Island Survival was an idea I had after checking out some special Minecraft seeds which put you on islands with cool features. Unfortunately, those were all for Bedrock as it seems Bedrock seed generation isn’t as refined as Java.
But, what I did find was a couple of seeds that start you off on a small island in a large-ish body of water. This is one of the two seeds.
This video, along with a dozen or 2 more lack player voice. I had no mic when I started recording and had to figure out ways to communicate.
The imposed limitations for this play, which is Normal-Survival, are: * Set the island as your base. * Keep to the ‘ocean’. * You may invade the beaches, follow river paths inland, and explore other islands. *Pieces of ‘shore’ which are cut off from the main land by a river which connects directly to an ocean are considered island for exploration. *You may travel and exploit inland as long as you can see the ocean. If you get so deep you can’t find the ocean then you’ve gone too far. Climbing a mountain to ‘see’ the ocean doesn’t count as seeing the ocean. *Exception for the in-land rule is general testing exploration for specific resources. (So far, I’ve only had to do this for one resource to see if it was feasible to find. It wasn’t, so I dismissed that avenue of search.) *You may dig under your island and into the sea floor, exploring and exploiting the ground and caves you find. *Digging a tunnel deep under ‘in-land’ is not allowable. *Frozen Ocean and Frozen Rivers are considered water.
In later episodes I lay out the restrictions I’ve imposed on myself but I thought this would be a good place to start.
