Hermitcraft 9: Episode 39 – THE BIG CLEAN

I am Mumbo’s best friend. Or at least, I can prove it by getting the purple crown but currently there’s two people waiting for it to hit yellow. And I can’t have them be a tier three Mumbo best friend because I’m Mumbo’s best friend. As soon as that ticks over into yellow

Both of them, one or the other of them, is going to press it or I could press it and make sure that I stay in the running to be Mumbo’s best friend. I don’t know how long it’s got left until it ticks over yellow but it can’t be long. [FALSE] Grian? [GRIAN] Yeah?

[FALSE] Don’t do it. [GRIAN] Ah! [FALSE] Or do it because- [GRIAN] Oh I thought that noise behind me meant it was done. I thought that noise meant it was done! [FALSE] [laughs] Wait, what is that noise? [GRIAN] Did I break it? [FALSE] Oh it’s going back up. [JOE] No, he’s healing it.

[GRIAN] I saved the button! Yay! I actually thought that that noise behind me meant that it had ticked over. I guess it just clunks all the time. Well, at least I- At least I’m still in the running to be Mumbo’s best friend. From what I know not a single person

Has the purple crown. So we still got time. Speaking of Mumbo and being best friends in the whole wide world, he has designed something to get back at me with by the looks of things. The understanding, the mutual understanding we have with the target block thing

Is that we don’t ask too many questions or investigate too hard. Now I don’t know what this is. In fact, I really don’t know what this is. We’re going to give this a little- a little go and just hope… Just hope. [redstone ticking noise] [gasps] Lava dripping. Is it ticking- Oh.

That’s your copper. What is? Oh no! I was on the wrong side! That is- Eh- Nooo!! [laughs] Noo! My copper! Noo! Ah! Man’s burning- That’s not very best friend behaviour! Ah! There’s still some there! I haven’t got space! Noo! [laughs] I actually lost- I actually lost a decent amount of copper there.

I definitely lost like a stack. Oh no! He actually- He actually did something. I mean I made him jump and he actually- See, this is why I need a purple crown. This is why I need the crown. See, he can’t do this kind of thing when we’re best friends

Because this is not best friend behaviour. [laughs] I can’t believe I just like did it the wrong way round! I tried to age it and it took so long. I think that when I was aging my copper, it had been there for like two, three weeks, maybe even longer

And it didn’t age very well at all. That I got- Oohh! I got to hand it to him. Oh wait a minute, wait a minute. Wait a minute, wait a minute. I don’t think I investigated this too heavily. I have a sneaky suspicion that actually the copper wasn’t burning at all.

I think that it was falling down. Is there another sign that says otherwise? Oh maybe it is best friend behaviour. He didn’t really burn it, he just wanted me to think it was being burned. That’s purple crown quality interaction. Now I have to think of something to top that.

That’s actually gonna be really difficult to beat. While I ponder my target revenge, it’s actually a good time to turn our attention to my very organised storage area. My storage system has been absolutely wonderful. It makes sense, it’s beautiful and it’s most importantly organised and everything is in its place

But it could be better. So I’ve actually gone ahead on my own server and I’ve gone and made a bunch of more rocks to go over here and over there and some trees and oohh, it looks great. I used a bit of VoxelSniper to make these lovely curved

And then I used WorldEdit to worldedit the texture in and I mean, that’s how I got these shapes in the first place. But now I’m gonna extend it and really decorate this place so that I can store my stuff in an even more beautiful way than I am now. Because let’s be honest,

It’s hard to beat perfection but we’re gonna give it a go. We’re gonna give it a go. So my next job is to begin quite a lengthy process and I’m actually thinking that maybe I tackle this in two halves to make it a bit more digestible because there is,

I mean this, there’s a lot. There’s a huge amount- I’m talking to the microphone. There’s a huge amount of rocks to build and it might take me a while. I’m gonna start on this side because what I’ve got is a really cool entrance way here

And then a pathway and then some rocks and stuff. So we’re gonna make a line here and we’re gonna do this half and we’re gonna see- Excuse me sir, how do you think this is gonna come out? Well, let’s find out. [MUSIC] I’m pretty sure as soon as it goes yellow,

False is gonna go for it. But yellow doesn’t mean anything. Yellow doesn’t- Yellow you get three diamonds and a tier three friendship crown. Mmm… Not good- I mean, I’m not even a tier three friend right now, I want to be the best friend. I’m not gonna get it with these vultures

Trying to push that button. Pushing buttons is my job. I am not gonna make the same mistake though. I am gonna wait until that goes off. Even if it takes all day. All day. Pretty sure each button- I’m pretty sure each lamp is like an hour so could be here a while. [gasps]

You get nothing. Why? I kinda deserve that. Now that I think about it. Yeah, I deserve that. You get- [sighs] Not even a tier three friend at the moment. [laughs] That’s how that feels. Yep! After that short button break, we are going to continue building our lovely decorations.

Look at this! How good does this look! It feels so much more finished! Ah I’m so happy that I’ve embarked on this adventure! However, building giant rocks, as is the case with the giant big ones, I don’t know how I got through that because this is pretty soul destroying.

It is soaking up so many resources to build these things but hey, I think it’s gonna be worth it because one of the big features that I’m working on now is this one here that’s gonna extend all the way under and produce that extra support

That is vitally missing from the bottom of the base. So, back to the building. That’s really quite violent the way- Has it always shaken- Has it always done that? Yeah I think we got to add a couple of torches to this before we continue. [MUSIC] We have actually ended up creating

A whole complete decoration of the base around the outside and down here. I have done so much more than I expected to. Purely because I had a bit of extra time on my hands so I was able to make it. And I [sighs] I don’t know, there was something in me,

I got my flow going. Now there is a little bit of a detail that I wanted to add to these rocks here. There’s a big difference between this rock and this one. And it’s purely in the transition from rock to ground. So you see, this just hits the grass and there’s nothing there

Whereas this one has stone and some mossy cobble. And all I need to do is add a little bit of transition between the two and it makes an absolute world of difference. So now that this is all decorated, I’m very much running out of excuses not to sort out

All of my shulker boxes and all of this horrendous storage that’s floating. So, why don’t we grab all the things that need to go over for sale at The Entity and we can begin the process of getting this place tidied up. And while we’re there,

We can do a bit of a button check. [gasps] Well, you don’t get nothing. You get three diamonds. We don’t care about the diamonds, we care about the crown. See, by my calculations I think one of these… One, two, three, four, five, six. I think each lamp is about an hour

And I wanna sleep so do I just take the tier three friendship? Because as soon as the other Hermits are up and about, this is gonna get pressed. There’s- I- I don’t know if anyone is ever gonna be Mumbo’s best friend because I’m just gonna- I’m gonna take it. Yay!

Oh! Look at that! I’m a C-list friend. It’s easier to secure this now than gamble it and go for the red. Not even many people have this one because it keeps getting here and everyone- [laughs] I think more people don’t want others to have it if that makes sense

Than actually wanting it themselves. Preventative measures. The Entity doesn’t really have the space for all of this but I have got this section down here and it does mean a bit more building but I think it will be worth it. Let’s turn this into part of the shop.

So all of these shulkers were just sitting at my base taking up this much space when they should’ve been at The Entity making sales. So, some of the things that I’ve been doing with my storage, it’s not even storage. It’s just shear laziness. So anyway, let’s get this cleared up.

We’re gonna make a very, very basic place for this to be sold just to get it out of our hair. So all I’m gonna do is droop some wool that’s like held up by some sticks. One here, one here and then one over here and create a canopy

And then literally just layer this in a line and get them up for sale. Now with these it’s always a nice idea to try and simulate physics a little bit. So it obviously droops down and it gets longer at the back so if it’s drooping across here,

I want just a little bit of gravity to affect these front blocks here. One more pillar here and connect them up and then I think that will be enough. For a ten minute build and a quick canopy, I think that has come out alright. I must admit, shopping doesn’t seem to be

Quite as big of a thing this season as it has been in the past but people still do shop. The Entity has made tons of diamonds, it’s just not been a focal point this season. And there we have it! All of the different colours. It took longer to sort all this out

Than it did to actually build the structure. But hey, I’m happy with this. This is exactly what it need and look how much I’ve got rid of in terms of clutter. This was all just sitting in my base. So we got glazed terracotta, blue dye, stained glass and then your concrete powder

And I just realised I probably could even supply wool and normal terracotta as well but maybe we should just focus down on what we need to get done. So now it’s actually the tedious part where I’ve now got to tidy up all this junk. Now my plan was to do this.

Create little cave inlets inside each of the rocks that are around here. Maybe one here, there, there and then I can shove all of the chests in here and then maybe group them into things like stone or different colours or redstone bits. That way there is some kind of organisation

But I don’t have to worry about any real storage system. It is the storage crater and then it should look fairly cool. So we’re about to see a timelapse of me tidying up. I’m not sure that chores has ever been worthy of a timelapse but I actually have a sneaky suspicion

That this might look pretty cool. So, we’re gonna do another time- Look at how much progress there is today! Let’s go! [MUSIC] Look how clean this is! No more chests, no more shulker boxes and guess how long this took? Over seven hours! It took me longer to clean up my base

Than it did- Oh there’s a Zedaph flying in. Can he see me? [GRIAN] Zed? [laughs] Zed? [ZED] Hello? [GRIAN] [laughs] Hello? [ZED] Where are you? [GRIAN] Right beneath you. [ZED] What are you doing down there? [GRIAN] I was just showing the audience my lovely clean base. [ZED] Is this what you consider clean?

[GRIAN] What?! There’s not a- Where’s the shulker boxes? [ZED] Oo now you’re- This is a challenge now. Er… I will find one. Well, okay this is like neat mess. There’s a shulker box right there though. [GRIAN] Yeah, that’s part of the storage. That’s part of it.

[ZED] Yeah, these little nice geodes of storage. Okay, yeah this is looking pretty good. [GRIAN] You have no idea how good this is for me. You have no idea what I live in normally. The state. [ZED] Hey, I lived in your mansion once.

I know exactly what it’s like to live in your mess. [GRIAN] Oh yeah, that’s true. [ZED] Grian, I have something I need to ask you. Come close. [GRIAN] How close? This close? [ZED] Come as close as you dare. I mean that’s- I mean, yeah cool okay.

Literally I don’t think we could get closer without just bumping. [ZED laughs] [GRIAN] Right right, okay I’m close. [ZED] Grian, rumours tell me that you are a man with eggs. [GRIAN] Oh, do I have eggs? I’ll show you eggs. [GRIAN] I’ll show you eggs. [ZED] Yeah? I wanna see them.

[ZED] Show me all the available eggs. [GRIAN] Oh yeah. You come see these eggs. I’ll show you these eggs. Oh there’s eggs. [ZED] Grian! Not- What kind of eggs are- No! Dragon eggs, my friend. [GRIAN] Mm… See that’s a- That’s a delicate subject. [ZED] You have dragon eggs, no?

Are my little rumours not true? [GRIAN] Who’s told you this? Was it Youtube? Was it my videos? [ZED laughs] I will neither confirm nor deny. [GRIAN] Okay. And… Hypothetically, if I did have eggs. [ZED] Yes. [GRIAN] What would you want with them? [ZED] I just- We just go one step at a time,

I just like to see it in your hand like that chicken egg but nice and dragon-y instead. [GRIAN] Ehm. See, I keep it safe in the void. [ZED] [laughs] I thought you might. Oh ah ba! I saw it. Da da! Da da! [GRIAN] Normal egg. Just egg.

[ZED] How many of these eggs have you? [GRIAN] Now, hypothetically if I did have any eggs, it might be more than one. [ZED] It might be more than one. [GRIAN] It might be more than one. [ZED] And we’re saying hypothetically. Emphasis on the pathetically part of hypothetically, correct? [GRIAN] Yes.

[ZED] Would you maybe spare an egg? For a Zedaph in need? [GRIAN] Have you got something to barter with? I mean, I would’ve been a bit kinder about my base being clean if you came here asking for dragon eggs. [ZED laughs] [GRIAN] If I’m honest. [ZED] Oh I should’ve

Used my manners first, shouldn’t I? I think we should let the eggs decide, honestly. Eggs can choose who they want to be with. And I think we should just let the egg choose. [GRIAN] Okay, and how do you plan on doing that? [ZED] We draw a line in the grass

And then we punch the egg and if it goes on my side- – if it goes on my side of the line, the egg can come with me. If it’s on your side of the line, you keep the egg. [GRIAN] Alright, I like this idea. Right.

[ZED] But it’s kind of a lose lose situation for you. [GRIAN] We’ll let the egg decide. Now what if you do lose here, Zedaph? [ZED] Ehm… I won’t. This egg wants me. [GRIAN] Alright. [ZED] Shall I do the punching? [GRIAN] Yeah. Ha ha ha haa! Ha ha! [ZED] Best of three.

[GRIAN laughs] [ZED] I need this egg, Grian! I think it’s because you need to punch the egg. It’s your egg at the moment, I can’t be punching them. [GRIAN] Well, you still haven’t told what you want it for. It was nice and safe with me. Alright, I’ll do this one.

[ZED] You do the punching. Uh-oh. Oh! Hello! [GRIAN] That is- That’s one all. [ZED] Look at that and it even went behind me like it wanted me for protection. [GRIAN] Alright, one all. [ZED] Okay, are we saying this is the decider? [GRIAN] You were saying best of three.

[ZED] I will not leave here without a dragon egg. So this is gonna be interesting. Shall we punch it together? [GRIAN] Alright, three, two, one go! [ZED] You- I hate these eggs! I mean clearly this egg doesn’t understand what it needs- like. [GRIAN laughs] [ZED] Okay, alright Grian,

I don’t want to have to say it out loud. I’m sure- Are these eggs legitimate? Did they all come- [GRIAN] Oh how very dare- Get out of my base! I can’t believe what I’m hearing! You are not getting a single dragon egg from me. This is the one, the only,

The legitimate Hermitcraft season nine dragon egg. I am flabbergasted, I am insulted. I am miffed. [mumbles] Come in here playing these dragon egg games with me and trying to question the authenticity of my dragon- No no no, you said you aren’t leaving. You’re leaving with no dragon eggs today.

[ZED] I’m staying right here. What are you gonna do about it? I mean, you’re gonna walk off. [GRIAN laughs] Jokes on him, I can tell when he’s online. So now I’ve waited for him to leave and now the content begins. Now someone- You know, I’ve kinda maybe made copies of these

Because I knew one day they would be desirable and not only is there two museums, with their dirty mitts wanting these, but also a Zedaph. And you know me, I don’t like to just hand things over. It’s got to be- It’s got to have some content. So why don’t we

Do a little something with the dragon egg for Zedaph and make him earn it because clearly he lost the best out of three dragon egg game. So why don’t we make an Indiana Jones style riddle puzzle type thing and hopefully this will be a bit of fun.

But first, we should go back to just appreciating the level of progress that has been made today. I’ve got this. I’ve got rid of all the clutter that was in my base and over here, this is my ink farm and it’s one of the most successful farms I’ve ever made.

In face, I put those glass blocks over the top to see if it would still work. Well, it still does work. A little too well because this is full. So instead of having this be the open square and it’s super ugly, I’m going to return to a barge like build

From season seven that goes over the top. But I honestly think that is enough progress in one episode. We’re gonna just test one little thing before we go. And oh man! Do you know how quickly I just found an observer? Normally I would have to look

So hard in order to find ann observer. No, not any more. Right. Is there a way to remove that dragon egg without activating the observer? Now I don’t think that there is. If you right click it, yeah it activates. If you piston it, it activates. So we can create

A little something something trap for Zedaph to make him get the dragon egg. That might have to be something for the next episode because I feel very, very happy about where we’re leaving this one. So, I want to thank you very much for watching and especially for watching
