Minecraft made some changes to shaders for Minecraft Bedrock Edition in the latest beta and preview and I’m here to show you what has been updated also in the most recent changelog the developers outline some stability and performance improvements so if you are playing on a device that was struggling previously Hopefully it’s been fixed ties so things have been improved and I’m gonna break it down for you now in today’s video we are using the pogi is lit version 0.14 there’s a link Down Below in case you guys want to download it for yourself this pack is continuously being updated as a reminder For those of you that do want to check this out you have to be in the latest beta and preview and you do need a texture pack for this to be possible it’s down below make sure you download it you’re gonna have to go into your resource packs find the download which Is pogi’s Luminous dreams Graphics Pack version 0.14 you have to activate this make sure it’s inside of here and you have to turn on the experimental toggle if this toggle at the bottom is not enabled it is not going to work for you one of the changes this week is that Soul torches are now treated as Point lights in the Deferred technical preview so now you are able to distinguish the difference between a soul torch and a regular torch so if we go ahead and set this to midnight you can see the different color that’s a soul torch lets Off versus a regular torch this is the same for a soul campfire and a regular campfire Soul lanterns and regular lanterns now the further you go away you can actually see the ambience the aura a lot better you can see the different colors are now distinguished there is a Perfect example of the shadows and the reflections that Soul torches and regular torches can let off you do really appreciate it when you see it next to another block and I really love this glow effect on the Cobblestone now by the way and I think that’s because of The Moon also the Moon looks slightly different and different in color which is something else I also like I also went ahead and placed it on a tree so from a distance it kind of feels like I don’t know fog effect is what I’m gonna say now right now everything is incred Incredibly bright hopefully they tone that down in the future because it’s just a little bit too much in my opinion but you can see the difference on the tree you can see the lights coming towards me on that angle and then you can see a different colored light coming This way from the soul torch and again you can see the differences between the Torches over there and the Torches over there the biggest change this week to shade is is that they are now allowing data driving of Point lights and their colors for any block via resource packs In the Deferred technical preview now I’m just gonna quickly turn this off as you guys know these blocks are all different colors so of course the lights should be different colors we have a Jack-o-Lantern here it should let off some form of an orange effect same for The likes of a glowstone these should all be different from one another now there is a few bugs here like I said we are gonna experience box oh he seems to be fine now so please understand that these will be fixed in future you will see an even bigger and better change When it comes to the candles which I am about to show you but the first thing I wanted to show you is the different colors during different times of days so we have a couple of command blocks set up up here let’s turn the shaders back On right now it’s day so let’s start from Sunrise now the colors are starting to look a lot better and you are now able to distinguish the difference between a sunrise and a sunset day noon it’s starting to go to night time and stuff like that so right now we Currently have it set just to Sunrise and as we go up in the sky you can see here the sun is starting to pop up and you can kind of see it through the trees over there and you can see the blue is starting to come up here and the night Time is starting to fade away when we change this to zero which is just a little bit higher than Sunrise you really do start to see a whole range of colors of course you’ve got like the orangey effect from the Sun you’ve kind of got like this purpley color going on There an orange effect you can see it goes from like orange purple going into blue going into darker blue and then going into night time now when I look down keep an eye on the sun when I look down you really do see the craziness on The pink slash purple right there and I love it I love it also don’t forget that the sun is now offset as well so if we go today keep an eye on the floors as well and you’ll see how things change from sunrise to zero to daytime the Shadows start to appear you can see it’s a brand new day it’s glorious it’s blue it’s bright and nighttime is completely going away there so if we change this to noon the strongest point of the day I’ll be honest with you I actually don’t like The grass in this I’ll be honest I think for me oop I think for me personally the day has some of the best looking grass and then noon it’s so darn bright I really hope they get more control over this but you can see how incredible the Day experience is and then we go into the late noon or late noon is probably my favorite between daytime and late noon oh I do like the late noon one you can see here the colors are also starting to fade it’s uh in Reverse now you can see over here where the night Time was it’s now starting to appear here and if we set it to sunsets again you get to see the difference in colors and then we set it to midnight and this is where things start to get so much better and night time is probably my favorite with shaders enabled I just Want to show you guys the uh effects over here again I love this I love this with the moon if we do forward slash time sets and we set it to noon though yes they do have a very similar effect and I’m just standing still so you can See that the water is slightly moving there are mines everything is and not everything is working so one of the changes that’s meant to be possible is that Redstone lights are meant to let off like a redstone effect very similar to what these are doing some of the Blocks are broken motion and Minecraft are aware of that I’m trying to grab some some of these blocks and just show you the differences that they let off so you can see the color on the lantern the lanterns are so bright you can also see the color difference on lava over there There’s a few issues with lava in this version if we go across and you can see there that’s the prime example that I’m talking about when it comes to the jack-o-lanterns the colors should be different you’ll also notice here that it’s coming from the front because That’s where the eyes are we go around the corner you can see it pretty much disappears same with Glowstone the colors are completely different this right here is the pearlescent frog lights this one is The Verdant which is broken and this is the okra which is partially broken it looks like it’s Broken pin on the top and on the bottom crying obsidian is so impressive the colors just pop so well and if you’ve ever found a ruined portal in your world these things stick out so much I also like Scopes as well they’ve got like a couple of dots of lights and you can Actually see it like if we look there um it’s dark but if you look at that it’s it’s bright and you can kind of see they’re flickering and changing honestly it looks so awesome as mentioned the biggest change is with candles let’s light all of these because they all let Off a different colored light which makes sense they’re candles that will look so cool so we’re just like these one by one I I like this I’m definitely gonna start using candles more often especially if I’m using a world that is shaders now there is a few bugs here and There because that is a Black Candle which it’s clearly not black and the light it’s letting off is clearly not a black light but check it out you do see the true power of this in the distance the favor you are the favorite looks so much better so candles this week Honestly I love these ones let’s go and place down a couple more of these hold on let’s just like couple more of these lights there you go there you go and the strength actually play a factor here it’s currently midnight if we place down one light that one and then we place Down one and two and like that what all they do all they do one two three like that one oh you could do like a really cool Runway with this and then we do one two three four and you can see the difference there yeah I really love the Changes with candles like I mentioned you can check this out for yourself that has been even more changes hopefully we are gonna see some more optimizations or shaders hopefully there’s gonna be a way to get it on Xbox specifically Minecon and Minecraft live is gonna be very soon No doubt we’re gonna find out even more information about this have a wonderful day and a shout out to poggy for making this possible Video Information
