– Welcome, island goers. You’re about to watch episode one of Survive Block Island: Meltdown. It’s home to 12 competitors who will be forced to contend with the elements as well as themselves, as they fight to survive. – The paranoia has clouded my vision. – [Lil Lexi] There’s definitely some people I don’t quite trust.

– [Blessing] Right now, it’s life or death for me. – [Lindsey] Do you fall in love on this series? – [Trevor] Each week, competitors will face off in new challenges— – [Blaine] Come on, come on. (group cheering) – [Jack] Yeah Red Team, let’s go!

– [Trevor] —while putting their social skills to the test. – I am not your cunning, backstabbing type of person. – If they were smart, they would vote me out first. – Boom, go baby! All gas, no brakes. – [Trevor] The only way to survive is together.

– [Blizzb3ar] This is a stacked team, and then there’s me. – I help the team morally. I think that’s important too. – I’m not here to stab anybody in the back. – That’s how the game is played. – [Trevor] But the only way to win is alone. This is Survive Block Island: Meltdown.

Another gorgeous day back on the island, and here come our fresh set of competitors. – [Blaine] A beautiful summer getaway. – [Blizzb3ar] I’m so excited. – [Lindsey] Here we go. – [FooYa] Let’s go! – [Gavin] Summer Boys. – [Michael] Lava Boys, Volcano Boys! – [Bless] Oh my god. It’s finally happening. – [Lexi] Watch where you’re driving.

– [Andrew] Oh, bumping into people. Sorry. – [Lindsey] This isn’t bumper boats. – [Andrew] Sorry about that. – [Trevor] Hello, everyone. – [Jack] Hey, it’s Trevor. – [Blaine] Trevor! – [Meg] How do you get out again? – [Lexi] Come on, Meg. – [Meg] Wait, Shift—got it, I’m out.

To Survive: Block Island Meltdown. This will be your home for the next nine days. – [Lindsey] Let’s go! – [Blessing] Let’s go! – [Trevor] And on this island, you’ll compete in a series of challenges designed to test your gaming and social skills. (Lexi gasps) – [Blaine] Uh oh. – [Blizzb3ar] Oh, boy. – [Blaine] I lack one of those. – [Jack] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

– [Blessing] Don’t worry, I’m nervous too. – Looking around you, it looks nice over here, but you’ll notice later on that the weather here is quite extreme. One side of the island fell victim to a recent volcanic eruption, leaving it barren, covered in lava and ash.

The other side of the island isn’t any more friendly. There you will find dangerously low temperatures and plenty of ice, making the land equally hostile. – [FooYa] Damn. – Due to the extreme weather, food and water will be very scarce, and also very important. – [Meg] Oh God. – [Gavin] (bleep)

– When not competing in challenges, you will have to scavenge for food across the island. (FooYa gasps) – What? – [Trevor] Farming and water-filtering back at base will become essential to your gameplay. – [Blessing] Oh, man. – [Trevor] Both environments will impact your ability to survive. – And we’ve leveraged this very dichotomy

To name the team. Fire and Ice. – [Everyone] Ooh, hmm, whoa. – [Michael] What, what? – [FooYa] I thought it was Red versus Blue. – You’ll need to rely on your teammates for survival at both your base camps and during the competitions. Losing teams will face elimination ceremonies at the Chopping Block, while challenge winners will be granted immunity. One other way to stay safe is the elusive Totem of Undying. (pan flute piping) These will be hidden throughout the world and can be used once per totem to grant you temporary immunity at the Chopping Block. (record scratching) – [Michael] Oh, I got it. – [Blaine] Go get that totem. – [Meg] Damn, he’s already looking. – [Micheal] (bleep), there’s not one under here.

– Oh, good looking out. – I was checking, man. – [Blaine] Strategic. – [Trevor] All right, all right, moving on. Let’s go ahead and find out who our teams are going to be. Go ahead. So I’m going into this with a very open mindset on how I’m gonna take things head-on. – [Gavin] Goodbye, my woman. – [Meg] Goodbye! – [Jack] Wait, are you talking to Michael or Meg? – [Meg] How dare you? – I think that people will always see couples in these kinds of competitions as the voting block. So I’m excited to be separated from Gav at the beginning, but, um, I feel good about our team. – [John] How do I get in? What’s going on here, boat?

My expectations as I start this venture is just trying to prove my worth to the team, so they don’t get rid of me for being a noob. – [Lindsey] Who’s in my, who’s behind me? – [FooYa] I’m in your boat. – [Lindsey] Okay. Wait, where are we going? (laughs)

You know, I feel like I am a strong competitor, in the sense that I have a great wealth of Minecraft knowledge. And I spend a lot of time watching, like, reality TV shows. A lot of ’em have to do with love, but do you know, do you fall in love

On this series? (soft marimba music) – [Michael] Uh, we’re going to the right, Meg. – [Meg] Where? – [Michael] No. – [Meg] Oh, (bleep). – I like my team, but none of them know how to play Minecraft. I find myself somehow as one of the two veterans, which is not good.

Meg, is it just me, or does it feel more impactful they split up me and Gav than you and Gav? – I think it is more impactful, but you know, that’s okay. (Michael laughs) Hey, you know what they didn’t split up? – [Michael] What’s that? – [Meg] Team Winners. – [Michael] Oh!

– [Lexi] Oh, I see it. – [Blaine] Land ho! – [Andrew] Oh, so close. Oh there it is. (laughs) – [Blizz] Oh. – [Gavin] Wow. – [Andrew] This is- – [Gavin] This looks like hell. – [Blizz] Oh, there’s beds. (Jack cheers) – [Blaine] Everyone take a bed. – [Jack] Oh we got a book. – [Lexi] I want a bed. – Everyone’s take a book. I don’t know if my skillset is really, you know, fit for this kind of role. I like Minecraft. I’m a good builder.

I’m good platforming. But when it comes to stabbing people in the back and all that, that’s not me. – [FooYa] You wanna have a race? (imitates a motor) – [Blessing] Yeah let’s race, first ones there. – [Michael] You’re about to lose. – [Lindsey] Wait, we’re all on the same team.

– [FooYa] Oh, there’s ice! – [Lindsey] All right, here we are. – [Michael] Boosh! – [Lindsey] Can we keep our boat? Should we? – [Michael] I don’t know, I’m leaving it there. I ain’t carrying that (bleep). – There’s a big challenge in not being a seasoned Minecraft player, but I think my team seems pretty strong.

We have Lindsey, who knows what she’s doing. Michael, who seems like he knows what he’s doing. So with them by my side, I’m feeling pretty good about this. – [Lindsey] Where are we meant to be going? – [Micheal] Uh, there was a flag, right?

There’s a blue flag, we were told. – [FooYa] I see nothing but snow. – [John] I’m just gonna look at this tree. – I know working with Lindsey, Michael, and Meg might be my strong suit because I know them more. But also, don’t tell anyone this, but Meg is my weak card.

I will die for Meg. I won’t vote her out, even if she turns on me, I refuse. – [Michael] Now there is like a farming aspect, but quite honestly it disgusts me and I hate it (Meg laughs) and I’m not gonna do it. So if someone wants to farm, I mean.

– [Meg] I’m down to go huntin’. – [FooYa] I’ll go with you, Meg. – [Meg] Yeah. – [Blessing] Whoa, look at this bird. – [John] Oh, kill it! – [Blessing] It’s a bird, – It’s food! – [Meg] Don’t kill it. – [John] Do we not want to eat? – [Blaine] Who’s who’s gonna be our designated fisherman? – [Blessing] I could be a fisherman. – [Jack] You guys, we got a solid team. – [Blaine] A lot of teamwork going on. I’m liking the sounds of this. – [Meg] We’re still looking for the base.

– [Lindsey] Where is the… we gotta find it. – [John] I know… – [Lindsey] We gotta find the… – [John] Guys, we’re already- – [Lindsey] We’re closer back to the shore? – [FooYa] Oh. – [Blaine] It also says that swimming helps with keeping temperature low. So I feel like that’s an argument

For possibly beach house area. – [Jack] All right. I’m gonna work on a farm here. Uh, by the way, If anyone wants to knock down like grass and get seeds. – [Andrew] Okay, do we need a hoe or anything for that? – Nope, nope. You just hit it with anything, seeds should…

– What’d you call me? – No, never. – [Meg] We did it. – [Michael] Our first victory as Blue Team! It was not in the forest. – [FooYa] Oh we have a survival guide, we have beds. I feel like everyone take their own bed. – Present teams, I would like to form an alliance with Meg for sure.

And maybe we can roll FooYa in there just because I delight in her ignorance. – [FooYa] I wanna go inland, you wanna go? – [Michael] Hey, don’t go too far. Don’t get lost. – I’m with you. We go together. – Oh, you’re talking to me. Okay. – Yeah, duh?

– All right, well how would I know? – [Jack] Let’s go, Gavin, Oh, it’s emerging from behind Jack’s head. – [FooYa] Team Ice! – [Michael] FooYa, get out you’re slowing me down. – No, don’t say that! – I’d be faster if you weren’t in the boat. – [Andrew] This looks so cool! – [Lexi] This looks crazy.

– [Trevor] Well, welcome everybody to your first challenge, The Puzzle Rush. This challenge will be quite simple, unless you’re easily fooled by foliage. Each team will be waiting in their starting area. And when I start the challenge, teams will send someone out one at a time

Into the forest to scramble for puzzle pieces. Once you found one, return to your team as quickly as possible. Upon your return, the next player on your team is free to sprint into the jungle and search for yet another puzzle piece. In total, there are 11 puzzle pieces.

And once you have all 11, you are free to proceed to the next phase, which is solving the puzzle. First team to complete the puzzle properly will win the challenge and be safe from tonight’s vote at the Chopping Block. And before we begin, I have a little wrinkle.

Both teams have a Totem of Undying, hidden somewhere out there that they can retrieve. If you choose to find it, you can have that. It will be a one-time immunity whenever you want to play it. However, it might be at the expense of your team winning today.

So be careful how long you take out there. Any questions? – Can I have it? – I promise you can have it if you find it. – Are you guys worried that you’re gonna get voted off your team? – [Michael] Come over to the Blue side and say that. – [Lindsey] No, we don’t need it. We’re just getting we’re here for the puzzle. – [Michael] I dare you.

– [Blaine] It’s not worth it, Lexi. – Well, it sounds like you’re all chomping at the bit to go jumping into the jungle. So you know what? Let’s go ahead and get you all on the starting lines, and we can get this challenge underway. – Should we throw FooYa in first? – [FooYa] Okay, I’ll go. Can I break stuff?

– [Michael] No, you don’t have to, do not break stuff. – [FooYa] No, but the vines are in the way. – [Michael] No, no, you don’t need to break anything, please. – [Trevor] All right. Now that we are in the starting position. – [Blaine] Come on, Gavin. – [Gavin] All right, I’m not gonna bother looking for a totem ’cause I was gone for about an hour there. – [Blessing] Yeah, this is it. – [Michael] I’m not concerned that Lindsey found the totem. – [Meg] Yeah, you were in there for literally a second.

– [Blessing] Oh, how many do they have already? – [Michael] We’re tied. Oh no, four. They got four. – Yes. – [Trevor] Fire Team has four pieces. Ice Team has three pieces. – [Lindsey] So this is our chance to catch up. – [Trevor] Blaine is returning for Fire Team with his fifth piece.

– [Lindsey] No, son of a (bleep)! – [Jack] Gav is totally right. Look back like every 20 steps or so. – [Andrew] You gotta place it on the stand. – [Blizz] Here, I got it. – [Michael] John, are you all right? – [Meg] Oh, here he comes!

– [John] Eh, pick it up, pick it up. – [Lindsey] John’s back! Go Michael, go! – [Trevor] Ice Team is back with yet another puzzle piece. At this rate, can Fire Team keep their lead? – [Jack] I’m coming back! – [Meg] What the (bleep) is this puzzle?

– [FooYa] I think those are ice. It’s ice, ice and lava blocks. And then we have a person in the middle. Oh wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh and then there’s gonna be an ice block. It’s gonna be ice and fire on this side.

– [Jack] You think there’d be one up Here, Huh? That’d be really cool If there was. I’m probably overthinking this. – Ow, my legs! (grunting heavily) I almost died. Is that a puzzle piece? Oh, sweet. – [Blaine] Jack’s coming back. Who’s first? – [Lexi] I’m next, right? I go again?

– [Jack] I’m back, go, go, go! – [Blaine] Go yo, yo, yo! – [Trevor] Jack is back with six pieces. That means Fire Team is more than halfway completed with their search. – [Meg] Oh, there he is! – [Trevor] Ice Team is back with another puzzle piece. – [Lindsey] Yes, go Meg, go.

– [Michael] Didn’t take that long at all! – [Lindsey] Go. – [FooYa] I know where this one goes. Look, look guys, you see this piece? You see this piece right here? I think it goes this way. – [Michael] I’m. not worried about it because they’re kicking our ass!

So let’s worry about I If we get more pieces, huh? – [Meg] Oh there’s one, yes, – [Michael] They are hidden in there, I will say. Nowhere near FooYa-level of not finding them. – [FooYa] Dude, I was panicking. I didn’t know how obvious it would be if I had to get specific.

– [Michael] Yeah, we know you were panicking. – [Lexi] Guys, guys, guys, guys! – [Blaine] Lexi’s back. Blizz, Blizz, Blizz! – [Lexi] Go all the way to the end of the peninsula. Second to last tree, there’s a chest there with a piece in it.

– [Jack] Second to last tree, second to last tree. – [Trevor] Lexi returns with luscious Intel. Four pieces to go for Fire Team. – [Michael] Meg! – [Meg] I’m back, I’m back! I got it! – [Michael] Yes, she’s got it! – [John] Hey, there she goes, all right!

– [FooYa] Good job, good job. I’m so proud of you, I love you! – [Lindsey] Go FooYa! – [Trevor] Ice Team’s got another piece. Remember, whichever team loses this challenge will be headed to the Chopping Block— – [Blizz] Let’s go! – [Trevor] —where one player will be eliminated. – [FooYa] Got it, boom!

– [Jack] This one here is either middle or top. – [John] Okay. – [FooYa] I got one! – [Michael] Nice job, that was great. That was so much faster. – Did someone get the closest chest? I just walked past the chest. You gotta look backwards though. – [Lindsey] I already got that one!

– [Blaine] Blizz is coming! – [Blizz] I know where one is, I know where one is. – [Gavin] Oh, where is it, Blizz? – [Blizz] Five trees before the jumping puzzle. Look around. – [Gavin] Thank you! – [Trevor] Fire Team, what’s the status? How many you got left?

– [Jack] We’re feeling good, Trevor. I think we have three left. – [Trevor] Ice Team, how are you looking? – [Michael] Four left. – [Gavin] Excellent. – [Meg] So I think this is very clearly gonna be three ice cubes on one side, three fireballs on one side.

– [FooYa] Shh, very loud, they’re gonna listen. – [Michael] Well I don’t think it’s gonna matter. – [Gavin] I’m coming back. – [Blaine] Gav’s coming back. Andrew.! – [Andrew] Okay, get ready. – [Gavin] This is the one that Blizz called out. – Atta boy! – [Trevor] Fire Team is dominating this race.

– [Blaine] Did you guys find the secret castle one? The underground one? – What? – Nothing. – [Andrew] I’m coming back! – [Blaine] Give me some Intel. What do you see out there, what’s going on? – [Andrew] I (bleep)—oh my God! – He’s running back, he’s running back.

He turned around and ran back. – [Gavin] Did he not take it? – [Trevor] Andrew went right back into the forest. Fire Team, do you trust what’s going on with Andrew Panton? – [Jack] No? (laughs) – [Trevor] Andrew Panton panicking, as he’s trying to find that second to last piece for Fire Team.

– [FooYa] I think we should go over there and act like we’re on the Fire Team. They’ll never know. (group laughing) – [Andrew] ‘Kay, I’m on my way back. I am so sorry. – [Blizz] Oh, wait, Andrew’s back with the map. [Blaine] Alright, what should I avoid, where should I go?

– I went all the way back and I didn’t see anything. – Okay. – [Trevor] Andrew Panton, I hear that you dropped your puzzle piece and completely lost it, is that true? – [Andrew] Did I? I don’t know if I did or not, or if I didn’t grab it.

So wait, we might have one on the Floor. – [Trevor] I’m getting word that Andrew Panton’s puzzle piece slipped out of his fingers and it is lying on the jungle floor. – [Andrew] Wait, is that what happened? – [Gavin] Did you butter up your hands? – [Andrew] I don’t know.

– [Jack] Blaine, he dropped the piece. – [Blaine] All right, that’s the jumping course that Gavin already did. – [Jack] He dropped the piece, Blaine, it’s on the floor! – [Blaine] Is it worth swimming out there? – [Jack] Check the floor! – [Trevor] Fire Team, you have one piece

Left to find and it is somewhere on the jungle floor. Ice Team, you got three pieces missing. You’re falling behind! – [Michael] Dude, where is Blessing? I’m not losing this challenge because of him. – [Jack] So did you just drop it, what happened? – [Andrew] I was trying to run through the woods and I got caught up, and I must have just accidentally hit my B button with it in my hands. – [Jack] Are you playing on a controller?!

And I’m not feeling that energy. To be honest, a lot of that for me comes from Michael. – Well, I’m gonna hit the elephant in the room here. Somebody got that totem. – Yeah. – I would hope somebody found the key with how much time we spent,

Which I do think is worth discussion. – I wasn’t looking for the totem. I went in and got my chest and left. I feel like the only two people that could have found that totem is either Blessing or FooYa. – Yeah. – Blessing, I don’t know what he was doing in there.

I just felt like the other team was finding them really easily. And I feel like there’s definitely some moments where people were in there a little bit too long. They were looking for that totem. – I think just from my perception in what we just played, FooYa took about a thousand years

But I’m looking forward to seeing the outcomes of this, and to see what people think about who should stay and who should go. – Very interesting. FooYa, I think you might be in a similar position as to what Blessing is feeling. You’re a little newer at the game,

But because of how the challenge went down, you both were out there for quite some time. Do you feel like that’s putting a lot of heat on you? Like a targets on your back? – I think necessary, it’s just probably easier to vote the ones that struggled, I guess.

Not because of me being ashamed of anybody on this team. I’m really proud of everyone on this team. I think that we put our best foot forward and it’s just a really sad moment for all of us that so soon one of us is gonna be leaving.

And you know, it could be anybody, honestly. I tried to just come here and do my best for the team, but whatever happens, it’s gonna happen. – I’ve punched by accident. It wasn’t towards you. (Meg laughing) I just clicked by accident. – I just thought you’re gonna cheer me.

– Well, I wanna dive into that aggression there, Michael. When it comes to the camp life, do you see anyone peeling off? Do you see any alliances forming? Do you catch wind of any gossip out there? – I don’t know. There could be plots.

I’m curious if anyone stumbled across a totem in the wild. I think most of us did fine. I mean, maybe this is weird for the first game, but I feel like no one hates anyone. Let’s remember, whoever gets voted off. They did this to us.

– John, do you feel like anyone on your team— go ahead and look ’em in their Minecraft eyes. Do you think anyone on this team is holding a Totem of Undying, right now? – I was told earlier people said they didn’t have it,

So I’m gonna take their word for it that they don’t. But if it gets played, man, it’s gonna sting. It’s gonna be hard to trust anybody’s words. – Meg, do you think anyone is undecided going into tonight with their vote? – I don’t think that anyone’s completely

Undecided, has absolutely no idea of which vote they’re gonna cast when they go over there. But yeah, I think that this is gonna be a really big vote for us going forward. – Well, you know what? I think it’s time to start voting. – Let’s do it. – All right.
