Building an Easy and Cheap Redstone Elevator in Minecraft
Tired of climbing ladders in Minecraft? Want something more impressive to show off to your friends? Look no further! In this tutorial, we will guide you through building an easy and cheap redstone elevator that will elevate your Minecraft experience to new heights.
Materials Needed
- Sticky piston
- Slime block
- Obsidian
- Pressure plate
- Redstone
- Redstone repeaters
- Redstone torches
- Trapdoor
Building the Elevator
Start by placing a sticky piston on the bottom. On top of the sticky piston, place a slime block. Surround the slime block with obsidian. It is important to use obsidian, as the elevator won’t work without it. The slime block will stick to the blocks around it, allowing the elevator to function smoothly.
Next, build a platform where you can place the pressure plate. Underneath the platform, place redstone so that it leads to the sticky piston. Adjust the first redstone repeater by clicking it three times, and the second one by clicking it twice. This will control the timing of the elevator’s movement. From the other side, bring the redstone to the trapdoor above.
To bring the redstone signal up, we will use a redstone torch elevator. Each redstone torch represents one Minecraft tick. Alternatively, you can use a redstone repeater set to four ticks (three clicks) to slow down the redstone signal. Connect the highest redstone torch to the trapdoor on top of the elevator.
Now, it’s time to build the elevator shaft. Once the shaft is complete, place the trapdoor on top of it, facing the direction of the pressure plate. Finally, clean up any unnecessary building blocks.
Testing the Elevator
Now that the elevator is built, it’s time to test it out! Stand as close as possible to the wall for the elevator to work properly. If you are not close enough, you may get stuck by the trapdoor above you. Keep in mind that this elevator may not work on some Minecraft servers due to server limitations or unstable Wi-Fi connections.
