Welcome to PaladinCraft, a Let’s Play series set in Minecraft Java version 1.20.1. In this episode, our protagonist, Bonjour Batticaster, embarks on a journey to build a starter home, secure a village, and clear some land in the modern area. Let’s dive into the exciting events that unfold!
The episode begins with Bonjour Batticaster performing the most basic of Minecraft actions: punching a tree. Gathering wood and finding sheep to make a bed are essential tasks to ensure a safe and comfortable night’s sleep. Once equipped with the necessary resources, our adventurer sets out to find a village and invite some villagers to join their new home.
Securing the Savannah Village
On their way to the Savannah Village, Bonjour Batticaster encounters a pack of wolves and a group of sheep. They contain the wolves and plan to create a hunting pack to accompany them in future adventures. Additionally, they mention an exciting update coming in Minecraft 1.21, where players will be able to craft armor for wolves using skutes dropped by the Armadillo mob.
Upon reaching the Savannah Village, our protagonist finds themselves in a friendly competition with a villager over a bed. After a small battle of wills, Bonjour Batticaster emerges victorious and proceeds to invite some villagers to their new home. However, before taking the volunteers back, they decide to secure the village from any potential threats that lurk in the night.

Building a Home and Clearing the Land
While ensuring the safety of the village, Bonjour Batticaster shares their plans for the future. They intend to clear out the forest on the island, build a villager breeder, and establish an iron farm. Trading with the villagers will be limited for now, as the upcoming Minecraft 1.20.2 update will introduce changes to trading mechanics, such as discounted rates after zombification. Our adventurer also mentions their decision not to enable the experimental features for the villager rebalance, as this world is intended for long-term play.
With the villagers now safe and settled, Bonjour Batticaster proceeds to clear the trees from the island. However, a surprise encounter with a guardian leads to an intense battle. Unfortunately, our protagonist falls victim to the guardian’s attacks but quickly regains their gear and continues on with determination.

Creating a Farm and Gathering Carrots
It’s time to build a house! Bonjour Batticaster constructs a house above the villagers’ area to keep them safe and provide a home for themselves. They then gather ferns and level out the dirt to create an area for a farmer to tend, which will eventually become a carrot farm. This farm will be essential for the upcoming villager breeder.
While building the farming area, our adventurer realizes they don’t have any carrots. They embark on a journey to find a village where they can acquire some. Along the way, they stumble upon an igloo but find it to be a disappointment. Eventually, they reach a village and obtain the much-needed carrots. On their way back, they come across a pillager outpost, which sparks the idea of turning the village into a raid farm in the future.
Additional Adventures and Wrap Up
On their journey, Bonjour Batticaster encounters a lava pool and collects a bucket of lava for their lava farm at home. They also encounter a wandering trader selling slimeballs and pointed dripstone, which they purchase. Additionally, they decide to liberate the trader, their llamas, and their lead.
To conclude the episode, our adventurer mentions their plans to return to the Savannah village to gather another sheep for breeding and to acquire more wool for the villager breeder’s beds.
And that wraps up this exciting episode of PaladinCraft! Stay tuned for more adventures, live streams on Twitch, and updates from Bonjour Batticaster. Remember to check out their website and social media for more information and links to their other platforms.
