Hey there guys today i’m going to show you how you can use the compound creator from the minecraft education edition chemistry kit So let’s have a look at this so this is a follow-on from the first video that we’ve put up around using the element constructor and so we’re going to move on to the compound creator now in this case i’m going to take the elements directly from the inventory but If you wanted to do like a complete follow-through you would start from the element constructor to build each of the elements and then you use those elements in the compound creator you’ll get a little bit more of an idea of what i mean about that in a second so just to Make this a bit faster i’m going to use the ones that are pre-prepared so let’s have a look so i’ve hit e to open up my inventory and now i’m looking for the compound creator so i’m just going to search for it there it is there compound creator Now i’m going to make a couple of different ones we’ll do them step by step one at a time now there are about 30 plus um different ones that you can make in this and um i’ll put a link down underneath the video that you can click On to see the ones that are commonly available to you just in case you try and create something and it doesn’t actually work so you know what you can do with your students so let’s start with a nice kind of basic one if i i could search but i want to do First is i’m going to scroll down now in the video using about using the element constructor we can create all of these so it kind of looked basically like our periodic table here so we can develop all of these and if you want as i said if you wanted that full Through experience you would start by developing them first but in this case to save time i’m going to use the ones that are already here so if i wanted to create the compound of water nice basic one so h2o okay i’m going to have to take hydrogen Put that there in my hot bar and i’m going to need oxygen goes into my hot bar as well so i’m going to cancel out now make sure i press 1 on my keyboard because that is where my compound creator is i’m going to place it down I then need to right click on my compound creator and now i can start to construct my compound so what i do is i pick up hydrogen now i have 64 elements here of a hydrogen so all i do is i place it i’m gonna place it in The middle one here and what i do is i right click so when i right click it just places one in i’ll show you here if i was to left click it places all 63 and we don’t want that so i’m gonna take them out but because i want two hydrogens i’m gonna Hover back over hydrogen and right click again and you’ll see there that we have a little two underneath it and then i need one oxygen we’re gonna place that in and then we’ll just see over here that we have created water so i can place that and pick it up there And i have my compound of water let’s have a look at a different one so if i was to go back out and hit my e key to open up my inventory in this case let’s make uh let’s make lie so sodium hydroxide so where’s my So of course i need to know what is what the compound is made up of so i’m going to need as soon as i find it there we go some sodium okay oxygen i already have and hydrogen i already have in my hot bar as well so now i can go back here Okay and i can go that’s made up of one sodium it’s made up of one oxygen and one hydrogen and there we go i have created my thigh so my sodium hydroxide we’ll do one more one that’s slightly you know a little bit more complicated i guess let’s make charcoal So in this case what i’m i’m just going to show i want to do this one because i want to show you that you can just search is if i click here okay um charcoal has carbon in it that’s one that we don’t have so if i just start writing carbon There it is there so i can pick it up carbon hydrogen and oxygen so seven carbon um four hydrogen one oxygen so that’s what i’m going to do so carbon i need seven so i’m gonna go one two three four five six seven so right clicking there okay hydrogen There we go four one two three four and one oxygen and there it is there there is my charcoal i can pick that up and i can place it into my hopper all right guys that is how we use the compound creator i’m sure that you can Think of some amazing ways to use it in your science classes apart from that we will see you again soon see you guys Video Information

A compound creator is a block used in chemistry. It allows over thirty compounds to be created by combining elements. This includes certain items which are available in the game.
Using the compound creator opens up a 3×3 grid, where elements can be inserted to create compounds. By inputting the appropriate type and number of elements, the creator outputs the component in the slot to the right of the grid. All compound recipes are shapeless; unlike the crafting table, the stack sizes are considered. Also, unlike most GUI blocks, the elements are not consumed.

Minecraft is one of the most powerful game-based learning software available to schools today. The perfect part of Minecraft is that students already come with the skills and knowledge of the game. If they don’t, it is highly likely that another student with happily support their peer. Many teachers can successfully implement the use of Minecraft Education Edition with minimal, if not no, experience with the game.
