Creating the WORST twitch integration

Noita has for quite some time now had a twitch integration built into the game but after using it for a couple of weeks i figured it could use some improvement so i did what any reasonable person would i teamed up with a modder called evacia to rework the entire integration

And also make it a bit more fun and after some very efficient slave labor we made it better the way this integration work originally is that every so often a prompt will show up in the bottom right corner showing four possible events the viewers will then post numbers in

Chat to vote for the event that they want and when the voting time is over the event with the most votes will kick into effect and then the countdown for the next prompt begins and it kind of just repeats like that now this system causes a couple of

Problems firstly since it’s voting the majority always wins and there’s always going to be someone buttered that they didn’t get their way and then because the voting happens in chats chat is literally just going to be numbers and it becomes just impossible to communicate for anyone involved

Secondly the prompt is visible for a very long time meaning that i can see the four possible outcomes way before they happen basically i’ll have a lot of time to just mentally prepare myself for whatever’s gonna happen and it becomes very difficult for any event to

Ever catch me off guard and then lastly since they are on the timer they are literally scheduled meaning that everyone knows when they’re gonna happen and there can never be more events than usual and there could never be less events than usual which in the end means that this whole theme becomes

Very repetitive and stagnant very fast what so how do we fix that first of all we took all the events and put them into tears or dies if you will where the higher the tier the higher the impact so a tier one could for example spawn a bomb on me

Give me a temporary shield or just make me fart and a tier 8 could for example cast the end of everything oh that’s cool but what will this do or spawn a circle of lively concoction or cause a chaos shift more on that later then i connected the tiers to

Separate channel point rewards and also to bits so that you know if you don’t want to grind for channel points you could always just give me your money that’s totally fine with me and then some of the more wild events like projectiles into looks used to have a second timer before they actually

Kicked into effect so that you don’t instantly die if someone redeems it so naturally we removed that and now things like this can happen like start the valley farming just like we have we had a good run we had one until my five million projectiles turn into [ __ ] nukes we did

Now we made it this far so we thought why not just go all the way and we added more custom events a lot more custom events some of them are good some of them are bad and some of them are just [ __ ] stupid but they all have one thing in common

Which is they’re fun now obviously i’m not gonna go over every single event because that would just take forever and we are adding new ones on a regular basis so instead i’m gonna showcase some of the more interesting events and then i’ll show you this mod in action

First up we got horny jail which instantly traps you in a box of pheromone and makes you come yeah we did add come to the game it’s got two variants where it will either target me or it will target every enemy on screen now this isn’t really a super impactful

Event so it belongs somewhere in the mid-tier range next up we got spells to giga black holes which turns any projectile on the screen into a gigantic black hole be your projectiles your enemy’s projectiles or your companions projectiles and gigantic black holes if you aren’t aware tend to be

Very destructive it’s basically a static projectile that will kind of just like expand and then suck in and destroy everything inside of its radius and of course that includes you but the thing about them is that if there’s more than one and they overlap they will suddenly become a lot more chaotic so

For example if you have a one that shoots four projectiles every frame which would be a total of 240 gigantic black holes per second i i think you get the idea oh bad idea yeah i found it though i found it just fine Anyways chaos shift chaos shift is an event that mimics a game mechanic called fungal shift which is something that happens when you eat too much mushrooms and what it does is permanently transform one material into another so for example in a previous run i had all my water turned into thermal

And the way it chooses which material gets turned into what is somewhat random but it’s also limited to a list of materials so the game doesn’t just break when it happens and that’s exactly what we changed for the chaos set because with chaoship there is no list anything can turn into literally

I’ve okay earthquake shot shot this could use some explanation someone has redeemed windy windy makes me shoot air projectiles in every direction every one second or so what’s about to happen is that someone else is about to roll spells to bombs which turns every projectile on the

Screen into a bomb for a set amount of time it’s a very rare combo and it’s only happened one time but as you’re about to see it’s also very efficient at killing it i think this is it boys that’s a very bad combo that’s a very bad combo
