What is this diamond swamp trick people are talking about well mathematical geniuses have dissected the minecraft java code and found patterns connecting clay patches with diamond ore patches at the end of this video i will link to an in-depth analysis by matthew bolen who really goes into the nitty-gritty of this method So in a swamp find the middle of one of these clay patches turn on chunk borders by pressing f3 and g make sure you are facing south that’s the positive set now from the middle move seven blocks double check that the set coordinate is increasing and dig down as you can see we Are in creative mode right now but we will try it out in survival as well later oops and there we go so depending on your specific seed it’s either six or eight blocks from the center of the clay patch and since 7 is right in between it usually works like a charm In my next test i didn’t find any diamonds that’s normal and happens when other blocks generate and override the diamond oars it could be bedrock gravel dirt or air blocks you know like in a cave and maybe other blocks as well here’s an example of when you bump into a chunk border Instead of crossing it turn back to the opposite side and continue counting from there four five six seven et voila this method was discovered in the nether update version but what about older worlds the experts are not sure so let’s test it out this is my single player Survival world which i started in version 1.12 but i didn’t travel to the swamp until 1.13 the updated aquatic so i guess this is a 1.13 swamp when you are doing this in survival i would recommend bringing night vision potions okay let’s try this out count seven blocks towards the south Drink a night vision potion cover up the hole so you don’t drown when digging straight down like this i prefer a two white hole in case you hit the ravine or worse told you almost at diamond level now yay it actually works in older worlds as well i should clarify that since this Method was discovered in the java code it will probably not work on mobile tablet console and so on but if you bedrock people know of a similar method that would be super interesting to hear about alright then just pillar back up and maybe sleep on the way oh i realized i didn’t check The chunk border it was just pure luck we didn’t cross one okay let’s try this one we are all the way down at bedrock level but no diamonds you can try to dig around in the north-south directions but this time we will return empty-handed okay one last one this is right on the Border so maybe choose another to be on the safe side this one seems fine oh a ravine huh i can actually see the diamonds down there this is so cool a total of 18 diamonds in this short amount of time if you want to go in depth of how this method was calculated Check out matthew’s video here to the left it’s long but very interesting and if you are in the mood for something else the video here to the right is pretty good thank you for watching and i’ll see you next time Video Information

There is a way to calculate where diamonds will generate – using clay patches! Experts who dissected the java code found this surprising trick. — it doesn’t seem to work on Bedrock editions (mobile, tablet, console etc) —
