Hello my name is green and we’re back with the third and final episode of let’s make a Minecraft castle so as you might remember we finished up to this point where we had just started to get the main part of the castle built but we hadn’t quite finished so I finished it All today and I’ve recorded it all and we’re back here to finish it off so unfortunately there’s a lot of the same on this episode there is quite a lot of myself going through the same process just throughout the build because we’ve got the shape down so nicely in the First two episodes honestly there’s are just going to be a lot of detailing here so as you can see I’m just doing that Archway that we discussed in the previous episodes and just for this part really I’m going to be setting down the bass theme and style which is that stone Framework with the stone brick on the inside now there is going to be variations but for the most part I’m going to be trying to to drill home how to detail large expanses of walls because that’s what you’re going to come across and one way is to tackle it with A few arches I’ve just sort of edged in a box in the middle of my castle it does make it look a bit more churchy and I have gone for a more Gothic style Castle so that’s completely acceptable and you may notice that I am constantly adding The very iconic part of my style which is the stone right ridges on the sides now I need to do that absolutely everywhere for the sake of consistency however if you find that it doesn’t quite match up at one part of the build to the other as long as the parts Adjacent to it are okay that’s not a problem you can have those small inconsistencies so now I’m adding a few slopes in the roof to try and add a bit of variation it’s all great having it with some towers and some Square tops but I thought I’d rather have a bit of Variation and on a build like this where everything’s really gray it can be very easy to draw the eye into these special spots like a clock when you add some very simple color like the wood and the clock face itself not only that but the shape is such a good variant that it Just complements the entire build however you do need to be careful that you don’t make it too wacky or overdo it it might distract from the castle itself and you’ll notice that throughout the build not only am I doing these iconic ridges on the sides but I’m also adding The polished adensi with the very easy to do detailing of the ridges on the top as well and I use just a different variant of a gray block just to add that extra texture to it if it was Stone it might look like it Blended too much and Made it too simple now moving swiftly on I’m detailing like crazy here and what I want to point out is really important by the way is how I’m edging into the building itself I’m adding like three blocks of depth because when you’ve got a big castle and big expanses of flat Wall when you’re detailing you have to add depth even when it’s just a flat wall you can do this in many ways and I’m generally using the same technique throughout the build and over the next 10 minutes you’ll see how these have ingrained into my mind and how they just Become second nature on what fits where so it’s completely up to you how you detail your walls however being consistent and not only being consistent but making it have a good element of depth is very very important otherwise you’re going to end up with just a very Big box so I’m just using a bit of half slab and some Cobblestone wool and I found it to be very effective however you might find that you’ve got something else that fits yours and I’m only going for a Gothic style which is actually kind of simple to do in terms of Detailing because it’s a lot of straight lines and crosses and it looks very French so so I just have to Edge it up all the way through as long as there’s a one block Center I can continue to do this style really really easily and you’ll see that I just continue doing Different variants and here and there I’ll change the shape just to add a little bit of differentiation in the structure if I found it to be too Square so again this is just another variant of my detailing that I’ve been using it using exactly the same blocks but behind It I have been adding a slight bit of color this is Fort green and red is my color so I have been adding some red there as well I also did this video in several different segments of building because it took me hours and hours and Hours to make this as you can probably imagine so what I’m really trying to drill home in this episode isn’t really how to detail I mean you can still copy these designs if you’ve never seen them before I personally hadn’t used these before and I kind of made them up on the Spot but I found that they worked so well that I would probably use them again in the future but again this is only for this style however what I am trying to get across to you is how you have to be consistent with your detailing use elements of Depth and try and Edge your details back as far as you can without it looking a bit too odd another thing to mention is how you can add small bits of contrast if you’re making a castle like I am with a lot of gray blocks adding that color is going To be very very important however you don’t want to overdo it because a castle with a lot of color can look kind of weird so you’ll see that I’ve added these log roofs that make it look a little bit more interesting so again I’m going back round the castle Adding all of the base style first before I detail it now what you could do if you’re building yours is just completely finish all of the base style which I didn’t do I sort of did the bass style and then added details and then went over to another part of the build So it gets a little bit confusing and also don’t forget to add your logo this is Fort green so gotta add a massive G in there and yes so you have to go and detail accordingly you could just put the whole base style everywhere and then detail the whole thing afterwards it’s Completely up to you how you do it I’m a very finicky Builder as you probably realized by now so I go all over the place and it becomes kind of difficult for you I can imagine so it’s very important that you are consistent as I keep going on about and you can tell That I’m doing just a lot of the same but this one’s a little bit different as it is the entrance and you want to make it stand out a little bit more so again that contrast of colors nice and I do want want to add a little bit of Greenery at the front because I do want this to seem a little bit more Imperial a bit more important so just a few flower pots does the trick and you can see how that little bit of red just makes it so much nicer so the gray can Be improved a lot of people when they see a castle they just say too gray but you can fix that really easily with just a few bits of contrast again all I’m doing here is detailing it’s really hard to commentate over when I’m just doing the same thing over and Over again but you need to take into account how many variations of the detailing I’m putting in if it’s all the same like one after the other stacked it’s not gonna look as good having good variation in your detailing but keeping the same style is very very important so Here when I’m detailing this huge flat side I’m going to be using a variety of decorations so on this side I’m using exactly the same as I have been the entire video however when I hit the bigger Parts I start to do something a little bit different I actually make This giant Cross which I Edge in I did a smaller version on the front but it’s also appropriate to do it here because it can fill in a giant space that’s obviously going to cause some problems for the interior later but fortunately for me I don’t do the interior on these Kind of videos but you probably will so I’ll let you hand build that but as you can see this part of the detail is a lot different to the others it’s a bigger detail and that’s kind of important if you had lots of these little windows that I’m making it’s going to look Really complicated so it’s really important to have different shapes and varieties and I have a tried to not use welded as much because I know that does annoy some of you people without world at it but it does save me a lot of time and it saves you seeing me just repeat a Process over and over again so I do use world edit a fair amount but I have tried to cut back in this video which is why it’s taking me such a long time to detail everything as you can probably tell so yeah World editing those bits Sit together is kind of simple and you can see here how without actually doing too much to the depth I have added a really good shape to the castle although it is just one big flat wall until you get to the second layer so take a good Look at the shape right here this was the exactly what we planned at the very beginning when we drew that stuff in Ms paint although that didn’t have the clock face and everything it does look roughly like what I drew on that piece of paper and I’ll do a comparison at the End to prove it along with a really nice cinematic with some music that doesn’t really fit but I own it so I might as well use it and we’re kind of getting there now you can see how the detailings come together and I think I’ve got most Of the parts I want to do I’m not doing the inside of the walls for a very good reason and I’ll tell you why in a second and I’m just doing some Vines as I did earlier on in the very first episode to not only give it contrast but to make it Look a bit nicer and again you can sort of balance out those towers with a nice flag and it also adds some nice color I just Spam a lot of blocks when I make a flag nothing too good it’s all by eye nothing really special there but if you Struggle with flags feel free to take a closer look it’s pretty easy to do so you’ll now is we have this giant empty space there which I’m now going to invite some friends of mine from the windcraft build team so go ahead and build a house and I’ll be helping them Along the way this is something that I hold a bit close to my heart back in the day when I used to play Survival a lot I used to go off and make a gigantic build and sort of create areas for people to come and join my town I made an Underwater base and a bunch of other things but it really stuck with me how building a giant place that looks really good can entice people to come and join your like micro community and you can build together and work together and you’ll see that me along with some of The windcraft builders work together to make this sort of Old English town inside the green fort and it’s really nice to see this happen it takes a long time in fact this took us about an hour to build but honestly it completes and brings the entire build Together it’s all well and good having this giant structure but if you don’t have anyone to share it with what does it truly mean I mean it’s bragging rights that’s about it but what if you actually put it to use so in a survival scenario if you manage to create Something like this Not only would I be a gigantically impressed I would happily come and make a house and live in your castle with you and I’m sure that applies to a lot of people especially along with Builders who perhaps aren’t as quite as talented as you and wouldn’t Build as something as big as that but are quite happy to sit inside and be part of your build and sort of help you out and you can improve the castle name parts of it build Dungeons and whatever else it’s a fantastic idea for a survival community However a project like that is not something to be taken lightly it’s a huge undergoing it’s going to take a long time and an obscene amount of resources I’m not commentating over the building of the houses because it’s not really part of the castle it’s kind of Its own separate thing and it’s another rustic styled house it’s an Old English house but hey if you want a tutorial on how to make them more than happy to oblige I did add a Marketplace in the middle not only as you can probably imagine to add a bit more color and Spice it up but to just make it seem more alive imagine you could have Villages there if you had access to creative you can spawn them there and do some fancy command block work so you can tell here that I decided that we would use snow but to be honest with you the Snow color of just pure white is really intense against the gray so I actually decided to do all the different houses a different color of stained clay not only is it more mild and warm it fit the scenario a lot nicer and I’m going to change that any minute now there we go Just having a play around finding the right color and I actually found that if you’re going to undertake something like this definitely consider using a stained clay because honestly I thought we weren’t going to find an appropriate color but it really went down nicely again we’re not doing any interior here This is all just exterior because it’s a proof of concept teaching you how to build and now you can see why I didn’t detail the inside of the walls kind of obvious now because the houses are attached to them I did see a comment saying that houses wouldn’t be attached To them because of intruders Etc but no big deal anyway let’s get on with the Cinematic so you can see what it’s like foreign thank you so that was the final cinematic we finally finished the castle I don’t like normally doing part one part two as I Said before I probably should have even done this as a 45 minute Standalone and well that’s kind of it thank you very very much for watching if you’ve made it to the end of all three leave something in the comment that suggests to you have heard my voice right now maybe write the Word dongle that seems to be trending right now in my videos so anyway what I wanted you to take home from that castle is some very simple points you need a consistent stylized form and a good shape not only that but you need to have a sense of grandeur those three things Combined I’m sure you can manage to create something amazing and I’d love to see pictures I already saw some people starting one but I’d love to see more I’m always interested to see how you can interpret my videos because not only does that impress me it helps me improve If I see the way that I’m teaching you is making you perform a different build every time then I can sort of work out where I’m going wrong or right in my descriptions anyway thank you very much for watching goodbye Video Information
