fWhip – Let’s Build a Castle #1 FANTASY CASTLE PLANNING : MINECRAFT 1.13.2 Survival Let’s Play 157

Hey everybody and welcome back to Minecraft today we are starting a brand new little series here inside of our building with web world we are going to be working on building up the wizard castle over there so this will be episode number one we’re gonna be working on planning out the new brand

New castle build today hopefully gonna make something just as awesome as what we made for Castle bleak Rock almost a year ago now I figured it’s finally time that we go ahead and start a brand new castle project in our Minecraft world so if you guys are super hype for that one

Will I eat some salmon here leave me down with something in the comments below just hype hype New Castle hype New Castle I don’t even know how to speak today anyways last episode we came throughout here and built up this little stables area for some horses and just

Added this general area in here for the horses to run around do their own thing and they got a nice little gate right there that they can’t get out of but we can slip in and out pretty easily so coming on over here this is our farming

Area for everybody who has not seen this guy before we got a big ol farming area out here but what we’re gonna be working on is the other side of the castle gates right here we’re gonna be working on planning up that big old castle I do

Have a question for you guys today however is that we are starting eight wizard castle so this is gonna be a big ol fantasy castle and I want to know down in the description what you guys want to be seeing as parts of this castle what types of rooms should we

Include what types of stuff should we include all over the place and what types of things should we be adding into this guy so to start out we are actually gonna fill our inventory here with a bunch of stone and a bunch of cobblestone and we’re gonna be using

This guy to plan out our big old castle over here today I’m super excited for this one the castle is gonna be up on the top of this guy somebody in a few episodes ago was telling me about how we could use the end crystals as a cool bit

Of design stuff right there and that was a block that I didn’t even think about it first so if you guys have ideas along those lines be sure to let me know also a very very important one what colors should be we’d be using for our wizard

Castle like a mages guild type thing I’m kind of leaning towards some blues and purples and things like that but we already have like blue and cyan as far as the city colors themselves go so I don’t know how crazy we really want to get with that stuff I’m super excited about this

I hope you guys are too I’ll tell you what let me go ahead and get a few things together all right I figured send this right here is kind of a potential roadway that we have right now I wanted to go ahead and start by expanding upon

This guy so I’m thinking we want to go ahead and probably just bring like a bridge or something over this guy will obviously make it a little bit more interesting than this so we can have that kind of coming down to up here after this however I wanted to go ahead

And more or less have this roadway coming over on this side I have a general idea in mind of what I want to be seeing this thing doing then this right here is kind of where we’re going to be starting the castle it’s gonna be coming out basically all the way out to

That corner right there and then all the way coming out here connecting up with the wall making sure that this whole area of the city is fortified that nobody is able to jump in throughout like the corners of the walls jump in through any of these areas we got to

Make sure that this castle part of our town is actually fully blocking everything so that being said I figured this was kind of a wizard castle so it’d be more of a grand entrance here so I wanted to go ahead and almost have it split off into two directions right here

Kind of having it come out something like this will work on more smoothing out the slope of itself right here very very shortly I want to go ahead and kind of work on a little bit right here just making sure that we can get a decent idea of what this thing’s gonna be

Looking like and we’ll get the general layout and slope and shape of this guy in here pretty soon but basically I wanted to go ahead and have this roadway split off from like right here kind of creating these two little areas that you can walk up kind of like some spiral

Steps kind of going up that way and that way and then it’s gonna come up here to the front where we’re gonna go ahead and bring in our stone basically right throughout here and it’s gonna come straight across this guy right through it this way let’s see here where do we

Start this one starts at that point so I would start right here and we can go ahead for now we’re just going to go ahead and start bringing these things in so a very very important thing that I always think of when I’m planning out my castles is using two thick walls for

Everything it really helps you out with making a lot more interesting detail bits later on in throughout your worlds that’s something that I will constantly say is use to thick walls I don’t like the fact that that is on an even basis there though so maybe what we need to do

Is actually go ahead and bring you out on that let’s see there’s one two three yeah so this should actually come out to being right here so good thing we counted that out but yeah we want to go ahead and really work on planning these things out

Right here this is gonna be kind of our general front entrance here let me go into sleep real fast I’ll be right back okay without doing too much in the way of terraforming for this guy until we get a better idea of what we want to be

Seeing here I wanted to go ahead and have our roadway actually come right back throughout here so it actually comes straight across this way right here and it’s gonna basically link up to being directly in line with that right there so we got this nice little roadway

Right coming through out here we got a five wide area right down here if we go ahead and break this stuff out kind of bringing it back to where it was previously then jump and back up here to the top this is gonna look super weird

For you guys at the front so anyways though right here comes into this road is basically gonna be right along this point this is our center point right here so basically right like this we got that I want to go ahead and create our gateway right back in here but I want to

Give ourselves a little bit more space so everything and there’s one block two blocks three blocks four blocks five blocks and then we can kind of have from these sides so we got this a little bit of a space right here that leads us to

Five right there I want to go ahead and basically have our gateway kind of coming in right through out here I’m thinking we might want to actually make this a little bit wider than the actual things itself over there so we can go ahead and actually have our gateway

Being kinda at seven wide here I think seven wide might be a good way to go makes it a little bit more interesting than what it would be previously and we can go ahead and basically just bring these guys all the way back right along here so that’s gonna be our gateway we

Can go ahead and signify maybe like we’ll have one big old wooden gate right there and another big old wooden gate right in here so we can just make it super super interesting I love using the double layered gates as a way of just adding extra depth and detail to these

Builds I think it can really help bring a lot of interest out to them so after that though I wanted to come out and basically have our castle walls coming out at a pretty straight angle right here so we’ll count this one to number one to three after the wall bit right

There after that a bit and this will be five six seven eight nine I want to bring this out to being nine right here and then from this point we’re gonna go ahead and make one of our very first castles or not castles towers we’re gonna go ahead and make a

Tower right here so this guy’s gonna be coming out all the way throughout this way and he’s gonna be basically my idea is that I want to bring this out one two three and then we can come out to four and then probably five so we can go one

Two three four and five so that kind of comes out throughout right here this gives us a good amount of shape and space right in here so we’re going one two three four five six seven and then one two three four the idea is that all

Of these towers are actually going to be their own little wings to our big old castle I want to go ahead and have four different towers in this area get in this stuff all lined up so it looks a lot cleaner and a lot better in here and

We can have one of the each of the towers be kind of a symbol for every single one of the districts that we want to go ahead and create or not districts but like magic school so maybe we have a fire tower we have a lightning tower

Electricity Tower then we have a water one and maybe we have like life magic or something like that so like fire life or water and then like electricity or something I don’t really know you guys love to let me know down in the comments what you want to be seeing as far as

That stuff goes however so I want to go to get this tower on right here let’s see that’s one two three four and that’s out to five so that’s actually not quite centered I’ll go I’ll tell you guys what let me go to get this one finish up I’ll

Get the same tower over on that side I’ll meet up with you guys once we’re doing this area alright everybody welcome on back so things are looking a little bit different I decided to go and clean this up because I felt like my idea in the last clip wasn’t too great

So we went ahead and created the rough outline of what I want this area to look like so we come up into this area you got that big front area up there I want to actually round this guy out but for now we’re gonna leave it as a box

Because this is planning then we can do like a pillar and a pillar on top of those guys then we have these spiral staircase type things or curved staircases they’re coming up here to the front and then in this area we’re actually going to go ahead and have this

Point come up to the top and then this is how you get into our main place both that side and that side will have identical pillars and towers on them and then in here is where things are gonna get interesting I know not interesting interesting no I’m just kidding

Uh so what I want to do in here though is if you guys are familiar with Skyrim Skyrim is something that I’ve been not playing recently but always I’ve loved the college of winter what winter hold winter hold Winterfell winter hold it’s in the northeast corner of Skyrim I

Don’t know somebody can go look at pictures of it but basically you come into that majors guild and then you come into this front area you’re instantly like in this little covered round circular space and then right in front you is this big central garden area

That’s very circular and it has a well in the middle of it that kind of drops down to right here maybe something like that and then from there it just goes down and it looks like big magic chamber down below and I kind of want to redo

And re replicate that in a Minecraft style and doing our own style because you know would be kind of fun so that being said I did want to go ahead and come in here we’re gonna have these walls coming all the way throughout this way and I want to go

Ahead and have continuing so we have that seven wide area here I want to make these five wide pathways so they’re basically going to go right there and then we can come on this side as well and do Bam Bam and that’ll bring us out

To five right there and I want to go ahead and kind of work on creating this area kind of rounded out I was thinking we can do two wide pillars that’s not so something like this almost for where we’re gonna have these pillar blocks

Coming up to the top I want to go ahead and have a little bit like a thicker pillar base on here for the areas that are going to be kind of grown up out of these places so maybe we go ahead and that is again it’s not stone may we go

Ahead and do something like this bringing out our pillars right here I don’t really have an idea for what I want to be doing as far as the circular shape and the size and scale of this one quite yet but I was thinking I wanted to

Go ahead and have at least come over to this area because this is gonna be our central courtyard from here so I think what I’m gonna do right now is I’m gonna go ahead and get my Minecraft protractor out a lot out a circle chart of where we

Want to be taking it and I’ll be back with you guys as quickly as I can all right everybody welcome on back so I’ve been doing a little bit of a landscaping job in here to to make it just easier for you guys to read and kind of focus

On what’s going on in here so I went ahead and got our inner circle set up right here ready to go we have some slabs kind of stepping down into a grassy area then here’s like our center center point that we’ll be doing something with later on a few episodes

Down the road out here though is kind of what the pathway is gonna be looking like I basically counted out five two there and then I took this corner bit and counted out four and then did one on the fifth block and then we have these

Five wide gaps in four wide gifts one two three four that should be five did I do that wrong no that’s four okay that’s fine I don’t really know guys that’s okay we’ll be fine no you know maybe I’ll read I’ll recheck the math here in a little bit but I

Think I was supposed to go here and push it out another one I totally was I totally totally was I was supposed to go out to this point and push it out to there okay that’s totally fine though I can switch that in my own time I’ll

Switch that without you guys on cam here just soda I don’t have to bug you yell for too long and then what I wanted to focus on with you all here next is I wanted to come out in two actually I’m gonna go sleep real fast okay so what I

Wanted to work on next was actually coming out here and working on these points so what we’re gonna do here is count one two and then three and that’ll get us to right at this point this is where those corners of those towers are and we want to do these on every single

Side here so that we can have all four different towers and the four different types that we’re going to be going with so basically I need to go ahead and come in here now and create these towers so that they’re going all the way around the outside again doing 11 by 11 I

Believe it is on these towers somebody can correct me if I’m wrong on those measurements but we’ll take this guy bring it all the way around like this do you know it over here and then let me go ahead and get that one up on that so I

Put what I want to do on here is this back end here I want to make like an audience chamber some sort of audience chamber Hall area for like the elders and maybe we’ll have some Grand Wizard and then a representative for each one of the towers will be in this area here

So that they can all do their own thing then over on this side I want to have a feast hall so that everybody inside the mage castle can eat together do all their stuff together and then we got to figure out of course about how we’re

Connecting that wall up to that guy over there and then I was potentially think about extending us out going out this way and having some spiral Rock way up to the top there and maybe we can have some shrine or wizard tower on top of the mountain up there I don’t know crazy

Ideas going through my head so let me get that stuff in here guys I’ll be back with ya here we are flying back into the world and into the castle area and I think it’s looking pretty great so far I will say that I do want to add a little

Bit more variation to the towers so that they’re not all square shapes we might turn some into like a little bit elongated maybe we’ll turn the two on that side out into more of a circular shape one but I think overall this is a good starting point for us here that

Being said I did go ahead and make a few more little changes out here so we have this inner ring area right there and then I did want to go ahead and bring this side out a little bit more so it didn’t look like these towers were so so

So stranded out here so I thought we could go ahead and bring out another thicker part right out through here and that could actually turn into some really cool interesting like big large windows looking out towards the water maybe we could have like a study room or something along here outside that little

Strip of the inner walkway or maybe we just make it a large area I don’t know we’ll have to play it by ear and see how that stuff all goes because I’m thinking these walkways here definitely going to be covered and then we might have like a

Little bit of a roof coming back then like halfway up like maybe at this point on the walkway we’ll start like a building going up out of the sides because we do want to go ahead and get a lot of interesting height and shape to all this guy today we’re mostly focusing

On finding out where we want to put these smaller areas and where we want to put more of the detailed bits and how we can make this stuff more interesting just in general and kind of focusing on the ground shape of it what it looks like when you’re looking straight down

From the top as far as the scale of the project that we’re going to be working on and then I do want to come back in here later on and work on kind of like the general height schemes and things like that of what everything there is

Gonna be looking like that being said though I don’t really have a full full picture in mind yet quite of what I want this stuff to be looking like from the whole picture I’m trying to figure out how I can go ahead and get out here I

Guess what I did want to do though is go ahead and bring this back just a little bit more here and create basically a straight line going let’s let’s give ourselves three blocks so we can create a straight line going all the way back here obviously this is just a blueprint

Guys so if you’re working with your own castle blueprints just pick points go with it figure out the math of the cool like shapes behind all of it later on just kind of get some rough rough ideas in there of what you want it to be looking like you can always come

Back in later and edit up like heck we’re only doing a little bit of stone here place down yeah we are making the too thick walls so we got that set up for us so that we kind of know what to account for when we’re really planning out the interior shapes of everything

But overall this is kind of basically what I wanted to be doing with it now out on this guy right here I wanted to go ahead and bring ourselves again we’re gonna do that a little bit three block gap right there and I want to bring this out to being five so I

Believe that’ll be five right here so one two three four five that’s because I want to be able to put some large windows on this guy and then we’re gonna basically come back out to this point and we’re gonna bring this guy out here another three blocks so that’s looking

Pretty good right there and then this basically is going to turn into a giant giant audience chamber with some rows on both sides for where I like the Wizards can sit down and watch and maybe we’ll have some rooms on the side behind those and then from there we’re gonna have

Like the grand chairs and things like that in the center that’s the general idea at least we don’t know if we’re actually gonna finish this into your as as I normally never really do them but that’s okay we can have the plans in mind right guys all of them all about

The planning but we want to come in here and basically do something more like this I’m actually thinking right now that might be a little short so I’m thinking we might want to go ahead and have two three long ones and then we can have the two long one like do two two

Long ones and then we start the one and then we bring that two two two and then do another two and then take that around I’ll tell you guys what that’s the general idea I basically want to make a circular shape around here I’ll do the

Math by myself so let me go and get this stuff in here ready to go and I’ll be back to you guys alright everybody welcome on back so we have this massive build out here ready to go this thing is probably a lot lot larger than we

Actually need it to be but I’m thinking kind of in my brain right now I’m playing with the idea of kind of having this weird like rampart area coming out to here and then we’re actually going to go ahead and have this come in like say

One two three four or maybe three blocks of walking space so three blocks kind of go all the way around this guy and then we’ll actually go ahead and have like an inner ring right in here kind of doing that whole work or that whole thing throughout I think

That’d be a good way of kind of shrinking this down a little bit having a lower part so it’s still kind of got that strong strong base to it but we can add a little bit more scale to it I did go ahead cuz I didn’t want to just bring

A flat flat lines right here I actually want to go ahead and add like a magical chamber right in here so we can have another little circular ish Tower coming out in this area kind of going up so this area has a little bit of height on

The end of it so those four towers they’re obviously probably going to be the taller ones then that can be like maybe like the grand Wizards study or something like that he’s got his own personal area that’s not shared for a bunch of people or something like that

I’m thinking that’ll be probably a good way to do it for these guys so that we can get a lot of good space in here however I was listening to Duke on red ones videos a little while ago one of his where he was talking about how circular towers were actually built

Because he could utilize the interior space the most efficiently so we might want to go ahead and turn in all of these towers into more of a circular one or at least circular ish so we can have some sort of better area to work with as

Far as the towers go also I swear it was not nighttime when I was thinking about recording and I’ve just been afk for a few minutes and I forgot to pause it I meant to bring you guys back when it was sunny and nice and easy to see

Everything let me go in and sleep real quick and then we can go ahead and talk about what we’re gonna do for the little wall bit over here alright I lied before we get to that wall bit I actually want to talk to you guys a little bit about

What we’re going to be doing on this one so this end over here I wanted to go ahead and basically have it coming out right at this point so we’re gonna have three blocks there on the end we’re gonna go ahead and bring this guy out

Probably one two three four we can just go ahead and get rid of these for now and I want to bring it out pretty far so we’re gonna probably go ahead and clear out to this point right now get ourselves a little bit more space in

Here and this will bring us out so we’re at what four before so we can go one two three four five six seven eight nine I think nine I’ll be a good way so we can have a seven wide area right throughout here for some tables and then beyond it

So this is going to be the feast hall that you can include in there from the tables idea so I wanted to go ahead and start off by making just a giant box right in here so basically this is just gonna be a big old rectangle and the

Same way that we did that little bit of a bump right out there to kind of round that area off I want to go ahead and introduce that same idea along the edge of this one also this stuff won’t be floating we are going to terraform the whole area

Outside in-between it but basically I need to go ahead and get a big old box on this guy but while I’m doing that before I do that at least I want to show you guys what I’m thinking about for the wall here so we have that wall right there

And I want to basically go ahead and bring him directly across them here the one thing I do remember from building these is we want to count it by threes so I was thinking we basically just can go at an angle of three bring them this

Guy literally all the way over to here until he meets up with this tower set oh it’s one off oh no oh well that’s totally fine so what do we want to do how many blocks does this count in so we have that corner bit and then it pushes

In one more so I think I might have started this right yeah so we actually want to start from right there we are perfect ooh no we’re not sorry we already did that but I need to go ahead and move this guy back one going all the

Way throughout here just kind of being able to do this we’re gonna do the same exact wall or maybe a version of the wall maybe we mix it up just a little bit for this so it’s a little bit easier for us to kind of tell that this is more

Part of the castle and maybe the majors guard this little section of it maybe that’s what they’re responsible for now in the city is this little area right here but beyond that we want to go ahead and basically you just skip over one block right there and we want to have a

Little one wide walkway cone well all the way throughout the middle of this one and then that should be able to bring us in – right about here and that’ll be pretty much good for where this wall walkway is gonna be raining here that leaves us open with this spot

Down here which I actually want to come in later and do some housing for maybe like the adepts the people who are trying to get into the mage college or the mage castle maybe to be initiated into the ranks here maybe we have some like lower quality housing right on in

Front of where those people can stay so let me go ahead and do a little bit more work on here get in this big box and get in that little loop out there done and I’ll be back to you guys so we can take a look at this I’m thinking we’ll come

Back and spectator mode so you can see the full top view down alright everybody welcome on back so we are currently in spectator mode flying up above the top of this guy and as you can see quite a few things have been changed so previously we had all four towers

Looking basically like that one with big square actually like that one that’s a better way to look at it I have since turned this one into a big circular tower figure that would help out a lot more just adding some variety in here as I was talking about earlier in this I

Wanted to get more variety into this and so what happened with all these major changes was I actually went away for Thanksgiving went over to my mom’s place a few hours away so we were there just come chill and hanging out and I ended up taking a screenshot of this guy over

With me so I’ll go ahead and paste that on the screen here now so you guys can take a look at that and then I went ahead and drew over the top of it in Photoshop and just kind of created a new plan for what I had still keeping with

Ideas of that old one but just making it a lot more interesting so we came up with this guy right here is gonna be a larger circular Tower and it’s going to have actually I wanted to go ahead and throw in a little smaller circle Tower

Right here to kind of build off of it off of the side so I’m gonna add that guy in here as well over here however instead of having a square tower I turned it into a rectangle made it a little bit longer just made it more interesting and I

Think this would be a shorter kind of fatter Tower I’m really excited for that one which then in turn we cut off a little bit of the feast hall made this a little bit less sticking out back here I went ahead and brought this in as an

Angled wall so it’s not just that harsh corner that harsh flat flat corner right there again this guy right here however is gonna be a square tower then when we get up to the top we’re gonna have four little turrets on all the corners jutting out kind of to that size right there

This guy here in the back I went ahead and got this walkway in like we talked about previously then beyond this I want to go ahead and build up in this area right here where we’re at basically from here over to about like there I want to

Bring like a straight big a long box line across there and then on top of this we’re gonna have this cool like bridge way coming out to this building right here which is going to be another tower I think that’d be a cool cool way of making this more interesting the

Plants have changed quite a bit as you guys can see this guy is gonna stay as the same square tower with a little circular one built off to the side I figured just way different ways of adding in shapes together making things more interesting would be kind of the

Way to do this correctly without really kind of messing up too much of this stuff we have here this part right here gets a little bit interesting because I wanted to have this curved flat or this curved face or your this curved flat face that doesn’t really make sense so

We got this curve going along here that’s our first floor this rectangle you can see right here at the one thick walls is actually going to be raised up on to the second floor so this guy’s going to come back then we’ll have that thing going up and then this one

Right here is going to be on that first floor kind of like a shop or something like that maybe like the library area which will be connected up to this tower and then we got a little room right in there maybe or we just leave that as some walls

We got room for another shop over here and then on top of this guy as well I wanted to go ahead and add a second story onto the top of it and make it look like this kind of a general living area as well maybe we have like two

Different areas with like a garden in the middle on the roof a few more things I want to try and add in here some sort of botanical garden area maybe like a greenhouse or something so maybe the life wizards or whatever can do their research on their plants

Down there maybe the initiates like the people who are training here to be part of this wizard Academy can go down there and take classes in there I don’t know it’s just more thoughts more things going through my brain here also very much thinking that these areas out here

Need to just turn into more farmland I’m almost thinking about like smoothing off this this hill here making it more of like a cliff overlooking the water and bring in the fields all the way up to the cliff face but I also do like the trees along there so I don’t know maybe

We just dot in some more trees make a custom for us a little strip right along there then bring in some more fields down through that area but yeah that is pretty much the whole plan of what I want to be doing in this guy let me go

Ahead and get that tower in place there let me go and get a few more little details add it in around here and I’ll be back you guys we can go ahead and grab a comment or question of the day and finish this episode off because I

Species living in other of the world how about a circus tent from elves or orcs or something on the outskirts of the city it could be cool to see some travelers from faraway places especially in a port city like this so I think that is a freaking

Awesome idea I love the idea of adding in a like Fairgrounds area or just something along the lines of where we can make this a lot more interesting however though outside the front of our city right here though things are a little packed things are a little too

Busy out here as you guys can see we probably need to go ahead and redesign the gate anyways but like we went ahead and added in this cart right here and we added in the in right there so I don’t think we’ll be able to do on this

Entrance here but I love that idea and it was something I hadn’t even come close to thinking of so I’m very very happy that something that so silky I’m sorry I’m gonna keep screwing that up thank you so much for sharing that idea with me I think that is freaking

Awesome and I would love to do that down the road definitely wrote that down in my idea book for projects to do in this world thank you so much for that so anyways this build right here before we finish this off I did go ahead and add

The tower in their next episode what I’m hoping that we will be able to accomplish is more of getting the wireframe in for this build so today was really about how to plan the base of a castle area out and next episode is very

Much going to be how to plan out how to like build the scaffolding and the wire frame for what your castle is going to be looking like because there’s a lot of ways that you can easily mess one up for example if you make everything just

Super super flat and like all the same height I sorry if that’s lying right there your castles gonna look really really bland and boring so we want to go ahead and have a lot of height variation between even these four towers as well as like this guy will be a little bit

Lower than this guy in the back so that people here can view out over the water we’re gonna have to have a lot of variation and things like that and this one as well so I really hope you guys have enjoyed this episode today of our brand new little series that we’re
