You you hey everyone a cat is here I’m going to show you how it’s possible to trigger a note block on 1/2 tick interval I came across this problem whilst working on a note block creation of my own the tempo of the music I was recreating works best If I set repeaters to intervals of 3 like this this allows me to play eighths or quavers after every repeater the problem with this is the particular piece of music I was creating used sixteenth notes or semi quavers this means I would need to play the sixteenth Every one and a half game ticks or between each one of the existing notes repeaters add one to four ticks of delay but they cannot do a half tick here is a small scale playing at a one tick interval this is too fast for my tempo The same again at two ticks and that was too slow for the sixteenths here’s three again and for the trick I am about to show you allows you to play a note block on a half tick so that you can keep perfect rhythm with the sixteenths all you need To do is place a sticky piston into your circuit with a redstone block like this the piston takes with 1.5 ticks to extend and activate the note block so with a 3 tick setup like this it’s the perfect timing so this note will play followed by this One then this one and so on so let’s just take a look at that again the repeaters between the eighth notes are set to three ticks so to make sixteenth notes we need a 1.5 tick interval luckily the Piston takes exactly one point five ticks so this is perfect for What we need now you may have noticed I’ve turned the block sounds off so that we don’t hear the Piston noise so let me just turn that back on that doesn’t sound too great and is the biggest downside to this technique however if you can hide your pistons more than 16 Blocks away you will still be able to hear your song with no piston noise note blocks can be heard from as far as 48 blocks away it’s you can still hear those without hearing the pistons so what do we do if we have a different tick delay for our song Well even number ticks are fairly straightforward as you can just half the repeater delay to get the desired effect but let’s say we have a 5 tick circuit like this one well the same piston technique can still be applied but with a slight alteration so with a 5 tick Circuit we need a 2.5 tick delay so we simply need to replace a repeater down with a one tick interval to activate the piston like this so adding one extra tip to the 1.5 ticks it takes the piston to extend we can even also do this on a one tick Delay setup except we have to fire the piston earlier than the notes that is supposed to play first in order to simulate a half tip what would normally happen with a slow repeater interval is this note would play followed by this one and then this one and so on But since the repeater is set to one tick and the piston takes 1.5 ticks to extend this note is actually going to play after this one so all we have to do is trigger the piston one tick sooner by placing it a little earlier in our circuit just like this So there that’s about as fast as you can possibly make your notes play and that’s all you need to know about half take note blocks I hope you found this video useful if you did please click that like button and leave a comment thanks for watching and take care Video Information
