Cancelled Minecraft 1.19 Features That Would’ve Changed Everything

Recently mojang dropped another one of their secrets episodes where they dive into the development of certain update features as you can see here there’s concepts and concepts and even more concepts some of those concepts were absolutely amazing it’s me wattles and today in honor of some of those amazing

Features and this giant billboard that the villagers built in their village we’re going to take a look at 10 features that were almost in 1.19 and trust me i promise you haven’t heard about them all some of these ones aren’t very common like this first one guarantee you’ve never heard of it

Before absolutely none firefly okay okay look let it go it’s never gonna happen impossible you break my heart the promise of the firefly was so exciting honestly the firefly was one of the things i was most excited for for the wild update how could i just let this

Thing go the firefly could have been amazing inside of the wild update to check out these fireflies which are pretty much the same as what they would have been if added into the vanilla game i’m using a data pack by gametron 13. the potential here is all in the

Aesthetics picture this is your minecraft world it’s nighttime and around your world at nighttime you have fireflies flying around it’s absolutely amazing now minecraft it doesn’t really exactly support dynamic lighting so i don’t know if it would actually light things up like this but if it didn’t amazing even better you can actually

Grab the fireflies and put them inside of a bottle once they’re inside of this bottle if you put that bottle on the ground it actually lights it up a little bit even more dynamic lighting which is so cool after you’re done with the firefly in the bottle you can simply

Toss it and set the firefly free it was such a simple concept and the frogs unfortunately they ruined it all they just had to go and get poisoned when they eat these things fireflies definitely they could have been amazing but no offense to them i think this next one could have been more

Amazing this was actually the feature that inspired this video specifically during the secrets of the deep dark video on the official minecraft channel there’s tons of really cool concepts like that’s amazing it’s really really nice but there’s one that as soon as i saw it

As soon as i saw this thing look as soon as i saw that thing it was over on site i need that i need it now i need it immediately for this video the closest thing that i could find was the stone chest mod so this version of the stone chest is a

Little bit different from the concept proposed in minecraft live i mean this is literally just a chest that is sewn but you get the picture taking a look back at this concept art it looks like these versions of the stone chest would have been absolutely deep slatified so

Like perfect for the ancient city and even one version of this chest is overtaken by skulk it’s so cool now let’s talk a little bit how you would have opened these chests because it gets even better we get even more context on the stone chest from this concept are

Right here now there’s a lot of cool things to look at here but this note that’s what we care about right now stone chests the players need to slowly slide their heavy stone lid which makes a lot of noise and vibration and takes time holds valuable loot oh my gosh that

Is so cool even if this container is not craftable even if it wouldn’t have been movable doesn’t matter wouldn’t matter at all a stone chest that slowly opens up and has really really good loot inside of it oh man when it comes to things that fit inside of the ancient

City that would have fit literally perfect some kind of ancient container that hasn’t been opened in like at least years probably decades or centuries or does does time even exist in minecraft next up if you’re not only a big fan of java but also a fan of bedrock and you

Follow the development versions of bedrock edition you might remember this feature it existed for a brief moment in time the copper horn the copperhorn was almost an instrument that made it into the wild update just like the item that it comes from the goat horn the copperhorn came in a bunch of different

Versions except it took it one step further first off the instrumentation i mean it’s definitely a vibe a particular one but the thing is with the copperhorn if i were to have grouched and used it the thing is literally a two in one oh but just you wait there’s more if i look

Up and not crouch and use it It’s a three in one three sounds all in one rd rapid hyperion big shout out this data pack is the perfect copper horn data pack now in the vanilla game we have eight goat horns which means eight copper horns this pack has two additional copper horns as well you can

Craft these all in survival too which is awesome originally the copperhorn crafting recipe was going to look something like this right here we have copper ingots and goat horn of course inside the crafting table data packs are a little bit different so we’ll throw that on the ground throw those three on

The ground as well and then eventually if it works eventually we should get a copperhorn i slightly missed the mark on that one it needs to go on the crafting table and there we go our very own copperhorn it’s so cool unfortunately a couple betas after the

Copperhorn was added it was cut from the update because the devs weren’t really happy with it i think it could have been the perfect item to stun the warden with i mean look the warden is super sensitive to sounds imagine being able to craft a copperhorn go down to the

Deep dark use one of these things and it’s overwhelmed the sense is overloaded the demonic beast of the depths then locks up for a second freezes in sheer shock and terror and you have a few moments to get away well we’re done in the deep dark let’s

Just go ahead and talk about this next one the skull kajam if you’ve been following the development of the deep dark biome senses conception way long ago then you know about the skull jaw a little bit or at least you know that it exists because that’s all we know as

Always just like with every feature that doesn’t make it into the game the developers have their reasons for cutting things we’ll probably never truly know why the skulk jaw didn’t make the cut but maybe you know me i like a good challenge i think the skull jaw had

So much opportunity so first off look at the texture of this thing this thing is literally the warden’s chest second off if you walk in the skulk jar well nothing happens i’m just using a resource pack but look allow me to show you what should happen in survival

Minecraft with the skulk jaw item thing look at this this is a sweet berry bush you move into it you take damage imagine a skull block that would sometimes generate on the ground that you also had to look out for inside of the deep dark so it’s not all just sneaking but it’s

Also avoiding traps that sit on the ground i mean i don’t know about you but i love the sounds of it that would make the ancient city even more dangerous and the deep dark biome well the deep dark by them itself i mean think about it no hostile mob spawn here which means

Essentially there’s no danger as long as you don’t set off the warden having skulk jaw on the ground every once in a while would definitely make this place feel a little bit less welcoming this next one is a really simple one and it comes from one single

Concept art i don’t know how serious of a concept this was but check this thing out right here sewn with different carvings different patterns in it of course we have bricks that could probably be stone bricks but then we have this lattice looking thing and then different chiseled stone as well maybe

These types of stones would have generated around the ancient city as part of the structure we’ll never know but that could have been really really cool to see if we take a look at the stone options in the game specifically the chiseled ones none of the options that we have currently look anything

Like that concept art but considering the fact that the angel city was in development for so long this could have simply been early ideas for different versions of deep sleep like deep slate tiles a deep slate chiseled and deep slate brick we all know it the frog is one of the

Biggest parts of 1.19 i mean this thing is literally so big that it got another feature completely cut from the update look i’m not going to forgive it why won’t you cut come on i mean never mind look at that texture what if i told you that there was

Potentially going to be a fourth version of the frog would you believe me well you should believe me because concept art and check this thing out now just with the other concept arts that we talked about earlier according to the developers just because it’s a concept

Art doesn’t mean it was actually a thing but blue frog the frog is literally blue look at it and i mean think about it for a second blue things that are in the game they’re some of the coolest things warped wood amazing blue ice i mean it’s literally

Blue diamonds i guess diamonds of course and then this terra cotta maybe not that terra cotta but other blue things in the game they’re great what the devs do with the frog is so cool how there’s different colors based off of the temperature the bottom that they were

Boarding i mean that’s fascinating this is really cool how would the blue one fit in well i don’t know maybe it’s a super rare genetic mutation like meaning the frog is born in whatever biome it has a tiny chance like maybe one percent chance to adjust to just become blue

Because why not and blue frog oh boy you know what that means this time around no date of fact no resource pack it’s all me check this out yes your eyes do not deceive you at all blue frog light all over the place over here no it’s not just a blue filter on

The frog lights that currently exists no this is blue frog very cool very cool our next one is a simple one and it’s going to get almost no explanation because honestly let’s face it it’s something that we have talked about a lot it’s something the community has talked about a lot the

Birch forest overhaul a revamped birch forest bomb it could have been amazing even though it was all just one big miscommunication it’s still fun to imagine what the verge force revamp could have been or maybe will look like in the future i mean take a look at the

Mangrove swamp bomb what the devs do with the mangrove swamp bomb it’s absolutely amazing this is easily one of the most interesting and okay that’s some weird generation uh well anyways the mangrove swamp item is really really cool brush boards could have been great too check out this video

After you finish this one if you’d like to dive into the potential amazing realities of a birch forest update for this next one let’s go back down to the deep dark bottom again because i feel like there’s so much potential here and maybe the developers agree at least

At a certain point in time and shortly after the implementation of the deep dark biome and snapshots king b dog tweeted a picture with the deep dark covered in fossils i have never forgotten since that day on that fateful day the king himself made it very clear

That this was just an idea they were testing things out seeing if it really fit and unfortunately it seems like it didn’t exactly fit i think it totally good of though fossils generating more commonly inside of the deep dark biome look this place is already terrifying

Let’s make it more i mean look think about it it totally fits him with the lore of the skull and whatever’s going on the skull catalyst is literally made out of bone that is fact disco shrieker same thing this is bone cutting out of the top not end stone or anything like

That boom even though it is really cool to find in survival and explore i can’t help but feel that the deep dark biome is still a little bit empty fossils generating just a little bit more commonly inside of the deep dark biome could have been cool to see

Earlier on in today’s video we talked a little bit about the stone chest now it is time to talk a little bit about the pot pot as in another concept art or two that they showed off during the secrets of the ancient city video first off

These bots right here the allure of a sewn chest sliding open may have completely distracted you from these things look at them the shaping of these things is fascinating this definitely fits that ancient city vibe it’s interesting pot h no screaming vases make a lot of noise and vibration when

Broken but they can hold valuable loot is the risk worth it up to you here we see even more concepts for different types of containers that would hold a loot tons and tons of pots here with some kind of ghost looking thing coming out of them would have been

So cool and then even more cool look at where these things are they’re up on top of the walls in earlier versions of the ancient city it seems like the devs were toying with the idea of more parkour inside these cities and more unique storage containers inside of the city

Too not only stone chests but more unique storage containers in general especially some kind of giant stone pot that holds things inside of the ancient city i mean it would have been so cool and look i know archaeology isn’t a thing quite yet i i think it’s

Eventually gonna be a thing and when it is a thing the pots inside of the angel city would fit in perfectly the optimism he likes to think that they intentionally left this one out of the update because they’re going to add it later on alongside archaeology the connections here are pre-work perfection

Inside of the ancient city is the perfect pot inside of the archaeology dig site is a broken pot hopefully whenever archaeology makes it into the game the devs come back to the ancient city and add some ancient pots sitting around the thing could be really cool ancient cities are big they’re one of

The biggest if not the biggest structure in the entire game inside of the supermassive structure there’s a loot like so much loot because of how these structures generate you might have to travel pretty far from home too to actually check this thing out once you’re inside of the structure you run

Around the thing start collecting loot and then sooner rather than later you actually end up filling up your inventory with all the loot considering the fact that the wild update had specific unique items added to the game that are really cool on their own but probably items that you’re not going to

Really have a lot of one point item was the perfect time like literally there was no time better than this update right here to add the bundle into minecraft look admittedly i don’t know if this was actually technically a cut 1.19 feature it was announced for 1.17

Delayed 1.18 you know you know but let’s just go with it okay let’s just go with it because it would have fit perfectly with the concept of the ancient city i’m not impressed with the bundle well check this out inventory is very very full with a bunch of random things maybe i

Like to keep everything like i find every single thing and i want to bring it all home with me well the bundle the bundle would have been the perfect option for the ancient city here i have an icebox chest with a ton of random things like i said i want to bring all

These things home but my inventory fills up so quickly the bundle would have helped alleviate that huge time with items like the echo shard and the disc fragment that were added in 1.19 i really felt that the bundle was kind of a no-brainer it would have been perfect

For exploring and fully looting ancient cities and maybe any other structures that you find along the way i mean after all this thing is buried at the bottom of your world to get to this thing you’re probably gonna have to go through the caves which are most likely as long

As you’re taking things probably going to fill up your inventory too yeah i think i’ve proven my point with this one i don’t think i need to go on this would have changed everything what do you think about the bundle do you think it would have completely
