EPIC SURVIVAL: Starting in Horizon SMP

Hi guys um welcome to another live stream or probably much more likely live stream VOD of of the horizons smpp um this is the second part of the series and uh yeah uh let just uh get into it and um double check to see if the stream’s actually working

Um it seems like it is uh yeah it’s probably all right the chat oh dang it the chat is does not seem to be working but tried to fix that before the stream and couldn’t so I give up um but no one ever uses it anyway

So um this episode my goal is to uh get a didn’t I have a map before I’m being oh God damn it must have despawned at some point when I died have a horrible sense of spatial awareness so it’s gonna suck and it’s night I have no Shelter well time to dig a panic hole oh Probably eat to make sure I don’t [Applause] die what I’m feeling risky today I’ll go mining even though it’s night and I am probably going to Die the only things I’ve actually I actually care about have despawned my map and that Notch Apple I at some point last time I played I think it was in like a chest somewhere really lucky f but too bad I uh face my ass no time to hide uh I

Oh well it’s like I’m going to probably be here for a While um oh just just be doing some mining then once that happened probably not have gone into that water few morees kind of dig upwards to check how late into the night it is pretty sure it’s still not safe but uh patient so anyway Uh Noe Well So I didn’t really do much of an intro at the start of this guess that’s because I don’t do very good at intros High uh depending On how I feel whenever I make a video think I’m Ren W Survivor or o and usually I uh all three of which are different characters and one of which is real me I mean I guess two of which would be am I a character or ask yourself that those sort of questions

I’m on half Health Gil Knight oh yeah I just remember I have a bed going have to find a place which is bit far away from all the monsters that are Monsterous yeah I really I mean I’m commentating is most important during in these boring times of something like just being in a hole but I’m not sure what to talk about aside for just being in a Hole screw this the two items I care about are broken any actually I should probably make a sword first though um are broken any or despawned anyway he time to face my fears and probably die to them Right A first order of business is to try and get High is that water please say it’s I am so good at this game except most I am good at The Dropper I don’t know why I’m good at The Dropper I never really played it very much but I am par yeah Spider-Man’s not even a good superhero

Better used to be very good at making whips but you know being stuck inside sick for months does make make you a bit socially Awkward although I was already socially awkward so now I’m double socially Award and no before I Have two on that’s enough to either craft or or craf [Applause] Shield I Have oh wait for I way probably Also to actually use it at this point time to make a decision sword or Shield I’m going to go with Shield because without a shield I uh cannot fight skeletons I I want to keep this up we keep this like it’s not I mean a bit rare I guess but probably just throw away I mean it’s not that hard to I kill I get but I Ament mentally attached to my grasp BL And I’ve gotten sentimentally attached to some weird things before but this is the first time I’ve ever been attached to a gra block even a now I have more iron so I can craft a iron pick and some weaponry yes good weapons and I’m pretty sure it’s technically strategically better

To have an axe as a weapon but or something but like I’m I swords also I’m pretty sure they are not like that in Bedrock which is the version I Play it may not be the most the the more popular of the two versions but but I have my reasons for liking it like controller support and nostalgia Don’t still at the point where uh where iron is a valuable resource I need to conserve so uh I’m a bit hesitant about iron case it breaks and I and I have basically one out of food Probably should just Still No my stuff I have legitimately no IDE idea where that was I’m basically started from trash now wait no I had the jungle saplings on me but yeah yesterday was this server’s debut today is me trying to is when I my friends aren’t here so I’m am able to fully display my Incompetence keep saw this earlier a few times but people keep someone on the server keeps on leaving the tops of trees floating like that it’s Annoying back to square one actually less than square one because I used to have the starting map oh that a sweet sa sweet think that I can argue about Bedrock being good with my brother who hates controllers for some reason even though keyboards are designed for typing not Gaming although admittedly I’m at using keyboards even for that I I’m gen Z so I grow up around keyboards but still have to um I still have to look at the typing I say that but there a lot of people I know find it when I think most

People do have to look at the people from typing but I know some people who found it it absolutely insane that I’m uh I’m like geny and have to look at my keyboard while Typing and I’m not sure like what percentage of people uh have to look at their keyboard this is all looking at their keyboard pretty sure my friends already got most of the little resources from that cave earlier so I have to find another one honestly um I kind of wanted to

Um have like a i i I wanted to like have a bunch of like all my base set up and stuff on camera but the thing is is I’m really bad at Minecraft so that might be kind of boring to watch until I have like good gear and

Stuff oh great and now I it’s night and I don’t have a bed so I’m actually going to have to hide through the night this time instead of doing it because I’m stupid just dig out a nice hole to hide in I really need to think of like a lot

Of the times you could just like put me in front of a something and I’ll go on like a big rant but when I’m like recording it for some reason I always need to like commentate on something relevant to the video Even though some of my favorite like streamers and YouTubers straight up

Uh like it go on big rants about stuff that has nothing to do with what’s actually happening I mean I guess I’m talking about talking about the stream which isn’t actually really linked to the Stream when someone is inevitably 1 million years in the future or stumbles

Upon these in a lost YouTube server and study the media of this age AG um they’re going to be uh bored as hell from oh because nothing I’m talking about is well is really uh all that entertaining but like I’m going to try to be entertaining to you future archaeologist

Cuz I know you’re probably the only person watching this VA inless unless I get somehow make it big I mean I’m not sure if archaeologist would be the proper term for that like you TR like get the profession that wouldn’t really exist yet like sort of a I mean internet archaeology I suppose

Um which I mean is I mean is kind of a thing but like not really to the uh degree it’ll be in like in the future like I wouldn’t call people like the internet historian archaeologists um even though they let me just oh frick that re sorry about that um

Just some uh I just needed to get rid of an annoying visual bug but I forgot that this version of Minecraft needs to reload whenever you uh Tab out actually no I think Java actually also has that not sure I mean honestly a lot of people uh are like hyper aggressive about which

Version is better I think both versions have their benefits like supposedly Java is a lot less buggy well Bedrock has some neat like little little details like a sheared dyed sheep having or wool remaining and I always feel like I always prefer just having show coordinates on than needing to do to

Look through that convoluted over crowded like menu or coordinates and stuff this controller support but but the main thing Java has is mod support um which is the reason I ever actually play Java mod support and Shader Support also or I mean I guess shaders are kind of mod but not really iron Run Okay um I okay it would be very cool if like I uh stumbled upon like an amazing Lo like jungle biome cuz that’s my favorite biome while like running through the night and like found the perfect place for my base but he’s just going to have to run for my

Life and hope I don’t run out of food no that’s well I mean I didn’t have food in the first place but I mean like run out of hunger And I could just hide in a hole Without if I got old time make sure was asleep through the night could also just kill sh but I always feel that I don’t like how that like it’s objectively a tactical advantage to just kill a few sheep at the start the game but Like uh do other people make fun of me for my pacifism towards uh virtual cubes Yes do they have the right to make fun of me for that absolutely do I still refuse to kill virtual cubes of course I mean I refuse to kill nice virtual cubes like I’m like I kill zombies and stuff but like only you expect me to kill that cute little

Or make a complex greatly unethical Farm to with those chickens I i’ prefer to not do that like honestly most like videos of how to make like Optimal mob Farms are like like okay first you need to kidnap a dozen villagers and I’m like no like I wish there was like a tutorial

Of how to make ethical model farm so I don’t have to feel bad I mean I guess most mobs you farm like aren’t ethical but like want to wait to like ethically collect chicken eggs without them just living on Hoppers forever or um or I uh like to make my uh villagers

Free range villagers in other words I don’t trap them in a box for their entire life like I’m the kind of of player to always feel oh bad whenever I do something like optimally if that optimal thing like uh is mean which is why I can probably never be a speed

Runner well I mean depends on the game really oh heit someone’s in chat hey up man there should probably the response to what is up man is high once again well uh I like stream thank you very much uh I’m like reading out every one of your messages because um like uh the

Thingy for chat isn’t on my stream isn’t working properly and uh since no one yeah they said you’re welcome and I just wanted to want don’t want chat to feel forgotten even though they don’t usually actually exist I up try to look back at chat regularly to keep up with what they’re

Saying now time to continue my search for the perfect spot to base I guess random cut down a few trees for no reason I’m not sure why I did that I mean still doing it but whatever treat are good actually I’m destroying them so I guess boo trees I’m sorry

Trees wait one sec let me just oh for a second I thought that tree over there was growing on top of a pumpkin but it was just a weird angle grab these on though pumpkins aren’t really a great food source uh they can be traded with villagers is for a decent amount of

Emeralds or more so the pumpkin to Emerald rate is high compared to other oh uh what you usually play on oh what do you usually play on um I so I usually play on Bedrock Edition which I am now and I’m currently playing it on PC but when I’m off stream

I more often play it on mobile uh which is the version I grew up on and I mean this world’s a realm so I can actually whenever I like want to do some off camera mining I can actually uh access the server from the mobile version without like needing

To do crazy bi transfers or something like that which is convenient but you know I’m I’m pretty sure the only of the two versions of Minecraft I do not own are Minecraft 3DS edition and PlayStation 4 edition I mean or PlayStation edition in general I’m pretty sure PS4 and PS5 are the Same but like and all the console editions are kind of the same except I heard PlayStation is actually different for some reason wait actually no this is a perfect cave uh I mean it’s a bit high up but since when would I let something like common sense and not wanting to die

Stop me a lot of the time but not Here You know it’s very really nice when I actually get someone watching my streams live usually I see they got like two views after they are actually published but um checking the average view duration in uh the longest view is me when it’s live looking at chat because that requires pulling up this

Team which is an outlier or and and which essentially means that up with the average view durations usually being half the video or something people usually with on the rare occasions they do watch these after published they watch for like two seconds which to be fair I’m not the most entertaining individual

Well mostly just do these CU I’m bored I greatly wish I had an iron pickax there is a lot of golden oh gosh I need to I hide but I can’t really heal because I don’t have any mean I could just dig up I guess that’s

Lame I think I probably should just dig up at this point skeletons my worst the most annoying fight monster in Minecraft in my opinion and creepers are annoying but they’re less annoying to fight and more annoying after fight them God damn it I have even less of an idea of where

That was than last time I died back to square one guess I should probably head to the village that I remember exists might have left some stuff in the chest but then again um some other actually good players were on this world earlier mean my brother all my brother

And uh my friend Hayden already have like a thpl of iron I’m still trying to get like work I’m still barely on stone tools because I keep on dying okay um should probably uh get I’m not sure if I should try to get to the village for you

Know what I’ll go to the Village before I get more stuff not sure if there’s really anything useful left in there but at the very least at least I can grab some food sensor yeah food’s good is that door open Frick I mean I just why this zombie like wonder why

They like do that like I mean get them spawning with tools and stuff but why would they SP with rock cten flesh like I get that they’re Undead but they just like pick up pieces of themselves after actually I’m not going to describe what I think happen uh describe Undead

Stuff in detail because I am don’t like to think about that sort of stuff too much zombies are not rotting carcasses they are just blocks they are squares oh yeah I don’t oh wait that’s my friend Hayden’s dog then I should have gotten them to sit before he left the

World why am I eating rotten flesh I have watermelon it’s much more appetizing but yeah know I’ll uh I don’t want’s dogs loaded while I’m playing just in case some random zombie comes and beats them up I don’t want my friends dogs to die probably uh craft a pickaxe still in chat

Man uh whatever or maybe they just type slowly like me iron o a big vein this I might actually be able to get some decent Gear Well I need to more Stone to get the furnace going to need to save some of this for sticks don’t think I’m going to be able

To smelt anymore more than it takes to get a pickaxe I might be able to get a couple more if I throw some sticks in there but not going to throw all of them in there okay that’s enough to also craft a sword for some good old self-defense sort a pick not

Bad but I at least have some but I at least have some gear so I’m completely defenseless still feel a lot safer though with some armor but betters can’t be choosers I’m still going to save my iron pickaxe unless I uh or if I encounter something valuable since

I’m that I need an iron pick to break since it’s still very early in the game or at least more so I should say I am still very early in the game pretty sure most of the other players on the server are way ahead of me but they aren’t online right now and

Way ahead isn’t saying much considering in what little little I have well I’m getting a lot of iron now think I might I think once I get to the surface and get some oh wait coal exists I can honestly a lot of people smelt stuff with coal by default but I sort of

Learned had it wired into my brain at a young age about like smelting take wood that uh I sometimes forget you can even smelt with coal even though like most people think of that as its main use a lot of the time I can I don’t want to

Waste my coal on smelting because I’m always running low on torches for some reason have the worst usually I have the worst luck when it comes to finding coal that’s a decent all for my trip just going to have to actually probably see what interest anecdotes do

I have that aren’t uh depressing at all not watch that don’t know why I sometimes like sometimes I talk to myself when I’m like alone to tell myself what to do but sometimes I just like say stuff to myself like INR when I’m already in the

Middle of doing it and I have no idea why like how I just said eat watermelon there yeah definitely be able to craft at least some armor with this honestly I wish I could all don’t have any wood on me heading back to the surface but clearly I keep on encountering monsters

So I’ll uh wait for this first shoes don’t remember how much it takes to craft a full said iron armor four for the boots five For whatever uh I’m not going to do all that Math So um should make talk you know honestly um even though I’m not necessarily the best at Minecraft I played it a lot when I was a kid um not like blue ly when I was a kid but most of my time playing Minecraft was really long

Ago think I used to be uh better than I currently am honestly um or which is a bit weird since I was really bad at absolutely everything as a kid since I was a kid I mean kids uh no offense to all your five-year-olds that may or may not be watching the

Vaud but um kids aren’t necessarily the best at stuff mean I’m still kind of a kid now like 15 is I mean 16 sort of borders on kid like feel like if I had to categorize myself into any age group it would probably be a mid team where uh a

Lot of in which I uh am unsure whether or not it’s all under the category of kid I mean I’m definitely a miner but I feel like a minor and a kid are kind of different things or at least have different connotations God damn it it’s night Time for my ultimate technique shearing shap please drop three please drop three see how much it dropped I don’t want to fall in that big Pit okay how much did it one and I already lost that sheep so since it was a black sheep I’m going find another black sheep or get three more I would actually prefer to just get three more since you can die a white bed kind of wish you could like red

Already dyed stuff like beds but I’m like 80% sure you can’t cool if you could be less realistic I mean would it but like it’s just quality of life if improvements I hope uh no one really goes to this place and that reir could also get W by through murder

Of spiders instead ofing up sheep I feel less bad for killing Hostile Mobs because they attacked me first mostly like I’m attacking this spider first but they’re hostile they would have aggroed on me anyway I know how would not going to let them get the first hit just because uh um ow up

Nothing ATT damn it at least I have more food now go grab some wood real quick so since it’s Bedrock uh advancements are like actually don’t really pop up in game as much and more like pop up in the like like the windows achiev thingy but like thing is is which I

Don’t think captures like it’s really delayed for some reason wonder why oh wait I have wood now I can do stuff you know the thing is is like since I’m playing with a controller on my computer for like UI tasks like crafting I can switch e conveniently to my keyboard but

Like but for the but for most of the actual like game playay and building I could do the more much more convenient control probably much more I like controll is more than keyboards oh it’s a weird thing um like Frick I forgot what I was going to say real quality content right here

Sheep give me your wool I already have enough for a bed but I will take more wool drain slowly please you know I’m it’s always very tense when I have to eat like uh something that gives me food poisoning and Minecraft cuz like just have to it’s tense because

Like don’t know how much it’s going to drain and like it’s going to it’s definitely going to drain some a lot of the time you are on less hunger than you started out with but you need to heal So oh like I mean every like lower hunger bar is a or could be something you have to eat later or something Um before that actually never mind it’s D M there should actually leave Frick oh I left in a village forgot about That okay here’s the plan um not die uh but in all seriousness I’m going to want to get set enough wool for a bed before I die and set up at least a temp base for now or I could just guess I’ll just steal this bed sorry villager I do legitimately feel bad

For sort of stuff but Got to do what you got to do to survive better than killing Sheep yeah Sad just off a buch of he oh okay at least I can recollect that quickly wasn’t much always happens when I start out a new Minecraft World the before I’m not that that great at this game but this time I have a bed before it’s not night so when things start getting dangerous I can just take a little Nap okay you know what no I’m going to get to a place where I want to set up my base before I go mining I don’t want to have to go on a long journey over and over again and and I’m like spending time grabbing resources and dying a bunch

Going to gather resources after I find the perfect spot for basing I mean I don’t like and I always like actually like a place in like a nice biome somewhat near a village I mean and I could build my own village but um I I don’t like just stealing

Villagers from their homes and uh I legitimately don’t know how to craft make a potion of weakness could just Google it oh just going to dye my bed real quick because uh I like color blue favorite colors for beds are always like blue or magenta both great colors

I mean you can tell by my skin that I like both blue and sort of pinkish purple colors like they do go kind of go great together wait no mind don’t grab three stone and then start mining this stuff you know I said I’m not going to

Mine stuff if like like before I get a good base but also if I like literally just see veins of scking out from a mountain I’m going to mine it also I should probably craft all this into bread um yeah and I have watermelon but that’s like not the best food source

So um crafting it all into bread and I do kind of like this biome but um don’t want to base to near any of the like near the like starting like that sort of public territory in this world and I want to have like my own territory

Could be annoying if my bed ever gets destroyed though that lava over there really odd lava are usually surrounded by Stone or something oh it is well I guess that’s all right then honestly I like having a map because I really easily get lost but also not

Having a map can be helpful because like I don’t have to worry about only exploring too thoroughly only within the like for okay a village right there that means I means I’m more likely to base nearby Pretty nice plain Village which uh kind of generic but but at the same time I’m a fan of the classics do any of these guys have any decentes see any W who have Career okay there’s a CL um that’s a lot of potatoes you just going to rob this guy I’ll check crazy has in the morning now I’m just going to sleep in his house tra are but have anything for them right Now farmer Viller wandering traitor do you have anything useful no no you do not the church oh wait I already spoke to you there Fletcher here um which career block is linked to flet again how hard are they to craft but yeah know I think I’m probably

Gonna base pretty near here it’s a nice Village and good biome don’t want to set up like directly right next to the Village but probably a good general area hey by right next to the Village I mean like I don’t want my house to literally be like in the village because

Then villagers will come and like sleep in my bed and stuff but I am fine with it being like super near the village just not like in it probably craft an that okay first things first um got to find a site to build stuff before I gather material cuz I want to

Set my spawn as quickly as possible I need good building sites here think I might go for like on top of this or more so like uh like next to the river then on whatever you get what I mean probably I don’t they probably going to see anyways

Please I’m just going to grab a bunch of Cobble because I probably should have done that before now sweet home going to put this the bed in this strange two block gap of grass oh wait I remember I just cleared that of dirt blocks like 30 seconds ago guess it’s not that strange

Then there one thing I see a lot of people doing which is like building a more like Stone Cobblestone foundation for their base never really done that um so uh I’m probably not like I’m not going to build like a big house right now just like a

Little this is I’m not going to go full temp based dirt Shack either though um actually you know what um I know what I’m going to build it out of brick which I I guess I’ll pick up that stone since I uh just kind of wasted it and wanted to

Crab like a shovel and Axe and stuff probably will put like a full on smooth stone foundation but for now it’s all right just making if spawn Point’s definitely set don’t know why I needed to double check that because I’m pretty sure I already set it but whatever better safe than

Sorry an axe so a lot more drown tend to spawn any Java players watching so I’m going to to be careful That’s why I’ve never really buil up Is annoying to get make my first actual that was been pretty I built out of most materials in cre mod I mean just real messing around as a kid most stuff that’s been added in more recent when I’m older and have the skill to survival oh I probably have bu

Probably get some of thisel while I collect some more throw in some coal some clay and you know what I’m to make another furnace that just do two stacks at once and guess I Sun’s about to set in a bit but uh but in a bit and not individual so

There are you sure takes nine to Bricks to would not be enough but makes it even more annoying to get enough to build a whole house out of where was the I was gathering before right there [Applause] [Applause] oh God damn it Bedrock drown spawn rates my

Honestly of all of the things that are different between Java and Bedrock Edition sometimes I wonder why some of them are like the most arbitrary things like ground spawn rates all honestly I uh one of the things I prefer about uh Java Edition even though I’m still May a Bedrock player [Applause]

You know I just realiz something when you drown a zombie turn to drown um what happens if you drown a zombie villager does it also turn into a drown because I’m pretty sure it’s not like a drown zombie villager equivalent but feel like it would be weird if they

Just lost all their villager traits I mean can you not like cure it something like I mean obviously game wise you can’t I just sometimes wonder like why are there distinctions between round zombies and stuff because I because they are from the same cause pretty can get in infected by like ground and

Other like that on her just get Night Never smelt dream Um definitely not much um no coal Left no bricks oh wait you only need four bricks to craft a brick block that’s unrealistic yet Convenient I’ll just finish off this mining for some actually I [Applause] like [Applause] Now we’ll just be there bre Whatever El at least I Have I can make a for next video like like building stuff going to do try to do a fair bit of building this video video Even though I uh or at least resource Gathering and maybe I’ll mine a bit off stream before I start proper construction but um like

But I’m pretty sure at this point I’m like the point where I want to get if not a fully great house a functional house set up by the end of this stream it’s time to go to the o iron has the first block below dirt wonder if that’s a good oh wait Hayden

Zoning out because I highly doubt anyone is just purely watching this and doing nothing else if you are I commend you for your attention humbly ask you the question why pretty sure there’s always supposed to be a just you don’t absolutely sure on that but would be One just to make sure thr like a deck under this with the chest I’m not an expert some it’s a lame sunken ship lame I feeling courageous enough to do some water mining Yes actually no I forgot I don’t have aqua affinity on this world yet uh just got I mean

Restoration whatever I don’t know what all the enchantments are I’m not a Minecraft expert anymore so um I’m pretty sure I want to make a smooth stone foundation with a main structure being built out of bricks which is why I haven’t uh actually started building yet that um where on

Earth see what are my coordinates I think how far from this and a village are you haon asks my coordinates are I really bad at retain n um is there like a shortcut for that should be a shortcut for um you know I just look take a picture of it on

My phone and repeat it um where did that damn mine sh shaft go one thing I both versions of Minecraft is the ability to um to just uh click a button and like have it auto say fill your coordinates into chat be very convenient SC if it’s so hard to find

I’ll just make a new damn mine entrance wait actually is that it right there no would have been very funny if it was though o a cave it’s a water cave though so I’m not going to be able to go through it and breathe going to Tab out briefly to um

Join the Discord but and which annoyingly kicks you out of a server on Bedrock so uh I just joined the Discord server is VC on Discord so so if uh he um oh I guess if anyone else joins me don’t to join G I’m already in it oh yeah looking for a good place to start my M want it on low y level so

Comparatively so I don’t have to I don’t want it place right accident I’ll do it here [Applause] So any you are ever find out that one of your favorite live streamers is uh your is the brother of one of of the main developer of one of your favorite games because I have found that out and I was extremely surprised I’m specifically referring to

Doug Doug and the creator of The Stanley Parable um I oh I don’t think they explicitly said their brothers but like they have the same last name and like they’re and they know each other like the degree where they just straight up like call each other and stuff so that’s a Thing and it’s like just do I have Get little CL oh I’ll sleep in a bed because it’s Polite oh wait that him over There fix that hole later um God I think he’s sleeping in a bed in the village and my little makeshift base kill them all before I can sleep oh he left right when I was able to get to sleep whatever probably just after you dinner and I’ll might join

VC guess he’s pretty near me now since I literally saw him in the way I have my hot bar have to patch that good creeper hole honestly as a kid I played with Mobs griefing off most of the time and like and the technique I used to fight creepers was

Simple let them blow up on their own oh hey is that like a big I think I just saw like a big Ravine over there that I completely missed faster hope I don’t die near that lava it’s not like I have anything valuable on me anyway though I do have

All those bricks I spend a lot of times melting um oh my phone there up time to do my ultimate technique and craft some torches I guess because it’s dark although also kill this spider no do not murder me spider thank you muring me so [Applause]

Um starting to get to the point in the Stream where no one’s actually going to be watching The Vault and no one’s watching live so I could like literally just talk about whatever I want and no one’s ever going to know I’ll get back my stuff and then I think
