Eccentric Emerald – ORIGINS! (Minecraft Mod Showcase) SPECIES ABILITIES!

Oh it’s a floating diamond sword just kidding Welcome back everyone to another minecraft mod showcase and today we’re gonna be checking out the origins mod and this mod has been super popular recently because there’s these guys from the dream smp which i’m sure you all know about um and they made a whole new smp called

Origin smp and this mod is basically what they use in that smp so what this mod actually adds is it basically adds like a bunch of different character kind of roles that you can take when you first set up your minecraft world and they give you a bunch of really cool

Abilities so let’s check them out also if you guys have any ideas for mods that i should showcase please do feel free to let me know in the comment section all right so there are 10 actual uh how would you call them ability guys or skill sets or

Or characters or whatever you want to call them in the mod itself and then there’s also a human so there’s this kind of ten in a way so when you first set up your minecraft world this is the screen you’ll be greeted with and it basically lists out all the

Different characters and their abilities and you can pick whichever one you want to start with and if you don’t want to start with any you can just pick human so human is the standard in minecraft it’s just literally regular minecraft no abilities no weaknesses and no strength so the first actual

Really cool one that we’ve got here though is the endearian so we’re going to give ourselves the endearing para for a second and if i press o on my keyboard it’ll open up the origin and this is basically the description of what your character can do so the endearian

Is born as sons and daughters of the enderdragon and durians are capable of teleporting but are vulnerable to water so you can teleport whenever you want you may throw an ender pearl which deals no damage allowing you to teleport so the two keys that i have bound at my

Abilities are g and h there’s a primary and a secondary ability key i think there’s only like one ability for each character though so only the primary one works but um so i press my g key here as you can see it throws an ender pearl and there’s a little

Cooldown if you look beside my hotbar there there’s a little cool down uh for how long you have to wait to throw another ender pearl so you can just kind of keep tossing them it’s a really short cooldown so you can just kind of keep going it’s really really cool

Though so you can teleport a bunch with this basically so i’ll actually go to survival to show this properly because um some of the abilities require whoa i’m low on health okay there we go um so yeah some other some of the other uh things that the enderman has associated with it

And is hydrophobia so this means you receive damage over time while you’re in water the same way endermen actually do in minecraft so if we stand in the water here we slowly take damage because we’re in water like like an actual enderman would so that’s that’s really cool that’s kind

Of to balance it out because enderman is a really really good uh character set to have i guess so let’s check this again and we’ve got scared of crowds or gowards i don’t know how to say that you’re afraid of pumpkins for a good reason so i’ll show you what this means

Basically when you have a pumpkin and it’s not like you place it down you’re like oh i’m so scared because there’s a pumpkin there it’s not that kind of thing it’s actually if you were to place the pumpkin on your head you disappear you go totally invisible

So that’s actually that’s an ability i would say not not a weakness um that’s that’s really really cool so you go totally invisible if you’ve pumped on your head so um obviously it will take up your armor slot but i think it’s worth it to be invisible to be fair that’s really

Really cool and so that’s another ability the endearing has and then the final one is slender body so you can reach blocks further away and entities further away so we could in theory i’m gonna actually um summon husk so the regular reach distance in minecraft is like roughly three blocks i believe

You can reach further with the enderman so this is further than i should be able to hit right now i’ll show you the block comparison in a second it’s a lot easier to show it with blocks and but just to show you that you can do with entities too and this is the

Distance with an enderman or the anderian right so i can reach about we’ll say one two three four five six six ish blocks which is pretty crazy if we go to human we can no longer reach that it only goes to maybe like three or four blocks and

That’s it back to endearian can reach further away so endearing definitely uh a really really cool um skill set to have and the next origin we’ve got here is the merling so the merlin basically i’ll have to go into water for this and the merlin works the same way as a

Fish really would kind of so we have gills which means you can breathe underwater but you can’t breathe on land so right now i’m using air bubbles because i’m above the water my head is above the water and even if i even if i stand in the

Water like this it’s not enough my head has to be under the water for me to breathe and now the the air bubbles are refilling which means i am no longer suffocating or drowning or whatever and but as you can see you do move a lot faster in water so

Your vision is also uh perfect underwater so you can see underwater the same way as a person will be able to see um on land pretty much so it’s like you have permanent night vision underwater uh essentially and um you can move super quickly underwater as well

Which is this here uh no it’s fins it’s it’s this so your underwater speed is increased as you can see i’m moving like super quickly underwater you may break blocks under water as others do on land so basically uh people will be able to break uh sand this quickly on land

Uh but if we go in the water we can break it the exact same speed like it’s the exact same thing underwater uh which you can’t usually do in minecraft it usually takes a good while to be able to build or to to break sand underwater or any block

Underwater and so that’s a really cool ability to have and i think that’s everything right um oh yeah like water when underwater you do not sink to the ground unless you want to so you basically stay in like limbo here so i’m not pressing anything on my keyboard right now

And so you just stay in the same little um elevation of whatever you’re at until you press your shift key to go down so you can control pretty much wherever you go underwater really easily and so you’re basically aquaman that’s that’s what this this character is you’re basically aquaman next up we’ve

Got the phantom and the phantom uh gives you this little like aura effect thing so the abilities of this guy is right so this is half human half phantom offspring these creatures can switch between a phantom and a normal form so your skin is translucent right so i’ll show you what that means

This is what you look like um with your translucent skin the only thing is you burn in daylight you do burn in daylight so i’m gonna hop in the water here for a second so this is what you normally look like now by default it puts you into your

Phase mode so this is your phase mode or your like invisible mode whatever you want to call it and and this means that you won’t burn in daylight so if we get out of the water here we’re not going to burn and but if we go into our translucent mode like this

We do burn so yeah you want to stay in water or you want to stay invisible during the day time pretty much i’m trying to say here and so yeah that’s that and then there’s also phasing so as i said well phantomized you can walk through solid material except obsidian

So as you can see i just walked through this block right now and you can also press shift to go down blocks as well so i’m pressing shift right now and we’re going down into the world so this will make mining like super super easy you can find caves

Ridiculously easily and by basically having x-ray under underground like this it’s it’s really really cool actually and so yeah you’re basically up to like no clip through everything in minecraft and except obsidian as it said and i think bedrock as well maybe and but yeah that’s the phantom he’s

Kind of really ridiculous i think this might be the best one uh honestly if i’m if i’m to guess that which one might be the most op and so photology you begin to burn in daylight if you’re not invisible yeah so as i said you’ve just stay in your invisible form

If you don’t want to burn in daylight and fast metabolism being phantomized causes you to become hungry that’s true so you do lose your saturation as you can see i’ve lost a lot of saturation really quickly because i’m the phantom and then finally there’s fragile so you

Have three less uh three less hearts of health than humans so regular minecraft health obviously have ten uh here we only have seven so yeah you are kind of nerfed a bit because phantom is super op if you don’t nerf the saturation and the health thing and but apart from that phantom is

Ridiculous like being able to phase through blocks and be invisible all the time is so nuts next up we’ve got the elytrion and this basically just gives you an electron i’m not even gonna lie and so this is um okay so electrons are uncomfortable when they don’t have enough space above

Their head so you’ll look at what that means later on and you have the lighter wings without needing to equip any so if we’re going to inventory here we have a lighter wings on but there’s nothing in our chestplate slot so we have wings anyway

But we can also look as you can see i have a cape and electro wings at the same time which is kind of crazy um but you can also run a chest plate too so you can wear a chest plate and an elytra at the same time which is nuts

Um so if we go back into this uh gift of the wins every 30 seconds you are able to launch about 20 blocks up into the air so we press our ability key we go way up into the air and this will charge every 20 seconds so we can kind

Of like a boost when we’re starting off flying and stuff which is really really cool um there’s also aerial combatant so you deal substantially more damage while in a lighter flight so if you’re gliding and then you hit something it’ll do a lot more damage that’s just what that means

And and then there’s also need for mobility you cannot wear any heavy armor armor with protection values higher than chainmail so you can’t wear um iron or diamond or netherite so those three are off the table you can only wear leather gold uh chainmail those are the only three you can wear

And then there’s claustrophobia so being somewhere with a low ceiling for too long will make will weaken you and make you slower so you get slowness if you’re under a ceiling basically where you don’t have access to the sky that’s what that means and so you don’t

Want that you want to stay in the open and then this brittle bone so you take more damage from falling and flying into blocks so and i don’t have my thing recharged but i’m going to create it just to show it here um so we go up here and

Back to survival that’s a lot that’s a lot more damage than you would usually take in my graph like that that should have only done like maybe four or five hearts but you take a lot more because of this class so and the next origin is blazeborn and this

Basically turns you into a blaze is what i’m trying to say here so latest citizens of the blaze the blazborn are naturally immune to the perils of the nether so you have fire immunity you’re immune to all types of fire damage so you don’t take far far damage from lava or regular fire

Anything like that so you’re you’re totally immune to fire and nether inhabiting you so your natural spawn will be in the nether you’ll the first spawn you get when you first join the world will be in the nether and if you die you’ll respawn on another two and then there’s burning wraith one

On fire you deal additional damage with your attack so if you’re on fire and you’re attacking someone else you deal more damage that way so if you’re bringing around a feeling to steal with you to let yourself on fire when you’re attacking someone you’ll do a lot more damage so

Just keep that in mind and then it’s hot blooded so due to your hot body venoms burn up making you immune to poison and hunger status effects then hydrophobia you receive damage over time while in contact with water so we can test this out here spawn him

In and we’re gonna set ourselves on fire as you can see we’re totally immune to fire uh but we can hit this guy so one two three four five six six hits to kill him those weren’t even critical hits so six oh that’s a lot of damage actually

That should have only done six damage but it did 21 or two i want to say that’s that’s crazy dude that’s so that’s so crazy um so yeah this is a really good class like a really really good class to have and the only thing is the water and the hydrophobia

Is quite a downside the same thing as the enderman and you take you take damage in water and it’s just not it’s not ideal to be fair uh but apart from that blaze is pretty opie it’s pretty ob apparently this morning another thing could be kind of annoying i think but um

Apart from that i think it’s a really good class and next up we’ve got the avian and the avian pretty much gives you a slight little speed boost you’ll notice my fov just changed a little bit there and so the avian race lost uh has lost

Their ability to fly a long time ago now these peaceful creatures can be seen gliding from one place to another so featherweight you fall as gently to the ground as a feather would unless you sneak fresh air when sleeping your bed needs to be an altitude of at least 86 blocks

So you can breathe fresh air so if you wanted to sleep you would have to be oh they should wear 62 right now so we’d have to be 20 blocks higher in order for us to be able to sleep in a bed and otherwise you can’t set your spawn

Point so and then there’s also like as i mentioned you can see even right now you’re going to glide to the ground like that so i’ll go to creative and show you this as you can see very slowly glide down unless you press your shift key then you’ll go down faster

And and there’s also uh tailwind so you’re a little bit quicker on foot than others so you’re slightly faster than other people so like it’s like speed one or something i think it’s not super quick but it’s definitely faster than a regular player would move um so yeah it’s it’s like a very

Mobility kind of bass class and then there is also uh obvi paris paris i don’t know how to say that whenever you wake up in the morning you will lay an egg so you’re basically a chicken you’re a chicken who wakes up in the morning and lays an egg at your feet

And so if you want to use that you can it’s going to happen anyway so you don’t get a choice in it but you’re going to lay an egg basically if you’re if you’re this origin so um congratulations anyway so vegetarian you can’t digest any meat

Um that that could be that could be a downside you’d have to be a farmer basically you’d have to like grow crops to to sustain yourself right like live in a village or something um but you can’t kill animals to to to refill your hunger so that’s kind

Of a downside to be fair but um the mobility is really really good so i think this is this is a very very good class to be and so i think the green ones uh like the really as you can see this is an impact here so obviously

Three of them would be like high impact so they’ll have a lot of change on gameplay and but the lower ones will have like very little change on gameplay so this one i would argue is probably more just because of um the gliding thing that’s a huge change

To gameplay like you take no fall damage whatsoever um yeah i don’t know that’s it’s it’s kind of it’s kind of strange also you’re faster than regular which is a huge gameplay change i would say but anyway that’s that’s avian anyway it’s a really cool one though i think

That’s one of the better ones oh that’s a light tree and never mind and the avian though is really really cool i would say so the next one here is arachnid and arachnid my fov went back to normal as you can see and arachnid it says basically that their climbing

Abilities and the ability to trap their foes in spiderweb make the arachnid perfect hunters so climbing you’re able to climb up any kind of wall not just ladders so i’ll show you what that means you basically press your w key into whatever is in front of you and you just

Go up a bit up up on it so um yeah really really useful to be honest you can just climb anything in minecraft it’s really really good and some master cobwebs you navigate cobweb perfectly and are able to climb in them when you hit an enemy uh in melee they

Get stuck in cobweb for a while non-arthropods stuck in cobweb will be sensed by you you’re able to craft cobweb from string so i will get another husk and if we hit him he now is stuck in our cobweb that we just hit him into

And he stays there for a while as you can see the things we’re charging here the white bar and this one we can use our cobweb effect again and when we hit him uh he also turns he gets the the illumination effect and then we can just basically see wherever he is

Like even in the darker through walls that kind of thing and so yeah they’re kind of stuck once they get into your so we can move through cobwebs normally but he he obviously can’t so um yeah that’s that so we we can navigate cobwebs we can also climb up in cobwebs

All that good stuff so we’re just basically a spider to be honest and and this guy is screwed if we hit him like if we hit if we hit this guy with her with our fists he’s just he’s just kind of done he’s just stuck there he cannot move

So that’s that’s like really op in that kind of in that way so unless like it was a player with a sword or something that could break the cobble with their feet or place a bucket or something a water bucket and to break the cobweb they’re just

Kind of like they’re just kind of like screwed they’re just like yeah he’s just there you know and so yes you’re racking it i’m gonna kill this guy because i don’t help to fight him properly and there’s also carnivores so your diet is restricted to meat you can’t eat

Vegetables so it’s the absolute opposite of the av in the avian can only eat vegetables um but er it can’t eat meat so it’s a herbivore uh arachnid can only eat meat so it’s kind of more um and then fragile you have less than three you have three less

Uh hearts of health than humans so it’s the same as um i think it was the phantom so you only have seven hearts because either otherwise arachnid would be op and so they have the nerf with the less hp and that kind of thing so yeah that’s a racket a really really

Cool one as well um i would argue that it’s probably uh again two bars of impact instead of one but um it’s it’s not my mod they can they can say what they want um anyway so the next one is the shulk right and the shulk related to shulkers the

Bodies of the shulk are outfitted with a protective shell like skin chocolate inventory you have access to an additional nine slots of inventory which keep the items on death sturdy skin even without wearing armor skin provides natural protection so as you can see we have here four extra bars of armor uh

Without wearing any armor itself so we’re already like protected basically this is the same as leather i think or even maybe a little bit better than leather and without wearing any armor in the first place which is really really cool and so if we press our g key here

It opens the shocker inventory and you keep this stuff on that so anything you place in here you keep on dead so if you die this remains here your inventory will fall out on the ground your stuff that you keep in here will stay with you even when you respawn so

You could put a diamond sword in here just in case uh so if you did die you’d respawn with a diamond sword in your inventory basically so that’s really really good to have that’s like a huge thing um and then there’s also a strong arm so you’re you’re strong enough to break

Natural stones without using a pickaxe and so that literally just means you can just bam you could you don’t need a pickaxe you know it’s it’s really op like that i would i would say this is probably the best this one or the phantom might be the best one i would say

Just because uh it has so many abilities and like very very little um weaknesses so it’s also unwieldy the way your hands are formed provide no way of holding a shield upright so that just means you can’t use a shield it’s not a huge thing you know and like shields obviously in minecraft

Are very useful but you can’t um but you just uh shields obviously are very useful minecraft but you just can’t use a shield with this class it’s not even a huge thing you can use your offhand for anything else um it’s just not the shield you just can’t use a shield basically it’s

The only downside i would say and and then there’s also a large upside so you exhaust much quicker than others this requires you to eat more so yeah your saturation goes down a lot faster so the only downside really is that you can use a shield and your

Saturation goes down a lot quicker those are the only two things the rest is like all positive so i would say shulk is probably the best because it has like very few weaknesses and like really really good strengths and you have natural armor like that’s crazy so the next one anyway

Is the feline and the feline with our catalytic appearance the feline scare creepers away with the dexterity of cats they always land safely on their feet and i don’t know what that means but anyway acrobatics you never take oh that’s yeah okay no i know what that means

You never take fall damage no matter from which height you fall so just no fall damage whatsoever basically stronger stronger unless you’re able to jump higher by jumping while sprinting and you have one less heart of health than humans so it’s just nine hearts instead of ten it’s not a huge thing

And we’re not under the effect of a strength potion you can only mine natural stone if there are at most two other natural stone blocks adjacent to it creepers are scared of you and will only explode if you attack them first nocturnal you can slightly see in the dark when not in

Water so i’m gonna grab these here creepers are scared of me you can just you can just come here boy you can just chase down creepers like that and you can also see in the dark uh with you basically night vision so i’ll do slash time set night

As you can see we can see really really well because we are um this is like this is like that of night and it’s still really bright uh just because we’re our class so that’s really good and i’ll go back to daytime and now i’ll show you what i mean with

The pickaxe thing so i can’t mind this but i can’t mind this because as it says um weak arms when under the effect of strength you can only mind natural stone if there are most two other natural stone blocks adjacent to it which this one does not have so

We can mine this one can’t mind this one come on this one and this one and this one now we can mine this one now so you just can’t mine a stone if it’s on like a flat plane if there’s too many blocks around it you

Can’t mind the stone at all but now we can because and there’s like two spaces on either side so yeah it’s it’s kind of a downside so mining could be kind of difficult but apart from that you’re flying i would say it’s not a huge thing and i think that’s

Everything there’s also you can’t see under um you can’t see in the dark underwater basically and other than that that’s everything i think so yeah so yeah that will do it for this showcase on the origin spot i hope you guys did enjoy if you want to
