Every Cancelled Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Feature

Hi everybody it’s me as we know famously minecraft 1.17 is the caves and cliffs update without any caves or clips 1.18 is the final cave update but the caves and cliffs features aren’t finished at least not all of the original features in today’s video we’ll be taking a look

Aquifer inside of the drip zone cave bomb in minecraft 1.18 drone will be able to spawn inside of the aquifers in the drip stone caves bomb it’s actually kind of cool because drown drop copper and copper is more common in the drip zone caves and drown throat tridents and

Tridents can actually knock drip stone down which is yeah kinda neat in 1.18 snapshot 21w39a an interesting change was made to drowned in this biome in that snapshot drone became the only type of zombie that would be able to spawn inside of the drip zone caves bomb one

Snap shot later it was reverted drown will spawn here still but zombies can spawn in this biome too a tweet from hendrick one of the developers who has been putting in those hours getting that bread working on the 1.18 generation about drip zone cave spawn changes we

Kind of like that thing about zombies not spotting the drips on caves but we reverted it for now since we don’t have time to test it and balance it properly for this update maybe in the future so the devs initially liked the idea of adding a little bit more customization

When it comes to the biomes at least with the drip zone cave biome unfortunately they won’t be making it into 1.18 but it definitely makes me wonder did they have anything like this in mind for the lush caves too unless something changes by the time it drops 1.80 will come with two survival

Features that you can’t get in survival they’re locked behind commands radon in the future that’ll change but not right now the first one is the skulk sensor back when 1.18 was announced it actually wasn’t announced because caves and cliffs was originally meant to be one solid update with a skulk sensor the

Skulk sensor when it was shown off and still to this day is one of the strangest redstone contraptions in the entire game this thing is advanced like crazy crazy advanced obviously it emits a redstone signal when it detects a vibration which can of course power things but we can actually sort this

Signal too with a comparator so we can basically tell if it was like a jump or if it was a block place or something like that it’s really really cool you can also use wool to cut off the signal detection so you can move around and

Jump as much as you want which is really cool but the skull sensor isn’t finished for sure not finished on bedrock maybe not finished on java either it’ll come to the game in the 1.19 wild update the skulk sensor itself is crazy complex but there are also things relating to the

Skulk sensor which makes all the skulk stuff even more advanced the skull catalyst the skull catalyst was originally planned to be in the caves and cliffs update the skull catalyst was really mysterious they actually didn’t mention it at the 2020 minecraft live but it was there minecraft live this

Year made it a lot more clear what this thing actually does and then more recently it made it to the bedrock betas technically this thing is available on bedrock right now but only in the betas it won’t be in survival until 1.19 the thing is really strange it basically

Takes the souls of things that go away by it uh like this minecraft villager for example and turns it into skulk blocks like that right there also when it’s doing the whole soul-to-skull conversion uh really cool particle effects come out of the block too that right there that cool pattern and then

Like the soul escaping from the block it’s super interesting but it’s not only super interesting it’s also potentially very very useful too in minecraft 1.19 when the skull catalyst comes to the game the skulk block will also come to the game too how it works right now you

Take the skull catalyst place it down near certain blocks that you don’t care about it dirt is a valid block that’ll work then take something out near it it could be a villager it could be a cow you take the thing out the thing goes away the blocks turn to skulk then you

Mind the skulk blocks and you get even more experience it’s a pretty unique and strange concept it’ll be interesting to see how these things get expanded on in future betas and snapshots one point seventeen had a glow lichen i mean glow-liking is nice i don’t really have

Any strong takes on it it’s atmospheric it’s cool 1.19 will be adding the skulk vein item that kind of looks like glow lichen but definitely isn’t glow-liking at all it doesn’t glow just like the skulk block the skulk vein forms when you take something out in your skull catalyst originally shown off in

Minecraft live 2020 to this day it’s still pretty mysterious we don’t exactly know what the stuff is for is it just an aesthetic spreading of skulk or does it actually have a function we’ll have to wait till 1.19 okay okay i promise this is the final skulk thing on the list

Today all of the skull things were originally meant to be in the caves and cliffs update the skull streaker is by far the coolest one so this thing gives the darkness effect it’ll summon the warden in 1.19 uh look at this when we get the darkness like things get so dark

Like the candles over there you can’t even see the candles basically the torch over there it’ll basically like almost disappear the thing is so interesting just like the other skull things this thing was teased a little bit earlier on unlike the other skulk things this is the one that i’m definitely most

Interested in is so so cool looking and this isn’t even the right model there’s a new model coming soon and functionally this thing is fascinating the closest thing in the game right now to the skulk streaker block is the elder guardian they both give you effects this is gonna

Be so cool concept art is really cool and usually like really really good looking too at minecraft live 2020 when the caves and cliffs update was being revealed this concept art was shown off check this thing out so we have glowberries driply plant azaleas and spore blossom spore blossom is the big

One spore bosses will finally be making it into the game in survival in 1.18 in 1.17 they were locked behind commands and 1.18 they’ll be generating instead of the lush caves bomb that’s pretty cool back to the concept are though the concept art has two versions of the

Sport blossom the version that we currently have that is open and a closed version of the spore blossom as well the closed version of the sport blossom definitely doesn’t exist in the game right now and there has been no mention of it and in fact i i don’t think a

Single mention of it at all literally the only version of the spore blossom that we have is this thing right here and it hasn’t been changed in so long like it’s really really cool the particle effects are nice and everything but the closing thing could have been

Even more interesting like you close the sporoblast and then the particles stop and then you open it and they start again it could have been a super interesting mechanic maybe this is done with redstone maybe it’s done manually either way cool from the looks of the latest snapshots and based off of some

Other stuff that we know the caves and cliffs update will be coming soon basically nobody has said anything about the spore blossom being able to be closed so it’s probably pretty safe to say that this feature unfortunately won’t be making into the final release of the caves and cliffs update it would

Have been really interesting to see though like what would it have done the bundle the poor poor bundle massacred in front of our eyes some people said right from the start that this thing was nothing more than a less good shulker box kind of true i will admit but it’s

Completely different the shulker box is late game this was meant to be early game early game if you could get it of course you need rabbit hud right now the bundle is the second survival feature that is only accessible behind commands in the 1.18 update this is a bundle right here

It’s not on bedrock edition then it probably won’t be on bedard for a long time allegedly they don’t exactly know how to make controls work for this thing on bedrock because you know an ipad and xbox they’re a little bit different than a computer for sure controls are

Different the bundle had so much potential i sincerely hope that the bundle has not been just forever abandoned i’m kind of worried about it though like i felt like from the start a quarter of the community mercilessly massacred this thing and and i really hope sincerely that this thing hasn’t been abandoned

Forever like even if it only makes it to one version of the game i i know virgin parody and all yeah yeah i know i know but like please like it was such a cool idea i think it’s so nice bundle please be alive please also i remember the

The time it gets added to the game in 1.19 this will most likely be one of the coolest and most revolutionary mobs to ever be added to this game the thing is completely terrifying and completely game changing gotta be honest i’m happy ecstatic even though the warden isn’t in

The caves and cliffs update old warden this thing right here keep it it’s garbage i don’t want it i’m not interested in it i only say that because the new version of the warden the version that was shown off a couple weeks ago at minecraft live is far

Superior it’s way better than the 1.17 or 1.18 warden could have ever been depending on the drop date of 1.19 by the time the water makes it into the game this thing could have been in development for potentially like two years so that’s insane for a single feature it’s straightforward more

Development time means more time to put thought into the thing means more time to work on it means more time to improve it the newest version of the warden that we saw this year is way better and the latest version of the deep dark the

Third biome that was meant to be in the caves and glyphs update is the best version of it by far too because the deep dark has been delayed to the 1.19 update we will be getting gigantic ancient cities where the warden lives and all these skull things are and it’s

Just like strange and eerie and really really creepy honestly i’m excited for 1.19 i think right now based off of the things that we know about the update 1.19 has the potential to be the most game-changing update ever and that’s kind of crazy because 1.18 redo’s all of

Generation the postponing of the deep dark and all of the features tied to it was for sure a big bummer and it definitely cuts down on the size of the caves and cliffs update making it way way smaller but it’s probably for the better one thing that isn’t for the better just

A complete tragedy to be honest is archaeology archaeology was shown off at minecraft live 2020 and then completely postponed earlier this year in the spring archaeology was brutally ripped from the caves and cliffs update when it was split in half the hole left wide open not even treated or anything highly

Susceptible to infection not good at all to make things even worse potentially archaeology treated like the victims of the salem witch trials not even given a single chance the developers did it like they actually really really didn’t i get it there wasn’t time but this had so

Much potential it could have been so cool but instead archaeology’s current reality has been sent off to some farm we’re told it’s happy but we really have no clue if anything archaeology is the great tragedy of the caves and cliffs update if archaeology were to have made

It into the game you would have been able to find random ancient ruins around your world you go and dig through them with a brush tool like literally carving away layers of a block to find things sometimes you find diamond blocks sometimes emerald blocks sometimes pieces of pots which are admittedly way

Less cool but also kind of cool at the same time my favorite part about the archaeology system was honestly the pots because i thought they looked really really cool and i like how you could piece them together and create a story or just some kind of crazy looking

Picture it could have been so nice i sincerely hope that archaeology doesn’t become just some lost feature there was no mention of it at all in minecraft live which i was kind of shocked about i really hope it makes it into the game at some point in the future and is expanded

On it could be a whole update of its own it’s just sad that’s that’s just sad man that’s all i can say 1.18 will be changing everything rivers are rivers now finally mountains or mountains you know everything changes that’s the point of the update one thing that it won’t be

Changing though at least that much is how stone generates in an earlier version of 1.18 generation it looked a lot like granite diorite things like that would be generating in bands kind of like in the badlands biome instead of how they generate now like in clusters

The best way to explain it is to show it off this screenshot right here is terrible low resolution i blame the minecraft wiki why would they allow this but this shows it off perfectly on the side of the mountain right there the stone is in bins instead of clusters

Super interesting concept how it works right now i don’t think it’s bad at all but it definitely would be cool to see that banding and other bottoms because it looks so so good in the mesa like amazing top tier but it’s not here and it probably won’t be okay this is me

Coming back in while i was editing the video because i had a really cool idea imagine a mountain bomb kind of like the sony peaks but it’s like banded mountain so take the stone in that singular biome and like band it make stripes of it just

Like in that picture oh my gosh it would be so good looking you could take all the stones too tough calcite granite diorite even like all of them it would look so good can somebody make this as a data pack or something the devs seem to be working on parody polishing and

Blending right now which means big changes in 1.18 at least when it comes to generation are probably done for more big changes means even more work means probably not going to happen unfortunately to be clear to my knowledge the banding of stone was never officially mentioned as a caves and

Cliffs feature though when it was initially shown off it could have just been weird generation or something ah yes the elytra the elytra is amazing the elytra is also basically the only way to travel around the game once you’re late game it’s so efficient it’s so nice and

The last experimental snapshot for 1.18 that dropped earlier this year some really really nice changes were made to the elytra then in the first real 1.8 in snapshot all of the changes that were made to the elytra were erased there were a couple different changes the goal

Was not simple at all make the elytra less insanely op my favorite change of the batch that was made had to do with gliding the elytra would take zero durability damage when gliding only when boosting it was amazing but just like drowned only inside of the drip zone

Caves the chains was reverted due to time there wasn’t enough time to work on the elytra and test the balancing i definitely hope that the developers eventually one day come back to these electric changes though because i think they were potentially really really good maybe with a little bit more testing and

Balancing could have been really nice for the elite trail finally the gold horn the goat horn is the final cancel the caves and cliffs feature at least that i could come up with the gold horn is mysterious and has always been insanely mysterious the goat horn is

Only on better architecture and still is but isn’t going to be in the caves and cliffs update the mechanic to get a goat horn is actually pretty interesting completely unique goats ram sometimes when a girl tries to ram maybe it’ll miss it’ll hit a block then the goat

Drops its horn pretty cool you use the gold horn and it makes the raid noise why i have no clue the noise is mostly just a placeholder noise it probably will be changed later the goat horn will make the goat more interesting eventually i mean they’re cool and all

They can jump they can ram that’s pretty neat they add life to the mountains which is nice for sure but a true purpose makes things even better since the thing was postponed in such a low key way it never even made it to the java snapshots and also it has to do

With noise i kind of think the thing might have something to do with the warden but we’ll have to wait and see 1.17 was a big update 1.18 is doing big things if combined into one singular caves and cliffs update it becomes one of the biggest if not the biggest update
