Hermitcraft 9: Episode 10 – IT’S DONE!

New design to hide these the backs of the doors because they’re not that pretty and I need to think of something to do with the corners because again I just I don’t think there’s anything I can do with this shape particularly the Redstone stuff can stay though because

That kind of looks weirdly cool it’s thinking time thinking thinking thinking thinking thinking thinking time over is thinking even a word honestly it feels like it isn’t anymore but I’m thinking that I connect up all of these cyan terracotta bits so that we have something that

Looks a little bit like this which right now isn’t particularly pretty I’ll be the first to admit I actually think this might have made things worse but then I’m hoping with the addition of some extra details and filling in the gaps between the Terracotta and then

Expanding this area out a little bit we should end up with a really nice shape like this yeah this looks super cool I really really like the little tiny old Frog Light that’s poking through there it just I don’t know how to describe it other than it looks really 3D

It looks very three-dimensional there’s I don’t know I’m not a builder I don’t know the fancy building terms but I feel like I could reach through the screen and just give it a little pinch that’s how that feels and for my smooth brain that’s a good thing I don’t know if I

Should be embarrassed that as I was describing that I actually reached towards my screen to try and pinch the build hey I probably should be embarrassed about that but all I’m saying is if your build doesn’t pass the pinch test then I’m not interested all

Four corners are now done and I must say they are looking rather lovely I especially like the ones that are near the Redstone build this whole setup is starting to feel more and more like an actual room as opposed to the other side of a nice looking build now I have to

Work out what I’m going to do here and honestly I’m not sure well I guess it would be quite nice to extend these into the middle so we have that being consistent that that looks pretty good I mean maybe if we keep the copper it’s still quite flat in fact this is

Incredibly flat so maybe we then do something to pop out the middle does deep slate work and then we’ll leave the diamond block in place it does but it’s very dark so then maybe if we had a frog light in the middle how does that look flat I would describe it

As looking flat these past the pinch test this does not pass the pinch test I don’t want to pinch this what about something like that is that a little bit too busy potentially that actually I think the addition of that kind of balancing is everything let’s all just

Pretend that balancing years is actually a word but it definitely does balancing you is it I think that’s enough of that things are coming along very nicely things are coming along very very nicely now we’ve just got the bottom and the top how does it look if I try and keep

That ridiculously simple just a band of blocks and stairs I actually think it looks pretty good it kind of draws the eye upwards and makes the room feel bigger it also makes me say sentences like that which makes me sound smart and for that reason and that reason alone I

Think we’re gonna keep it I’m having to break this ender chest with a shovel because the shovel is the only thing that I have with a silk touch on it do you actually get the Ender Chest at the end of this am I gonna lose my end chest

Way that I can possibly describe it I’m really proud of the fact that it looks like the inside of a vault but it also looks like the inside of a fantasy vault almost like something out of Harry Potter or something super ridiculously cool but there’s a bit of a problem you

See I have this Vault and I have all of these diamonds and that is an awful lot of diamonds there’s more diamonds than I’ve ever seen ever but I feel I tiny bit bad keeping all of them because you know other than they’re not really my diamonds I still don’t fully understand

Where they’ve come from and despite my best efforts to give them back to the other Hermits well nobody nobody actually took them nobody accepted the Lost diamonds so I need to find something fun to do with them something that will make me feel happy thing number one give them away hey Scott can

Bury them like a pyro yeah I mean this is pretty exciting I can I could get on board with this for sure but then again I think the joy is actually in in digging them back up yeah actually this part’s way more fun but I don’t think I

Can repeatedly bury and then dig up diamonds that seems a little bit pointless doesn’t it what if I combine burying and giving this Redstone Contraption should do the trick for that so I’ll bury my diamonds and then down here we’ve got a skulk sensor which will

Detect when a player walks over it and it will only give out the diamonds 1 in 64 times the player walks over this block that’s kind of fun so let’s find somewhere to hide it and I think somewhere in the shopping district would probably be best now obviously I’m not

Going to disclose exactly where because then a very sneaky hermit could just walk back and forth over the same block endlessly and become incredibly Rich so I’ve got my little Redstone circuit installed I’m trying my best not to give away its location and now the randomizers are getting filled up and

His handshield one in 81 chance of a player getting a diamond when they walk past these blocks which means hopefully it takes a very long time for these 64 diamond blocks to run out so is that use of my diamond blocks made me happier um

I mean I’m not really sure I I was happy when I was building the Redstone Contraption but I think that’s because I was building the Redstone contraption that always makes me happy I’m still not entirely sure what I meant to do with all of these diamonds I mean look how

Many I still have I still have far too many what if I built something that combines all of the things that I just tried build it up into one big contraption that the entire server could enjoy I mean that is big that is bold but I think it could be incredibly

Interesting but for now let’s return to the Vault this place is still a bit of a mess first news first I need to get rid of the entire floor area okay that’s that done now I need to work out what I’m going to do with this area and

I mean I could just make it look a tiny bit tidier that works and just to let you know uh this Redstone here totally fake there was nothing here but I felt like they had to be balanced or should I say balanced in years yep that’s a call

Back to the start of the episode hopefully you remember otherwise you think I’m strange then on either side of this hole that I’ve created I think it would be a good idea to just have some storage I currently have absolutely zero storage and that needs to change what do

I think to this okay so I’ve added in a deep slate border going around here and then I’ve changed out some of the blocks for slightly more blue blocks because it was looking very dark down here and I definitely think that looks nicer I think it will look much much better

When the floor’s in place and all of this rubbish is removed at least that’s what I’m going to keep telling myself I do think it feels a little bit flat so I’m gonna try my best to add a tiny bit of texture maybe something like this how does that look

Actually kind of cool weirdly maybe in a similar vein we could actually break up some of the blocks by adding some lights and then making use of trap doors to add a tiny bit more texture again yeah I definitely think it looks good here so it should look good everywhere else oh

And I think then adding in the stairs to break up this line of blocks really is the finishing touch I’ll tell you what there is something incredibly satisfying about solving building problems okay our main frame has been worked out this back wall is all done this is kind of the

Unimportant wall it’s the wall that I can’t really do much with because there’s Redstone behind it so I’m happy with this because now all of these bits that need all of the work first things first they need to be clear then they need to be encased in some form of

Acceptable block and I would say this smooth deep slate is probably the one I don’t really have a good use for it and yet it still sits in the same block palette as the rest of the build so that makes it perfect now to get the word for

Some chests which again fill up this entire place so now we have a solid little storage system this should hopefully do me quite well until I get myself some kind of massive automatic sorting system I’m gonna try my best to keep it as organized as possible I’m

Going to put all the signs in and everything like that but for now uh yeah it’s just a complete mess wait a second I’m doing building and now all of my chests are disorganized am I slowly becoming green I was wondering where the urge to start a war was coming from

Server-wide battles aside I think for this back wall here I’m just going to have a whole bunch of furnaces again I’m going to use this until I get myself a big old industrial smelter oh we’re getting there I thought it would be smart to add these things in by the way

Because I had nowhere to actually put them so finally we’ve got the floor and I have a very cool idea for what I want to do with this firstly I’m going to carry these lines out a little bit like what we’ve done with the ceiling here I

Just love the grid formations and mixed in with stairs as well on the floor I mean this this is the sort of thing that gets me very excited in Minecraft and honestly I couldn’t tell you why I’ve always loved the way that it looks I

Still love the way that it looks and I think for as long as I’m building a Minecraft I will love the way that it looks from there I want to do something a little bit interesting and I’m not entirely sure if this is going to look

Good but I’m willing to give it a go the only problem is it breaks one of my most important rules that I tend to keep while building oh gosh I can’t believe that I’m doing this I mean it feels wrong but I think in the context of a vault

It kind of makes sense please make it make sense and you know what I actually think it looks awesome I think that looks so cool especially when you’re coming in you just get a peak of diamonds imagining that on all four quadrants I think that is the nice

Finishing touch that this build needs although the black glass was making it a little bit dull looking so I’ve swapped that out for regular glass I think that helps a lot and then also we were lacking a little bit of copper color down here so I’ve swapped out some of

The stairs for the wood and copper combo a bit like what I’ve done over here and that combination of things yeah that has done the right thing it has brought some of the copper downwards it’s kind of transitioned these areas and it’s made it feel like a more cohesive build well an absolutely

Enormous success so let’s get the rest of the quadrants all fully constructed that is quadrant number two all in place quadrant number three and quadrant number four which is the final components to our vault the vault is now completed it is finished the interior is done the exterior is done all of the

Redstone systems are completed this thing is fully finished and it is looking it’s looking lovely it’s looking really really nice the one thing that I really wanted to achieve with this build is I wanted it to feel alive I wanted it to feel decently small scale but kind of

Lived in with lots of interesting details make it an intricate build instead of a massive structure that doesn’t really have quite as much life in it and it’s quite a tricky balance but I think I’ve managed to put it off with this build I’m just really happy

With how everything has come together I love the way that it looks I love the way the inside looks I mean look at that that looks that looks magical through the roof glass that looks so cool this actually might be one of my favorite angles of the build weirdly enough now

Just because this part is done that does not mean my base is completed there is still this gigantic red outline out the back there which I haven’t forgotten about and I haven’t removed for good reason and we’ll get onto that a little bit later but for now I just want to
