You know what back in my day water physics wasn’t so horrible to work with no seriously back in 1.3 and I’m talking beta 1.3 that was probably the last time I made an underwater house you were able to do so much more water wouldn’t flood in every time you made a structure you Could actually manipulate it so that it didn’t and that allowed me to make structures like this where you could submerge a build and see the water there I know that you could do this with barriers but to keep it in survival I’ve had to abandon this idea because in 1.9 1.10 all of the recent ones the new water physics is if you break a single block underwater Shh it all cascades in and there’s nothing you can do about it so when I build this underwater house it’s going to be completely submerged and I’m going for a more modern dome Subnautica kind of feel to it so let’s get into it so you’re going to need to find a pretty deep ocean once you’ve got that I’m afraid the next bit is going to be so painful we have to remove the water and if you don’t have well that it I feel so Sorry for you but this is the kind of project which really stands out so if you can be bothered to work away fill up the entire ocean with a load of blocks and then go ahead and remove them all then I have so much respect for you I am Going to cheat and use well Daleks I don’t have hours to show you how it’s done but essentially you just fill up the ocean with stone like this and then dig away at the middle I used sponge and I find sponge so useless idle ajumma lee Try to find a technique using sponge to do this but I could not find one this was the best way I could come up with if you guys know how to use sponge please one let me know and to use it yourself so once you have this area you’re going To need to make a circle on the floor this sort of size is good with a radius of eight once you’ve got that you need to then go ahead and build it upwards the style we’re going for is varied like so everything is circular by nature and I know people struggle with circles In Minecraft it’s just a well-known fact if you struggle what I recommend is going on paint and drawing a perfect circle and using one pixel as one block that way you know what it is and that’s of course if you don’t have access to world at it so once you’ve done this It’s time to start working on the dome this build is actually very simple it’s elegant and it looks quite modern well futuristic almost so what I’ve done is used iron block now I know people are going to say that’s an expensive book to use green well you can use whatever you Want it’s completely up to you these are stringent rules so what I’m doing now is making a quarter of the dome if you can get one quarter perfect you can easily replicate it either by eye or with worldedit way easier than trying to do the whole Dome at once but I must stress that your base circle must be symmetrical and perfect otherwise your dome is going to look opulent and funky and you want to know what’s funny I actually messed up here and you can see me like looking around like huh wait wait wait wait what Mmm trying to work it out and I worked out that I’d messed up the bottom a little bit and I didn’t make it tall enough so you’ve got to make sure that your dome is going to be perfect from the get-go because if you start replicating it when it’s not then you’re Going to run into problems later on so I actually have my quarter piece finished once you’ve done that you can then go ahead copy it and replicate over whether that’s by welded it copy-paste rotate 90 degrees every time or doing it by hand by yourself it really doesn’t matter and To be honest if you make a couple of mistakes here or there it’s not going to matter too much what’s important here is getting that overall shape you see how I’ve got those two lines of iron block those are the ones that really matter the most getting the overall dome shape Is essential if 1 or 2 blocks are out of place doesn’t matter because the water is going to masquerade that anyway once we’ve got that that’s pretty much the exterior done you can see there I added some cobblestone stairs and at a very quick entrance over the top You could either use stained clay or whatever block you’ve decided to use or you could change it for some glass it really doesn’t matter too much this is for inspiration mainly like all of my builds I don’t really expect you to do them block for block however there is Still the option to do that if you wish if you’ve got lots of space around your don’t go ahead and add some leaves because they imitate seaweed quite nicely and when you’re on the inside later it really does add a lot of atmosphere once you’ve done that you can Go ahead and remove all of your stone and fix the water and you can see the dome really clearly now in the replay mod there is a night vision effect but underneath it looks pretty awesome this is what I imagine when someone says underground base underground home it’s a Very subnautica kind of feel to it and to stop it flooding in your doorway simply add some fence gates there and you can walk through at your leisure now the interior is arguably more important than the exterior the exterior kind of says look at me I live underwater but The interior is what’s going to produce the atmosphere of this build and you’re going to need to light it up big-time it’s so dark down there and you can’t see that because of the replay mod so lighting up the floor with some sea lanterns and giving it a really nice Detailed pattern that matches the theme of the build again it’s circular by definition and it matches the square in the middle decorating it with some courts is a great way to match the theme of this build and then we can go ahead and just give some shape to our original Eight radius circle adding these blocks make it seem so much smoother and it connects the glass to the base layer and that’s really important that it looks like it’s structurally sound for decorating it is mainly just iron trapdoors around the outside and adding some leaves to try and give some Contrast of colors green and blue work really well together but adding these iron trapdoors is a great way unfortunately the replay mod is in 1.8 meaning that I don’t have as much flexibility with those things and I don’t have end rods I have to use sustained To decorate this but I will be showing you a full design build because this obviously just shows you the techniques behind this concept but in a minute I’m going to show you what a full one looks like so this is our final build it looks really nice and slick on the inside and You’ve got a lovely dome shape on the outside when you’re out of the water it looks really cool and stands out getting in and out of your house is obviously going to be a pain but let’s take a look at what you can do if you expand the Idea further with one main dome in the middle and then some smaller ones attached to the outside you can start making a big underwater base now there is a difference when you turn on night vision you can actually see all of the blocks properly but when you have no Potion effect whatsoever it does still look noticeable and it still looks attractive in fact it looks more atmospheric but you can see it properly with night vision let’s take a look what’s inside and I have to say a big thank you to the team the crew for Making this I came up with the base design I said hey guys make a big base using this idea and this is what they came up with it’s really cool looking and of course outside of the replay mod you can use so much more stuff like end Rods you can have more flexibility with the trapdoors and you can make of course more walkways if you wanted to expand this idea I’m not sure on the interior and this one guys I’m not quite sure it looks like a mess you need to tidy up But the idea is there you can have these smaller domes and these really cool walkways all with a glass top I think that’s the biggest thing about this build having as much glass on the top with that solid base is what produces a really nice effect especially if you Have some leaves outside the mimic seaweed because you produce so much more atmosphere from it and ultimately I think this build is a very simple thing up we got a leak we have a lot of water in here okay we’ll leave that one for now thanks crew you’ve flooded the Basement as I was saying it’s ultimately a very simple bill to do it took me half to make without welded it you’re probably looking at a few hours of project but the actual structure is more about how well you can make a circle in Minecraft and that could possibly be a Video in itself I am able to do them by eye now but I also just use welded it to save time and that is the underwater base using night vision really does change your perspective on the build but ultimately I think it has an amazing aesthetic and it’s definitely a unique House that doesn’t impact the world too much anyway guys that’s it thank you very much for watching I hope to see lots of tweets from you guys that have made ocean bases yourself if you remember back at the beginning of the video I showed you this submerged house I actually tried to make that work but it just it just didn’t you could use barriers but ultimately people don’t always have access to them so I decided against it but that place was called Atlantis it was amazing and guys we’re almost a million subscribers can you believe it when I started YouTube some friends told me you’re gonna hit a million one day and I was like yeah well whatever because I honestly didn’t believe it and here we are so I need to say a big thank you to everyone I don’t know whether it’s because people share it or just because People like to build I don’t know I where all these people coming from and they’re really that many people that need to learn how to build it’s nuts anyway I’m truly humbled we will hopefully hit a million soon and I have something very special planned for it Thank you very much for watching thank you very much for your support goodbye Video Information
