EPIC 11-Yr Minecraft World Journey!

Hello my it’s toy and this is my new Minecraft 1.8 series which is a new let’s play I’m starting for 1.8 where I’m going to be doing 1.8 sort of stuff and the two key differences between this and my regular Minecraft fbx let’s play which has been going on for over 100

Episodes and you should totally totally check out uh also 5 C looks like it’s going to be the world name hello I’m FX toy cat and the thing I’ve always found interesting is not what you can do by starting new but instead by seeing how

Far you can take one world and how much you’ll learn today marks 11 years since I hit create new world on the Xbox 360 I was just 17 and had yet to go through so much but all of that has happened and this world has been there with me

Through it all today I’ll share the ups and the Downs of the update Adventures world and the full story of what exactly has gone on here and how I’ve met the goals that I set myself all of those years ago over a decade now anyway the

Important thing I need to say first is that there has been an update to the marketplace version of this world it came out last Monday and so if you go there you can download this copy for free if you already own it and likewise if you want to look around it but don’t

Currently own it you will get updates for free for the rest of time too which is a very good deal if you ask me but with that said let’s go back to where it all began because I started this world with the goal of truly conquering Minecraft at the time it meant something

Very different to me I was still living in a cave after all and even when I made a second house it was a dirt Hut but it was on the other side of the world and to a lot of people building that dirt Hut into something better which I

Eventually did don’t worry this is the most beautiful structure in imagination but building better things is the sole goal for m but for me one of the important things is kind of Conquering the world itself and this is a strange thing to Define but let’s put it this

Way I had two separate bases which I could have just walked between following the terrain naturally along the river like I can do right here or I can build something like this a road right between them this is something that has existed in the real world for as long as the

Romans have been around but the idea of building infrastructure and better connections across your world is a great way of showing that this world is yours you live in it and the Minecraft world kind of wait why am I invisible what happened there weird anyway one of the

Things humans have always done is assert our domination over nature and that’s something I always like the idea of doing in Minecraft and so even though at the time the mountains over there were unfathomably far from my spawn point I know that’s ridiculous to say now because we can get around Minecraft so

Much faster but genuinely this was a minute plus walk across the entire world and even when I had a lovely road which made it nice and easy and low f it was very very straight and very very easy to walk it was something that I still

Wanted to do better by so I went to the top of the mountain which my cave house was located in and I built myself a rail going all the way across the world at the time this was a sky rail it was just 12 blocks away from the height limit can

You imagine at one point in time this was almost as high as you could build up and this was as low down as you could see whereas now you can obviously see what that actually looks like it’s crazy how far Minecraft has come but the basic

Idea of this world has always stayed the same and that was Minecarts for a bit and then it was the Never as you can see and then it was the never plus Minecart rails okay seriously if you want to climb Heights quickly without using fireworks or an elytra all you need to

Do is get yourself some powered rails and all of a sudden your problems will go away and indeed my Minecart 2o but yeah the idea of using antra or the never or the never combined with antra or Minecart has clearly become the dominant form of Transport but the idea

Of always having the best form of doing that has been something that appealed to me this is why I have never right tools they’re not always the perfect level of upgraded but they’re the maximum level of upgrade that I’ve always wanted to have so that I can do my projects that I

Want to do at their optimal efficiency and indeed when you look around the world you’ll notice these are basically everywhere one of my favorite things and the story that I am telling with this world is that off connection between multiple biomes and builds and points deliberately far enough spaced apart so

That there are actual different sections of the world which then have to be connected up by infrastructure in terms of like yeah I have roads around here and sometimes I’ve got ice Pathways or Nether Portals or end connections all of these things do exist but also in terms

Of connecting them uh logically speaking I have a big wood Farm that’s chilling over here in a part of the world that feels very different just for being on the other side of this hill and so as you look around my world and notice that all of the sections feel very different

And unlink to each other you’ll notice the common theme uh whether it is uh that of collecting all of the blocks whether that is of building a giant sphere out of stone that sits in the sky whether that is of building a sugarcane farm that goes all the way to the new

World height whatever it is the goal is kind of this triumphant uh making something that didn’t exist there before I a big believer in kind of mankind Supremacy a lot of people uh care about uh the environment above all else for example I think we should care about the

Environment as it serves us as humans and whether or not you agree with me in the real world it’s definitely true in Minecraft right you get to make the world that you want to live in and so this is something that I am very very very mindful of when I build something

In my world it is very rarely something that’s meant to replicate nature and when it is replicating nature it’s in a very different way like at look at my volcano for example I’m still quite proud of this one it is a giant covering of the natural Minecraft land with NRA

I’ve did this not because I wanted to have a volcano I I would argue this isn’t what a normal volcano looks like but instead because I wanted to see just another Bland giant Hill in my world you can see I’ve got a mountain range over there a mountain range over there and I

Had a third one here I figured I would make each of these more interesting in their own rights to a human perspective so I flattened off that mountain I’m covering that one in Redstone weirdly enough and this one I covered in never and indeed made into an active volcano

Which is maybe having a little bit of a spill down the side this is something that is always my goal to show humans over nature and uh you know it’s it’s something that I have I feel like is a very weird opinion that like you know in

The real world who knows for sure how fully it’s formed but in Minecraft you get to develop and you get to play with these ideas as much as or however often you like and that’s something I’ve always enjoyed all over this world basically wherever you go you can see

This exact same idea of playing out uh you know my struggle against Minecraft generation the you know humans versus nature you can see the the the struggle of connecting it all in an infrastructured way to make it feel like it’s one world despite the many biomes

That exist within it uh however I think there is also something else that the story this world is telling is not just that of what I choose to build of in it everyone is choosing what to build in Minecraft every day and I I do think that you know your slowly building a

More and more unique world as you stick to the same one if you are hesitant about staying in a Minecraft world there are many uh great resources that I would encourage you to check out to say you should definitely do that by the way having a world that you care about and

Which grows and ages with you is something that I find to be real compelling uh but the other thing that is worth mentioning is that this world has been there for me throughout basically everything which means when I have a goal for a Minecraft Project I

Don’t have to think oh I’d better start up a new world get to the Diamond Tool level uh go do all of that stuff instead I come right in here and I work out where that idea fits sometimes that idea fits perfectly in with everything else like my tower bridge replica that is

Very very good or like my giant potion bottle that I built to store potions in uh sometimes these things fit very easily into the rest of the world almost seamlessly so and sometimes they don’t and sometimes it’s a regret like this giant Blast Furnace I have I think it’s

Just weird sitting there it’s a it’s an odd part of the landscape that I maybe in 5 years will come to accept but right now I still feel oddly about but sometimes the challenges of building say a replica of one of my favorite board games uh has to be done in such an

Environment that it has to be built very very far off from the rest of the world but still the joy in connecting it all together the joy in having one big Minecraft world is something that I really like but still no matter how challenging it is or no matter how

Poorly it comes out it becomes a part of the world nonetheless and this is something that I’ve long been an advocate for in real life so this is a giant map of my world that I built over a very painstaking series of streams a while back it is 225 maps that lays out

The entirety of the let’s play World from the old Xbox 360 boundaries plus an extra uh you know thousands or so blocks around the edges just for good measure you can really see an interesting terrain mesh here however what you can also see is a bunch of builds which sit

Off kind of lonely away from the rest things that I don’t feature very often because honestly I’m not that proud of like whatever the heck that was meant to be uh is is a great example or the Katan board or like even the ibx lettering

That I did forever ago before I knew how I probably should have done that um ultimately there are so many projects in my world uh that maybe if I was starting from scratch I wouldn’t do again maybe if I had some grand master plan for how

This was all going to be I wouldn’t build it but I think that’s kind of reminiscent of life I um you know sorry to get kind of real of you in a let’s play but the I I mentioned before many times when talking about scars that you

Might wish you didn’t have scars you might wish that when something bad happens you could just think yeah it’s no big deal really um you know like I I feel like being sad about things are such a wasted set of emotions and uh being long-term sad about things is

Especially wasted uh but ultimately it’s something that happens to you and anything that happens becomes a part of the tapestry of your life you don’t see your life as clearly as I can see my let’s play World by the way it slowly has to be updated over time but you can

See the years and years of builds and biome changes and everything else that’s happened in this world and it’s very much reflective of how these changes happen in your real life which is why the update Adventures has not just been a way for me to update you on what’s

Going on in my let’s play world but indeed on life as well I remember very clearly now talking about my first big breakup while going you know while farming sugarcane in the let’s play World I’ve used the let’s play and indeed this world as a a whole as an

Opportunity to share some of the highest highs and the lowest lows this is not just 11 years of me playing Minecraft with the exact same goal and vision that I had all that time ago I think past me would have been mindblown to see what

Current me is doing and I think that me in 5 years will be mind blown in the exact same way that real life happens that way some of the biggest and best moments have happened to me and they’ve inspired entire new gigantic sections of the world while some of the lowest lows

Have also got me retreating into Comfort Minecraft and working on some big bulk building projects to allow me to kind of uh think about and process it there is a surprising amount of that and so this last week I mentioned very briefly here on this channel via a community post and

Indeed via the let’s play last week that my mother passed away I really was not ready for it I’ve always thought myself to be fortunate to not ever had a direct death in the family I don’t know how funerals worked and I always thought that was kind of like a benefit in a

Weird way uh but it seems the luck ran out and my mother uh the only person who raised me my closest familiar relation uh probably uh that ever have to see at a funeral uh is no longer with us and there is a lot to that that I’ve spent

The last week just kind of dealing with I think something that’s been surprisingly helpful to me has been talking to as many people as possible in youa and honestly taking the week off as much as I uh humanly could even though that obviously uh didn’t work but at

Some point that has to return to normal and a lot of people are very cautious about like how do you ever return to a a normal and ultimately in my personal life and even on just like a logistical level like I’m having multiple conversations of day about things that I

Never thought I’d have to be involved with you know stuff like burials versus you know Tombstone plots versus crematoriums and our multiple services and like oh do you want the limousine pickups and all these sorts of tum questions that you really hope that you’re never going to have to uh dive

Into and that you think are almost ridiculous to answer I am doing that on a day-to-day basis but I think emotionally the extreme Pains of like oh God this is actually real isn’t it are at least partially subsided and now um I had a big realization while going on a

Long walk the other day which is that yeah the point is not to be broken forever I mean that is the temptation to step on a plug and say ah this hurts so bad that I I never want to do anything again I might as well die uh but

Honestly as bad as a thing may be and as bad as you might want it to uh be in your reaction ultimately it is about going on in some level and that is why after years and years in moments where people say I’m done with this I’m starting again that’s never been my

Attitude towards this Minecraft world and so after the last week where I’ll be honest one of the big Reflections that I’ve taken from this is kind of that of mortality the one big positive that everyone seems to take when there is a death in uh their family or in people

They care about is ultimately just how real mortality is if you have to get that from a celebrity sure if you have to get that from a family member dying sure but ultimately you don’t have like 60 70 more good years you don’t live till you’re 80 maybe 85 90 and they’re

All great years where you can do everything you want to ultimately though time is so limited and that is something uh that I really kind of Drew from uh the way that my mother lived life and kind of like assuming like yeah uh you know just always push this off to

Tomorrow push this off to there but a lot of those things that have been pushed away will never uh be done and so I look at my own life and I think like what is in the same boat of oh God I would regret not having done more of

This if I could look back on it and honestly it’s working out the things that I really get uh you know extreme passion from here on YouTube there are lots of videos that I really like and I’m really proud of but there are some that are really near to the top and

Especially when it comes to uh you know like encouraging people in survival it’s something I really get extremely good feelings out of the reason I’m making this video about my 11-year-old let’s play world is because I hope it inspires somewhere out there right now to stick

To their survival world in a way that I genuinely think will benefit them the reason uh one of the things that I really loved and really have decided to double down on is I love people enjoying scorched a brand new survival experience in a lava desert or hex and so many

People say that the reason they got into super flat or Ultra flat survival was because of this channel I love that I am encouraging people to have these new Minecraft experiences that I desperately wished for myself 10 years ago and so I it really is a reminder that even though

I hate the marketplace processes it takes months of bureaucracy to once you finish the map which is a very long process to actually get it out and in the hands of people even though I don’t like the process and I think yeah I’ll just get around to doing that in like

Another 6 months there are some things that are very important that I want to make sure people have and so there’s been a couple of big projects that I’ve been like H we’ll get round with that soon that I am now not putting off any longer I am starting this week I’m going

To make sure that I do all the things I need to to make sure the videos are the ones that I enjoy and would genuinely want to watch myself still however I’m also going to be working on the next map which I’ve had planned for a very very

Long time now by the way I actually have two separate ideas for two separate things uh but rather than just saying like yeah we’re going to get around to it when we get around to it I realized that it is something thing that I enjoy so much when people get their hands on

That why should I wait why should I uh put it off another day because I don’t know when that day if that day will come and it’s a scary thought to think about that but it’s also a reminder that ultimately what are you doing anything for you really need to stop and analyze

That about basically anything in your life sometimes and why are you building the thing you’re building in Minecraft sometimes you can get easily caught up by seeing amazing builds online and thinking the whole point of Minecraft is to build the best games it’s like a competitive sandbox right but ultimately

As you can see right here I spent hours building this replication of the tu1 tutorial world you could argue there was no Creative Juice on this and actually it’s one of the worst looking builds out there but also I am filled with an immense sense of joy and I know that

Many people connect with this and are reminded of their Xbox 360 days because while the Xbox 360 tutorial world might be important in the blocks themselves there is much more importance in the memories that people hold and indeed the stories that are told specifically about this world and everything in it and I

Think that is the more important thing in your Minecraft world building things that are pretty with no context is actually uh something that’s entirely fine if that’s how you want to enjoy Minecraft but I also think there’s something fun about this for example uh this is something I started building a

While ago the idea was uh you know just that the ocean level was so low that if I wanted to build uh this at the same level it would end up in the water but also isn’t an underwater tutorial World kind of a way of showing how it’s

Dilapidated over time something at one point was the epitome of Minecraft building uh this Village made out of wood and stone uh genuinely didn’t even keep up with what Minecraft themselves have built let alone like I mean seriously look look at everything here and compare it to a modern Village um

But it hasn’t held up to state with what Minecraft has built let alone what the community thinks is good there is a real uh kind of dilapidated apocalypse vibe that you get looking at this that you would get whether or not the water was here the water just makes it a clearer

Point the same thing is true for this island which used to be by the way entirely dark oak trees and so I took all of the dark oak trees and I made a giant tree out of them the same is true for my desert temple which is made out

Of wool instead of Terra Cotta because of the kind of age reference to that but it’s also true of the stories for things like I destroyed my entire desert every single one of these torches was placed there to remove the sand above it because it stopped functioning as a

Desert when the biomes changed and I figured if it’s not going to work as a desert it shouldn’t look like one either there are silly stories behind basically everything that you do but because stories last so much longer than any other actional set of words by themselves they are the most valuable

Way to actually preserve something and although I think uh you know like ultimately you might say toy cat you don’t care about preserving things that’s why you destroyed your mountain or made this I think that some people take preservation to mean we should never make changes no no no I think we

Should be making changes all the time the future is always better than the past new is almost better than old however it’s also important to recognize what old old once was and so when you decide that you want to take a village and keep it safe from pillages you

Should do so in a way which actually makes the village more interesting not in a way that just you destroy it and start again every single time I have a big disastrous build I might try to fix it but I try to fix it in ways that doesn’t remove the original character

With only one big exception which we of course never talk about and so it’s entirely irrelevant to this conversation but um yeah every single time I’m looking to build something I would like to add to the story and to the tale of my world and it’s something uh that

Although the tales and trails update was very big on telling you about I think ultimately it’s the thing we as players should be doing my Armory which was just originally a way for me to enchant with multiple tables and have multiple sets of gear is now a way for me to store

Every single enchantment in Minecraft one of the big goals I have for the next year is to fill this place up and indeed uh you can see looking around here uh that this place has is the exact same uh basic location but building on top of it

And building new bigger better things is always the goal for this world uh this is the same looking let’s play World you might recognize year on year on year but every year it should get better and that is the goal that I have this has been a
