Firstly, thank you all for watching Minecraft Live with me. We had a total of 38,148 people watching at our peak. That’s really a lot. I tried to translate and narrate everything, but I will reveal a secret, on the second channel link in the description, There will be a separate video with translation and narration of the whole show. So you can fully enjoy Minecraft Live.
Now we can move on to the new update. Unfortunately, just like last year and this year – we have no chance to know the full name of this update. The developers will inform us in the future. I think that around March we will get an announcement of the name. But for now, we can assume that this is the Combat Trials update. We also have not been informed when it will be released, but I somehow think the release will be in the summer of 2024. Most likely early or mid-July.
Important clarification. What was shown on the broadcast is only the part that is ready to be shown in the snapshots. As this update develops, the developers will be revealing and introducing new features. So keep that in mind as you watch this video.
First things first, let me talk about the new structure, the Trial Chamber. It is generated underground in each biome of the Overworld. The rooms in these Chambers are procedurally generated. Each time you find this palace, you will have a completely unique experience. At least, I hope so.
In these rooms, you will be able to meet the “Trial Spawner”, as well as a new mob – “Breeze”. We’ll talk about that in a moment.
On top of everything else in this structure, we can also find more Chests with supplies. So far, the developers have not told us what can be found in them. But my guess is that they are food, armor and weapons. Most likely, they will be enchanted.

The next thing we can meet in these rooms is the “Trial Spawner”. This is a new type of regular spawner. It has its own unique mechanics. The Trial Spawner will summon mobs depending on the number of players nearby. After winning, this spawner gives out a reward to each player, it is proportional to the number of mobs. The broadcast showed only emeralds And diamonds dropping – but these are only conventional signs. Most likely there will be other loot, much more valuable.
Like a normal spawner, this one will also activate only after the player gets close enough to it. Once activated, it emits a huge amount of particles that look like flames into the air. On top of that, it also emits “flame” particles around the summoned mobs.
The most important thing is that we have only seen the summoning of Strays and Slimes, most likely there will be other mobs as well. But it is important to note that the mob that will appear indicates the blocks located around the spawner. For example, at the spawner with Strays were located blocks of ice. So we will be able to know exactly which mob is waiting for us. I will add one more important thing, they cannot be destroyed and take away. To be exact, you can destroy it, But it will take a lot of time. It is better to leave it in place because it has a recharge time. It’s very long. After it recharges, the spawner will summon more mobs. This will last infinitely.

The next unusual block is the Copper Bulb. Its main function is that over time it oxidizes, Which leads to a decrease in brightness. You can prevent oxidation by applying wax to them.
Most likely you will not be able to craft them, they can only be found in the “Trial Chamber”. But this is not certain, I could be wrong.
The copper bulb emits light into the surrounding space, And the light decreases with each oxidation stage. To increase the light level, players can scrape off the oxidation with an axe. They can be turned on and off with Redstone signals.
The next thing I’d like to talk about is Breeze. A new hostile mob that can be found in the “Trial Chamber”. I feel like it’s not even just a regular hostile mob, it’s a mini boss. He doesn’t just move around, he jumps from place to place. His main attacks are explosive blasts of air. They are not quite ordinary. The thing is that after running into a block, his projectile explodes. This explosion does not cause damage to players or entities, it only pushes them away. The environment remains untouched. But if the projectile directly hits the player, the player will take damage. That’s how tricky his combat system is.
That’s not all. Its projectiles, after hitting a block, can create a Redstone signal. The developers demonstrated this on the example of copper trapdoors, which after the explosion immediately activated, and the players fell into the formed hole. He also activated a lever with his projectile – it’s just incredible. It’s a really unusual mob.
I don’t really want to focus on each block. There were quite a lot of them, I’ll just list them. Let me make it clear, the names of the blocks are not official. We will get to know their names in future snapshots. And so, the following blocks were demonstrated: Chiseled Copper Block, Copper Doors, Copper Grates, Copper Trapdoor, Polished Tuff, as well as many versions of it, and tuff bricks. I’m getting anxious to see them in the new snapshot.
As it seems to me the next thing I’m going to talk about is something incredible. A new block called the Crafter. Yes, yes, I’m not confusing anything. This Crafter allows you to automatically create blocks using the Redstone signal. It… [article continues]
