Hermitcraft 9: The Gift Shop! (Ep. 86)

Ladies and gentlemen welcome back to hermitcraft the last time we set up our weather pong exhibit here at the Museum as you can see it’s working just fine pretty nifty and this is yeah one of my favorite things we’ve added so far at the Museum here we’re just gonna turn this off

Temporarily here while this uh shoots back in that direction there we go but not only do we have the Wither pulling exhibit now we also will soon have a few more exhibits and a lot more artifacts because check this out ladies and gentlemen we’ve been busy we went

Raiding people’s bases recently we rated greens base mumbo’s base Hypno XB Etho B-Dubs and look at all these artifacts we found look at all these artifacts King artifacts Etho artifacts rare heads of all different types and we also got a bunch of stuff that will complement existing uh things existing displays so

I’m super excited to put these down in the near future but that will have to wait for a moment because today guys we have a very important goal and that is finishing up one of the wings that we left unfinished a few episodes back as you might recall over on this side of

The museum we have the smithing templates and armor trim section of the museum where we are attempting to display all the templates we already got all the templates as you can see here in their own little sections however you’ll notice that a lot of these armor stands are missing armor pieces and that’s

Because we need more diamonds to copy the smithing templates to put on each type of armor piece you know we need helmet we need a pants we need shoes we need one uh template for each one now we already have all the templates of course

So we got a box here actually with all the templates that I’m keeping around just as you know if I ever want to change my armor change my lookup we can do that pretty easily but we need the diamonds to copy all these things and

Turns out we need I want to say like I want to say like 30 pieces or so I think it’s like 32 times 7 for each template to copy each template that’s like 220 some diamonds and we don’t have quite that many we went mining a little

Bit already but we have not quite gotten there yet we’re at a hundred and 128 126 yeah 126. so that’s not 226 or 224 or whatever it is so I’m gonna try and aim for like 250 diamonds I think that’ll be enough to get us some diamond armor

Pieces copy all the smithing templates and then have a few left over as well so give me a minute here we’re gonna go hit the mines guys we got to get some armor we gotta get some diamonds we got to get this win complete so after about two and

A half hours of mining or so we ended up with this many diamonds however many this is we’re gonna go ahead and put these all down and we only had to use basically one pickaxe uh so we got our Fortune pick here our other pick our other silk touch pick unfortunately

Needs to be uh repaired yeah you can see this is our main pick here totally depleted 39 durability left at a 2031. um but yeah I may put this whole mining session up on the second channel in case you guys want to see it but for now

We’re going to put down these orders let’s start off with the regular one down here and then go up from here and we’ll see how many diamonds we get from this all right there we go let’s make sure we didn’t have any diamond shavings coming off the side here

From the tower and I think we are good yes all right let’s see how many we got we got four Stacks plus 52. so almost five Stacks we add that to our total and I think now since this itself is 250 I think we have more than enough diamonds to make our templates

So with our newly gathered diamonds we can gather these up and gather up the smithing templates we need which I have a list so for instance with the snout armor we need three uh so we’ll grib uh let’s see three of these and we will do three of these in here so once

Twice three times copied there we go we’re gonna have an extra one here just because we had two in initially but there we go and then we can make ourselves whatever we need so in this case we need all three uh helmets boots and leggings so let’s just go ahead and

Make some leggings we’ll make a let’s say iron helmet and let’s do some boots of leather there we go and then we can grab some stuff out of here let’s say Emerald copper and Amethyst that sounds good uh and then we can go in here

Put these in and let’s do this guy here we’ll do Emerald on the boots and on the helmet let’s do copper there we go so that is now completed let’s see if we have an extra shulker box we do so we will put the completed

Armor in here and then we just go to the next one and on and on and on all right guys so all the armor templates are now made we got some netherrite stuff in here as well and yeah we got a whole bunch of different trims and materials

And stuff uh we need to put in at the Museum as far as our diamonds basically all the ones we mine today are gone uh we still have about two stacks left though but yeah we consumed over five Stacks uh like almost six Stacks even so pretty expensive to get these things

Copied but we are making you know one of every single one of these things so that makes makes sense it would be kind of expensive however these are now done let’s head to the museum and we’ll place them down all right ladies and gentlemen

So this is it this is the final pair of boots and leggings and hats we got to put down on our armor stands and with that this area this wing of the museum is now complete take a look at all the different types of armor trim and what they look like

When they’re placed on Armor looks super fancy looks super cool we got more over here of course and I gotta say there are some cool combos that we’ve made here uh we just randomly put on different uh types of armor and different types of uh trims like different uh materials for

Trims so it’s made some really unique combinations for sure I think probably my favorites I think my favorite is probably still this Dune helmet with the leather cap and the gold trim I don’t know it just feels really good to me but that looks really cool anything

On netherrite looks amazing uh you can see like these netherite boots we got here these look really good if we put these on yeah that looks really cool outlined to your shoes pretty much so that’s really nice we also have I think where is it uh yeah this helmet up here

This iron helmet with quartz trim this gives you like a bone helmet bony helmet so to speak if I open this up you can see this a little bit in the character menu a little bit better so that’s really nice really digging that one um so yeah lots of really really good

Combinations and one over here the Spire helmet I put diamond on diamond check this out this looks really nice diamond on Diamond Helmet so it just gives like subtler highlights so so much possibility that you have here with these armor trims I think this is one of

The best things added if not the best thing added in the update and of course there are five octillion possible trim and armor combinations possible in the game so it’s safe to say you will never ever see them all in your lifetime so yeah hopefully this inspires people to

Use these a little bit more often and in cool ways but speaking of armor we have one more set or two more sets more Accolade of armor that we need we actually need to put armor on These Guys these are the jack-o-lantern stands which were discontinued in 119 4. and we

Need to put some armor on these because they’re just plain armor stands at the moment and I think what we’ll do is we’ll make these another right armor because we can and we want the best in this Museum because we’re trying to make this Museum the best museum ever created

In the history of Minecraft so that necessitates some nether right armor on these guys all right ladies and gentlemen we got some netherright armor now we’re gonna put on these jack-o-lantern armor stands check this out we got some netherrite with some silence armor and copper because it’s gonna be like an orange ish

Material uh but these were actually very very expensive to make uh because you now have to get you know the diamond armor then the diamonds to upgrade the template or to copy the template and then the item on that so yeah that looks pretty cool not gonna lie that looks

Pretty cool so that’s one and then I thought we’d do like the opposite on this guy so instead of having uh like nether right armor with the orange copper trim we’re gonna have orange armor with netherrite trim so I put a netherrite trim on leather armor so let’s just see

How this looks yeah look at that two spooky sets right there bam that’s pretty cool so black on Orange and orange on black I like it now comes the portion of the episode where we’re going to add some new artifacts to the museum we got all these artifacts to add

So let’s get to it first thing we’re adding today is actually right up here with the armor stands we just put down and that is some new mob heads we got the bat head we got a creeper head and we got the new Vex head uh where the

Effects are sort of angry so you can see we have now both types the old Vex head and the new Vex head for me personally I prefer the old one next up we got a new record disc Sizzle pew pew is the name of this one let’s go here and play it

And see what it sounds like before we place it into our audio collection okay Creeper explosion yeah explosions all right and then green dictating the rest awesome so that’s fantastic Sizzle pew pew now added to the music disc collection I almost forgot the Iron Golem head too that’s also going on the

Mop head wall we have a new hermit head today for the museum this is the Shady scar hermit head as I’m calling it I believe this is one of his MCC skins but looks like a little rap scallion guy so we’re calling him Shady scar next up we

Have the historic cute guy suit and now Beau uh so this cute guy boat looks mysteriously like the Hawkeye bow but it is in fact a official cute guy bow so we’ll put this up here we’re gonna trigger this as invisible to make it invisible and there we go that enhances

Our cute guy collection speaking of cute guys and hot guys check this out we got our hot guy one out of 10 original genuine hot guy signature hot guy keep your eye on the Target and this actually is the original as you can see signed by

Good times with scar so yeah this is huge we found this in a chest somewhere so we will put this down let’s see right here maybe yeah we’ll put this right here put a book in there make sure that’s on and then we’re gonna break this I think we’re gonna place this down

And we’re gonna say uh genuine one out of ten uh original quote hot guy signature there we go perfect all right so that’s that uh we’ll put like a wool block down here like a red wolf in this space I feel uh and then over here we have a

Jelly Ice Cream Sandwich which we can add to our scarland treats collection you can then trigger this to make it invisible and there we go that’s another treat to our collection of scarland Edibles next up we have a ton of artifacts for this bottom room here so we have xb’s

Octodrop token which will complement this octodrop display quite nicely we can just keep it up there and we have the book already here from XB for his mini game then we have another artifact for total cast this is hypnotized actual uh Victory helmet from the very first

Playing of total chaos so we will put this right in here I survived total chaos one by hypnotized in August of 2022 that again was the first round there’s a couple more total cast artifacts lying around out there I have not located yet but hopefully soon so

We’re going to keep a slot open for that uh coming over here we have a bow the Thou shalt not mine diamonds bow this is the bow used by Joe Hills a knight of the round table right there so that’s a historically significant Kings artifact

That we found in Joe’s base next step we have Ren the king’s correspondence with sir Etho check this out I didn’t even know this existed but apparently Ren the king wrote a book to Etho uh welcome him to welcoming him to the King’s Tower uh when he was the

King so yeah pretty interesting stuff there so we’re gonna put that in here as a royal artifact uh so yeah quite a few Royal artifacts getting put into here today this next artifact is a artifact of great historical significance this is the historic seat of Whimsy book from

Bwo from April of 2022 and this not only enhances our exhibit of the tree of Whimsy Clues but it predates the clues by several months so definitely a historic find here now we also have another Banner pattern to add so this is the snap Banner pattern and we have the

Globe Banner pattern I should probably name this but yeah that will eventually go right there next up we have some messages from Ren the king to partygoers post Castle party of course the king’s private areas are off limits the king will be Avenged treasonous party goer

Your head Will Be Mine by the order of the king there you go so those were just a couple of messages sent from the King to partygoers and those are now in the crashing area we also have an authentic piece of grumbot CPU which opened the Empire’s Rift right here as a new

Display next to the rift itself finally we got a bow from Joe’s Giant pinball explosion event this is when myself Korean Asuma impulse and Joe himself blew up a bunch of TNT underneath of Joe’s Giant pinball base we also have two new empires artifacts these are two pieces of clio’s escape

Room which I believe were like taken out of the escape room when Hermits and Empires folks played together in December so yeah these are going above Jimmy because I know Jimmy was there I know a bunch of other uh Empires folks are also there but I think this is the

Best spot for it you know what every good museum has everyone not artifacts not character not a great layout but instead some secret stuff that’s right that’s right I know some of you have picked up on this but if not allow me to introduce you to secret stuff the sign

We’ve had this up for a few episodes now and some people have asked what is this secret stuff what are you hiding here inside the museum well nothing quite yet but soon but soon and so what I want to do it’s also on this sign over here by the way where some of

You saw it what I want to do today is add a secret entrance on both sides of the museum which will both expand our space in the museum and allow us to open things like the gift shop and yeah anything else we want to do basically so right now space

And museum is kind of limited right we have a lot of displays things are starting to get crowded a little bit but down below underneath the floor here there’s still a lot of space look at all this space this is actually where I’ve been storing all the stuff to build

Everything you’ve seen in the museum over the last few days and weeks like we just have a whole bunch of stuff just like plop down here so that we can quickly and easily have access to it the only other things down here are the hot guy challenge Redstone the total chaos

Simulated Redstone and the BDubs got a shriep record disc and so we need us a way to basically get down here and open up that space and what I’m planning to do is I want to basically have Redstone that can turn this staircase into another staircase so we’re gonna basically have these

Stairs here retract and then we can come over here like players come over here and then turn and then here it would be amazing if there was like a staircase type thing down here which led downwards like this down into the bottom of the museum so that you know you can

Seamlessly walk from the front area you activate something and then the stairs open up here and then you just simply walk down to the hidden area I think that would be amazing I think that would be amazing and the coolest thing is that this just seamlessly fits into the

Museum and will have like a button you can press that like basically closes it behind you or something but we not only have this side to work with it just so happens we have an identical side on this side which means we can bus this guy out have another staircase going down here

Either to the same area or potentially to a totally different area so two Secrets similar but maybe a little bit different we’ll see anyways I gotta get going on some Redstone here to make this thing happen but I think having a cool area like this would be really really

Fun so the first thing I did here is make a door with a calibrated skulk sensor that’s already done at this point but now I have to clear out a big room because I want to make a giant area for our staircases to come down into so we’re just basically clearing out a

Whole area here and once the area was cleared out we went through and I decided to put down some white concrete around the entire room because contrary to the rest of the museum I wanted this area to be nice and bright because people are going to be coming down here

They want to purchase things and Studies have shown that people buy more things when it’s brighter no I I don’t actually know if that’s true it may or may not be but regardless we went with the white concrete all the way around the room and

Then as you can see on the ceiling as well mostly because we wanted to cover the top of the ceiling with the lodestones and the clan things which want a different feel for the bottom so we covered that up and once that was done uh we had a couple more things to decide

All right ladies and gentlemen welcome back as you can see here we’ve now cleared out of space for our gift shop now I know it’s not much to look at now but this is the seeds of something Grand and we’ve also went ahead and got the buttons now situated on both sides

So you can see hit the button it opens or it closes and then hit the button again it opens exact same thing on this side so hit the button closed hit the button again and it’s open so that’s working really well so we’re gonna have our staircase

Come down here both staircases are going to lead into like a big room here and I want to have I’ve decided I do want to have the like entrance or second entrance out the bottom here so we’ll probably like make this like a somewhat large entrance like this out the bottom

It would also be nice to have more like natural lighting so maybe we you know put like a window in here somewhere like this maybe even maybe even like a big window like this could be kind of cool so I have like a giant window like that and then maybe

One on the other side you know over here somewhere I think that’d be a good shape for us maybe not there you want to have the wall still connected I think but yeah like this so yeah that’ll be our entrance and our Windows here coming in

The back side of the museum uh then on the inside I’ve got a couple of things here uh not this one this one yes so I’ve made a bunch of chisel bookshelves and bookshelves I think we’re gonna basically let’s put away this white concrete here we’re gonna basically put

These up on the sides of this so like you know we’ll just have you know a good combination of chisel bookshelves and regular bookshelves so we’ll just you know mix it up a little bit here and there you know some regular some chiseled like this and yeah just basically mix it up so

That it’s you know a whole wall of bookshelves because I figured you know gift shops they probably have some books for sale you know history of the museum history of hermitcraft we could even have some of the Hermits potentially like write some books and we can put

Them in here that would be really cool so we’ll do that uh then for the floor here I’m thinking I’m gonna go with some bamboo uh because I have not really used bamboo so we have the regular bamboo variety like this uh we can put it on

Its side and we got of course the strip variety like this and also the stripped variety on its side so I’m going to try and use this and try and utilize some of the other new blocks like the cherry wood and stuff Cherry leaves stuff like that

To make this area really really unique and we should probably also temporarily close this off so that mobs can’t just walk in here but that’s basically a plan for this region you can see we moved out all the Redstone and stuff behind here so this is where I’m storing all my

Stuff now a little bit cramped in here but once this is done I think this will be super super cool so let me get started on this area and I’ll be right back all right so let’s start this gift shop so as I said previously we’re putting down bookshelves on the side so

Just trying to make a good variety of regular bookshelves and the new chisel bookshelves which you can put real books in then we had to determine you know where the midpoint of the gift shop is what the layout is going to be so I made the entrance here and wanted it to be

Nice and bright so I hid the lighting underneath of some red carpets just because we’ve done that red carpet above in the upper part of the museum so that ties in well with the bottom part here then we went ahead and filled in the staircase area and decided to put in

Some of the new blocks the bamboo blocks just went with a nice simple design with the Green Bamboo surrounded by the stripped bamboo put in our Windows put in some benches and now that we had our layout we just needed to figure out how to organize things and what to put where

In terms of like what we’re going to be selling so I made these little cool Cherry leaf and cherry wood trapdoor like module areas where we can sell some things alright ladies and gentlemen so welcome back we now have a nice beautiful area underneath of our Museum

To act as our gift shop so this is where we’re gonna sell some things and hopefully make a lot of diamonds for further artifact acquisition in the museum so this is going to fund our addiction for more artifacts so basically yeah this is what it’s looking

Like we went with some nice Lighting on the ceiling behind some bamboo trap doors I think that makes like a cool little ceiling thing we got some Greenery here in the form of Mangrove leaves and these are actually the proper eels which form sort of the stem of the

Plant which I think is kind of a cool little detail there and then uh yeah we’re gonna have a villager here that’s going to be Manning the gift shop similar to what we have above so we need to move a villager in here still but let

Me show you what we are actually selling in this area so over here we got some pottery shirts so these things are kind of tough to get you know you have to go out into the world find the structure brush the block and also get kind of

Lucky so we’re selling these shirts two diamonds per shirt uh for all these so yeah and every single one is going to be two diamonds per shirt and we’re also giving people Free Bricks so you can make your own uh sort of unique pot here in the museum gift shop same thing over

Here we got more shirts and this area I think is just really cool because you have the Cherry leaves providing just a little bit of particle effects okay in Free Bricks over here and then eventually we’ll have some more Pottery shirts over here although we need to

Actually acquire more of those next up we are selling some musical stuff so we have some uh yeah goat horns so this one is just saying this is just the normal goat horn with a nice sound and then you know how some gift shops have things that are sort of borderline historical they’re

Not really the actual historical artifacts but they’re like a tangent off of something that has like history behind it this is one such artifact so check this out this comes from a very uh honorable and dedicated individual [Applause] Lead yes indeed ladies and gentlemen we’ve done it we’ve done it so this one’s a little bit rarer this one’s three diamonds per Horn uh so yeah there you go uh we also have the TCG song of course available for purchase TCG easy as one three diamonds per dish one

Two three dcg baby you and me a must-have for anybody who loves TCG or who has a TCG Arena and then of course we have the not so Christmas disc this is actually Ollie’s Christmas disc I believe it’s a pretty awesome song and we’ll add more as we get more music discs finally

We have a museum Spyglass souvenir uh this is just a spyglass that you can use to yeah basically look at all the artifacts and all the things around the area in the museum just a diamond per spy glass then over here the last section we’re not actually the last section

Because we got some stuff we’re gonna do over here but we have suspicious sand available three diamonds per block because this stuff’s pretty rare and suss gravel uh two diamonds per block because again pretty rare stuff um so yeah that is that I eventually want to get a villager here similar to

What we have on the top up here uh where we have Mr Matt Museum chilling we want to have a similar villager down below Manning the gift shop uh which by the way you can access uh via the buttons up here which I showed and now these buttons here

Are also attached so this closes it and of course it opens it uh both sides work the same so yeah you can hit either one to open and close that uh let’s see what else oh yeah the sides I put down some titles of books you know doc M77

Redstone life in the goats the diamond pillar Saga Hawkeye flies again perhaps an autobiography we got the Joe Hills poetry Corner I’d really like Hermits to come here and author some books for sale you know that would be a fantastic Decked Out Blueprints and secrets Ren the king a complicated

Legacy uh over here we got Cub fan135 The Man Behind the chaos and then korean’s theory of the mind right here so some interesting uh book titles and stuff you can also climb this a little bit and move around a little bit in here do a little bit of Parkour
