Hello youtube this is soulforge i have been playing minecraft now for about a month and a half and so far i have been doing the standard i built a little house run from some creepers mine in a cave you know all those standard wonderful little things well Just recently in the last couple days i have decided to explore and experiment with the logic circuits in minecraft and not having any previous experience with either computer programming or logic circuits i have found this a bit challenging but i’ve also found it rewarding especially whenever i get something to work This is something that i’ve recently come up with and i did some searches and couldn’t find anything else on this exact thing so i decided to post a video show how it works and show how to do it as you can see here it’s a timed password circuit okay Let’s real quickly do a demonstration and then i’ll explain how everything works one two three four five and you see the door opens down there right stays open let’s close it okay so that’s demonstration now let’s explain how all this stuff works all right these are the redstone repeaters Oh and by the way the texture pack is the last days texture pack it’s a wonderful fallout-esque nuclear survival sort of uh texture pack and gamery theme and you can check that out on minecraft forums it’s pretty awesome i like it anyway this is the redstone repeater The there are 11 of these and basically each one of these has four different positions all right each one of those positions count for one-tenth of a second so position one is point one of a second and position four is point four of a second so we’ve got eleven of these Uh you can count by four all the way up to 44 so that’s basically 4.4 seconds of delay okay so this input comes along it’s delayed by five or four and a half seconds or so and then you input here and that will activate this gate Which is just a simple and gate okay walk around that so you can see how that’s built it’s real simple and i will also post a couple links in the credits at the end of the video and also uh down below and it will have a couple of the Websites that i have used to further uh my understanding of redstone circuitry and logic gates in general okay so this is an and gate right the way that works if both of these inputs are on then this output will be on okay so that’s the and gate this output comes into A memory cell this particular memory cell is the rs nor latch or the rs nor memory cell the way it works you have one input here called s and i take it that that means source so this is your source input right this is the r input And the way it works i would call it the reset input okay so the way this works whenever this output here comes into here it will activate this memory cell okay and uh these two here i haven’t explained i’ll real quickly go over those this is q it’s the standard output okay This is uh q inverted or q inverse the opposite of q okay q is the actual normal output of this memory cell but as you can see with the positioning that i had i had to use the other output right so the way that would work if i was using this output Is whenever both of those happen and that gate is activated the signal comes into there and it would then turn this on okay so you could have your door here connected and it would activate okay but that doesn’t work for the way i’ve got it set up here So what i had to do is go with the q inverted output which as you can see right now is on whenever that gate is activated this will turn on which will make this turn off so in order to get the signal to the Door at the time that i want it i had to place an inverter here to invert that signal as you can see it’s on there so i had to put the inverter to make it closed whenever i activate the proper passcode it will turn that on turn this off turn this on Opening the iron door okay so let’s real quickly go over all that again you’ve got repeaters set to four tenths of a second each so you’ve got nearly four and a half seconds of delay going into an and gate the secondary input is just going to directly go straight to The gate at the proper time so whenever both of those are on this output here will come into this memory cell and the s input activating q and this will always be the opposite of q it’s q inverted and an inverter there to turn the door on whenever the ac the uh Inputs are correctly applied and this simply is a reset switch got a couple repeaters there nothing fancy at all it’s just the reset switch okay so the way this works real quickly i’ll do it again one two three four five door opens stays open reset and it closes All right thanks very much guys comment rate eventually subscribe i will eventually set up a channel i’ve decided that this is going to be what i’m going to do for uh quite a while and i’m finding it quite enjoyable and challenging so that’s the beauty of minecraft with it being a sandbox game Is that you can play like a six month old and build a couple sand castles that’ll fall down at the slightest wind or you could do the amazingly complex and intricate things that other people have created such as an end game computer or calculator and in game tic-tac-toe and all those other Wonderful things that many uh more experienced redstone users have created but this is my contribution to the community and like i said i had not seen anyone else do this so that’s why i chose to partic pick this particular one it’s a timed password circuit you can alter the the timing Uh say you just pick three of these right that’s 4 8 12 so that’s 1.2 seconds remove the rest of those you would push this button about a second later you would push this button and it would open the door okay or you could increase the number of repeaters here and I have a longer delay and still open the door all right thanks very much guys y’all enjoy and you can hit me up with the email down below or a private message and i will definitely help you in any way i can alright guys take it easy Video Information

Hey guys! Been playing Minecraft for a little over a month now and up til the last couple of days have been enjoying the simpler things available. Now I’m diving into Redstone Circuitry!! This is one of my projects, I did searches and could find nothing similar so I am offering this to the Minecraft redstone community for all to enjoy. This is a circuit that allows one to lock a door and only open it by entering in a timed password. (This is a simpler version with only 2 inputs, many more options are available with the new redstone repeaters.)
