Hello cup coders and welcome to ARS magica tutorials now before we get into the tutorial I want to talk a little bit about ARS magica to some of you might know others might not that ARS magica 2 was released this week actually so it is available for you now you can go and

Download it and install it and start playing it so that brings me to discussing ARS magica to when it comes to this tutorial series I want you to understand that when i started this tutorial series I knew ARS magica two would be coming out soon that’s why I

Did the tutorial series the way that I have in that every of every episode I selected a bunch of a selection of ARS magica devices and items and I showed you how to make them and use them and I was quick about it I didn’t essentially

What i’m saying is i made this as a straight tutorial series just the straight teach you because i knew ARS magica to was coming out soon i wanted to be able to get through the entire tutorial series and be done with it the hopefully amount of time ARS magica two

Came out as you see unfortunately that wasn’t the case but there is good news to that is that i only have two episodes after this one two episodes left to go as far as I’m I can tell so what’s going to happen is I’m not going to do any

Artists magica to tutorials until this series is done that is that means there will be two more videos after the one you are watching and then this series will be done and then I will start on the artists magica to tutorial series now this will also give me an additional

Two more weeks to learn as much as I can about ARS magica too so that by the time I start doing that tutorial series I’ll actually know what I’m talking about in all reality actually it’ll give me three weeks because the first theory first episode in the ARS magica to tutorial

Series will be to show you how to install the tutorial how to install the mod and get it running on your computer so it gives me three weeks to learn how to play the game and reason that’s important is because with this tutorial I’ve been relying heavily upon the wiki

To create all the most of the tutorials now I tended to focus on the items not so much the smells and as you notice throughout this series there have been times where I would try to show you a spell and I didn’t know how to use the

Spell and I would tell you well I’ve got to go check the wiki well that’s because I focused on learning the items and the devices but I did not focus on learning the spells but that’s because there were so many of them alright so with that

Said I’m going to go ahead and get into this tutorial and just move on so soon within the next couple of weeks will we should be starting the arts match go to tutorial I wanted to go ahead and I just wanted to take this moment to head that

Up and let you know what was going on before any of you started asking questions and now hopefully that’ll answer some of your questions that you might have now that ARS magica to has been released all right so we’re going to go ahead and get into that all right

Let’s go the first thing I want to teach you about this week is magic mirror so this week we’re focusing a little bit more on stabilizing the Nexus nest of what this first item will do is it will help stabilize your Nexus and not the Nexus sorry not this thing I’m talking

About the vortex the spell creation vortex when you’re using the the vin tiem crystal to combine spells there goes rain again where else leave it go when you’re using a Venn team crystal to combine spells and one of the previous episodes I’ve taught you about how that can it becomes unstable and it

Could potentially blow up and do all this stuff if you put a magic mirror within 10 blocks of venting crystal it will help lower the instability of vortex and it will reduce the chance of the bad effects occurring okay now the magic mirror can’t not be crafted this

Is not something that you can you know go out and grab the materials for and come to a crafting mentioned make it no the magic mirror is something you have to find an eight hour it’s the only place you’ll be able to find it and now

As far as its effects go only one magic mirror will affect the vortex only one just the first word the first magic mirror if you put any additional magic mirrors around your avenging crystal the rest of them were just there for show they are not going to do anything right

Now I know you I put a box I know I put a chest here kind of throw you off makes it makes you think the dirt sand it wasn’t being greedy but there’s no this is what the magic mirror looks like when it’s an inventory

The next thing we want to go over is the archive bookshelf as you’re traveling around arts magic and into the different towers you’re going to find journals and you’re going to find multiple volumes to the same journal in ARS magica the archive bookshelf is meant for you to

Put those journals on it now only one journal set can sit on an archive bookshelf at a time once you start putting it a journal on this bookshelf it will not let you put any other journal on there other than additional interest to the same journal that’s

Already right now the bonus in this is once you have all the journal entries on this book show not only can you read all of the journals as if they were just one book by right-clicking on the bookshelf but this bookshelf as long as it’s near your vent iam crystal will lower the

Instability of events of the vortex round that’s created when you’re crafting spells it’ll also reduce the effects of bad reduce the bad effects that may occur if the vortex becomes too and stable ok so this does the same thing as that does the other major difference is you can you can have

Multiple archive bookshelves around your vortex and have them all affecting but so that to work all the archive bookshelves foreground your quiz have to have a different set of journals to put on and each one of them has to have the whole set if you’re missing a

Book from your set it will not work it will not do anything to your vortex or not stabilize the deal it has to have all the books in the set on the bookshelf in order for it to work now as you’re collecting your journals and your adding them on to put onto this

Bookshelf keep in mind it will not allow duplicate entry so if you already got journal entry number one on the bookshelf it will not allow journal entry number two to be added now these can be crafted and here’s the recipe six oakwood just go out drop down an oak

Tree and don’t do anything with the box you’ve got 60 pieces of oak wood and three planks now I do believe that you can use any wood for this from the core minecraft unfortunately it will not use the extra biomes with you have to use the core minecraft with which means you

Can use spruce wood you can use jungle wood you can use oak wood you can use yeah I’m drawing a blank on the other would but you can use any of the core minecraft wood here and here the whole piece the whole trunk right up here and here and then the planks down

Here do this and your crafting table and you get an archive bookshelf and that’s it dude that’s that’s how you make that that’s what it does pretty much I just sat down and covered all of these signs that right there the next thing we want

To go over is the Archmage podium now if you watched episode one I did show you the Archmage’s tower and you’ll notice in the Archmage’s tower there are guardians they are tough to kill but it’s worth it in order for you to get the Archmage’s podium once you find the

Archmage’s podium and you right click on it you’ll hear that song and that enables you to use augmented spell-casting which is the full moon shape at the top two more powerful spells keep in mind that some spells or quite a few spells require regions in

Order to be cast now what that means is you have to have a specific essence in your inventory in order for you to cast the spell because it will use that essence up as part of the spell casting okay this cannot be crafted the only place you can find this is in the

Archmage’s tower now I want to stop and I want to take a moment to talk about multiplayer servers when it comes here I have secretly popped on to a couple ARS magica public servers and I’ve noticed something on a couple of them that it kind of makes me as the server

Administrator slightly upset it think it’s not something if I was to run an ARS magica server I would not want somebody doing this on my server what I saw is on one of the servers I’ve noticed that one of the players actually went and found the Archmage’s tile

Podium yeah he went to the trouble killing the Guardians and breaking the podium and then he brought it back to his house in a protection stone area and locked everyone else from coming inside so that nobody could get to the Archmage’s podium except for him that

Made him the most powerful wizard on the server now I understand why you would want to do that but you have to understand only one Archmage’s podium can exist per server period unless one of the administrators and that’s ultimately what ended up happening is an administrator I had to spawn one end

Because this player stole the podium essentially unlocked it away from everybody that’s not being very nice that’s not supporting the community if you’re playing on if you if you get the chance to play on a new artists Magica server and the podium has not been found

If you are that app that lucky SAP that gets to find the Archmage’s podium I implore you don’t keep it to yourself bring the podium back to spawn give it to an administrator and let the administrator to determine what to do with it some administrators may decide

To lock it away so that no players get to use it most administrators will build a public location insights on we’re all players can come and use it and that’s really what should be done with this all right so that’s just my take on that so

We’re going to go ahead and leave that and remove on to the next item the next item is the lectern now this is just a miniature version of that it does not give you augmented powers sorry guys it doesn’t do it technically actually the Archmage’s podium is a larger version of

What according to wiki be that as it is all right the electron this can be crafted now according to the wiki the lectern is meant for displaying books so by theory you’re supposed to have a book in your hand right click on the lectern and it puts the book on top

Of unfortunately and I don’t know if it’s just my setup or if it’s the mod in general but I have not been able to get that to work period so for me the lectern is just a decorative item it has no real world usage for me now like I

Said I don’t know if that’s because my mods broken I could very well be just know my installation but I haven’t been able to get it to work but this can be found in many towers most especially you’ll find it in what I call the mage

Tower if you don’t know what the mage tower is go back and watch episode one of the arse mag of my ARS magica tutorials and it’ll show you what they are what makes our looks like it’s actually one of my favorite towers from ARS magica but if you can’t find it or

If you don’t want to go through the process of finding it you can also craft the lectern it’s very easy 30 quid slabs or top of an oak wood plank in your crafting table make selector since I simple so you make as many of them one

Play a place them around all over the place if you guys are able to get the books to display on this let me know and let me know how your setup and how you managed to get it to work because like I said for me I haven’t been able to get

It to work and the wiki the wording of the wiki makes me think the literally the wording of the mix the wiki says meant for displaying books does that worrying makes me think that it doesn’t actually display books but he intend missing and intended for it to do so but

Just never got around to doing it that’s what that wording means to me I don’t know if that’s the case we’re not unfortunately so if you if you manage to get it working let me know I’m going to move on the next item that we’re going

To talk about is crystal pillar now if you remember back in a couple episodes ago we were talking whadda we have most recent episodes we were covering some of the essence powered devices and I talked about deficit and how some of these can build up a deficit more specifically

Your ARS magica portals can draw they draw in a lot of essence and they can build up a lot of deficit really really quick and I’ve mentioned that you don’t want to have an ARS magica portal being run off of an essence conduit because it draws too much how in the essence kind

Of will explode really means really really quick while this is still holds true crystal pillar can make the essence conduit lasso a little bit longer in that situation because the crystal pillar went set within one block of the item will cause it to take on 400 points

Of deficit less per second so if for instance if the essence conduit is building up 600 points the deficit for a second the crystal pillar will lower that by 400 so it will did only build up by 200 site ok now the crystal pillar effect does not stack so you only need

One crystal pillar in your device putting too near the device does not lower the deficit by 800 per second it doesn’t know if we’re only talking about the deficit game not the total deficit the crystal pillar does nothing to the amount of deficit an item has already

Accumulated it just cuts down on the amount of deficit that it can accumulate okay if you place it more than one block away it will not work for instance if let’s say this chest was in essence powered device if I place this crystal pillar right here it would not affect

That chest at all but because it’s sitting here it will affect on Chester it literally has to be sitting right next to it can be sitting beside it you’re gonna be sitting above it it can be sitting below it you’re going to be sitting diagonally to it that’s still

Within one block it just has to be with a one block of advice in its power ok now this can be crafted it takes five pieces of smooth stone one diamond and one arcane ash and your crafting table to make your quest a pillar all right

And I think that pretty much covers it there we’re going to go ahead to the next thing which is a deficit crystal now if you look at the wiki it calls this a mysterious item of unknown you let that sink in I’m gonna tell you what

It only has one usage in the game as far as I can tell now if you’ve gone and played with played ARS magica you probably came across what we call the mana creeper it is the green the bluest blue colored creeper when this guy up

Next to you and they go and then go boom they don’t blow you up what they do is they suck all your man out of you when they explode the deficit crystal does the same thing for nexus use the deficit crystal on the nexus it sucks all the

Essence power out of that nexus why would you want to do that doms sure somebody has a reason for doing it I don’t I don’t know why you would do it so I’m just going to leave it out there let you know it I would never use it but

You can make this this is a craft item one eye of ender one diamond 1rk Nash and that makes you a deficit crystal now notice I did not put the craftsmanship that is because this is a shapeless recipe you can make this in well you

Don’t see it here but do you know your basic inventory where you’ve got the two by two and crafting screen you can make it in there you don’t need crafting table to make this so you can make this out in the wilderness whatever alright so that’s it as far as our arts

Magical devices go for this episode I do have a little bit few more than i’m going to show you in the next episode as I’m walking out there start working on the spells and they go ahead and tell you how this will work I will in the

Next episode show you the rest of the arse magical devices and the rest of the spells then we’re going to have one more episode where I will go back through all the spells to show you which ones need regions and what Regent they need and that’ll be the last episode for the ars

Magica tutorials then the week after that I should start getting start working on urs magic of two people alright so let’s go ahead and get into this I’ll put this one to the front and there is a reason I’m doing the insect swarm spell last episode I tried to show you

What the insects going did and it didn’t do anything that’s because for some reason I left the insects one spell out for some reason when i logged into ours match to the ars magica tutorial world laughs and so we were in piece of it and this spell is in offensive stuff so it’s

Not going to do nothing and peacefully because there’s nothing to attack the whole since some insects no longer in peaceful mode there’s rain sense now had there been an enemy here and I’m not a creative they would have went and it’s straight attacked them now you notice that is

Diminished mode they don’t last very long in the minish mode so you don’t you’ll want to cut you’ll want to summon them up immediately when you’re fighting an enemy look I just said they don’t last very long ago look rather like you’re just like sitting there like hey

How you doing all right obviously once again this is one of those things that the higher level spell you cast it as the longer it’s going to last this is a summon spell it does not increase its damage rating it just increases the time in which how long it’s going to take now

Like I said if there was an enemy here the as soon as I summon these up they would go straight for the enemy to kill it alright so we’re going to move on let’s go throw this one in here and move on to the next one we are actually going

To need enemies believe it or not so we’re going to need something that’s there that spawn some skeletons no no no no I don’t want that either Tommy’s zombies are safe enough here we go alright guys next one we have drown drown literally it is a water-based

Attack spell throwing it at the guy and damaging with water here’s Johnny so he’s like let me go dry off in the fire all right this literally all it does here’s what the Texas says fill your targets long as water drowning them it’s a water-based attack spell is all it is

It is a projectile you can’t throw it it will fly towards target straight away where you shot it and it will deal some dealings and damage and of course they walk through fire not necessarily but you know all right next one in der bolt now this one is an

Awesome spell what this does is it another projectiles ball this is an indoor base two projectiles well this one has an added potential effect in that it can potentially teleport your victim to a random location as you can tell it doesn’t do it every time it actually has a small chance of doing

That as it says with a chance of random teleportation but it doesn’t tell you that that chance is extremely small chances are you’re going to sit here and kill them outright with the damage that it does obviously the more power you put into it the more damage it does and the

Better fighter chance it’ll have of actually teleporting someone the next one is clairvoyance now what clairvoyance does and now I’ll let you read the text says find your weight hidden treasures it will produce here let me just show you it reduces this which shows you a path to in unto a

Chest that contains items of ARS magica type it shows you where to find the nearest ARS magica chest essentially whether it be an underground base or if it’s a tower it shows point you in the direction of where you can find another job containing ARS magica items now from

My understanding and I had the wiki doesn’t say anything about this but from my own testing purposes it does not point to play chest containing arts match grade items because when you place an item it puts a flag on there saying that when you place the chest down it

Puts a flag on it saying that it was placed by a player and it does the same thing with blocks when you place a block down there’s a flag that gets set to it that says that this was placed by a player well this spell looks for items

For chess that do does that do not have that flag the items in the chest also cannot have that flag alright so that’s that’s belt moving on the next val is for text now this is I want to say be careful with this spell here’s what it

Does it pulls creatures towards you now it’s just not a global thing so let me go over here it is a global thing all takers in a range of this spell will be slowly magically drawn Georgie I want to I want to stress that you have to be

Careful with this spell because think about it if I was not as beautiful ow ow ow ow ow ow ow imagine how much damage I would be taking by all of them suddenly crowding around me so you want to be careful this time I can tell you one

Good usage for the stuff route in the world during the day gathering shoot for your for it’s done a walk into your into your your pasture you don’t have to worry about carrying seas or whatnot you’re magically pulling them with you hope we have a visitor white magician over here

Fighting or zombies so let’s help him curse of the desert we are casting curse in the desert it is hitting one of the enemies welker central desert does is it makes them extremely thirsty it guys take a minute before it will have to do work because it’s got it essentially

Drains there thurs now in Minecraft actually I guess would be oriented raining your hunger thirst is something that you can worry about so much in like in Minecraft so ARS magica adds a thirst leader in the background that you never really have to pay attention to another scholars council that thirst meter stays

Whole until the spell is cast and then that first Jeter drops down and once that first meter drops down to zero you start taking damage and can potentially next tangle of wood and thorns hey hey hey look seriously all right so this is what it does you cast a tangle

Of wooden thorns and it brings up thorns and vines or whatnot and it holds your victim in place this guy cannot leave me he had it stuck right where he is you can’t move now we can so this is in a defensive spell and I just I consider it

A defensive smell because it doesn’t do damage to the enemy but it was what it does do is it gives you the ability to run you cast this on them and they’re stuck in place and then you can run get the heck away alright the next spell is

Parasitic see now this is a fun one see if we cast on that guy right here alright kassin on him if it kills him it plants a tree wherever he is act keep Kassadin I’m until he plants a tree but I want planetary right there this is a

Fun spell I mean it it does damage to them and as soon as it kills them both look at that tree magical but in order for the tree to automatically grow it has to be on dirt or grass I tried it earlier and I made it grow out on when i

Used the spell out here on the ice and it just dropped a sapling the sapling did not grow after a few seconds to sapling popped off the ice so you have to kill them on grass or dirt in order for it to create a tree and it will

Create a tree right where they were where they were standing next hole of the watery grave now I may not be able to demonstrate what this does but i’ll tell you when you cast this on an unsuspecting victim if they happen to go into water this will prevent them from

Being able to swim where as long as this spell is active your victim cannot swim you go into water and a sink like a rock potentially causing them to drown and die so that’s that spell all right now we’ve gotten a five minutes left I’m going to go ahead and grab one more

Stack of spells which I kind of a plan to do that anyways let’s throw these in here let’s get rid of these anyways oh yeah I get rid of that got one more stack of spells boom boom boom boom boom and then next episode we’ll go through

All of these spells and remaining items and then we’ll have one more episode show you what spells need regions from cast and augmented mode now obviously when you cast any of the spells and creative you can cast them in augmented mode without the engine just so you’re

Aware all right first one we’re going to do is parching wind remember i showed you the desert spell it made them thirsty and stuff while parching wind is kind of the same thing let’s show you now he’s thirsty and he’s taking damage now this one works a lot faster than the

Other desert spell next Bell is bound ho castus on yourself you always catch on yourself and it gives you a ho I can use it to make farmland all right now if you want to get rid of the hall and get your spell back just press Q to toss it

Automatically instant get your spell back next wall of thorns now this creates a wall of cactus normally in Minecraft you cannot plant cactus side by side so there’s one level one magic this is the the next we’re going to go up to normal test it this way boom

Creates a small wall I notice how these are is all side by side it creates a wall of thorns now as I said you normally cannot plant cactus side by side so minecraft sees this and it starts removing some of them next augmented ready boof a lot longer wall

But it’s only ever two blocks high but that is perfect for you know a temporary barricade if you have a bunch of enemies coming at you so I pull all the thorns and get behind it they try to stay coming up against the wall they’re going to get injured so

There you go next accelerate Bosley accelerates time around you what it says create a pocket of accelerated time around you so it creates a pocket of accelerated time around you I’m sorry to repeat myself but that’s exactly what it says honestly I haven’t been able to determine fully what it’s really

Supposed to do my thoughts on it is that when you cast a spell it should give you a speed effect but I have not been able to see it do that now this may be one of those things that you know maybe I’m doing it in the wrong game setting or

Something I don’t know but I haven’t been able to see it so but that’s what it’s supposed to be so we’ll just move on next is agility this one does let you run faster to let you jump higher and jump farther it really just raises your agility all it does spell reflection

Guys I can’t stress this spell enough if you can get on a public server and you can grab hold of this spell right from the get-go this is a spell that you are going to want to have in diminished mode it doesn’t last long it’s like an

Instant spell boom but what it does is any spells that people put cast at you when it hits this it’ll be bounced back to them so somebody cast a model no fire bolt hits you it’ll bounce that firebolt right back at them so they’ll take the

Damage not you so as a new player on a nards magica server this spell will come in handy because you know there’s going to be other arms magicians on that server with augmented spells who are going to try to kill you quickly because oles exist this spell can help next

Swift swim does exactly what it says it makes you swim swiftly look I get out of there hold on awesome pretty big holes around here at all all right so we’re gonna come over here we’re gonna jump in the water and i’m going to show you just

How swiftly you can swim on this all right go away go away all right so now we are swimming at the normal rate of speed on my cast a spell look how much faster we are swimming now my god you can get loss of this speak to one more

Time go and this works underwater too and poof it worn off now you see how much slower it is all right next healing ring wonderful wonderful spell when you’re playing on multiplayer servers in a group of people like say if you’re going into battle against someone else

Or if you’re just in a group of people out fighting month mods and some and a bunch of you get injured fine cash healing wing and stand inside it anyone inside these rings will be healed simple as that awesome spell for for multiplayer it can also help you in

Single player to think about it you get yourself a bunch of dogs and they get injured put them all in one place cast healing ring and heal them all that’s that simple last but not least summon shadow now guys I’m telling you we have the technology for cloning here it is

It’s called Simon shadow it literally summons a shadow of yourself kind of like a clone look at ya and he’ll go out and they’ll kill or fight anything he’s got all the same abilities that you have or don’t have all the same village you have and he it is a summon spell and

Just like all the other summon spells you can only have one summon spell active at a time alright guys let me go ahead and throw these in the chest over here that will be it for this episode I want to thank you for watching as always a like and share lets us know
