Welcome to another gauging gadgets chromebook tutorial video in this video i’m going to show you how to download and install minecraft on your chromebook so if you’re trying to figure out how to play minecraft on your chromebook the end of this tutorial you’ll be able To do that so to get started the first thing we’ll be doing is opening up the settings on our chromebook and we do that by simply going down to the clock down here clicking it and then selecting the gear for the settings so once we’re in the settings we need to Enable linux now they change the menus a lot in the settings what i recommend doing is going up to the top search bar and just searching linux so l i n ux and then it should come up linux development environment so once you find that go ahead and Select turn on when you see this go ahead and select next and then select install so while this is setting up linux let’s go back to our browser on our chromebook and we need to go to the minecraft website and i’ll have a link in the description if you’d like to click that But once you get here go down we need to select debian right here so go ahead and download minecraft.deb save that to your chromebook by now the linux should be done installing on your chromebooks you can go ahead and close the settings now that we’ve downloaded the file from The minecraft website we want to go ahead and find that in our file explorer it should be under the downloads folder over here in my files and we just want to go ahead and grab that file and drag it into the linux files so now when you go to linux files you Should see the minecraft.deb file in there once we move the file into the linux folder we need to open up the terminal when linux was done installing it should have opened up but if it did not go down and select the little dot down here for the launcher And then just search terminal and it should come up right there so you can open it right there with the terminal open we need to type three different commands and you can check the description i’ll have those down there for you so you can easily copy and paste them but the first is Just going to be sudo space apt space update so we’re just going to make sure that we have the latest version of linux installed on our chromebook it’s going to update it the next command is going to be pseudo space dp kg space hyphen i space the name of the File that we downloaded from minecraft and this includes any capitalization anything like that so capital m-i-n-e-c-r-a-f-t period e b all right so it should look like that and what that’s going to do is just extract that file so hit enter and then finally the last command we Need to type is going to be sudo space apt space hyphen f space install so now we’re installing minecraft so hit enter and right here it’s asking are we okay with minecraft using megabytes of our disk space go ahead and select y for yes and then enter So now it’s going to install it once it says done down here minecraft has now been installed in your chromebook and we can find it by going down to the launcher in the bottom left and then as you can see we have minecraft launcher if you don’t find it There you can also just search minecraft and it should come up and when we open that up it might take a little bit longer the first time with it launching it as you can see it’s downloading any files that need to be updated and then as you can see here You can go ahead and start playing minecraft now while you’re playing minecraft i do recommend closing anything you have in the background such as browsers or anything that’s open just because that’ll allow minecraft to run better now if you’re looking to record your screen on your chromebook check the description i do have Tutorials covering how to do that but that’s how you install minecraft on a chromebook if you have any questions about this leave a comment below i’ll get back to you as soon as i can if you’d like to see more chromebook tutorial videos check the links in the description If this video helped you give it a thumbs up and please consider subscribing to my channel gauging gadgets for more gadget reviews and tech tutorials thank you so much for watching Video Information
