Can I Beat Minecraft In A 100% Ocean Biome World?

Hello I’m Abigail X toy cat and I’m about to load up Minecraft in a world that is 100 ocean biome that is the biome not the feature so it’s only going to be the biome where no trees spawn where finding food is near impossible and most importantly where it’s mostly

Water can you beat Minecraft on these conditions the theory should be yes the practice might be a bit more painful but I’m looking forward to doing it today and seeing if we can survive in the watery worlds and uh indeed I think mostly the challenge is going to be the

Early game right because you know as far as like once you get to the never in the end it’s very similar in these single Bond worlds but getting anywhere started in a while that looks like this is a little bit more challenging I mean seriously look at this world you can see

That it’s grass actually wait yeah okay this is my only source of food I’m gonna break these so I get seeds wow what a good seed I should share this for seed Sunday um but yeah most of all oh never mind actually yeah that’s a that’s a shipwreck right there problem solved so

As you can see this is part of the ocean biome do you like my Cape by the way I think that I think they’re celebrating something uh right now but I know it’s controversial and so my plan is to is to wear the controversy and see how many uh

Fun comments that attracts so the chest has nothing in it which isn’t very fun and I guess this is a source of wood if nothing else actually doesn’t even look like that’s working okay so anyway yeah the goal today is can we do it let’s find out so yeah hello everyone I’m ibx

Standard now is for things to be very edited and that has a lot of benefits but I also think sometimes you just like I I kind of just would just want to see something what does it actually like to survive in a world like this and I guess

We’ll be finding out so there’s lava over there I’m lucky enough to see and there’s another shipwreck over there and there’s dolphins and fish okay fish are a better food source than seeds All Things Considered so we could go for a little fish killing session once we get

A stone sword and getting a stone sword should be easy because stone is all the way underwater but also right here in this weird crack I guess we’ll use the crack regardless and let’s go for it so um where are the trees says uh banicula you don’t find trees in the ocean

Planets the craziest thing speaking of the craziest thing thank you for the first tip of the stream Matrix gachaverse what an interesting name that is so uh yeah let’s quickly make ourselves a wooden pickaxe and let’s mine and do the this this is my favorite standard Minecraft maneuver it’s the

Tech Rush right you just wanna you wanna get all the way up in there and the attack as fast as you can and so we’re gonna get some coal because we’ll need that for some form of smelting later and we’re gonna get enough Cobblestone to do

Some smelting so that we don’t just get regular fish we get a decent supply of cooked fish once we’ve got cooked fish under our belt we can still actually wait what is down here oh we can actually get down here because of the magma too so once we’ve got cook fish

Under our belt it might be worth uh looking for some iron down here you know there might be some caves in the above wild but because it’s an ocean biome we can expect to see a lot of stuff like this and so going up to iron might be a

Worthwhile decision but for now we’re not going to think about it too hard instead making a stone sword quite crucially and maybe a stone shovel to you know that that seems good enough to me a decent set of stone tools a uh which we’ll put all the way over here on

The left and uh already we’ve got some fuel for a furnace over here how nice that is so let’s go into the ocean and do some fun stuff might be smart to keep a block of magma yeah it would definitely be smart to keep a block of

Magma you know actually yeah if it if the game is being so generous as to give me magma right now I don’t know what it’s doing here in this random cave but let’s let’s just let’s let the game give me the good thing uh right there because

You know in an ocean having magma is surprisingly useful it drags you down sure but look at this it also feeds you oxygen who who doesn’t love being fed Essentials for life also speaking of Essentials for Life kill myself a Cod so yeah killing Cod is an option I’d rather

Kill big salmon though so uh you know as much as I love big salmon like all things that you love you’ve got to kill it when you’re done with it and so I am going to go right here get the salmon done and then maybe the small salmon too

Also there’s drowned so we can get wrong flesh as well so the food sources aren’t as disparate as you might think and that’s that’s quite a fortunate thing however if we’re wasting love our hunger on on that it’s probably not gonna go so well so

Um yeah we are going to try and get uh chopped down some wood now um I guess ideally I should have a stone ax for that so oh God I must have punched okay I thought it was the dolphin you know I can deal with punching a drown we’re punching a

Pastry and because I went to a cashier I didn’t even lie and say that my chocolate croissants were regular croissants you’d be so proud of me chat I’ve finally moved on past this whole uh past this whole phase of getting things cheaper at little anyway so we’re going

To cook just the littlest bit of food just the tiniest bit right here um actually we’ll throw this in first then this and then we’re gonna cook up our iron and then we’re gonna try and make a bed actually okay so Chad sleeping is not an essential but it is

Always a big Plus in a world like this it’d be nice if we could work out a way to do that but I’m not expecting it as a guarantee so we’ll cook and salmon that’s that is what it is and salmon and then we’ll um after we’ve got a second one I guess

We’ll wait for the third and then we’ll go full iron on this and and then we’ll kill some more food while we wait for the iron so should be nice and easy uh free Iron let’s go so it’s getting very dark very right now already a little bit

Concerning but shouldn’t be too hard because look at this big salmon coming for me um so um it’s like yeah are you having a very yes day I am having a very yesterday I’ve been excited about this one for a while the ocean only challenge is one of the also oh Something’s

Happened to me here okay the ocean only challenge is one of the ones I’m excited about because all I know about this is I’ve seen the end and I know that like there is a surprising amount you can’t do in an ocean and I like that limitation of knowing yeah just having

The water here oh this salmon is so tiny I forgot just how small they got on Bedrock but they still dropped a bone by the way um but yeah I think um I think any challenge where you’re limited is always going to be that no extra layer of fun

And this is going to allow me to learn more about oceans because I think myself even I can pretend like I know that an ocean is made up of lots of stuff but I don’t know precisely what where why how Etc also we might have to throw a stick

In there just to keep things going yeah there we go come on Stick get it to the end get it to the end right there oh oh oh yeah perfect okay that’s all we need now let’s take this and let’s go make an iron ax and then let’s go find some real

Wood because we are running very short actually do we have enough we don’t have the wood for it we made a boat when I needed to okay so we’ll make a crafting table once we get to the ship which will be just fine uh man I’ve got

About the water wall too flat I miss those yeah this might be just as fun as a uh super flat challenge or maybe more fun as a super flat challenge um I feel like having the the one issue of this biome is because you picture it being 100 water

Um it’s a bit different to being a pure ocean also I think every vertebrate mob uh should um should Drop Bones you know if they have bones why aren’t they dropping them the weirdest thing is only the skeleton drops bones and the implications of that are just really confusing but I’ve got

Myself some Pepsi Max no caffeine not a believer in caffeine you know what I don’t understand is why do beverages like Coke have caffeine in them is anyone has anyone ever known the answer to that anyway so think speaking of answers we don’t know right now I think um

One of the real important things here is making sure uh that we have a decent supply of wood there are going to be shipwrecks probably a decent enough spawn too they’ll be great do you miss Sprite Island Seed uh I wish it could come back and just be infinite Islands

Thousands of blocks apart yeah it’s interesting because Minecraft is always changing the world Jen a lot of classic seeds have gone away and so I don’t know about Sprite Island um I’m gonna be honest with you I would not like to have an island made of sprite

Um is that another shipwreck over there actually have I been doing this the hard way the whole time so let’s get on our boat let’s eat our cooked salmon oh yeah so much easier than swimming let’s see what we can do hey take out your next challenge should

Be that you can’t put your head above water yeah I do love the um so I’ve been working on video right now a lot loads of people ask me what is the what challenge should I attempt if I want to do something like caveman or super flat and the answer is well you

Could do K Banner super I don’t mind if you borrow those ideas but I want to work on a video of people who are like who who want to have an idea that isn’t something they’ve seen so they can work it out from scratch and see how it goes

Um I think that might be fun for people okay so that oh yeah oh we’re going up to shovels here now so we could kill enough spiders to get string for a bed uh I don’t actually hate that as an option um I think what I’m gonna do though is

I’m gonna make myself a torch first um so make a lot of these move away from the zombie just because it’s a little bit dark you know we don’t have long that we have to live at night so let’s just is there any other way we can get wool

Because no mobs no positive mobs will spawn here just the negative mobs and we we can probably get some gold armor by killing enough of these guys eventually one of them will drop the good stuff so um yeah I think that is my plan I think we’ll go around we’ll kill some spiders

We’ll make a bed and then that’ll be that sorted okay no it’s gonna take a lot of spiders to make a bed so let’s instead oh actually let’s kill all the spiders we run across but let’s specifically head out trying to get our hands on that uh shipwreck up there

Because we need more wood than we have eight dark oak planks not a very good amount also love the controversy Cape looks so good in the elytra oh yeah say what you will about like how you feel about Minecraft’s doing things light and not in all regions of the world what

What you know maybe maybe you even don’t like the idea itself you know I I I I think that’s uh that’s that’s a category of person too and that’s that’s cool right but the I I think regardless what you think about the cape itself it looks

So good as an elytra like you know I you can you can be like deaf to all people who don’t feel like me but still be on board this cape in my opinion you know maybe maybe that’s what we need to do we just need better designs uh if you want

People to tolerate you more you should make really nice things for them that’s what the artist communities worked out for a while um you know like have you ever been around an artist that they can be really intolerable but they make nice things and so we go that’s cool you can you can

Keep doing you man as long as you keep making these nice things speaking of nice things why do these chests not have anything in I think it must be a bug based on the way that just vanished Into Thin Air do you see that okay well that’s fine

Oh everything’s broken a mob’s broken okay so is the oh the chest did have something in also they had paper in which is actually useful but I will die if I’m not careful so going to sleep tonight would be great given that we have four string we just need two wool

Where can you find well really you’d figure you’d find them on a ship but I think that’s not going to be the case and instead we’ll go kill some spiders get our sleep regime lockdown oh speaking of gang regimes lockdown that’s super nice and it’ll be great uh the

British museum got to the chest before you says uh Chad’s Cactus the uh I went to the British museum for the first time in uh many months on Sunday I want to say um it’s a nice place in there you know everyone acts like they’d be you’d

Figure everyone’s being so rude to you but apparently they’ve only been they were rude to people a few hundred years ago and so now as a result of that rudeness they can be extra nice to you you know sounds like a win to me uh so I just keep saying more controversial things

Is that the plan you know what this cape belongs in the British museum how about that uh this is that is that am I in favor of or against the cape at that point I don’t even know um I wish people stop getting political about the lgbtqk uh if you don’t like it

Then wear it easy uh there’s an interesting thing right because imagine I mean if you imagine the opposite and someone said don’t like it don’t wear it I think there’d be lots of outrage right rightfully so I don’t think it’s a fair comparison just to be clear here it’s

100 not a bad comparison um but I think people who disagree with you might say it is a fair comparison um which is where the such as and such as where the controversy comes from um I think um you know there’s a there’s a really interesting okay no we’re gonna focus on

Minecraft we’re gonna get these strings and then we you know if you get you get political while there’s Minecraft Mobs that can kill you bad things happen to you um but yeah I um where the hell is the ocean says Jason free you know that’s the funny thing about the ocean biome a

Lot of people don’t know is the land that spawns in the ocean by him is also ocean biome it’s so counter-intuitive I think you would never work it out naturally also the suspicious there is suspicious gravel here okay that’s gonna be useful for something that’s going to

Be really useful or something yeah above ground suspicious gravel we’re on to something big here also we’re finding So Many Zombies just I I don’t know that I want to find this much uh so um yeah we’re still looking very explicitly for um spiders but if we don’t find spiders

We don’t have to worry about it um so that spider looks to me like a good one I’m gonna go right in for the kill if we could have a bed for tomorrow that’d be okay I’ll accept that we won’t get one tonight most likely

Um let the creeper blow up oh no okay it worked it worked just fine just let the crew blow up actually let’s let’s get some copper for a no we’re never gonna get feathers are we zombies just don’t drop them anymore and so our options are a little bit limited

We did get to before the end of the night I’d like it to be known we’re most of the way um I uh yeah we’re most of the way to getting ourselves a bed we we’ve got two pieces of wool now we just need one third piece of wool which I’ll obviously

Get somewhat soon so now we’ll get some more of this and I think the goal should be getting a little bit of copper we only need feathers for it but I’m sure feathers I’m sure some chicken can spawn eventually somewhere maybe hopefully so yeah let’s um I think we’ll eat Ron

Flesh till we run out from flesh then we’ll switch over to the good food and in the meantime uh let’s go on an exploration see what else we find here so yeah this is the ocean biome it’s very weird to see Terrain in an ocean

Bomb it looks a lot like a mountain but you can tell it’s an ocean because literally nothing spawns it apparently a few flowers is all we get the occasional piece if we’re really lucky the occasional piece of small grass but yeah look at it chat it is a world

Devoid of life it looks suspiciously like non-ocean though that’s the funny thing like calling this an ocean by um he was a little misguided right I think that’s because they separated terrain generation from the stuff but it’s it’s still interesting um but um yeah I think um you can find

Feathers in shipwreck chest oh you’re right okay so we have to go to enough shipwrecks to find feathers and then we just combine that with some copper and we’re we’re in we’re in for some very exciting finds okay I like that also I missed the chest over here

Oh okay we’re making we’re making some good stuff now lapis is going to be so useful and an XP bottle is just fun okay so let’s go make a crafting table we make a lot of crafting tables but that’s okay and let’s treat ourselves to

A uh oh I’ve got two crafting tables now let’s treat ourselves to an iron sword I am clearly running very low on this Stone one so we’ll throw it on the ground and we’re good maybe treat ourselves to a to an iron pickaxe yeah sure I’m gonna want that at some point

And yeah we made the slight little upgrade but the most important upgrade here is going to be also eat some more wrong flesh uh would have been great by the February to Stevan can you imagine I I love when the moment you realize you can get something is the moment you also

Doesn’t look like a a an ocean blam right you you look at it and you go it must not be one but it is apparently so into the sea will go looking for feathers it’s so funny that you’re on a place to find feathers is underwater you

Know I’m just saying what happened to all those poor chickens can someone please explain that to me those chickens probably probably had really bad reasons to be alive so you’re gonna search the things for a brush Crusher world just a play of suspicious gravel suspicious gravel has a surprising

Amount going on with that Jeff Watkins um I think for helping me beat Minecraft it is just a fun side quest but the main quest is I’ve got to find some lava too right so I I think it’s always fun to have little side quests on those main main objectives speaking of

You know what man that’s that’s some dark law entirely believable though also yeah finding I don’t know if we’re gonna find lava above ground the chance I don’t think there are lava pits in the ocean biome which means we might have to dig down specifically looking for lava

Um it’s fun there’s some like ruined portals also we should be able to find one but the lack of ones so far makes me think that it’s not as guaranteed as I’d like to eat some rotten flesh and then swim down real quick go get caught in some fences

Swim down swim more what’s in here a lot of fun a lot of iron nuggets too a lot of iron a couple of emeralds couple of one of these now we get out of there I think I should just bring sand with me and then I don’t have to do this would

Make some sense but it doesn’t mean I’ve done it um yeah let’s let’s Um what we’re going to do is we’re going to deliberately grab some gravel actually no it’s it’s too small it’s like it’s a good idea but I’m In Too Deep so now we’re gonna go over here okay um chest over here has nothing yet and is there another chest over here there

I I feel like when you’re in a new world having every resource at your disposal is always a good idea you never know when later it’s going to turn out we just so happen to need one of those one of those decorated pots and it’s like oh

I knew I should have cut one earlier because they’re just so useful right I love the decorated pots the things you can do with those chat so yeah we we go brushing and then we can deal with the getting to the never problem um which as you can see look at this

Stuff in there there’s a decent fishing rod but I don’t think I need a decent fishing rod um so let’s break our way out there Place one of those blocks in and then just check the last few of these while we you know gonna level with you the the

Valuelessness of most of this loot is incredibly sad I mean I got some coal uh this is definitely a place you come for fun definitely not for valuable loot if you’re trying to beat Minecraft maybe maybe better places to head so we’ll cook up the last the copper just because

It’s better to have cooked copper than raw copper we’ll throw away the gravel as well as the poisonous potato I don’t know why I picked up the poisonous potato gonna be honest that was a dumb decision and then oh well we’ll drink the suspicious stew I think I’ve got to

Eat the rotten flesh first but we should also drink suspicious too what what effect do you think the suspicious two has I’m not hey Sasquatch I feel like being lad is cheating it’s weird right I um it does feel oh wow it does feel a little bit like that

The biome the the whole world is kind of based on this weird premise that that is wrong to most people even though it is objectively correct that like yeah the the ocean biome has a lot to it it just doesn’t feel like it does so we’ll throw

Away these I’m gonna break this now as well as this and now let’s go okay so I’ve got I don’t think I cooked up the Cod correctly yes I did I now just have to throw away some dumb items that I have on me don’t know which ones are the

Dumbest we’ll work it out as we go so now let’s get back on our boat and maybe let’s go under the water there I think the even though like uh I think the clever thing about going underwater is I can claim it’s actually uh useful because if we go you just need

To find a deep enough ocean spot and then we’ll dig down from underneath oh big salmon you know when when when when when life gives you big salmon it’s your it’s it’s your prerogative to kill the salmon okay don’t don’t run away from me uh we are going to need to cook

More salmon at some point um so let’s just let’s just kill it right now we could get a trident if we want a diamond level work tool but um yeah we’re gonna go right back this way I think just find the lowest point in the ocean find like a nice big ocean

Ravine and then use that as our way down so um yeah I think um get XP from your bull up enchantel to save the spot yeah that that is such a smart idea also you know the scariest in Minecraft is never do I have a good stream thank you for

Which is how Don’t like overwhelmingly deep not as deep as you would like but deep enough I guess so we can trough we could probably craft like a trapdoor down there and just make that the entrance to something it’s like it’s not ideal is it it’s uh you would love to find a cave

Yeah okay so now when we mine down these blocks there won’t be any water on this side of it unless it water log which it didn’t perfect so now look we can jump up into the water but also fall down into this where there’s also light yeah that’s nice huh

This is smart probably I’m convinced my boss finds staff on the side of the road says uh Sasquatch two three thousand two twenty three hundred okay so here’s the secret to finding stuff on the side of the road people that you find on like a job listing site

Characteristic it’s not the same as like uh something like that but I do think like actually reaching out to people who disagree with you is way more important than just saying ah they’re wrong and they’re evil um because we just believe that half the population are evil eventually half the

Population start doing evil things uh in in our minds um I was asked to work at my previous job because I hung out there best and worst job I ever had yeah I want a job that works that way I actually you know I think not ironically

That’s kind of how my like current situation works it’s like I would rather employ someone who knows what the the videos I do are I’ve tried hiring video editors that have no idea like you know like what YouTube is or what it is I do on YouTube and they they almost like

Never understand quite what like what’s required for a YouTube video editing uh thing and even sometimes if it’s someone who does YouTube editing but they do a different genre they’re really confused as to why you’d want to do certain like edits and cuts and I just think it’s one

Stalactites and stagmites I have neither one of my mind’s going glow um so I’m gonna find any of those so finding a bigger lava pit is really an essential if we find a small one we just get we have one piece of lava that we can use to burn things

But you can’t even burn the only source of food we can get because it spawns in the oceans anyway so you know it’s not terrible but it’s not good we have enough iron just to do it so everything else we’re gonna do we’re just gonna go make a bucket and

We just have to Edge towards the skeleton we’re gonna really take a hammering to our Shield durability here okay so is there anyone more coming no there’s not then we have to drop a bunch of stuff that we just don’t need on the ground here um like really not that necessary right

And we have to go grab this hide in the corner put on the helmet oh yeah see death Loop avoided it is very easy in another situation like this to get yourself in one of those the thing that got you killed the first time can get you killed the second time

But I can avoid that I am pretty sure so now we are going to give ourselves a temporary respite in the form of food this is my nevermap by the way it’s very useful um so I’m gonna quickly make myself oh I can only make myself a furnace okay so

Um furnace goes over here Okay so now we’re just gonna get the salmon in the furnace and oh gosh so they’re both coming here together which is dangerous okay he’s over the top that’s fine foreign Extremely bad okay we’re fine we’re gonna we’re gonna live we’re gonna lift oh okay it’s all about the shield look at that see it was all about the shield like I said now we’re gonna seal ourselves off in a box and we’re just gonna cook up

Also was it is it there really this bigger for Soul Sand Valley I’m not saying it’s impossible I’m just very disappointed ah the worst biome next to the other worst biome Minecraft you could do better you can do better and you should do better Minecraft so we’re gonna build a lovely big wall

Over here build a wall something about making skeletons pay for it um by making it nice and wide it kind of blocks off their angles and now we can go over here instead okay so hopefully we can just Traverse this biome as fast as possible we’ll make a nice safe pathway through

The gas tries to attack us we have to start running while placing but it’s okay the bridge is done and there’s no piglets behind me and now I’m in the safe biome we can make the bridge a little bit thicker if we want to but that’s not really

It’s not a priority it’s just a thing I can do and now place the occasional block through here just I’ve got too much too much net rack on me you know needs scared of it at some point oh okay I’m alive can I know okay so here’s the thing

This is a fun challenge that I will definitely be re-attempting but um on the upside that’s a short there’s a good point you know chat is this you you witnessed the YouTube short and the creation it took two hours so it was a pretty long YouTube short

But now people can enjoy the pain I think at this point it’s easier to start again I think we can do this Challenge and just to avoid the just because I think people might enjoy uh seeing it more maybe we’ll stay inside of the water the entire time or like under the water
