Creating a Free Minecraft Server Without Port Forwarding
Are you looking to set up your own Minecraft server without the hassle of port forwarding? Look no further! In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to create a free Minecraft server in just 60 seconds without the need for port forwarding. Let’s dive in!
Choosing the Server Type
First, you’ll need to choose the type of server you want to run. For plug-in support, options like PaperMC or Spigot are recommended. For this tutorial, we’ll use PaperMC. Simply sign up for ngrok, a tool that will allow you to create a secure tunnel to your local server.
Setting Up the Server
Once you’ve signed up for ngrok, download the ngrok executable and create a folder for your server. Place your server jar file in the folder and rename it to server.jar for convenience. Next, create a bat file named run.bat and paste the following command into it:
java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar server.jar nogui
If you want to allocate more or less memory, feel free to play around with the RAM values. Additionally, create another bat file named runngrok.bat and put the following command in it:
ngrok tcp 25565
Opening Up Ports
Now, open up the command prompt in administrator mode and paste the following command to allow the opening of ports:
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=”Minecraft Port 25565″ dir=in action=allow protocol=TCP localport=25565
Once you’ve completed these steps, run the run.bat file and follow the instructions to complete the EULA. Then, run the runngrok.bat file. The IP provided by ngrok is what you’ll give to your friends to join your server. And there you have it! You’ve successfully set up a free Minecraft server without port forwarding in just 60 seconds.
