Hello its Meg I’m sure the only reason you’re here is that you want to build some more custom trees so if you’ll just follow me I’m going to be doing a tree for each season so the first season we’re going to be doing one is spring this is going to be a cherry blossom or a Sakura if that’s how you pronounce it I looked up that pronunciation before doing this Video and if I butchered it I am so sorry but these are the blocks that we’ll be using I have a spruce if spruce wood here with a dark oak staring slab only because those colors match if you wanted to use a plank instead of a wood So the textures are the same that’s up to you that’s probably what I would do but if you wanted the bark look go with spruce and then I have a dark pink which is pink terracotta and then we have the glazed pink terracotta for a lighter Pink and then just pink glass so that was the box that I will be using I’m just going to start at the base and we’re going to create a giant curve going in one direction I like to build on diagonals so that’s what I’m doing but I want to have several big branches Coming from the very base I have no idea how big I want to make this so I’m just going to pick a size I think they do look better when you do connect them like this however another option would be to connect them with stairs or Something like that so that it creates a slightly thinner line and you could even do these branches entirely out of stairs it’s really up to you that might actually look better for a smaller scale to try something like that but if you were gonna do that you might want to use A plank where they used solid blocks too just so they all look consistent but since I’m using this wood I’m just going to do it that way and let’s go ahead and do another branch this way make sure it’s not creating a straight angle because that was something I found out I Was doing kind of strange when I was creating it I was making my branches just on the same angle so try to vary it up a bit once you have the big branches in place we can do some stairs and slabs to create smaller branches I of course Usually use fences for the really small branches but you could always start by doing a few slabs here and there just imagine that the branch is getting thinner as it goes out so the slabs is a good way to start to make it go thinner you can even use it to Branch off and make these little branches we just want to fill up this entire tree if you find slabs are too difficult for you to build with and survival because I know they are because I have done it myself then you could always just do branches entirely with The fences I find these much easier and honestly they look better to me even though the fences got holes in it it doesn’t look like your typical branch I just like how thin it is so this is something I generally like to do for branches but I also do like to mix in The to do a few slabs here and there and then have it transition into a fence so that it looks like it’s being thinner and thinner as its going out now you’ll want to make sure you get your branches covering every spot you want your leaves To go so you have to think about where your leaves are gonna go so the more branches you have the fuller your tree is going to look also make sure you’re adding just a little bit of height to the tree these trees don’t need to be Super tall but we do want to have some straight branches going up just a few so that will actually have a place to fill in some leaves just remember the leaves will need to be touching all the branches right now it’s kind of looking like a mess of blocks but I’m really Still just thinking about where I want leaves to go because I don’t want to have floating leaves on my tree so if you want branches that spread out more do that if you want them to be shorter and closer to the trunk it’s really whatever you want that’s the nice thing About trees you can just make it fit your space and whatever you’re working on we’ll try changing the curve of this branch so that it goes much lower and don’t forget to add the roots to your trunk if you want some alright once you have a tree shape you’re happy with mine Just looks kind of like a pesto of blocks but it works we’re going to start with the leaves and this is the pattern that I’m going to do for the leaves we have darker blocks and lighter blocks so I always think of the darker blocks like the shadowy parts of the leaves or Flowers in this case so they are going to be on the bottom parts of the in chess you could do however you want to do this if you want to do all the darks first and then add on the lights but I’m just going to make sure these Darker ones are going either on the sides or on the bottom part of course there is no right or wrong way to do this that is just the way I’m doing it so I’m going to do that on just a few of them and it’s also good to have some Connected on just the corners just because it makes it look more organic I guess because sometimes things just look blocky when they’re all connected and on top of that we’re going to do a few glazed terracotta again make sure you’re just spreading them out nice and evenly We have lots of air spaces make sure that you can see the branch through these it’s much harder to work with solid blocks because of this you still want to be able to see the branches through them so just be careful about that and then of course on top of that You can add some additional glass so this looks pretty nice right here so this is what we’re going to continue doing all throughout and I will get to the glass panes in just a moment but first I just want to get all these blocks in place so we’re just gonna Repeat that darker blocks on the bottom brighter blocks on top glass here and there and don’t forget to leave lots of spaces for the branches to peek through if you’re not sure how far away from your branch you want to place your leaves or flowers I would recommend Trying to keep it within three blocks distance there is no magic number for it I just picked one and just same three blocks distance is pretty good you could go farther but I think if it gets too far out it’s going to look very disconnected like it’s not even attached To a branch so that’s what I would recommend I do like how mine is starting to create this umbrella effect that was actually accidental but that’s also a good point that as you’re shaping the branches you can kind of see the overall shape that the tree is going to be so if You want it to be more rounded make sure your branches are actually creating that rounded crown shape as you’re building it making the branches is almost like creating a floor plan just like you would for a house kind of helps you see the overall shape before adding all the leaves which is Kind of cool here is how our tree is looking that actually looks very nice I do say is done myself but if you wanted to add an extra bit of detail you can mix in some glass panes and this is what I am going to do personally so that we Have just more texture going on since these blocks are so light you’re not really going to see them very well against these lighter blocks so I’m mainly going to be placing them against all the darker pink blocks of course you can place them other parts too but I Just think they really stand out much better against these darker pink blocks so if you wanted to spread some of those around just to add some extra detail you can do that and there’s our tree it looks very nice For summer we’re going to be doing a very simple pine tree nothing too fancy but it’s something that you don’t typically see you down in Minecraft so I thought I’d try it so for this one I’m going to be using spruce stairs slabs and fence matched with an oak wood I think these colors go well together but again if you didn’t want to do the bark you could just go with the planks but for this one I would recommend using something with a bark texture because it’s just going to look better on this tree and then I’m using birch leaves Just because I like the texture and I think it matches best what a pine tree would look like I guess you could use spruce leaves but I just prefer the birch in this case so this tree is really simple we’re just going to build straight up using the oak wood as tall As you want it to go we’re mostly as tall as you want to go because once we reach a certain point we’re going to switch to a spruce fence and finish off with just a few extra blocks going straight up now I’m going to start creating some branches but we’re not Going to be carrying branches all the way down we’re going to probably have them go from the top of the tree about halfway down and then they’re just going to be a very long trunk below that so what I’m going to do is mostly be using the fences for these because their Branches don’t need to go out very far but we’re going to imagine that there is half of a sphere or half of a ball on top of this so I’m just going to create branches again in the shape that I want the leaves to go so if I want the leaves To extend out over here then make sure you put a branch there I want for sure to have a cluster of leaves at the top but I also want to have just a few branches on the sides with clusters of leaves I don’t want them to be too close To each other though because I want to have plenty of gaps to make it look like these branches are just really spread out so I’m going to separate them by one or two blocks at least and you can branch off of that branch and buy some additional ones there really is no right Way to do this I am just making this up as I go but you can already kind of see imagine if you had a cluster of leaves here a cluster of leaves their leaves all around up there so just think about things like that as you’re building out These branches and something else I like to add is just a few extra fences on the sides ones that will not have leaves attached to them but really that’s just for depth in detail no other reason to see single ones so here’s how my branches are looking before we add the Leaves let’s go ahead and add the roots and I’m just going to use the stairs and slabs for this and it could be as big or as small as you want but pine trees generally don’t have very many roots that you see above the ground so I’m Just gonna keep it very simple and just like that so it looks like a straight tree that gradually goes into the ground now we can start adding our leaves and this is the easy part you just find wherever you have a fence and start placing leaves Make sure to attach some on the corners just to add more of an organic appearance to it and just start placing them try to avoid blocking them too much so there’s a large flat area make sure that there is lots of depth going on and Yeah I don’t know what else to say you just keep spamming leaves make sure to check your tree from all angles because sometimes you don’t see a very flat edge until you look at it from another side so right here I think this could use a Little more depth so I’m going to add a single block there and I think that helps break up all those shapes that we’re really flat to me and just gonna continue adding these leaves up towards the top the top of the tree again I want to look like almost like a little dome On top of this tree and then these branches down here are just little clusters of leaves it would be kind of cool if you could add pinecones to this but honestly I don’t know what block would work well as a pinecone possibly a chain block but I didn’t actually try that I honestly don’t know I’m just speculating if you wanted to try to add something that looks like a pinecone you could hang those from these leaves as well of course it would have to be something that is able to attach to a leaf block so I guess you guys can be Creative with that and I think we can call this done you just have to make sure that your branches have lots of gaps in between them so you want to see the sky in between there because generally the branches are more spread out on these trees or not all clustered Together and again you’re just going to do the about the top half the tree and just have the rest of it go all the way to the ground I think this looks pretty good for what it’s worth you this next tree for autumn is going to be Very bright and colorful I’m going to be using the same wood that we use last time the oak wood with these spruce stairs slab and fence to go with it because those colors really do blend well together and then I have two different sets that you could use for Leaves if you wanted to have more red tree there are so many red blocks you could use but I would advise at least using the netherwart red concrete glazed terracotta and glass that’s what I’m going to use I really like the another work for the darker parts especially and if you Wanted to make a more Orange dull tree I would use this orange terracotta Reds smooth red sandstone and then orange glass this tree looks really good with both of these but I’m going to be demonstrating using the red one we’re going to start this tree with just a Very short trunk using the oak wood it doesn’t need to be super tall because these trees do not grow very tall and then we’re going to go ahead and make the top of it goes as tall as you want this is going to define the height of Our tree it can go straight up or it can have a slight angle because we are going to be filling it in with branches later on so I think I’m going to make mine this tall again you don’t want to be super tall it’s not going to be like a Towering spruce now when you’re in survival this might look tall but trust me this is not that big for a tree anyway once you have the main trunk done and then the top laid out let’s go ahead and add our roots this is what the stairs And slabs will be used for they’re not really going to extend out you just want them to stay right next to the trunk because these trees don’t really have a big root system but that’s good enough for those now the rest of the branches I’m just going to be using the spruce Fence floor and they’re just going to go straight up for the most part you can add an angle to them if you want to like this so it stair steps up but for the most part we were just thinking about them going upward now these trees Essentially are just a giant ball on a stick or at least that’s the way I look at them so we’re just going to make sure that our branches are forming that very spherical shape around our tree and that might take a lot of branches to do this but Just we want to fill it in as much as we can to get that nice rounded shape of a tree again we are trying to make sure though that most of these branches are going straight up since that’s generally how these trees tend to grow where the Branches just go straight up and they’re very narrow which is why we’re using the fence so just remember wherever you place the branch is where you want your leaves to go so these ones need to be pretty full so I’m going to try to make sure my branches are going pretty much Everywhere if you look at it from the top you can kind of see it filling in all the gaps and once you are happy with your branches they might look something like this very vertical very rounded so now we’re going to take all of our blocks and just start creating a Gradient pattern so we’re just gonna create this gradient with the darker block being like the shadowy part of the tree the red concrete being the mid-tone and then I’m going to use glass for the top parts for now I do have this red glaze here caught up but I’m not going To use that just yet because honestly we may not even need it I’m just going to see how it looks without at first and then I’ll show you how it looks with it after that you can kind of like see how you’re outlining the shape of the tree With another wart however you want to do this you could do all the dark blocks first or you could just do one branch at a time and do everything really up to you don’t forget that you can disconnect a block attach it on the corner if you Really want it to stand out for these top branches here I’m not really doing the red nether wart as much since that’s mostly showing up on the edges so up here in these middle ones I’m really just doing the red concrete with the glass mixed in not the glazed terracotta Yet we’re not ready for that but yeah I’m just doing these two blocks up here because it’s supposed to be the top of the tree and you’re probably not going to see as many shadows up here at least that’s my thinking as I’m building this So here’s how my tree is looking so far doesn’t look too bad I think I could probably add some darker blocks in some areas I feel like it’s missing some and make sure again you’re adding some depth make sure there isn’t anything superflat you can fly around and really See if you see something that stands out as being really flat just add some depth to it but this is actually looking pretty good and I do have some glass panes if you want to mix those in to just have some extra details I just love glass panes on trees they Just look so good and I don’t know why so go ahead and mix them in if you want so here’s how my tree is looking without any red glaze terracotta in it and it looks perfectly fine as it is but if you did want to add just an extra highlight You can go in here and replace some of those red concrete with the glazed terracotta honestly I think it looks fine either way and again I would recommend not using any more than this is technically for blocks even though one of them is glass panes technically for blocks I wouldn’t use any more than four different textures otherwise it just gets to be very overwhelming and very noisy and you also want to make sure you’re putting them in groups you don’t want to be spreading them out too far and it will look noisy so that’s another Thing to think about as you’re coloring something like this now I know I didn’t really do that with the other ones as much but since these stand out so much I want to make sure I’m not speckling them in but I’m actually putting them in small groups over here some of this red Better work could be replaced with this actually because it seems like it’s too high so let’s do two there one two there and there’s how it looks with the red glaze terracotta mixed in so it still looks good but yeah you just have to be careful with adding too many textures But this looks fine as it is and just if you see here’s how it looks if you did use the orange palette I think both look equally beautiful but you just follow the same techniques pick the colors you want I actually do kinda like the orange one more in this case even though Generally I like red trees better but I don’t know why this orange one works really well they’re just dull colors just make sure you’re not using the bright oranges like the wool and the bright concrete I just don’t think those oranges really fit with what an autumn Tree is usually they’re more dull colors so just keep that in mind as you’re choosing the blocks that you want to use for your leaves you for our winter tree we are going to build in the Evergreen despite the lack of green blocks that is what it’s going To be we’re going to be using the e spruce wood for this one with the dark oak slab stair and fence and then we’re going to be using snow block glass pane and of course a layer of snow let’s just get started with the trunk this is going To be like your typical spruce tree just think about it that way we’re just going to build straight up however high you want to go the taller the better honestly but we’re just going to build up a certain height then we’re going to cap it off with this fence to make it Look like it’s being skinnier towards the top and then we’re just going to start adding our branches something I typically do with spruce trees or evergreens is I do like to use slabs for the lower thicker branches but it’s really however you want to do it I’m Going to be doing some slabs here on these lower branches and then I’m going to use the offenses for the upper ones but really there is no right or wrong way to do this and what we’re going to do is we’re gonna think about the cone like shape of the trees so obviously These lower branches are going to be longer than the ones up there so I’m thinking about making these two or three blocks long and then maybe up here we can start using some fences make those free blocks and then maybe towards the middle here we’re gonna make those two Blocks away from the center this is three blocks but it’s technically two blocks away from the middle anyway just think about making them shorter as they go higher once you get to this part they shouldn’t go any farther out they won’t block they should be very skinny you Only need a couple of those up there so something like that and just start putting in lots of branches everywhere just thinking about the cone like shape you’re making you honestly could do the whole thing with the fences you don’t have to use the slabs at all but if you Did want to make thicker branches like this you could use those towards the bottom and I’m just going to continue making my shape no right or wrong way to do this just make sure you see this imaginary triangle shape happening with your tree once you get all your branches In place at my looks something like this you can’t also go ahead and add some roots using the slabs and stairs use ones don’t have very big roots but I’m just going to do a couple like that you can’t even put them on the corners if you want however you want to Do it actually that looks fine just like that now we get to start adding our leaves and just imagine this tree is in the middle of the coldest place in the world yes it isn’t evergreen but it’s going to be completely covered in snow and ice so you’re not going to be able To see the green and leaves instead they’re gonna be completely covered with the snow so just pretend like the snow as your leaf walk and we’re just going to place it wherever the leaves would appear and it’s okay to have a lot of the branches covered in this case Because it is going to be covered in snow so typically when trees are covered in snow like this you don’t really see their branches especially with spruce trees the needles pretty much cover most of the branches anyway but it is nice to have a few gaps here and there but for The most part most of the branches will be completely covered but they do help you lay out where the leaves are gonna go initially so they do serve our purpose even if you don’t see them all our evergreen is turning very ever white for the top of the tree I think I’m just Going to do a single block on the very tippy top and then a few on the sides you don’t want to stick out on the side of this branch because that just makes too much of a bump up here actually I think I’m going to remove that branch Sometimes it’s okay to just put the snow blocks directly on the side of the tip you just want to look really skinny up here so if these branches you think are going to make it look to you wide just remove them or just don’t build on the Sides of them that would be my advice for this top section where you have these senses and here’s how our tree is looking with the snow blocks now you could do this exact same tree by using the spruce leaves instead of snow blocks that is if you didn’t want to be Completely covered but honestly I think the snow makes it look much more magical so I’m just going to cover the whole thing and snow I did try this with using spruce leaves and I didn’t think it turned out as beautiful I mean it looked pretty typical for A spruce tree but yes if you want to look much more magical and completely covered just use snow blocks like I’m doing okay you’ve got the snow blocks all in place now we’re going to take our snow layers and just start layering them wherever you think you want to add extra depth You don’t have to add these but of course it does add some different depth and layers to all of snow so really up to you how you want to use it if you want to mix it in you can it’s pretty easy to once you got all your snow Layers in place now comes my favorite part we’re gonna be adding the white stained glass pane and we’re just going to be attaching those just to the bottom parts of some of these lower branches and this will look like icicles just dangling off the edge of these branches If this tree is going to be in a cold environment where it’s completely covered in snow then it must be covered in ice – and again I’m only attaching these to the bottoms of the blocks because the icicles are going to be hanging downward not off to the side so Just make sure you’re doing that I don’t really care if they connect to other blocks or what but just as long as they’re on the bottom parts and once you have as many icicles as you want then you have your nice wintery spruce tree this actually turned out really pretty I Hope you guys liked this horse seasonal trees I did what I mentioned that if for winter you could always just take any of the trees I built here and just take off the leaves entirely and there you have a winter tree but I didn’t want to do Something special for that so I went with the other idea let me know which tree is your favorite I honestly can’t decide because they’re all so beautiful but let me know which one you guys like the best I’m glad you are enjoying these tree videos they are a lot of fun to Design that’s all for me for this video and I hope to see you again in another one sometime have a great
