Kicked off um so they’re going to this Summit and they’re going through Waters that’s infested with German uots which is the early name for submarines um so they have to maintain complete radio silence because if they talk or if they do anything other than like the only Communications they can really get

Off so they’re like holy crap basically everyone goes to their battle stations they’re all ready for a fight they’re scanning the water they’re waiting and know the wiie D is like hey um that was Us and and the I was like what the hell dude so after after this they continue on their Voyage um And they’re like all right this is an 8-day thing hopefully they’ll get swept under the rug Well turns out it does so the the USS Iowa the big boy um it they want to show off for the president uh so they release a bunch of balloons into the air and they shoot

Them down with their AA guns and whatnot um and it’s great it but one of them gets away um and it flies right towards the uh Willie D and they’re like oh my goodness this is our chance we can finally make up for that depth charge incident we can show

Part of getting ready to fire a torpedo except the actual firing part uh at which point the uh so they do the aiming and they do the loading and all that and then the Admiral looks by he like all right that that’s a hit right there um

God and that’s it so they do the first one it’s great uh and second one and it’s great Admirals like y fantastic shot whatnot it’s great um here’s the thing um the problem isn’t that they were doing these drills the problem is what they were aiming

Back up right now so the signaling guy being the signaling guy he is tells the Iowa hey we’re backing up and the Iowa at this Point’s like okay there’s a torpedo going away from us you’re backing up there must be a ubo nearby holy crap um which you know is

Very reasonable given that information um and but they’re not moving okay so and the the Admiral’s given up and he’s like all right tell them Ju Just get me on gosh darn it uh and he grabs the radio and he breaks radio silence and he’s like okay guys I need you to turn
