Good morning good afternoon good evening and good night penny what time you watching this next episode for me Alamance we are starting a new little miniseries a lot of you people have said Avvo we’ve got no idea how to use a command block can you please give us Real basics on how to use command blocks well I am NOT an expert with command blocks but I do know the basics so what we’re gonna do today is we’re going to start a little miniseries talking about the very basics of the use of a command block and we’re literally going to go From how to get a command block through to how to do just a few little commands in that command block but also in future episodes going a little bit further so let’s crack on with it first things first you want a command block now if you’re in standard survival command Blocks are not going to be available to you you need to have certain things enabled they’re called cheats but they’re not necessarily cheese it just means that you gives you access to the console and if you want to get access to the console the best way to do this Unless you’ve done it at the beginning of the game where you’ve enabled cheats when you’ve done your settings is open to LAN allow cheats on start LAN world what that will do is that will just allow those cheats in your key column cheese that cheats in a very Commerce You give you access to the console so what about I’ll allow you to do is to do things like slash give commands etc and what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna go slash give our man surface bomber name right and then we’re just gonna have type command block so you can type Command block and then if you wish you can type a number anything up to 64 for example which is a full stack of command blocks or if you leave it blank you just get one so let’s put 64 bang all of a sudden I have 64 command blocks in my Hand the next thing you’re gonna wanna know how to do is to place the command block with a command block it’s just like any other block right click and place it down the same as if it was word or iron or whatever and then to access the interface you right click on it Again like it’s a container block like a chest or something like that and then this will give you this command console and there are already a number of things that you can start used but we’re not going to talk about those at the moment you’ve also got different things here impulse unconditional nature Redstone we’ll talk about those in a future episode right now we’re just going to talk about some very basic stuff so you can type in here the same kind of commands that you would type into your standard chat but you do not need a slash so for example If we type something like summon and it gives you all sorts of things that you could summon so for example we’re in the overworld if we want to we could summon a blaze it will be very confused because it’s the overworld that that would work press done you’ll notice it hasn’t Actually summoned it at the moment that’s because the command is in there but we’ve not activated that command and what we need to do is we need to activate it to activate it you do it with redstone now you could if you wish place a button directly onto the command Block do that by pressing shift and shoving a command block on there so that’s exactly the same as if you wanted to put a button on another container block for example that will push a redstone signal through that alternatively if you wanted to put something like a pressure plate for Example you could get a pressure plate and again shift put the pressure plate on top of the command block or if you wanted to do it from a distance get yourself some redstone dust or something like that and just put a line of redstone dust as far as you need to go away And then pop yourself a button or something like that at the end of the redstone dust that would do exactly the same thing so just to demonstrate in here we’ve got it saying summon minecraft blaze don’t put Blasi otherwise it won’t work if I press that Bang there is a blaze if I was to come up on top of here that would summon another blaze because the pressure plate has activated it if I come all the way over here and press the button that summons another blaze there you go three blazes in the overworld not quite Knowing what’s going on you’ll also notice that when I press the banner and summon the blaze you get a message come out saying that I have summoned the blaze and it does it every single time I summon the play so if you put multiple commands through a command Block that can actually get quite tiring seeing that inch at one time so what you can do is you can do a game rule that stops that so what you would do is you would type game rule command block output false now what that will do is Every time I now press this button even though the command has gone through the system it won’t actually tell me in the chat so it doesn’t get annoying what does however get annoying is being surrounded by blaze anyway let’s talk for a moment about selected commands now Select command is the way to tell the command block who or what it is going to point it’s commander it also needs to be prefaced with a command itself so for example kill pretty basic command you can then use a selector command by pressing at so you are pointing at and Then you have a few choices I like to use any four so the first one is P so that’s at player specifically the player that is closest to the command block at the time which is activated generally speaking that’s you if you’re the one that’s pressed the button or walked over The pressure plate but it could literally be a player that is miles away then the next one is ah that picks a random player that is currently active in the game so on a multiplayer server for example you could use this to create a Russian Roulette game or something Like that where you can select a random player who is it or who gets killed or whatever it might be that can be quite fun you then have a at a targets all players that are currently live and active on the server so if we were to Run this command kill at a that would kill all the players on the server literally wipe the whole lot oh it’s like genocide and then the other one I like to use is at E at a target all entities so all players all mobs anything that is classified as identity Basically anything that’s not a block we’ll be killed when you run this command so please do be very cautious without a because you can wipe out every living thing that is on the server with this one so which is why it’s quite important that you can be more specific Using a square bracket and you can say type so I want to kill all types of creepers so minecraft creepers I want to kill them all that’s probably a true statement actually press done and that is then stored in this command block I can then come along with my creeper egg And I can love a load of creepers down doesn’t matter where doesn’t matter how dupa dupa do loads of creepers it is a creeper infestation under normal circumstances this would be a very dangerous place to be but it’s alright we’ve got our command block with the command kill the creepers don’t put an Extra e in there and if we press that button all creepers are instantly killed and they drop their drops as well it’s not like you don’t get the drop you actually get the gunpowder from the creeper as if you’d killed it with your own fair hand or if it had dropped from A mob farm from a very high height a really fun and fairly common application of these command blocks is for teleportation now I mean this in single worlds I mean this in multiplayer words if you want to have in your single-player world rather than to trudge across or make her nether hub or Something like that you could set up a chain of teleportation systems and yes it’s strictly speaking this is not survival than in a Minecraft but some people do like to do that because that’s the way they roll iron here this is my magic teleportation device if I look Here inside my command block I’ve got this phrase /tp stands for teleportation it makes a lot of sense @p so that’s the player closest given that it’s got a pressure plate on that is almost certainly going to be the player that steps on the pressure plate And then it’s got a set of X Y Zed coordinates well that’s going to do that’s going to teleport the player to those coordinates if you look here our coordinates are nothing like those corners and if I just walk on oh I’m not sure and it didn’t happen there or maybe I need to go hang on a minute I’m in a completely different area and that is a few of the very very basic uses of the command block there is much much more to tell you about this if very thing specific that you’d like to know about command blocks please do let me Know in the description below and I’ll see if I can’t answer them in this short mini series but we do have some other things to go over in future episodes if you have enjoyed this video please remember to slap the like button the Great’s know you enjoying it and I will Make sure that I keep on making also if you’ve not done it Minecraft is a creative building game created by Mojang. The creators, who go by the names of Notch and Jeb in game, sold the company to Microsoft for a MASSIVE amount of money. Notch is no longer associated with the game, Jeb still is (as I write this) It allows the payer to build and mine in a format of blocks of different types to create ever more complex constructions. As the game progresses, you can combine blocks to create more useful objects to help you on your adventures.
