Hey what’s going on guys turtleworthy here and welcome back to another minecraft modding tutorial for forge 1.16.4 in this tutorial i’m going to be covering how we can go ahead and make our block actually drop something so this is actually very simple creating a loop table is is really quite simple However it is all in jason so if you don’t like jason i’m just going to be warning you in advance so the first thing we actually need to go ahead and do is create a new package inside our source main resources and instead of assets tutorial this one will be data Dot tutorial so this is basically where all of the data for our model go so in here we just want to go ahead and create a new package and this will be loot underscore tables make sure you get that right and then we will have blocks And there you go that is now done now there’s actually a few more packages i’m going to create in here right now so instead of loot tables we’re also going to want advancements We are also going to want recipes We are going to want structures And finally we’re going to want tags so these should be all the different packages we’re going to want um inside of loot tables we have dot blocks but we’re gonna want a few more as well so we’re going to want um chests And we’re going to want entities Now inside of recipes we actually don’t want another package in there and we have our structures that’s fine inside of tags however we’re going to want a few packages in here so we’re going to want blocks and we’re going to want Entity underscore types and we’re going to want items i think we you know we’ll have fluids as well um i’ll cover fluids a little bit later in tags so we’re going to actually leave all of these apart from loot tables blocks for now so i have a very handy website here it’s Not my website but this is the website i always use for loot tables and this is a miso dot github dot io forward slash loot table they have a bunch of different data generators predicts item modifiers advancements dimensions dimension type world settings world gen obviously this is meant for Data packs however luckily mods contain data packs you have a data pack inside of your mod and that is literally this data folder so that is your data pack so it’s really handy to actually have that and there’s a few things we can do straight away here so the first thing we Want to do is make sure we have the right version selected so obviously i’m using 1.16 there is a bunch of presets you can choose if you want a vanilla um just you know a vanilla loot table however i’m not going to be using that and you can minimize some of the stuff So first we need to select the type and for blocks we just want minecraft block if you want a complicated loot table like this you’re going to need to sort of understand how it works i’ve never really needed a complex loot table obviously if you need a simple one Then you can just use a simple one but if you have something which is similar to something in vanilla you can just use one of these many many many many many presets that they have since they are very useful for example if i went to pigglin bartering at the bottom i bet This is a very complex loot table so if we just load this up actually this is for entities but i just want to show you how complicated it can be so there’s all these different entries loads and loads and loads and loads so obviously they can get very complex and i’m going To go back to diamond or just change this to tutorial example unscore block since this is the silk touch one and then if we go down to here we want tutorial colon example and squat item obviously make sure you get those right you don’t spell them wrong and Whatever and you will see that if you click on this it comes up with all the vanilla blocks for that version so that’s very useful if you want to use that and i’m just going to click copy and i’m going to go back into my ide I’m going to go into our blocks create a new file example unsplit block this needs to be the exact same name as what you registered your block and if you just click save now i’m just going to auto format it you you can actually see it quite well here it explains uh In the outline what what exactly is going on um i i do apologize for the colors over here i don’t know why it’s just looking like that i believe you can change the color that it uses to highlight the jsons um yeah actually i think that looked better when it was more Sort of um closed together but yeah i mean that’s pretty much it so if i do now go ahead and run the game you should see it drops correctly so yeah i’m gonna go ahead and do that okay so guys as you can see i am now in the game And if i go ahead and break um one of these with a normal pickaxe you’ll see that we get one of our example item and if i just enchant this with fortune i’ll just go fortune free and break it we should get multiple um i actually think i got unlucky there Nope okay apparently it’s only giving me one i’ve probably messed up one of the jason’s but if i go ahead and break this with silk touch we see that we get the block back i’m actually not sure why i’m not getting it from fortune and but if i break it with a Stone pickaxe which is under the level we set Or maybe it’s not under the level set okay if i break it with a diamond axe so the issue is i didn’t do set requires tool which means that um no matter what it can be harvest harvested um so if you set uh dot set requires tool on the properties That should work um so yeah i mean it works pretty well i’m not sure why the fortune isn’t working let’s just break it again oh yeah it worked that time okay i was just very unlucky so i went from six to nine yeah that’s not bad see yeah as you Can see that is uh working so um yeah if you guys did enjoy this tutorial please do be sure to smash your face into that like button and subscribe as well i mean it’s free and uh if you hit that bell you can get notified about when i Next post a video and make sure you don’t miss it um so yeah um i’ll see you guys in the next video good bye Video Information
