Can you beat my time in Minecraft Icarus?

Hello this is stampy and welcome to a minecraft let’s play video today i am doing another video where i try and set a good time on one of the glide mini game maps and then you need to try and beat my time today we are playing the

Icarus map which may be possibly the last ever glide map that i do in this basically because we don’t know whether they’re going to be making any more glide maps so hopefully they are but maybe not and let’s just be honest to begin this uh this game here so i kind

Of have a rule when i’m about to record a video i only do it if i want to record it so what i mean by that is if i’m in a good mood and i’m looking forward to recording then i go and record it okay it just means that

It stops me going crazy and it keeps me enjoying what i’m doing also hopefully it makes more entertaining videos for you so that’s just a little background this is one of the the first ever videos i am making and breaking that rule i am not looking forward to making this video

Not because i’m in a bad mood not because i don’t like the glide mini game but because this map this map is something else so a lot of the apps that i play have difficult moments okay or maybe one or two usually just one particularly difficult moment

Which i struggle on uh while i’m playing the the map this one is a list of difficult moments basically there’s more difficult moments than there are non-difficult moments there are so many shortcuts and so many parts that are just really really tricky and they put

Them all in a line all in a neat line and they’re not even at the beginning either it generally kind of tends to get harder the further through the map so you could go perfectly through the the majority of the map and then suddenly there’s a little shortcut like this that

You need to make and i have been practicing i have been training to play this level i have yet to complete one run where i make it through without crashing while trying to to go the the route that i’m going to try to go so i’m not looking forward to this map

Because i am making it with the expectation that is going to be an enormous fail so let’s just go like i was training for ages i was practicing and it just got to a point where i was like you know what let’s record this video because i am

Never going to get good enough where i can kind of you know easily complete the the course the way that i know that i need to do so let’s just go and record and we’ll see what happens maybe i’ll get lucky and the stars will align and

I’ll be able to complete this map properly but the chances of that happening are so slow even like little parts like this we’ve got a it’s just so many difficult parts so many difficult parts so what i’m gonna do even though i’m crashing a bunch i’m just gonna

Carry on right because i kind of want to to show you the the route that i go anyway and then we’ll go and try and start tackling it because even if i can’t complete it maybe you will be able to to do it and maybe be just kind of

Teaching you the uh a pretty good route to go is going to to help you out in your endeavors even if it doesn’t mean that i’m going to set a good time so what i might need to do if i can’t get one good run going this route i’m

I might just try and like not do this route i might just in the end just kind of throw in the towel and just go an easier route that i know i’m going to be able to complete just to set a somewhat respectable time because literally every single section

Has just some crazy difficult part to it and i can’t do it i am simply not good enough i have reached the the skill cap in myself and this level seems to be it so basically that is most of the the harder parts done now so you’d go up here and then

You go down the other side and that leads you to the the finish line so that’s basically the route let’s do it again and let’s talk through it a little bit more i’m not even going to even attempt to like stay close to the walls

And build up speed and all of that stuff because that stuff doesn’t matter if i i’m able just to complete the route no matter how fast i can do it that is going to be good for for me so this is the first tricky part you need to kind

Of boost up to the the side here and you got to fit through this gap and this isn’t the easiest part to go through and then there’s that shortcut there you can barely even see it so it looks like and it’s not the only shortcut like this

It looks like it’s only one block wide it is actually a little bit bigger than that so basically what they’ve done for a bunch of the shortcuts on this level is put vines kind of growing over them and so it looks like they’re smaller than they are it just basically makes

Them more hidden so i generally go a little bit left to the the block because there’s a two block gap there rather than a one block gap there so it makes things still very difficult but ever so slightly easier so that’s what i recommend doing here so here i just kind

Of gradually slope down to build up your speed as much as you can uh when you’re right by the edge kind of look down steep to be at up speed and then kind of look up almost immediately and you can really keep your speed going and boost

Your way through to here now this is the tricky part can i make it through and there we go that was perfect and now you want to do the same thing again keep going down steep and then look up you don’t even need an air boost as long as

You’ve got enough momentum that’s going to be enough to lift you around i didn’t do that very fast but now we have another one of those shortcuts through the the vines and oh that was so close so for that one let’s just go and carry on and keep her

Talking through the route shall we so that one i find uh once again uh staying slightly to the the left of where the main opening is and just staying as close to that wall on the left as you can because then that way even if you

Hit the wall on the left like you’re just gonna get like one bit of damage done it doesn’t really slow you down very much and you can kind of carry on so that’s where i recommend doing not what i am doing now what i’m going to

Try and do now because if you stay too far to the right you’re going to hit the the block of leaf block and that’s just going to stop you dead and that’s going to be the the end of your your run so let’s go and do this from the beginning

And let’s see we can try and start chaining a few of these those aren’t even the harder bits by the way it gets even more harder a little bit later on that’s just the the warm-up that is just getting us ready for what the the rest of this map

Is going to throw at us i didn’t need to save the the most difficult map for for last and to be fair it’s not like this is a crazy difficult map like a lot of the the more difficult maps aren’t actually difficult they’re just a little bit more confusing to to

Navigate in terms of just like playing normally not trying to do the shortcuts the ones that a lot of people say are difficult i think of the ones that just aren’t as clear in terms of which route you can and can’t go and this one isn’t like that this one’s actually okay to

Fly through like a civilian like a normal glide player it’s only when you start trying to to chain together a bunch of these shortcuts did things start really uh beginning to get out of control but i can do i can normally do these shortcuts i’m doing i’m doing

Worse than i was in my training i’m not trying to to make it look more difficult than it is on purpose i was uh doing a little bit better early on i kind of normally can do each of these each of these individual shortcuts i reckon i have a

70 success rate i know it might not look like that now but that’s kind of what it’s been leading up to here and that would be fine the problem is is there’s you know a chain of about six that i can complete 70 of the time and if i fail on

Any one of them then that’s the the end of the the run in its entirety so it’s not the fact that each individual section is difficult like there has been like harder individual moments on some of the other tracks it’s the fact that there’s so many difficult ones all in a

Row so right that’s enough blabbering let’s concentrate let’s do this properly so start gradually going down here building up as much speed as you can and then you want to go down really sharp to get really fast and then make sure you can boost back up and there we go that

Was pretty quick and you can make your way through here now let’s really concentrate i think i’m going too far to the i was going too far to the left that time i tried to compensate and go too far to the the right so let me just go

And i cut ahead until i can at least get through that shortcut okay there we go i got through it first time when i wasn’t talking and you wouldn’t be the case i’d you be the case the second that i just stayed quiet and just completely concentrated i

Would be able to do it so i didn’t cut ahead too far ahead and there we go i got through that shortcut i did bang my did bang myself a little bit but this is the this is the furthest i’ve got so far in the video without having to to

Restart uh this part there is a shortcut which is a crazy shortcut probably the most difficult shortcut out of all of the maps and one of the ones that cuts out the most time i can’t do it i wasn’t able to do it once but i could do it

Once but not like in part of a a proper run so there’s one shortcut that i decided just to to kind of skip out and not even bother to to try i will point it out to you just in case you do want

To give it a go so let me go and point out where the shortcut is there this time just in case you do want to put the time in and practice it because if you do it will cut off a real big chunk of your time i just know that this level is

Difficult enough the way it is i didn’t need to add any extra difficulty for for me in order to go and try and set the best time that i could i just knew that there’d be no way that i’d actually be able to complete it but

There we go i seem to kind of have that shortcut a little bit worked out i didn’t do this part very fast i kind of looked up a little bit too early and now i’m i’m going really slowly down for here but this is the other difficult

Shortcut there we go i didn’t even bang so more so than ever keeping as many hearts as you can is important because there’s so many uh shortcuts that i make my way through where i make my way through but i often kind of bang the the side wall and so

Trying to keep as many hearts for for these uh later sections is actually much more important than some of the other ones where normally i either crash and completely fail or don’t crash at all so i’m glad to have kept my hearts up i can

Kind of cut the corner here and kind of cut around there and then i want to boost myself up here and you really want to get your speed up high here because once again i don’t use the boost pad i just look up and just the momentum that

I had is enough to to make my way around so there we go this has been the the best run so far this is where i i start getting very very nervous there’s another really difficult section here we’ve got to go and loop around there like that but once again nicely done now

I am getting really really nervous i need to go and really boost myself up as high as i can here to make it over this part not too high not to hit the bridge okay now i’m really really nervous now i am really really nervous this is better

Than i have done on any of my practices so far so i’m going to take things very very slowly for the rest of the course and just make sure that i don’t crash because there’s not much time left oh don’t bang your head no no go over go

Over and across the video i did it i did it this is my first finish this is the first time i’ve ever finished this level ever and it was it was slow it was 1.45.050 that was terrifying like it wasn’t the fastest that i could do it but i have

Set a time there is a time which is written down in front of me you all saw it that is for the moment the time that you’re going to need to be and let’s be honest here probably gonna be the final time that you’re going to need to to be

This has got me into a situation that i really didn’t expect to be in i never expected that i’d be in a situation where i need to just go through the course again and try and cut down time i literally thought it was going to be a case where

I might not even finish the course go in that route and have to to start again that is an incredible feeling like that is the good thing about when things are really difficult like this okay the the work that you have to put in to get good

Enough to be able to do it isn’t the most fun thing to do in the world as i said i was not looking forward to doing this video i was honest about that but the feeling you get when you’re finally able to to complete it is amazing you

Know what i have now i have confidence i have i don’t have confidence i just i just don’t have anything to worry about because i’ve already got that time done all i need to to focus on now is going even faster but i realized i didn’t point out where that shortcut was so

Let’s just go and carry on on this right i’m going to go and restart it in a second but let me just go and try and show you what the uh the ridiculous shortcut is because it is it is absolutely ridiculous so you’d have to boost down here go through the gap there

And then it’s coming up here you see straight ahead there’s a little gap here you’ve got to go through there it’s like a one block wide gap and i don’t think you can really you can just about do it when you start from here but you basically got to go through there and

Then you’re going to look down like that and then that puts you straight into that room so you know the whole part i went down here i got to like circle around the stairs and it’s like the slowest part in the entire map and takes ages you cut out that entire section by

Going down through there and it’s not worth trying if you really really really want to set like a world record and you take it that seriously give it a go have a try see if you can do it if you just want to beat

My time or just want to be able to to be better than your friends or the people you play against online don’t even worry about it don’t even go there because it’s such a difficult shortcut and a couple of actually kind of made it in as

Far as i did then but trust me if you’re going full speed and part of a longer run there is a very small chance you’re going to be able to do that unless you are some sort of glide master or spend literally like a week just trying it

Again and again and again until you do it so that will be the only attempt of that shortcut you will see in this video i have done my job i have showed you where the shortcut is if you want to go and try and do it again it’s in your

Hand so that was a relatively fast start but i’ve only got one heart left now so the chances of making my entire way through to the the end with just one heart it’s pretty slim but i was able to go pretty fast through the rest of that

So if i can do this i think that was definitely a faster time than the time when i finished up until now so who knows maybe maybe i will even be able to get faster than that and get a better time that was a a pretty nice boost

There to get my speed up let’s stay close to the wall on the left and this is where i’m probably gonna die oh i didn’t die i didn’t know that’s nice that’s pleasant i didn’t crash into the wall it scares me only having this one heart though because one tiny nah As i was saying i was gonna say one tiny little mistake is gonna be enough to make me fail and that is exactly what happened there that would have been so fast as well because i would have carried on from that that little bang that killed me wouldn’t have slowed me

Down very much so i would have been able to carry on so that is a great example of why on this map in particular it’s really great to hang onto those hearts i mean i don’t expect anyone to be crashing on purpose anyway but maybe it’s a case where if you lose two

Hearts early on maybe just restart and just uh just save yourself the the heartbreak of what i just had to go to right then let’s maybe have one more one more little attempt here then i think we’re ready to go online because to be honest i really am doubting that i am

Going to be able to to complete the course again let alone do it faster i think the chances that i’m going to get to the the end of this course at all is very very slim so yeah let’s do one more attempt here and then we’ll go in line

And that means that i basically have three more attempts to be able to do it with no restart this has been a pretty nice go here though kept my speed up quite well here i never know quite how to do this staircase bit well not like that i would imagine

Right then so that’s gonna be the the end of the uh the solo section of the the can you beat my time video let’s cut ahead until i’ve got online and uh found some other players and uh we’ll see whether i’m going to to be able to to do

Any better with other people in the game okay i have been joined by a couple jessies you will see what i mean once we uh we start flying around so this is it three final attempts no restarts it’s all come down to this i got one minute

45 basically is my time to beat the thing is i don’t even know if that’s a good time i haven’t checked they’re the leaderboards at all so i don’t know if that’s like a fast time overall or not so i guess we’re going to have to wait

To see as i check the leaderboards at the end of the game i was very happy with it even if it’s not a fast game compar fast time compared to other people i was proud of being able to complete the course in that time

So i was fine with it sorry about my my voice there i got it was scary you’re going so fast through such tiny gaps you need such precision which uh i don’t always have as you can you can see the chances of me getting a better time on my first

Attempt online was a a very a slim thing uh indeed but let’s use this as training and sometimes i use actually no let’s use this as a as a sightseeing trip then shall we so uh this is the the route that i guess most people would be going

Through this area so i kind of skip like a lot of the the very pretty views when i i go the the route that i do go so let’s just let’s just go a different route i probably shouldn’t do this because i’m completely throwing my brain off because i’ve been going there the

Same way pretty much every single time all of this time and now suddenly i’m going a different route my brain can’t handle it i’m going to throw myself off for when i when i start playing through it probably again but yeah let’s just go and admire everything so of course this is called

Icarus so it’s the story of the icarus but it seems to be more like general greek mythology it seems to be like a whole bunch of different kind of old greek stories that are kind of all thrown into one which is uh which is cool i really love having a look around

These maps so normally rather than going through my little tiny shortcut at the top here i’d go around this way and i’ve never actually been through here before and whoa there is a medusa isn’t it the giant picture can i go for a eye i think

I might be able to go for her eye oh let’s go through her eye shall we oh it doesn’t seem to be much good for me you’re putting me all the way back here did i not go through a checkpoint during all of that that is a

Really big gap between checkpoints to be fair like i was all the way on the other side of here so let’s not go through the eyelets um we’ll smash into a wall instead then shall we i’m going to end up just losing this online game where

Are the where are the jessie’s where are the twins of jessie’s like two people in the the jesse skin just literally joined the the game at the the exact same time so it was really bizarre but yeah let’s let’s just go and make our way to the

The end so i think that oh so you can go down this way seems to be the the main way that you would go i don’t know one of the jessie’s has left yeah i guess that’s the way you’re supposed to go and i’m actually going to

Do this part the way i’m supposed to because this is actually one of the the trickier parts where you need to get to this one then you kind of need to to really get the angle right to look up because sometimes i get boosted really high there and sometimes i seem to not

Get boosted high enough so i got quite lucky uh with the the route when i was able to do it i didn’t do it the fastest i could have but i was able to do that part okay but that has been one of the the other trickier sections

And i’m sure if you go to play this map yourself uh to try and beat the the time i set here you will experience the the difficulty there yourself but anyway let’s just go and cut ahead until jesse has been able to make their way to the

The end of the level and we can go in for round number two okay we are now on round number one again the jessie’s left both of the jessie’s left the game and annoyingly it ended the the game which means uh yeah i had to wait for a couple more people to join

In so we’re going it again from round number one so i guess uh every cloud has a silver lining even though i’m starting again that’s a good thing it basically means i get one extra chance uh in order to get my my time improved uh so let’s

Uh why does my voice keep going so high when i play this level yeah so i mean it means that basically i have one round back so we’re back on round number one and as you can see i completely made the most of it i completely made the most of having my

Extra round as i crashed straight into the the wall there it doesn’t feel like a loss to be fair though because i feel like i shouldn’t have this round anyway so it doesn’t really it doesn’t really feel that bad that i wasted it and that

Was a a very slow gradual glide should i go for the crazy shortcut let’s have a go trying to do the the crazy shortcut just to see if i can make it i know i said that i wouldn’t be attempting the shortcut again but soon as i’ve already

Pretty much filled this round anyway let’s just go and have a go for the crazy shortcut to see if i can make it so you need to go through ah so you need to get your speed up that’s one of the big things leading up to it you need to

Have your speed up and then it’s not only the diffic the difficulty of in the the awkward angle trying to get through the the single block gap it’s also then making your way through the shortcut because there’s a small exit on the other end as well

And you need to go down really really steep otherwise you’re gonna bang your head on the ceiling so basically everything that could make a shortcut difficult is in this one single shortcut but if you are going to be doing one of like the the really crazy fast times you

Kind of have to do the shortcut you really don’t have a choice and it’s just not going to happen you see why i didn’t bother attempting it like from here when you start slowly i might be able to maybe even not then like i found that if

You just kind of stay staring pretty much forward you can almost just glide let me just try not pressing anything maybe that’s going to be the way to do if i just literally don’t press anything i need to go slightly left that’s actually pretty close let’s go just

Slightly to the left and at the last minute kind of go like up a little bit and then down that’s actually really really close to being able to to make it in but to be fair i think it’s just not going to to make it in at all so let’s

Uh let’s not do this for the next half an hour let’s just go and cut ahead uh to round number two which is kind of the the round i should really be on right about now okay we were able to make it to round number two this time one thing

That i found crazy is how many people just can’t finish these courses and i don’t know because i’m like i’m saying that oh everyone’s really bla so everyone’s really bad oh no did they leave oh don’t leave don’t leave is that we are we carrying on are we carrying

Not okay they both left but it looks like the game’s gonna allow me to carry on so it looks like we’re okay for now it’s not going to end it so yeah it’s with how how many people can’t complete the courses and i’m not saying that they’re they’re not very good at glide

It’s just that the courses are really difficult and you know it’s not they’re the easiest thing in the the world and some people just really struggle with it just some people really can’t get the the hang of hunter to do it and sometimes it’s not entirely clear like

The the waiter to go really fast and does take a lot of practice but i’d say just in my time playing online i would say that definitely over half of the the people don’t make it to the end of the course and like if they do like there’s

Normally just one part in every map where it just confuses people so i was just watching someone now just kind of struggling on the part that i’m on right now not going through the shortcut just kind of going there the normal route and they were trying going left trying going

Right and they just weren’t able to get the the speed and it’s it’s crazy because i just feel like the majority of the people just aren’t getting the the enjoyment out of glide which which is there and you know i’m assuming that if they they practice enough they will be

Able to you know enjoy a lot more but it just seems weird to have like a game mode where you know it’s it’s you know probably about half of the the people playing you know aren’t really kind of enjoying it to the full extent but then again normally when i’m doing these

Videos i’m playing on the the newer maps when they are new especially maps like this that you need to pay to play like i’m pretty certain that the majority of the people i’m playing with this is the first time that they’ve played these maps or if they have played them before

They just haven’t played them very much so i think that makes a big difference i think if we were playing on like some of the the first maps that came out like back in the day i think people have probably learned how to get through them

A little bit quicker but i always find that uh interesting anyway this is of course a another failed attempt i’m just kind of carrying it on as a practice before i go and do my my final last go to see if i can make it through and it’s

Always it’s always nice when i fail on these bits like they’re crashing i’d have normally been annoyed but soon as i knew that i’d failed anyway like it’s nice to know that that crash isn’t really going to affect anything does that make sense i think that makes sense at all that’s

Annoying though that was an annoying crash to make i just got through the the checkpoint though so it’s not as bad as it could have been oh yeah this is the kind of tricky i kind of look up into the side a little bit in order to boost

Myself high enough to get over there because you might find if you play this map yourself sometimes you’re not getting high enough i kind of recommend you looking up and like i kind of go slightly to the left i guess it doesn’t really matter i just in order to be able

To to get high enough to be able to to make your way across there so i’m not sure what’s going to happen here i’m not sure if it’s going to let me do my final round it might end the game now is anyone here it’s just me here is it

Gonna let me do round number three or is it going to to end the game because everyone’s left i have a feeling feeling it might end the game i hope it doesn’t oh it did it ended the game i wish i wish i didn’t do that i wish it kind of

Just let you do the third round anyway because like why not why not just let me do the third round so it looks like that is going to be my final time i had my bonus extra round earlier anyway so i didn’t lose out on

Any of my attempts so i am going to take the time that i set as my final time so let’s see how well i have done uh overruling the the ranks am i near the top well i’m not top ten thirteen lucky number thirteen i was born on the third

Team so lucky number thirteen four for me just under the hoppo hippo and how big of a difference not too big of a difference i could probably move up to maybe i think i might be able to get the 11th space but i don’t think

I’d be able to to be any of these guys up here so i i’m happy we’ve been there the 13th fastest time on the the playstation 4 and uh hello hello there nice to meet you anyway though that is going to be the uh the end of this video here hopefully you

Enjoyed it the time you need to be then is one minute uh 45 seconds .050 so good luck doing that but that might be the last ever can you beat my time video but i guess we’re going to have to wait and see but for now thanks for watching and
