Minecraft 1.20.3 Update: Improved Decorative Pots

Enhanced Storage Capacity
The decorative pots can now store up to a full stack of a single type of item. For example, you can easily place a stack of diamonds inside the pot. However, if you try to add 32 units of a different item, it won’t work. These pots don’t function like regular bags in the game. However, you can still place non-stackable items, such as a diamond pickaxe, inside the pot.
Interactions with Funnel Systems
Regular funnels, hopper minecarts, and ejectors can now easily place or extract items from the decorative pots. This allows players to create various mechanisms using redstone. Additionally, comparators can now detect the number of items inside patterned vases, opening up even more possibilities for complex contraptions.
Interaction Mechanics
To place an item or block inside a decorative pot, you need to interact with it without a graphical interface. Simply right-click on the pot to insert the item, accompanied by a beautiful animation and a unique sound effect. Once the pot is filled to its maximum capacity, a new animation and sound will play. However, retrieving items from the pot can be a bit tricky since there is no graphical interface. You’ll have to break the pot to retrieve the items. Keep in mind that breaking it by hand will preserve the pot, while using a tool will result in broken pieces.
Rolling Blocks and Vibration
Each interaction with the decorative pot creates vibrations with a strength of 11 units. This feature allows players to utilize the vibrations for mechanisms that involve honey blocks or slime blocks. Additionally, you can now destroy patterned vases with projectiles like snowballs, which adds a new layer of interaction and destruction to the game.
Realms and Name Customization
For players who have an active subscription to Realms, the update brings an exciting addition. Starting from this snapshot, you can create an additional server on a snapshot, pre-release, or release candidate version. Previously, new servers could only be created on stable versions. This new feature allows you to have two servers for the price of one subscription.
Another notable fix in this snapshot addresses the issue where renamed boats and minecarts didn’t display their names. Now, you can easily rename your boat or minecart, and the name will be visible not only in the inventory but also in the game world.
