In the last two episodes we built the desert and then the jungle but this time around we’re building my favorite thing the village yes i’ve always been obsessed with these things i mean what’s not to love you can talk to these guys you can loot these chests you can do Some trading and of course you can blow them up this iconic feature of the game is just dying to be rebuilt with lego bricks and there’s so many great mobs that have been created specifically for it so let’s get started this time eight by eight blocks is not Going to cut it we’re gonna quadruple our size to do an entire minecraft chunk as you can see here yeah it’s uh it’s bigger than what we’ve done before in game the village roads are very subtly indented so i wanted to bring that effect in lego but i wanted that Difference to be very very subtle and i managed to pull it off using a piece that might go neglected that’s the bracket so what’s interesting about the bracket is that it’s width is half a plate making it ever so slightly shorter by using brackets on their sides i was Able to create a half plate indentation for the road having a chunk means that there’s a lot of surface area to cover too i needed a lot of two by two jumpers and two by two tiles to pull this off here we’re replicating the planes biomes so i’m switching the grass color to Regular green you can see on the edge that we do have some bright green to blend this into the jungle which this module be up against i’m going to leave room for three structures one is gonna be a regular house the other a blacksmith and a market stall as well It’ll feel like a pretty good size village i think though i’d love to expand it in the future i’ll also be using the old style of flower stem from now on only because i have literally thousands of them and i probably have 20 of the New one all of which i used on that jungle module villages are always dotted with these piles of hay bales so of course we need to put at least one in our village too this will be a fairly generous sized hay bale pile as i’ve got Plenty of two by two yellow and red plates which are the only bricks really required to make them with all our landscape details out of the way we can start the structures and we’re going to start specifically with the market stall it’s pretty basic construction about exactly what you’d expect a lot of Bricks plates and tiles stacked straight up i’m using the same fence technique that lego has used in their kits alternating between that flower one by one plate and regular one by one bricks for the color of oak wood i’m using medium dark flesh or medium nougat for The yellow wool i’m actually going to use flame yellowish orange it’s a little more vibrant and i think it matches the newer updates in the game uh it also stands out from the hay bales a little bit more i’ve used two by two inverted white tiles on the bottom and it looks Like flame yellow orange ones exist they’re just really rare they came in one elf set so i’ll substitute those out one day that’s it that’s the stall now the real exciting stuff the blacksmith shop so of course this is the most exciting structure to come across In the game because it has the best loot for the blocks in this it’s primarily made up of cobblestone which you see here pretty simple and wood which is just using the alternate side of the masonry bricks to create that wood grain texture faithfully recreating the structure proved to be quite difficult Starting out with the grindstone it’s just a very small size and a quite elaborate shape so this is the crazy solution that i came up with and i was able to build that into the floor without making the floor too deep and it looks pretty effective The next one was the chairs in the corner of the blacksmith where i had to make minecraft stairs now stairs are pretty difficult to create in lego as the dimensions of the brick just don’t work like that so you’ll notice again i took advantage of brackets there at the Bottom to get that half plate height to make these actually perfect minecraft faithful stairs i ended up building the whole roof sideways to get that perfectly smooth underside just like we had in the desert wall in episode one and the result is again quite satisfying To look at there are no studs visible i also included a little light brick to make the lava light up i thought i was pretty clever it’s pretty cool it’s pretty easy too on the inside we’ve got all the details including a chest of course the chest made by lego is for Studs wide or two blocks why in the game so it takes up a lot of space but still fits in there and you can even have it open as i have a little indentation in the wall our seating area turned out pretty nice and yeah i really like this Building our village is starting to take shape but we still have room for one more building after creating the blacksmith shop a little five by five house comes together pretty easily we’ve got room inside for a table and a bed and i’ve got some nice glass windows Here as well that plops down perfectly on the spot that we’ve made for it but we have one problem yet the roof the roof is nothing short of a nightmare to get game accurate i’ll confess that i did not make a completely game accurate route for the blacksmith shop but i did Hear and yeah it ends up looking like this on the bottom there’s some tiles that allow it to slide neatly into place and as nightmarish as it was to build it looks pretty great there’s our village yes it’s small but considering we smashed all this content into a chunk I’m pretty happy with it of course we have connections all around so it’ll be very easy to expand this in the future let’s populate this thing of course we need a ton of cats and a ton of villagers and hey looks like we’re good to go but of Course where there are villagers there are also pillagers could be a raid in the works but let’s combine this with our other modules to complete our new layout this is actually getting quite large we have quite a bit of a diversity here three biomes represented and all Sorts of mobs to go along with them but there’s still plenty of room to grow this thing out so if you have any suggestions about what biomight tackle next or what structure please let me know down below the idea for a village was taken directly from the comments and Yes don’t worry the lush caves are a work in progress they’re coming i promise so until then i’ll see you next time Video Information
