EPIC: Trapping Dragon in Minecraft Hardcore

The dragon children fear it speedrunners hate it and I I want to turn it into a pet you see I’ve spent the last 1,000 days building up this awesome underwater city of leg lantis filled with Farms buildings and Rich lore and while it’s coming along great when I started

Recording this video all you could see of my base was this yeah uh we need some things above the surface so we’re going to break the game bringing the dragon from the end to the over world and building an awesome place for to fly above our base forever okay so it is day

133 and we’re finally doing something about the fact that this entire base is under the ocean line and I’m getting ready to troll Everybody by revealing this and really the plan is to build an awesome floating island to help get this build up over the surface and

For once I actually have a plan So the plan is to build a giant floating island out on top of the water to give my base a little bit something out of the ocean and to really make it pop we’re going to build all of these Stone spires around

It but then we’re going to go extra because of course we are have some waterfalls going off of it a little temple on top and a dragon we’re going to capture the dragon and bring it to the Overworld and turn it into a pet and you might be asking yourself how and I’m

Going to be honest I’m not 100% % sure how it works people who are way smarter than me figured out how to capture the dragon and throw it through a portal so that’s what we’re going to do but we will get to all the technical things it’s time to distract you by building

Something pretty and while I knew what I wanted the islands to be I didn’t have a real concrete design locked in no creative mode No Light matica No pre-planning just throwing the blocks down and going with the flow but that also means I’m not locked into to early

Ideas and I can iterate as things go at first we’re going to make spires a lot thicker but with these tiny needles reminded me of something that would actually look like a needle therefore more fitting of the name in fact the first design for this idea these would

Be mountains coming up out of the ocean itself having them flying came from the concept of trapping the dragon and since my shaders makes ore and glowberries really light up and pop I’m throwing a little bit of that into each of the individual spaces throwing in other

Stone types and making sure to use a lot of moss on the tops of the needles so that everything is looking a little bit weathered ancient and really kind of fits the theme of containing the power of the Dragon and look at it there we go I am super happy with how this all turned out all the different spires are looking awesome the different heights on everything and in the night it glows just beautifully I’m hiding in the grass yes but I can’t let myself get

Distracted this is just part one on our to-do list we have a lot more work to do so now that we’ve built the island we have three things we need to do step one we have to kill the dragon a lot step two we have to learn and do the Redstone

Appropriate to get the dragon into the Overworld and then Step 2 B we have to cry to do that we need to kill the dragon 20 times to clear the end and I’ve killed it once so uh we need some ghast tears so let’s

Because now that we safely secure the end we need to take one more Dragon treat it like we’re a react content creator and then we’re going to take one of those dragons and shove them into the Overworld okay so let’s get started I need one additional s yes perfect do

This for a minute and something very fun is happening over o that’s very wacky actually I’m going to let voice over me explain this cuz it’s complicated okay so basically what we’re trying to do is make a safe place for the dragon to spawn in the Overworld the sand makes a

Big pillar at the exact point it’ll spawn and one block of endstone will keep it circling around that location then we have to fly our way back to the end using scaffolding to get up to a specific set of coordinates up at the very top of the end blocking all of

Those off with endstone blocks so the dragon won’t destroy them these are the points that the dragon actually pathf finds to when it’s sailing around the end Island and by blocking them off you make it that the AI doesn’t have a valid place to go to and therefore glitches

Out and once the dragon is frozen you can then use slime blocks and pistons to push it into the portal to send it to the Overworld and the safe spot that we made but we need to be really careful and to do it twice perfectly cuz if we

Don’t we’re never going to be able to escape the end again one last dragon Fight now we wait cuz this is going to take a while 12 seconds Later I’ve got you now so now the dragon is trapped and we just need to get through one of those gateways to get it to duplicate this is going to be interesting very challenging but interesting I really should have done one of the ones over here over

Land my lack of proper planning aside and this is honestly one of the scariest things I’ve ever done with my hardcore world it’s not something where I’m in immediate danger where biting Withers or something very tedious where I’m going to be at it for a while but it’s

Something that I had to be extremely precise and do everything perfectly right now I’m locked in the end there is no way home without throwing yourself into the void and respawning and you can’t do that in the hardcore world so it is this very precise one block at a

Time movement of the Dragon edging them into an end Gateway where they’ll be warped away and then the island gets a a little bit confused and after a little bit should spawn a new Dragon okay if this works this Dragon should go through this Portal okay it’s gone okay now we just need to wait for the game to time out and spawn us a new dragon and after waiting around for a little while cleaning up after myself the new dragon spawned oh the new dragon spawned I didn’t even hear it they should Now get

Stuck as well once they’re Perched okay we we only need to kill this Dragon so there we go now they’re stuck this should be easy to kill now the portal should open back up if everything went according to plan okay so in this moment we have an active portal and an active dragon now

We just need to bring the two together and in order to do that we had to head up to our Dragon lobotomizing grid breaking one of the blocks so that the AI will reactivate after that we head through the Gateway right next to the one where we spawn the dragon and fly

Over to where the dragon is where it immediately starts flying right back towards the main island and flying in the void seeing nothing other than the dragon yes that is just as nerve-wracking as you might think but eventually it made the trip it also got caught underneath the island until it

Punched through the surface like a shark there they are they’ve made so many enemies but once it perches we quickly jump through the portal and relog to lock everything in place and yes now you can see when I recorded this yes it was over a full

Month ago but once we return back to the world and return to the end okay I’m so nervous there it was a dragon over an active portal and the real magic can begin because making two dragons in the end that’s Child’s Play people have done that by accident making a dragon skip

Dimensions now that is something very few have actually accomplished but the process is somewhat similar to our last bit of dragon moving using endstone pushed by Pistons to eventually move the dragon over and into position into the portal itself one more block okay oh it’s free freaking

Out it’s freaking out and no this isn’t sped up this isn’t at a a faster frame rate as soon as the dragon hits the portal its wings go Bonkers and it looks like it’s trying to flap its way out to try to escape the portal and stay in

This Dimension eventually you have to push the dragon both up and down so its bounding box gets in just the right place until eventually after moving it up out of the portal it just disappears catching up to being in the portal itself and was now hopefully safe

Automated redstone flying machines and if any of you remember my ocean draining experience you probably guess what’s about to happen oh it’s going nope oh it’s not going oh it destroyed the machine oh no but you know what they say if at first you don’t succeed try try again or start

A YouTube channel and eventually have things blow up after years but I’ve gotten comfortable for certain things in the videos I make on my channel in the things I do in my hardcore world and this is trying to push me into new spaces just like I’m pushing this Dragon

Right now I have to say this is probably the new most ridiculous thing that I’ve ever done in Minecraft I to make new bigger better things and this is just the first step so after carefully watching the coordinates as we headed towards our first transition point it

Fighting mobs down on the surface just boots on the ground and getting at it let’s get back to work once it was daytime I built up a new flying machine using leaves to just scaffold my way around to set up the second leg of this journey this should work again okay here

We go we’ll have to do a little bit of tweaking when we get to the actual proper base location but this will have to do for now everything’s normal here nothing nothing out of the ordinary what are you talking about just a man walking his Dragon it’s fine but it’s easy to

Forget how far I’ve moved to live at the ocean Monument compared to the actual spawn of the world it’s a couple thousand blocks which meant that flight took all day and by the time I was close to the island the Phantoms were back I think I think that’s it that

Could do with a little bit of tweaking so I know of a very easy way to make it easy to know when we’ve done it with a clear Target from that Beacon I spent the night building a chunk loader inside the island so the dragon would never be unloaded and therefore go

Flying off in a random Direction and as soon as it was daytime I pushed the dragon into its final position there was still one detail that I really wanted to add okay we have one last thing to do to really sell this since we’re making basically our own dragon

Island it should connect cuz you can’t just push it in like in one block cuz it’s three wide and I only have four Pistons left so we’re going to have to do this in two parts so we have one over there I’m tempted to have one

There and one there but I think if we put one up in the tall one it’ll just ping pong between that one and that one but three is a good number so let’s let’s go with three if there was an alternate title for this video it would

Be the Piston episode where I use them a lot probably more than I have in my entire hardcore playthrough ever but sneaking the crystals into the spires meant that the beams catch the Dragon and hold it in place here which really sells the whole thing I mean seriously
