Heys Emma 42 here and today I’m going to be covering some the more useful of the redstone contraptions you can have here now we’re gonna use the piston as a yeah as an example here so we have our piston we place it right here so you have your

Basic on/off switch so this is the on position this is the off position alright so that’s pretty simple but what happens if you want your piston to be off when it’s in the on position and on when it’s in the off position now it’s not specifically useful with pistons but

There are many other things that you can use so we place another piston here now this is how you’re gonna make an inverter so you had your basic on/off switch here have your redstone a block a redstone torch right there it has to be exactly how I place it or it will not

Work a block here block there redstone torch here now that’s that’s fine that that that shuts off that is supposed to do that so then we place another block here actually we’re gonna have to move it back our piston a bit and a block here and a little bit of wire right here

And there you go so we have our piston is in on position when the wire is off but then when we turn it on the piston goes off that is just one of the many useful contraptions you can build our writes back again and now we’re gonna be

Working on something even more fun a piston door now you can use these for secret doors little cave entrances I’ve used one pretty successfully in the past to keep a base well hidden until someone blew it up but that’s another story so here we go we have to have a to space in

Between here so when the Pistons activate the door will actually shut um so we have our basic block that we want that now you can make the door out of anything go on I’m just using wood for absolutely no reason now usually you a block right here and you know run run

It like this but you have to have both running at the same time so what you’re gonna want to do here to do this let’s take that off here and here there you go there there and there bring it under here there you go so

That’s the basic just how to set up so it activates both Pistons at the same time there you go hook that up and bring this across now this this can be pretty easily buried I might do a later tutorial on how to bury redstone very well without having it be noticeable but

For the sake of easily easy visibility I’m just gonna do not bother and the fact that I’m on water alright so then when you place it you know on off switch you and there you go there’s your piston door and you can obviously put up some wood here don’t see anything you know

Just to fancy it up a little bit nice little wall now this can be done on a smaller scale but 4 by 2 by 2 is good I like it it’s nice and it’s pretty easy to do and it just looks like this cool sliding door so yes here’s here’s your

Open door there’s your fail door now this is another thing this actually brings me to a good point here so what happens when this happen when your one of your doors is out of range it’s pretty simple everyone knows you just take it or Peter

Now when you have it on a delay like that it’s don’t right-click this or else it will set it away and then you’ll have a weird door opening thing but yeah so when you set it have it set on the first setting it just instant closes so it’s not a problem

So there’s your open door there’s your closed door and I’ve fallen in the water like a complete so yeah that is how to make a piston door hey we’re back and we’re gonna be building the most complicated builds of the day but it’s probably the most

Helpful all right so let’s say um you have your little chest here and you want to protect it and you know here’s the ground this layer up here’s the ground and yeah you want to protect your little chat so you can do here this is the

Simple way is you can plop a piston there and there and we have a skeleton hello skeleton why don’t you just come over here and get your face whooped huh huh I’m gonna come get your face book yes you do no but there you go alright so now that we’ve dealt with the

Skeleton alright so then what we can do here is you know put down anything there you go so but this doesn’t look all that natural there’s a one square hole in the ground that kind of makes things a little obvious you might have people stealing your chest in that situation so

The way to cover this and make sure that you know your block is flush with the ground like that is to build one of these alright so how you do this is have a piston here and a piston here now let’s say you want to have this piston

Pushing but pistons will not push another piston if it’s activated so this one and then this one I try to activate this one but this one won’t won’t work because this one is activated and so if therefore it will not push so what you’re going to want to do here to fix

This is have a separate time of activation so like we have a wire out here and you know go has to be moved back a little bit there we go this is in the on position and then this one’s in the on position then turn that

On and there you go see when they’re activated separately but then the thing is they won’t pull back like that so what you’re gonna want to do to fix that problem is do this I’m gonna have to have a separate activation so how you do this is gonna have to actually you need

A little bit of space for this but it’s not too much comparatively um alright so there we go we have our little redstone here bring this out here now you’re definitely going to need a repeater for have that on the first setting just to you know make things a little easier so

Then we bring this over here and there we go so that’s how you’re gonna want to do that and then you put a lever there so then perfect so then that activates that and then when you turn it off it reverts to its original state okay so

Then what you’re gonna want to do with that is well you want to have a block here that you know pushes pushes up and fills in that hole there right this whole thing would be pointless without that block well that block will not move with the other ones it doesn’t move horizontally

With this one so what you’re gonna want to do to fix this is you need a second piston on top of here and then a block here so you have your square here all right so to just make sure this is properly activated is you need to do

This you know just like in the earlier one with the piston door so I’m gonna build that up there and give this a try and there you go you have your contraption right here now I’ll be back in a second to show you how this fills
