Minecraft Exploration: Matsumoto Castle Recreation
The seventh part of the Minecraft exploration series delves into the intricate architecture of Matsumoto Castle. From the Honmaru Palace to the Ninomaru Palace, the builder meticulously recreates historical elements, bringing the virtual world to life.
Stable and Tamon Yagura
In Part 61, a stable is constructed within the main enclosure, a rare feature in Japanese castles. The Tamon Yagura, a defensive turret, is meticulously recreated based on references from other castles like Himeji and Hikone.
Black Gate and Garden
The black gate, an essential part of Matsumoto Castle’s defense, is built with interlocking turrets. Moving on to the garden, a serene pond and a dried landscape garden add elegance to the palace surroundings.
Arrow Field and Buried Bridge
Part 65 focuses on creating an arrow field and a horse field for archery and horse practice. The buried bridge, though a Showa-era addition, enhances the castle’s aesthetic, separating the outer and inner moats.
Wakamiya Hachiman and Ninomaru Palace
Wakamiya Hachiman, relocated from Matsumoto Shrine, and the Ninomaru Palace are meticulously crafted in Parts 67 to 70. The palace’s intricate layout, from guardhouses to living quarters, showcases the attention to detail.
Future Plans
As the exploration continues, the builder plans to enhance the Ninomaru Palace area and construct additional buildings. The dedication to recreating Matsumoto Castle shines through, promising more historical accuracy in the virtual realm.
