EPIC SHOWDOWN: LEGO HOUSE VS MINECRAFT HOUSE!

I am a huge fan of Lego, and that’s why I’m very excited for this challenge. In the very fist episode of my “Build Versus” series, I challenged another Minecraft player to a head-to-head build off. We had to create a house out of our Minecraft heads. That sounds kind of weird,

But basically it was a house of our Minecraft skins. It had a downstairs on an upstairs and it was filled with furniture. I was sent a bunch of different Lego bricks and Lego Minecraft sets, which I am so excited about. These are amazing, and they have so many interesting characters and builds included.

I have to say these sets are so impressive. So what we’ll be doing is deconstructing the sets, taking the Lego bricks out that I need for the challenge, and then trying to build my head house. So let’s go to building. I have a lot of Lego Minecraft here,

And I am so excited to build my head. Wow, that is just the weirdest thing I think I’ve ever said. I’m thinking about using this, which is a build plate from one of the Lego Minecraft sets. Going to use this as the base of my head.

This set here has the perfect color for my skin tone. So I’m going to use these bricks to make my face. So I started out with the green build plate because on “Build Versus” we started out on the square field. So it was basically the same thing. It was perfect.

And so what I did is I watched “Build Versus” alongside building this, just so I knew I was getting an accurate representation. And I used a scale of two Lego bricks equals one Minecraft block. And I think it worked out really well. With the scale, I was able to work out

How many Lego bricks I needed to create my eyes. So I went ahead and started on those and I think they turned out really well. They look exactly the same as they did in Minecraft. So I was super happy about that and I thought they were just amazing.

So next I was working on my face and just filling that in and making sure that everything was perfect. It was kind of crazy to see something that I built in game come to life right before my eyes. Here I am building the ears. And then on the video,

Obviously I started building the sides. So I followed along with that, completing the hedge, going around and filling in with all of the brown Lego bricks to complete my hair. It was turning out so great. The proportions were perfect as well, which I was kind of shocked about,

But it seems like the build plate was the perfect size. I just had to add a couple of bill plates at the back, just so I had an extra block space because I left some room at the front. So I was just filling in the hair here. And for this build,

I had the idea of being able to look inside of it because obviously this is in real life and not Minecraft. So I can’t drink down and go and look inside of the house. And I’m not gonna lie, but the furniture that you can make using these Lego sets

Are so cute that they just have to be displayed. So I didn’t need to fill in the hair at the top because I didn’t want to block out what was going on on the inside like I did in game. When you play Minecraft, you need the house to be fully protected

From all of those creepy crawly mobs, so you always add a roof. But I didn’t want to add a roof in real life. While I was building this, I was just relaxing, watching the video back, listening to music, and honestly I found it so therapeutic

To sit down and just concentrate on building something. It’s been a really long time since I’ve been able to relax like that. So being able to play with these Lego Minecraft sets was amazing, because it was really nice to just focus on something creative. So the next job I needed to do

Was to add a second floor into my build because on “Build Versus” I had an upstairs and a downstairs. So I needed to figure out how I could do this. I decided that the best way to combat this was to connect to a load of build plates together using other build plates,

Which sounds kind of confusing, but it really wasn’t. And here’s my concentrating face. My next job was to figure out how big I needed my second floor to be. So I lined up all of these mini build plates and I filled the bottom of my head house

So that I could get an accurate measurement. This would help me in the future to create the second floor. And I was going to stick them to my hair. That doesn’t really sound like it makes sense, but you see those bricks on the side there,

I was going to use those to balance the second floor on top of. Surprisingly out of everything, this actually took me the longest amount of time because I needed to make sure that the second flow was strong enough to support itself and also to support all of the Minecraft furniture

That I was going to be adding in. So once I had the correct measurement, I decided to flip everything upside down and I connected it from the underside. Again, this actually took me quite a while to do because I wanted it to be super strong. And also I use various bits

Out of all of the different Minecraft sets. So I had to go into each box specifically and get those out. I do kind of wish that I had built the second floor though, when I was constructing the main build, but I really didn’t think about it until I got to that stage.

If I’d have done that originally, it would have probably saved me a lot of time, but hey, here we are. Eventually I was able to create a floor of my house out of these build plates and I connected them to my head. So here is the finished look.

I think it turned out really well. And I left the top and the underside exposed so that you can look into the house. Then I needed to make my hair 3D, like I did on Minecraft. It just kind of adds that texture in there and makes it not look so flat and strange.

So this meant that I had to deconstruct the front of my Lego face. And basically I had to layer up the Lego bricks so that they were doubles instead of singles, but it just added that texture. I think my build really needed it. I honestly think it made all of the difference.

And you can add so much detail with your builds with just simple changes like this. And what I really appreciated about building this is that it was so easy to take apart and rebuild, and it was really fun and rewarding to do. And now that the build was complete,

I decided it was time to decorate. So I got this Lego Minecraft Steve, and I put him together. I also found this Minecraft pink bed. And of course I had a pink bed in “Build Versus” so it just had to be added. Obviously the furniture is not going to be the exact same

As what I had in game, but I tried to add as many pieces as possible just to fill it up really and showcase to you guys how many adorable Minecraft items are in these Lego Minecraft sets. You get things like torches, crafting tables, even this little TNT, which I thought was super cute.

I decided to add that onto the side of my build so it looked like the TNT had blown a hole into the house, and that’s why you could see inside. I gave Steve a little pickaxe, and there was even this chest that opens.

So I decided to put that in and to also fill it up. My house was looking so cute at this point, but I just knew I needed to add even more things into it. The instruction manuals that came with these sets was so easy to follow.

And I found out that you could make these tiny chairs. So of course I had to put one in my build. So I got all of the stuff I needed, and then I created a tiny chair. How cute is that? Of course I had to go in the bottom floor of my house.

And then I was really excited because I found out you could make cats. So yes, I had to make a cat and add that into my house. And here’s my real life cat, making friends with my Lego Minecraft cat. Then I added in a rug to our bedroom at the top.

It was a cute pink and white one. And I kept going back to my build and adding things in like downstairs I added a rug, but I think I’m going to save that for the reveal. And here we have it guys, my Lego Minecraft head house, I think it turned out really well.

And I’m so happy with the result. Like seriously, it looks exactly like my Minecraft version. Like I said, I added a few extra details. I think they really made the build come to life, but yeah, please make sure to leave a like if you think I did a good job
