Hey everybody my name is Whitman Oh welcome on back to Minecraft today we’re gonna be building that lovely lovely wooden castle up on that hill right there behind me before we get to that one though let’s check out a wooden castle we’ve done in the past a month or Two ago at this point I decided inside of my survival world to come up here and tackle a Nordic village I felt like our Nordic village needed some type of y’all’s outpost of sorts which resulted in this wooden castle back here on the hill I absolutely loved this one I Thought it was a great design I really like the amount of depth that I was able to build into the castle and I wanted to just quickly take the time to be able to show this one off to y’all before we get into the today’s time-lapse here because I think it’s a really cool way that you can build like a winter themed Nordic castle we’re gonna be going for a little bit of a different theme for the one that we’re building in today’s video but I just want to quickly pan ode back to this guy right here because it’s just Such a cool one all of the different windows it’s all made out of wood but one thing that it has is it doesn’t really look boring whether we’re mixing up the spruce wood in here using some of the stripped logs as well instead of just the planks there’s just a lot of Extra depth to this one and bringing in little bits of cobblestone to be the accent blocks when you’re making that stone castle you’re probably doing the exact opposite so it can still work both ways here well let’s get into today’s time-lapse in our last time lapse video We built up this little mini village and dock right over here and the whole time I was building up that project I kept looking at this hill behind us where we’re gonna be working there with all the birch trees on it and just thought wow that would be something really cool To work on all I have to do is chop down all the trees one thing I’ve been really trying to look at inside of Minecraft is looking at the shape of the terrain that is like underneath instead of what all the trees are covering so in dark oak Forests jungles etc birch Forest Hills right here it’s kind of difficult to really take a look at the terrain and be like wow that’d be something really cool to look at or work on because but there’s so many trees so what am I gonna do and let’s be honest chopping trees It’s not the most difficult thing but it is a little time-consuming to do but thankfully we have worldedit to be able to do that here for us in this case I’m using a wand brush the is replacing all of the oak leaves and our sorry birch leaves and birch logs With air if for everybody who’s been asking about that I’ve been seeing that question a lot in the comments so it’s just a it’s a brush that does air blocks in anyways I’m blabbing on here let’s move on into the build for today here we are going to be building up a wooden Themed castle for this build today I want to take a little bit of a challenge for myself and only use wood besides what we’re gonna be using for the roofing block which we’re gonna use some granite to keep it a little bit on the warmer side but anyways I want to use Just some wooden colors in here and see what I can come up with so we’re using a lot of spruce and we’re using a lot of oak in here mostly the oak that we’re using is actually gonna be the oak log block because I think that’s a cool way To go ahead and kind of keep it more that same spruce II color the color on those are pretty similar and they blend well together enough then using a bunch of course straight in here is gonna help kind of blend everything and beyond that then we’ll be bringing in a bunch of Leaves and everything afterwards to help sit it are situated better into the terrain but here coming forwards we’re gonna be building up the little gate house on this one using some barrels in here cuz that’s a cool way of still using a wooden colored block but having It look a little bit more strapped and sturdy and just stronger and more fortified because there’s those little iron strappings on them to make it look more like a barrel than just a weird wooden plank coming into here though we’re using this kind of weird pattern For the upper layers to make the wooden areas a lot more interesting I’ve been using a lot of stairs to add some depth into these ones so it’s just a upside-down stair and a regular stair just kind of using that to make it look like there’s a 1/4 of a block missing or Half a block missing and then for the area where the guards would be standing on top of the gatehouse instead of adding traditional glass windows in here I want to just make an open-air thing using some spruce trapdoors to kind of make it look more like paneling in this Case I feel like looking back I probably could have used some oak trapdoors made it even more open I was thinking about using those in the middle to be an actual like window thing but I felt like that was a little weird in this case I coming up here we’re Using a little bit of oak plank action in there this is the only spots we’re using it to make the roofs a little bit brighter on themselves and then just quickly copying it over there because you just saw me build up one so you don’t need to see me build up the other One right in order to speed things up here and get some more work done in the video I figured we’d use a little tiny bit of world out here to you paste things around because it is possible using structure blocks inside of Minecraft so I don’t feel like it’s Too insane coming over here I’m using a bit of a like a palisade wall pattern for our wall bits that aren’t part of a structure building or a tower or something along those lines I just feel like that’s just an easy way to do it Just using a bunch of logs piled up here making sure that they’re not too many in a straight line you don’t want to be flat and just adding that easy depth by moving a block forward or block backwards is a great way to do it then Coming over this one this would be kind of like a gathering hall of sorts maybe a mess hall or a bunker and just using a lot of general ideas here using a lot of oak trapdoors to be windows throughout this area so a lot of guards could see Out easily then doing the same pattern we’ve been doing for the roof on this one I figure it’s kind of an easy way to tackle all of this stuff using a weird bit of a spruce trim on the end of the roof and then underneath the granite That’s kind of hanging over the edges I want to add some spruce trapdoors under there to make it still feel like it’s fully surrounded but the granite stands out a lot more which I thought was really cool that little chimney pattern that we’re using there with those Campfire blocks I didn’t come up with that design myself I think I got that one from pearlescent moon over on the legacy SMP server or might have been Gemini take one of the two of them I picked that thing up from but just having the two right next to each other With the campfire or the trap doors all around it works really really well thought it was a really cool design so I want to give him a quick shout out for that one both of them they’re both amazing builders go check him out but coming back here we just have a third of That same exact tower design that we had I was think about doing something more unique with it but I felt like that would just be too busy for the build so I decided to just bring that same one back here and put it in place and then Focus on our more grand structure which would probably be the gathering hall where everybody would be when they’re trying to play and think making sure they’re defending everything sorry my voice is a little weird today unfortunately I think I got a little bit of gunk coming back to it but this build Here is just a little bit taller than the other structure that we had so far the other building structure and I just want to give it that same type of atmosphere making sure it fits in here very very well with everything else that we have going on it’s looking pretty Good though I like this one a lot as far as like the structure of it I said to line the inside of it using just spruce logs because that makes a cool darker color on the inside of it and then that actually makes it feel a lot taller Then bring in those chimney bits there as well because I felt like it looked really cool just having some smoke coming out of the top adding that little bit of movement and life to your build just using those that smoke bit that we can see there just makes the build so Much better in my opinion there’s just so many amazing things that we can do now in Minecraft because of the campfire block just giving our builds so much more life whereas before you could only really add animals and villagers or pistons moving things which could be loud and obnoxious and even that itself It’s pretty restrictive because you have to use redstone to make it happen but these are just a very simple one block way of making your build look a lot more alive coming in here for the last few bits of details that we are gonna be doing in today’s time-lapse I wanted to Throw a little bit of a sheep pen there and the back just so they can have something going on in here I was thinking like a pigsty would be cool but the Sheep was already in here so it worked out pretty well then breaking up that just plain grain Plain Jane Flooring that we had with all the coarse dirt and spruce slaps everything I want to bring a little bit of storage area backed by some cobblestone etc to kind of help it feel more fortified like they purposely pulled the land back to use it as an area to lay out their goods I Thought that was kind of a cool add and just having that little touch of the grey cobblestone and there really helped on this one but coming out here I figured we what’s what’s afoot build up it’s not completely surrounded by fields so adding in a bunch of carrot fields Around here and using some jungle leaves to help just add more vibrance to this area using that bright leaf color I feel like did a really really good job of bringing this entire build together but that’s pretty much the entire time lapse for today’s video let’s jump in There and take a look at this build in person because it turned out really really cool from the player scale and there we have it folks I hope you all enjoyed the time-lapse building up this here wooden castle I had a lot of fun with this one the challenge I’m only Really using spruce and oak was actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be I would thought it would be very very limiting for a while let’s just do a whole little trick right here this is how we know I did that wrong and uh That’s not gonna work at all uh maybe we can do there we go that’s the magic trick inside of our castle now very secure front entrance but I had so much fun taking a look at this place I didn’t have time unfortunately today to get any Of the interior work done and it’s gotta just open training grounds inside of here for now but I thought it was a really cool castle design we got some sheep I don’t know if he’s gonna escape or not but I thought it was really fun coming in here taking on that challenge Of only using those certain warmer color wooden blocks and then bring in some granite as well to kind of help complement those ones and just bring this whole style here together let me know what other type of build challenges and things you all would want to be Seeing here in the future only using certain type of block pallets and or things like that I honestly gotta say I’ve been very very inspired to try like a futuristic build or like a cyberpunk II build because of everything going on with the legacy server I’ve been really wanting to like Test the waters with that before committing to any of it in survival so let me know what y’all think on that one I think that’s gonna have to do it for me here today in this here episode so thank you all so very much for watching Please be sure to hit that like button down below if you did enjoy subscribe if you’re
