Hello everyone my name is gemini welcome back to another video today we are at my castle and kingdom named valor and i would like to show you how i build castle interiors so behind me is the castle that we are going to be decorating and i know that this is far From the best castle in minecraft but it has a wide open space so i think it’s a good spot for us to get some practice in let’s get to it i have night vision on right now and as we come inside the castle i mean it’s easy to see how this Is not very immersive through here we’ve got the entrance to that big open tower just a lot of unused blocked off space because of the commands that i used while building we’ve got windows that look kind of ugly from the inside and because they aren’t blocked off they Actually they kind of ruined the exterior a little bit because you could see the grass through there so the first step in tip i have for building interiors is to clean everything up and plan everything out this makes the later stages a lot more fun we’re gonna get Some flooring in here we’re gonna clean up all of this and just straighten out all of our walls in general so let’s get to it have you ever seen an uglier castle interior this is a mess but we’re only partway through our cleanup phase and planning phase and boy we Desperately need a plan oh my goodness so this is a stage where a lot of people get really discouraged and kind of just give up on the interior and say ah not that important anyways whatever that is not what we are going to do i have put in the flooring and taken out That ugly grass that was in here i removed the extra wall and roofing that was around here marked in this because this is an entrance to a tower over here which speaking of we actually need to put in a doorway here eventually okay we will get To that that’s another thing to add to the list this area is going to be a stairwell so somewhere around here probably about here will start going up in sort of a spiral so i’ll kind of mark that in and that’ll go all the way up here because up here Is a very important room up here is going to be the king’s bedroom and i think i want to do some sort of maybe library off to the side of the tower i don’t know hopefully we’ll be able to figure something out in there this hallway is very narrow but we’ll have a Carpet going down here for the royal family to walk down and then come into the big epic throne room the ceiling will be fairly short we can’t shorten it as much as i would like to because we have these big tall windows looking out into the gardens so What we’ll have to do is add a windowsill to all of the windows all the way around to help with our cleaning up process i also decided that i wanted to put a wall across here this wall will have a doorway right about here just a simple doorway directly in line With our throne through here we can have some type of planning room or map room where wars are planned against the other kingdoms thankfully though we still have this one other big window to think about so wherever our spiral staircase comes out we will probably end up having another room So up here we’ll connect these this will be another floor right here and the wall will continue all the way up this means that this throne room will have the absolute highest ceiling going all the way up to the peak of our roof we’ll have to do a lot of detailing up There to make that work and also do a lot of cleaning up in this corner right here a simple fix for our doorway is just to reverse the depth that’s on the outside if we come through here i’ll show you what i mean so you see how i Have the stone pushed out around the door and it looks fantastic from out here but from inside much less so so we’re just going to reverse that and do the exact same thing on the inside that already makes things look so so much better we can apply the same concept that we Used on the door to the windows here simply just going to build up some blocks on each side and build some sort of nice windowsill on the interior i’m going with some much warmer colors whereas on the exterior i just went with cobble to match the rest of the walls Alright everyone so the clean up and plan out phase is completely over tip number two that i have for you guys is to frame and divide your castle or space into rooms so that is what i have done here we have the throne room with a little elevated platform for the throne And i’ve accented my wall with all of these pillars so because we had this big wall marked out all i’ve done is set all of it to andesite just like any other wall it’s all set to andesite with the second layer put in exactly how i said i would Right that’s in there but it looks like it belongs there and that’s because i’ve added these big pillars these help a lot structurally so if this was just a flat wall i mean how is that flat wall not falling over right so we kind of add these pillars in Between the window cells i think it gives it this much more epic feel we’ve also divided up our loft up here now the loft connects over to this tower we could put some different furniture in around here decorate with a few more pillars holding up the roof maybe some Beams going across like these ones right here i love these and although they do sort of block the view of that window they really don’t from down here especially as you’re walking up onto the throne so i think that is a great addition to any epic castle entrance way you’ll also Notice here that as i divided up the space i used two different blocks so it’s a double thick ceiling slash flooring so the ceiling down here can be this epic white which kind of drags your eye up and makes this hallway look so much more epic and much larger than it actually is Because in reality this is not a very wide hallway but it allows us to also still have this warm and cozy wooden floor up on the top here now as you’re dividing up your space i think it’s important to think of a purpose and function even if you’re Going for fantasy like we are here so i’m not going for the most realistic rooms in the world i’m just having some fun with it so we have an entrance way a throne room through here we’re going to have some sort of feast hall Down here i dug out a little bit of the basement and we’re going to put a kitchen area down here maybe some areas for the slaves who work here and then we have a winding staircase i’m not gonna walk all the way up here it’s A long walk it goes all the way up to the bedroom but it comes out right here in this room and you can see this is the main width of our tower here i’ve made a smaller little staircase going in the middle so this gives us all of this air room here So as we’re coming up around let’s see let’s see where we can come out see we can make little we can make little doorways like this coming out and then we can have a room here like a little study area or maybe another bedroom and then up here we’re going to have the Main epic king’s bedroom so that is our purpose and function of each room all decided okay so we’ve cleaned up our palace interior and planned everything out we then divided up our rooms based on their purpose and function what’s the next step well i think i could give you a hint I’ve had night vision on while building in this area and as you can see without it well maybe you can’t see actually it’s very dark although i will say this does look kind of epic with this lighting lighting is going to be a very important tool for us to use while building we’re Going to try to hide some lighting to accent certain areas of the build so that we can always see those clearly we can also use it to create different moods in different rooms having them brighter or darker depending on the feel that we would like to give let’s get started The first thing i’ve done in terms of lighting is lay down sea lanterns along the floor because this is our entrance way it’s going to be covered in carpet to give it that very royal feel that most palaces have so i’m going to just hide all of this Lighting here in this carpet i would like the flooring here to be a lot brighter so i’m not worried too much about the moodiness i think it adds to it being able to see the pillars clearly another great way to hide lighting in corners like this is to put pistons upside down This will allow us to only see the stone on top but they will allow the light of the sea lanterns to get through so from up here we can just see this lovely little stone border and it allows that wall to be very well lit up So now our flooring is pretty well lit up i’ve put a couple sealants under some cauldrons i’ve used pistons and carpets to cover things up but we still can’t see any of those wonderful details on our walls so i think it would be a lovely idea to Hide even more lighting up here and maybe get a few chandeliers hanging down into our tall hallways after all we have tons of space and i think that would definitely add to the look chandelier designs are always something that i struggle with so so much it’s hard to get a good one honestly Especially in a tight space like this i experimented a little bit and i decided that i liked this one so it’s simply just some slabs surrounding a sea lantern and then some more slabs or fall blocks off of this and then to look like candles i’m using End rods i like the end rods because they have that lovely little particle effect falling from them and there we have it a hallway with chandeliers to also assist in lighting up the ceiling i’ve hidden some sea lanterns up above these hoppers the methods that i’m using up on the top Of this framing up here are a little bit more obvious and i’m not quite as happy with them but i don’t think it’s going to be super noticeable from the bottom to have these trapdoors these trapdoors from 1.13 are definitely a blessing i’m also going to cover up the top of These sea lanterns with some carpet so now we’re able to see the top of those pillars a lot better the only thing left to light up is this middle archway right here i decided to use a night vision potion so i could better see the details that i Was doing i added some of these dark oak supports going along our archway i think this is lovely because it ties it in with the theme that we’ve got going over here and bring some of that dark oak higher up it also allows us to use these Trapdoors so now i’m going to hide some lighting in the corners of these arches and just add some trapdoors to cover those up yes that is definitely much better all of our lighting is officially in place and it is super moody in here i just Love it it is so fun to walk around i still have a couple places that are fairly dark like for example the kitchen but once we add in the rest of our details we can find more areas to light things up now speaking of detail it’s time to do That usually when i detail an interior i work on the ceiling and then the walls and then the floor so for the walls i’m first going to start with things that aren’t furniture things like this area right here where there are details so for example in my pillars i could do Some areas like this that have the chiseled stone brick i think this is a lovely little detail to add to all the pillars i’m also going to add some more interest to this wall here first i’m going to market it with faux blocks and then i’ll come back in With my stairs and slabs to mark in more details i just think this wall right now is a little bit plain and could easily be dressed up with a little bit of depth i think that looks much better already and adding these pillars into our walls allowed that to be a super easy Transition to make i would also like to add some handmade paintings to the wall so for example behind the throne here we can maybe create our own little painting frame it goes nice and tall okay we can go to about there and then come back down Once we’ve got the shape that we want i simply decorate it in a few slabs on the top and bottom and then on the inside i can use terracotta or concrete to decorate it i’m going to be going with a bright magenta in the center this will represent valor’s crystal and therefore Works in with the lore of my palace because my painting was fairly dark i ended up also adding a nice sea lantern up at the top as if it’s sort of a show lighting for this wall i think that’s definitely a lovely addition and now the space is Filled very well i think adding little details transitioning the ceiling to the wall and then to the floor definitely make a big difference to a build so i would like to go around the edges of here and just connect all of the pillars with some stairs yeah that definitely Improves the look now that we are getting a lot more happy with the wall details i’m going to move on to the floor where i’m going to be adjusting this carpet and adding some glazed terracotta along the edge of it it definitely looks much better with this lovely detailed border I’m definitely much happier with the look of our palace right now but there’s still something missing it needs furniture of course what castle would be complete without any furniture we need to deck out each room in furniture tables chairs a throne shelving whatever we can think of that a room Could possibly need we need to put there so this is where we need to start getting creative using our imagination figuring out what each room would need even if it’s fantasy it doesn’t have to be for realism i will say if you are interested in realism specifically i Have a video on realism on a castle from 1575 that i did for english heritage so i will link that right now up in the corner go click it in terms of the furniture that i’m going to use i’m going to just have a lot of fun figure Out what would work in my space but i’m not going to be doing anything super advanced so instead i’m going to link a couple tutorials on how to create furniture in minecraft done by other youtubers hopefully you guys will find these super useful if you aren’t very Good at coming up with your own furniture ideas so i’m going to get started on building my furniture for each room and i will bring you guys back when the castle is complete alright i’ve spent the last couple of hours having some fun placing some furniture in the various rooms Around my castle and i would now like to show you guys the final product so to start off we have our throne room i just did a very simple throne design it’s very very large but i mean nothing complicated is going on here just some Stairs to give it a little bit of shape and our painting in the background with the moonlight definitely makes that all come together down this hallway i kept everything fairly simple i just added some armor stands we’ve got our carpet and chandeliers coming and it definitely Gives that epic feeling that we want as we’re coming through here turning this way we’ve got our feasting area our large painting on the wall and all of these tables and chairs around with of course a place for the king to sit we also have some shelving on the walls A couple of minecraft paintings and some torches for lighting as we come down the stairs here we can see that the kitchen is now complete not only do we have a lovely fireplace but we have so much shelving and storage for any wine and ale that the kingdom could possibly need I’ve placed down a couple of barrels some anvils chests basically just normal kitchen stuff i like this design it’s very simple i think i could have done with maybe a couple more ovens places for the workers to prepare food but for the size of the room i Definitely like the way that it came together now we get to go up the stairs the first room we come to at the top of the staircase is the map room this is the one with that big window in it i’ve done a map of valor in the center and Look at how these dragons look on those maps yeah that came together super well i’ve done some chairs surrounding this table where maybe the higher up people of the kingdom could come together and plan out valor’s attack or defense i’ve also added a fireplace just to add some warmth to this room Because it seems very cold with the tall ceilings and large windows up the stairs a little further and we have our loft area that i talked about up here i did a lot of seating some bookshelves and i particularly love the trap doors on these chairs i think they give that nice Soft cushioning effect that i would want to sit on a chair with isn’t this just awesome i love doing little furniture designs i think they are so cute i did some shelving over here and this is also the room that has our entrance to the tower over there All right thank you guys so much for watching i had a lot of fun creating this castle interior as it’s not something i normally do on the inside of my belts i hope you guys also were able to take some inspiration from this and See how i get a build to go from no interior and grass floors and ugly walls to a full complete atmospheric interior thank you so much for watching i will see you in the next video bye-bye Video Information
