GURP Minecraft Server – The Chained Islands Trailer
The Concept
Upon joining the GURP Minecraft Server, players are randomly assigned to one of two kingdoms – the Blue Wolves or the Red Dragons. Each team starts on a pair of floating islands in the sky, with a system in place to ensure fair team distribution. Players have between three and five lives, which are randomly chosen. Once all lives are lost, players can only spectate but can still provide valuable intel to their team or the opposing one. Additionally, players can support their teammates by transferring one or more of their lives.
What’s the Plan
For the first two weeks, PvP is disabled, but lives can still be lost. Building in the opposing team’s territory is prohibited, but players can access it to spy on their enemies. Each kingdom can strategize and prepare during this time using their Minecraft knowledge and Redstone skills. After the initial two weeks, new players can only join as spectators, PvP is enabled, and the two kingdoms must decide whether to engage in roleplay, seek common ground, or engage in combat.
At the end of the month, the kingdom with the most surviving players emerges victorious. If both kingdoms have an even war progress bar, they both win and can challenge the system. Spectators, referred to as “viewers,” can provide intel on the game’s events and are akin to reality show viewers, albeit with a darker twist. This includes late joiners and players who have lost all their lives.
Potential Future
If the concept proves popular, the server may undergo new cycles with life resets, map extensions, and fresh concepts. However, if not, it will have served as a fun experience for all participants.
