Hi guys, it’s Sandi and welcome to another episode of my NerdNailSeries. You guys really wanted to see a minecraft inspired design, so I came up with a really awesome and colourful one to share with you! It features the creeper, steve, tnt, and a pig. This mani is perfect for you girl gamers who love to play minecraft. So let’s get started! The first design we’re going to be working on is the pig. Begin by painting your nail pink. Now, to create the pig’s face, we need to use pixels which are square in shape. I like to first use a dotting tool and place little dots where the pixels will go. This really helps with placement and neatness. So dot 2 white dots and 2 black dots for the eyes, and 2 dark pink dots for the nose. Then use a very tiny paint brush from the craft store to paint little squares over the dots. Take your time while you do this and have both hands rested on the table. If you don’t like the look of some of your pixels, you can easily make them look a lot Better by going in with your base color to straighten out the sides of the squares. And there you go! Up next is the TNT nail. Begin by painting your nail red. Then use a white striper to draw two horizontal lines across your nail. To easily do this, keep your brush still while you rotate your finger instead. Then use the striper brush to fill in the gap. You could also stippling the white in using a dotting tool if you find that easier. Once you’re done, give it a few minutes to dry. Then use the tiny paint brush to write TNT across the white in black polish. I like to begin with the N so I can centre it in the middle. Then I add in the T’s on each side. Again, another trick that will make your placement a lot neater. Your TNT nail is finished. The next design is of Steve. Begin by painting a nude base. Next use the small paint brush and brown polish to add his hair. This is pretty simple to do, just make sure you go over the hair with thin layers of brown polish a few times to make sure it’s opaque. For his eyes, I’m going to be dotting them with white and blue first. Once I have the perfect placement, I’m going in again with the brush to turn them into square pixels. Honestly, this is a lot easier than it looks. Before I started this Minecraft design, I was a little worried about making such tiny squares, but it’s not as hard as it looks. Again, if you need to touch up the sides of the pixels, just go in with the base color. The mouth is pretty simple too, just connect two short lines with one long horizontal one. And there we go! The last design is the creeper. Begin by painting your nail green. For the eyes, I’m dotting them again, and then turning them into big squares. Once you’re finished, paint a rectangle coming down from between the eyes. Then add a vertical black line on each side of the rectangle. Again, perfect the squareness of the pixels by touching up with the base color. And that’s it! Just seal in your new nerdy nails with a fast drying top coat. Make sure you’ve given your designs a few minutes to dry prior to this because you don’t want all of your hard work to smudge. It’s also important to use a big blob of top coat over each nail and just lightly glide it across the nail so you’re not tugging on the design underneath.
