Building in Minecraft large biomes Episode 1

Well hello there I am Tom B92 and today we’re trying something new this is Minecraft as you all know it but this is large biomes I’m drawing something new with this series I am making a building series and it’s going to be something different for me because well I enjoy

Redstone so much I enjoy Automation and well I’m gonna try and set myself some challenges for this series in that I am going to reduce all of the automation which is why I have started getting off some manual farms around here I’ve got my sugar cane growing and we’re going to

Continue to expand that we’ve got our farming area of carrots potatoes and wheat we’ve got pumpkins we’ve got cows we’ve got sheep you know I got rid of all that mundane boring stuff day one stuff that you know no one’s really interested in now large biomes actually possesses a number of challenges in

Itself the large biomes are kind of I think it’s 16 times the original size of the normal biomes you can see I’ve been an adventure and I found myself this lovely area of mountains around a river and well everything around here is planes and I think there’s a meadow just over there

But all these biomes are massive and what that presents building challenges in itself because well I only have Birch and Oak and we don’t have any science hello horse hello horse face coming into my talk we don’t have any dark oak we don’t have any Acacia or Mangrove or

Jungle and well they could be thousands tens of thousands of blocks away and and that’s what makes this quite an interesting challenge we could be relying upon the wandering Trader to Come Away with some saplings or we may have to go on a really really really long adventure tens of thousands of

Blocks away to try and find the builds and the blocks that we need now I have pillaged a number of villages you could probably see from what I’ve just wandered around Villages seem to be very common there’s just two in my view from here there’s one over in that direction

Not too far away way and I’ve probably you know pillaged everything possible that I can get from there you see that I’m on level 24 and honestly I haven’t even been underground all this is from is from resources I’ve been able to get on the surface and also killing lots of

Cows and and sheep and you know being cruel to animals promise that will continue it will continue I will be killing these cows um but yeah look how much coal we’ve got that’s all just from the surface we’ve started taking the workstations and I’ve got a fair amount of wood

And hay bales I think I’m set for life every village seems to have Stacks and stacks of hay bales and we’ve got a ton of meat to keep us going now I do want to get resource Gathering I try to stay away from that so you know I could do a

Bit of an introduction so here’s my introduction now I’m gonna go and cave and honestly you don’t want to see Kevin do it Kevin’s boring so let me go and spend a you know do that YouTuber thing I’m gonna go and do some off camera Mining and we’ll see what we have on

Return we’re finally made it back to our base and yeah easy lost all my levels that I had and yeah we got killed by a creeper it’s not the first time I’ve been killed but I had a bed down with me and I’d set my spawn down there so I

Lost my spawn point now what have we got well not not a great deal really and I need to use this iron now and I need to get that smelted up so maybe I can get some iron gear and head down and I’m probably just gonna dive

Deeper I’m gonna try and get myself some diamonds now one thing that I’ve been thinking about for diamonds in this series is that they are going to be a redstone tax so as I said I don’t want this series to be built around automation but the likelihood is there

Will be at some point some Automatic Farms whether that’s pumpkins sugar cane gold iron you know something will happen so I’m thinking I need to impose a diamond tax and I will just discard the diamonds and yeah delete them from the game as punishment for automation let me know

Finished caving and I ran into my friend the warden I really really hate the warden especially in a Solo world and then you can you know lead him around but I hate it and so I really really hate it the the atmosphere that the developers created with the warden yeah

It’s scary and I really hate losing my stuff I’ve worked myself up to level 31 and these are all the goodies that I’ve managed to collect I’ve managed to get myself 16 diamonds which is more than enough for me now to get my first diamond tools and I made a comment

Earlier about the wandering Trader and he came he came to visit I was up here farming and he came to visit and well he he had nothing he had absolutely nothing for me uh other than like a pink tulip or something like that so that’s a real

Shame because we could have utilized him for some different saplings I’m hoping next time he comes along he’ll bring something useful for me so I can now make myself a diamond pick and we also have enough gear two set up an enchantment area so I actually managed to find a ton of

Obsidian whilst I was coming out to this area on my Adventures so I actually have more than enough to get a enchanting table and I could also if I really wanted to and I might uh set up another portal now as you’ve probably guessed from my hatred towards the warden I’m

Not really a big fan of the nether you know everything in there just wants to kill you and I may just set up the nether because well if I do die it’s a really really really really long journey over here with large biomes there’s lots of mountains to Traverse and it’s over

3000 blocks away so I might just try and find a spawn point and set up another tunnel in there back to spawn just in case we do die and we can find our way back home now something else I want to do is actually go and start working with

Villagers now I’ve said there’s going to be no Automation and I meant that with the scent of redstone Farms but I didn’t mean that with villagers and we want to get trading with villagers because I want to get some golden carrots and I want to get golden carrots to use these

Guys I want to start breeding up some horses because it’s probably going to be quite some time before we can go and attack the stronghold and attack the Ender Dragon so if I can get a horse I can get around a bit I might be able to

Go and find some new biomes and have an adventure and obviously that’ll be quicker than what I’m doing currently by walking around so yeah we’re going to get cracking on a few other things I need to plan out a few builds I think you know it’s looking uh pretty pretty

Minecraft 2012 isn’t it and well it may continue to look like Minecraft 2012 because all I’ve got is Oak and Birch some Cobblestone bit of calcite because I managed to find a geode and cobbled deep slate so this is pretty much all I’ve got for building blocks at the moment maybe

Yeah maybe we’ll have to venture out and figure something out but for the for the near future that’s all we’ve got so what should we get on with her should we get an enchanting set up let’s uh I already crafted the bookshelves I’ve got 15 bookshelves obviously this is going to

Be temporary because well we’re gonna hopefully put it somewhere nice I’m not gonna go here because there’s every possibility I’ll extend the sugarcane this way so how about we just put it down here because this is actually where our cave and entrance is we’ve created a long staircase down there into the minus

58 is kind of where I am at so something like this for the enchantment table there and that’s right isn’t it too there something like that and we should get level 30. perfect so I’m gonna have a play around with that see what I can get and I’m also going to utilize those

Rails that we got from our mining session we managed to get this lot from an abandoned mine shaft so we can probably travel over some of the villagers get them breeding I don’t want to utilize too much of my stuff it may be that this whole area ends up becoming

Farmland because I want to do everything manually either way let’s uh check in in a few I don’t know minutes hours for you it’ll be a couple of seconds won’t it because we’re just gonna go to sleep and then wake up on a new day and we have

Been busy everything has had a shift around and an expansion we’ve got a bigger crop field bigger sugar cane bigger pumpkin back here and some villagers and I have to admit I had some absolutely great look with this normally finding books the right villager books can take forever but we have mending

I didn’t really know whether I wanted this but it came around pretty easily so we kept that same with protection for I didn’t want to have a massive book selection from The Librarians but when they came up so quickly and so easily it’s hard to say no we’ve got fortune 3

Which is brilliant we’ve got a silk touch and an efficiency five and look how cheap an efficiency five book is I don’t think I’ve ever seen an efficiency five book cheaper than that I also have these three in there up to the golden carrot trades this guy is giving us well

I’m giving him sticks for emeralds and well you can see and my inventory here we have managed to get a decent set of diamond gear we’ve got a fortune 3 foot efficiency four I haven’t got an efficiency five book on this but we’ve got that sorted we’ve got

A good ax I haven’t upgraded my shovel but we actually had a good role on the enchantment table with the diamond boots and got protection 4 and depth Strider three so I can add a feather fall in four on there we’ve got a couple of villagers ready but with golden carrots

To hand with horses in the area they sent a free cam we have plenty of horses around I think it’s time we actually you know do what this whole series is about and um yeah let’s put a build up I’m thinking we’re going to start with a

For the uh horses now what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna go to sleep and the build is going to look something like this we’re gonna go to sleep and it will look very very different around here well unfortunately I felt ill not long after finishing the time lapse and

Finishing that last clip so yeah you can kind of see everything around here is very different inside the Stables we’ve got ourselves a load of horses however there is now a brand new update 1.19.4 and in there are some improvements to horse breeding so I’m not going to get too involved with these

Guys right now I think I’m going to update the world for the next episode and we’ll get dug in with those now as I said I did fall ill I had fortunately had a really nasty chest infection for a kind of a week 10 days or so but I

Couldn’t tear myself away from the world I wanted to keep myself busy when I felt well unable to and well we’ve done a lot of moving so everything previously was up here my sugar cane pumpkins villagers were over there and now everything is tucked away down here and I kind of wish

I did this from the start I really really do wish I did this from the start everything is down here nice and compact got myself a little storage room I’ve started to organize and got some Cactus which I’ve managed to get off the Wonderland Trader I can’t remember

Whether I recorded that but also what I have done is behind this Stables as started to do a little bit of terraforming with the basic blocks that we have just kind of got this nice little grass Mound around here now one thing I really am a culprit of in

Minecraft is destroying the landscape and flattening everything out to build so one thing I want to do this series is use some of the natural terrain but also try and Elevate some builds try and get some stuff at different height so we’ve got this stables at this level and I

Have a build planned for this episode I did say before I did the last time lapse I had three builds in mind but you see I’ve got still got a bit of a frog in the throat as you might call it so I’m gonna get this area complete and

I think we’re gonna call it an end of the episode I really hope everyone is enjoying this content it’s something different from me what I want to try and do with this series is actually just play Minecraft I just want to get back to the roots of playing Minecraft so a

Haven’t been in there so we’re going to do that right at the end of the episode so one thing we’re going to do now is we’re going to finish up the area I have a build in mind we’re going to do some tidying up maybe a bit of landscaping

That’s intentional because at the moment I don’t really know what I want to do with this build I don’t quite know where we’re gonna go I have marked off a path down this way and that way and that way because well all these hillsides that we’ve got

Around this area I want to use different styles of build and it would be nice to try and blend that in one way or another and let’s just head through some of this Farmland obviously we’ve just got loads of Wheat and I’ve managed to miss a bit

There it’s always handy to see but heading through here I’ve tried to make a little car area so we’ve got the car picking up the Wheats obviously we’d have Farmers picking up the wheat and second in the car in the bundles and then we’ve got the little crane coming

Off the back of the build here and going into some storage in there for the horses and yeah I guess it makes sense we’ve got the windmill we’ve got the wheat fields got a cart here in the fields that I’ve tried to play around with some of the

Ground behind it try and make it look like you know it is going through the land and then you’ve probably just seen the Torches we’ve got torches on top of the water sources to keep it illuminated normally my old trick is throwing in a scarecrow but I didn’t really feel like

That fit the vibe of the area so we’ve left that out another car over here and yeah we’re pretty much done and dusted for today I’ve got a little custom tree here and another custom tree over there I did try to put another big custom tree over there but I’ve got fast

Leaf Decay on on the on the world and well it didn’t go well and it took me too long to realize that was what was happening and yeah oh yeah I’ve just had this Goat as well just randomly appear I think because we’ve got a mountain or a

Meadow somewhere over there he’s just kind of drifted along and he’s he’s now part of the crew but once I was putting some of that together I actually had a very very good visit from the wondering Trader may be the best visit we’ve had yet and obviously zombies are getting

Close to our villagers but I’ve made a little wandering trade of pacquia and look what we got we got pointed drip Stone we’ve got a fern we’ve got Mangrove propagules and we got packed ice from one Trader all of that from one Trader absolutely fantastic and obviously the training with the
