and dreamwood actually is used to make better mana spreaders also they

Basically are faster uh they send more at a single time but that might be really useful for our system here all right so let’s throw this together make a couple of these twigs definitely want this shovel though because that’s just a straight upgrade uh and we have silk touch on this one now

So that this isn’t too bad we can actually have another one here so here we go we got the elementium shovel cool now if you find some gravel it should dig all of it i’m gonna gravel around here of course i don’t we’ll find out about the second here i’ll find some to

Test it out on um we can also enchant it and stuff like that uh let’s try the elementary shears quick well we have it over here uh let’s go over to our our sheep farm and we’ll oh my gosh hello sir wow this guy’s gonna go fight him okay you

Go take care of it all right so we can we shoot all these guys at once i bet you this lag my game out completely oh it’s awesome that is so cool this is way easier than going around and sharing all these individually i don’t have room for all this wool

There it is okay we are picking it up so just like that we got all the what we could possibly need oh it’s got here so very cool let’s throw on our new armor here let’s put this arm off to the side for now and we’ll throw on our new

Stuff and see how it looks so uh let’s do this and throw our old armor off into here we’ll hang on to these for later we’ll need those when we get the full set of course because that’s when we get the bonuses now one of the bonuses for this is that it has

The chance of spawning a pixie when you’re hit i believe oh my god oh yeah i’m looking good now yeah that’s a good look that is a very good look all right so we got the whole full pink armor going on um very very nice so let’s go try out

The shelf here quick i want to see how this is nice and working um let’s see i’m gonna travel around here head down until you see something i think this is about to stop which there’s some around here someplace don’t have any torches or anything like that here we go

It’ll get anything above and below it just like that okay so let’s try this one here oh cool now only does it get above and below it doesn’t do side by side but that’s really really cool that’ll be really useful um and i don’t necessarily need to still

Touch on this because you can get a little more uh a little more flint and that kind of thing because there’s there’s uses for it still more uses than gravel probably all right let’s drop some things off here clear out a pack and then we’ll start doing

Some thumb craft quests i wonder how many of these we can fly through today all right so let’s grab our through nomicon out and our quest book here and then let’s take a look and see what we can do next so uh let’s take a little

Look at what’s next to come here we’ve done the thumb craft path of through nomicon now we have nighter and aluminum they say that the mysterious knighter is brighter bright but cool but cool flame of isabel cool flame that emits with little heat but alchemical properties of this flame are quite vast

On the other hand elementum is a very hot flame that burns for what seems like an age and a half alright so we need to make a nighter and make an elementum i think all it is is a detection task though so that should work and then we just need some aluminum do

We not have any it’s been a long time since we’ve made any of that so let’s take a look here quick and get refreshed on the recipe for that requires ignis partitio and potentia into a crucible we can take that upstairs actually do it uh and we’d

Have to throw coal into it so let’s grab some coal and i think that coal has just about everything we need in it as potentia and of ignis so we can actually just grab a couple pieces of that and that should be able to make the stuff we don’t have we

Don’t have it uh let’s draw this let’s throw this into the box here too why not all right so let’s head back up here and we’ll take a look at our our alchemical construct here i’ve been using it to make oh i’ve been using it to make like extra gold and extra iron

But i don’t run out that’s what all this is about i’ve been melting down armors and that kind of thing and i get lots of different aspects off of it depending on what it is uh so what do we have in here do we have

Okay first of all we need ignis we have a song and do we have uh for this show i’m sure we have tons of yeah and we have i guess on the back here yeah we have one slide in the back and we need potentia here it is

Very cool all right so we got the three things we need to make elementum actually let’s make a bunch of it because it’s useful there we go takes three for each we might actually have enough to make three uh three of it just only makes one each

So it’s gonna take a little bit of a little bit of our stuff here but we can get more of it that’s not a problem because actually you can make it from charcoal i believe also so that’s four i’ll complete the detection task rather and we can knock out one more quest here

So we’ll get uh three of each or three three and two uh so that’s cool we got six there let’s throw these into here for later never know we’re going to need them and then we’ll take a look at the next quest here which is the magical metal

Our first crafting your first thalmium uh there are quite a few uses for this particular metal so many that it would be highly advisable to make several of them m m make some thumbium before you go crazy with what you can do once you have have

It i’ll send you a few things lex alright um so we get a thumbium sword and then one of these other items i don’t know what we might want maybe ethereum pickaxe we can make another one of the uh the pickaxe of the mantle or whatever

Picks up the pickaxe of the core rather i keep always saying mental mantle uh is it a detection task per chance well it doesn’t even matter i don’t even have any uh i’ll leave for this is just some iron and we’ll just need some uh bricante oh

That’s not right that’s fine we’ll make five of it i’m almost out of iron but i did make some more here downstairs so we’ll just grab that if we need it and then we’ll need this and we’ll need this we’ll take these off i’ll put this on oops all right there

I’ll put this here don’t put this here and make it okay so actually oh all it takes is for candy okay cool we’ll use this up then i thought it’d take metal too but i guess it already has the metal built into it so it doesn’t need that

Very good okay let’s clean all that up there is the four there’s the five okay and we’ll just leave this back over here for now actually let’s just let’s throw these over here i think anything else there we go and one more i should find a better way

To organize this but we’ll figure out later all right so we have the thumbnail now all we need to do is select our reward i think take a look manual detect 10 ah i wasn’t thinking there should have read ahead oh well it did say we need a lot

Of them so uh i should have been paying attention to that fact um there’s our iron we’ll grab that back out head back upstairs and use the rest of that precaution not good at pronunciating things and not good at saying pronunciation there we go okay so now we can make uh

Let’s see one two three four five we won’t make any more than we actually need here but let it do its thing here for a moment and we’ll be uh grabbing what’s done and we got our first domino we get to choose our thumbnail pickaxe

And now we need a great wood log another detection task so that’s actually pretty easy to do let’s read what this one says they say there’s two types of trees that can be used in place of wood for your one one requires additional components to make it useful for construction of the wont

Core but i think we can get the first one on first one into an upgrade for the one okay so we’re gonna make an upgrade for our one which we’ve already done in the past year but we’ll get some silverwood logs here wherever they might reside

I’m sure i have if you sit around here someplace there we go and wand upgrade one so we need to make a great wood rod and for that we’ll need great wood that could be a bit of an issue take a look here quick there’s some okay let’s grab one

I think that’s all we’ll need i don’t think something’s rattling around in here uh to make a great wood rod it is just let’s see here quick no not there let’s see great one there it is two blogs so we need one more actually forgot to grab that i had a feeling it

Was two i wasn’t sure though sorry we got two we’ll make the rod and then we’ll make the caps also because i think that’s the next quest we’ll do all right great wood rod and now bond upgrade two silver wood rod okay man we gotta do that

Too grab that out i think it’s the same way right or does it require additional steps it did say it requires additional steps so here let’s take a look here quick at the book now that book this book and we’ll save for silverwood one core

Oh it takes one of each of those things so there’s an infusion okay so we need to do that quick here then so back to the infusion alter then we need one of each of the uh shards hopefully we have a balance shard here already made i don’t know if we do

Only one of each so let’s go one two why are we out of fire why are we out of fire well here’s some we can just grab this and break it there we go get those back and we’ll actually throw away that we don’t need that we do need this

Uh we don’t need these right now or this right now all right so we’re ready to do our infusion we just need a balance shard oh boy okay let’s take a look and see how to make those again it is any kind of shard into the five

Elements that create it okay well we need to uh make that quick here unless i’ve made some ahead of time put them someplace special nope and nope so i should have thought ahead of here and made that but we’ll make it quick we’ll do the infusion and we’ll have our rod

Uh for uh the silverwood rod all right fusion is just finishing up here for the great wood wand or great wood rod there we go or the silver wood rod rather that’s what we’re working on here which we already have made in the past already so i didn’t feel like we need to

Really show it on camera here but um yeah so now we should be finished with that part of the quest here for the detection task uh and we get ooh balance charts yes we’ll definitely want those but we get those we get either way so we don’t have

To pick we can just get the reward bag and oh five ironing is that’s actually not a bad reward uh compared to some of the other stuff we get here so that balance shards are huge we’ll definitely need those in the future here um and what else do we can

Do today let’s take a look here quick and see what other quests are on the docket there is the forge oh this is something we never made um yeah let’s do this so uh we have to make the forge the another forge i believe it’s called and

We can make the triple me treat to show that we’ve made it here so let’s take a look i don’t think we’ve actually unlocked this in our thing yet here uh infernal furnace i believe is what it’s talking about here this is going to create a little bit of flux for us a

Little bit of a warp uh we need scribing tools and paper which i can actually show off something that’s uh one of the new additions to botania actually is the boat energists we inkwell which basically is like uh the man is the steel weapons but it also will work for um with ink

For thumb craft so hopefully it works here we’ll take a look and see i also have the uh scribing tools in my pack here too so we’ll see which was uh more effective here actually we should probably change this out for this and we’ll take this and put it over here

But as you can see this basically recharges with mana so um we just throw this on a mana pool and it charges up and uh yeah let’s give it a shot and see if it works sometimes it’s working sometimes it’s not um let’s take a look and see if it’s working today

There it goes and we had it we did get it okay cool so it uses that instead of using ink a little bit cheaper to make then those we’re going to get any good now we have to make this little puzzle here but i’m getting pretty quick at

Least so i’m just going to do it on a camera quick here i’ll do this we’ll go this is i don’t know do we see it don’t see that too often here uh we’ll go like this ordo out of that there’s ordo from this that’s this is yeah we got that uh and

Then this is like so that’s also ordo and then we’ll just throw another one of those in there for good measure okay so that’s that and then we need to get from fire to this which we can go potentia and then uh fire from that and it doesn’t matter we pick there

Anything that we have a lot of what takes fire locks let’s do that we never use locks all right so infernal furnace let’s research it and get the data and we have a permanent warp we’ve gained permanent warp now all right great uh so we did unlock some new

Things though the arcane bellows we didn’t have a lock before um so that’ll be good we have that now so to make the infernal furnace we need to find a good spot for it first of all because it takes a lot of different things to pick the netherrack bricks obsidian some iron

Bars and some lava in the middle now don’t look we have any lava on us so we’re going to grab a bucket and go grab some quick we’ll also need some another rack we have some of that here i think we’ll need like 12 of this we’ll need some obsidian

To have that here we’ll need bars what are cavity ah there we go and we’ll need a bucket of lava there we go okay let’s head down to the mines here grab a bucket and then we’ll find a good spot to put our infernal furnace

All right so i think what we’re going to do is put the infernal furnace out here on the balcony actually uh let’s put it like right here and to do this we just got to make a plus sign out of obsidian surrounded by another rack and then for the second

Level i think it’s basically inverse correct no it’s not it’s still the same and then we put the iron bars there instead then we need an empty space on top that’s okay all right so we’ll put uh like so we’ll go like bam bam bam iron bars here

And then finally we need the top to be open to the sky the center will be anyways and then it’s just the same pattern as before okay so uh same thing two three four and then we’ll put in this like so i’ll finish it out i should complete the structure

If we can get out of here and then we need to tap with the wand that has 50 of fire and earth in it i believe let’s double check that quick here fire in earth 50 and we’ll tap it with the wand because i do have enough to do

Oh we need to put the lava in the center that’s right that’s one thing we’re missing okay let’s jump up there quick grab that uh i’m not gonna get up there okay click this guy’s a little bit a lot of it that was that was fun uh there we go oh god no

No jeez to water please oh oh my god get to the water get to water i don’t have my fire protection on this yet so i was going to burn alive if we didn’t uh careful there oh my gosh all right let’s get back up here

Right now i think we’re ready to tap this to the wand and be done with it there we go look it’s beautiful uh can we scan this too nope nope nothing to be learned from this okay so now we have that completed next we need to make the triple meat

Treat which uh not regular books so we need the thumb nomicon and we’ll go into here and what do we need to get the triple me treats with i think this doesn’t have an interface right oh geez that’s not right let’s look and take a look here quick and see how we

Actually use this all right so it looks like we need to smelt things we need to put it in the top and then they pop out the front so i think we’ll need one of each of the meats that’s involved here hopefully i have those downstairs i’m not sure if i

Do we’ll need one chicken we’ll need one raw pork chop one raw beef and then one raw chicken i don’t know if i actually have raw chicken well we’re going to go in a little hunt then find chicken unless there’s a way to make it hold on a second here

Is there a way to make chicken there is mutandus plus raw beef mixed chicken okay that’s even easier we’ll grab an extra raw beef and make ourselves a chicken rather than actually go grow one from the environment because uh you know what genetically modified foods they’re good for you apparently

Um genetically modified oh this is genetically modified but if you’re turning beef into chicken it’s probably not the best uh source of it um so we’ll oh there’s raw chicken right here okay we don’t have to do any crazy practices to uh make the beef into chicken like that um

Let’s take it back upstairs and cook it up in the thing so it does say it takes some time if you know we need to wait wait to get up there easily let’s do this so we don’t fall back in again look like this all right so we throw stuff in the front

And it comes out the the uh or through the top and it comes out the front we just throw a bunch of things in there at once i wonder we’ll find out oh it says to wait okay it’s waiting it’s just cooking it oh well that’s not fun

I thought i would make chicken nuggets how do i make chicken nuggets well there has to be a way to get those let’s see here quick if the books has any tips for us here uh let’s see forge doesn’t say how to get chicken nuggets um well that’s not useful

All right so a little research quick and there’s no real trick to it it’s just something that happens occasionally when you cook meats in the infernal furnace here so i think what we’ll do is just throw in some chicken until we can uh manage to get a couple nuggets i think

We need three nuggets total i want to say for uh making what we want to make here takes a little bit of time to do this though we need to supply with some ignis i think oh there’s our first nugget oh my god okay so if we use this we can

Make the triple me treat with sugar so um all we need to do is cook the other meats up here and let’s give it some ignis if we can it’s upstairs still let’s grab it because that’ll make it a little bit faster if we can do that uh there it is

And head down this way and we’ll need a pipe also a directional no just regular essentia tube and we’ll leave this over here for now and i think it looks like we pump it into the side here possibly looks like there’s a hole there is there one on this side too

There it is we’ll try it we’ll see how this goes uh like so that seems to have done the trick might be going a little faster now let’s take a look and see so we’ll need just one of each then so we can just throw one in at

A time until we get we’re after and we’ll need one for each of the meats and then we’ll need a sugar cane to make it to sugar and did we get a nugget there not yet all right we’ll eat this the snack to replenish our hunger while we’re doing all the cooking here

So let’s keep throwing in beat raw meats until we get all the nuggets we possibly could need come on pork nugget and that looks like it we got it and we don’t have room to pick it up of course we’ll leave this here all right we’ve got the three meats and

We need one sugar cane so we can finish this whole thing off here and sugarcane will be in here for sure if nowhere else uh here it is so let’s just drop off a carrot instead of this here take this and we’ve got a triple me treat

Bam all right i think that should do the trick here for this hopefully it is and let’s take a look here my game kept crashing on me i was trying to get chickens caught here uh okay so i got the forge complete meaty goodness claim the reward we’ll get a random reward bag

And very cool so uh let’s drop off some of our random stuff here oops and we’ll finish up this last quest i think on our docket for now and that should be good okay let’s throw away some arrows to be good now we can use the reward bag and see what we get

We got cave spider legs so that’s fine we’ll use those for our projects over here our nefarious deeds we can do and then the last project is to make a gold cap wand so we’ll just need a let’s see we need oh that’s not right

Let’s see one of these right no two of these there we go and turn them into nuggets just like this oh we need to we need the wand too so we need the actual uh palm craft arcane table here and our wand should be pretty well stocked oh yeah for sure

There we go we got our two caps and a gold banded great wood wand so all i need to do for that is put those together with this like so and we need our great wood to pour back out of here whatever that went off to oh it’s upstairs actually that’s where

It is so let’s go take this upstairs here and there it is all right let’s finish off this last quest here we can fly right through these things oh yeah done and done and shards please thank you very much and let’s see what’s in this last reward

Bike here redstone that’s not great all right so i think that’s uh all the main quests here covered up for now we got a new set coming here oh we got this one covered already now that you have this shiny one with beautiful dark wood let’s

Put it to use to make some snazzy looking goggles i just made these because i made ourselves an element uh lltm miller revealing here so we got that one done already too and we can get uh whatever shards we want i’ll just pick fire um and then the uh

Wow okay we got we did this already so at least we have to do this and then craft all the jars oh man so we’re going to do wait oh we just have to craft 15 jars not like actual like fill them with things okay we’ll look at this like next time

Here shouldn’t be too much touch of a task too tough to be too tough of a task to finish up a lot of these things here pretty quickly uh we’re pretty advanced in thumb craft hopefully it gets a little more in-depth than this but uh we’ll see

If it doesn’t we’ll uh do some other cool stuff with them crap there’s lots of stuff i have planned uh we haven’t like captured any nodes yet or anything like that so we have to definitely do that soon i got some ones picked out that i want to steal and bring back to
