Well okay my friends we have got some projects to get into this episode but first of all we gotta take care of some unfinished business today we will Crown a winner of the elytra race course but first of all you may notice there’s an anvil here and there’s none of them up The top so thanks to your comments I learned that Pistons don’t actually push signs but what they can do is retract when a sign is attached and that’s what would cause it to pop off so the solution that I came up with was to Simply push the Piston we already had Out of the way so I went and made this modification also that’s really interesting I guess I got lucky here because I sent up a pulse not a continuous signal which would actually leave the sign there so when that retracts that’s when it breaks this is One of those things I love about this game there’s always something to be learned right and I don’t know if that will ever be useful but now you know you can leave the sign attached to the arm of a piston now it was jevin who fell For the Trap and he was streaming and unfortunately my idea that someone would be reading the pages of this book didn’t work out as intended I guess the other page is at the end huh you missed me uh I’m guessing that was probably dark no It wasn’t doc it was me and I failed in my attempt at ambling but look at this I made tons of diamonds from all the attempted runs and look at this an absolute ton of Hermits gave this thing a fair go and so it is Wells Knight himself returning to the server after Some time who is the Victor but there were also TCG tokens for this so jevin will receive a runner’s up prize as will Corrales as well and so we will drop off this full shulker box of oxidized copper over at Wells Knight’s base for now Though I have one thing left to do and that is to tear down this ugly and very temporary nether portal with that taken care of we can get to our projects I’ve got two really exciting ones to work on this episode and remember last time I Got sick in the middle of an episode and I commented on how I’ve been playing on the server a lot well I got tons and tons of stuff done because I was too sick to record but I could happily play hermit craft all day long oh okay we got Four hoglands here let’s just go right over the top of you this my friends is the way out to our Guardian Farm the one that we use to get skulk however you may recall I was building a second farm so one Monument two Farms it is the assume Avoid way and just over there in the distance is the the second one that I built and you can see that it’s kind of crazy looking yes I am teasing you I am warming you up for the Redstone you’re about to see it started with me goofing Around trying to come up with a faster Stone generator right a way to push multiple Stone generators into a single column because this is where the Guardians are gonna land and convert it into skulk I was quickly learning though that my ideas were not very good and ended up surmising that we need Something like this where we have multiple Stone generators as close as they can be together and then some Pistons that can push all of these into a single column but pretty quickly I learned I had no idea what I was doing so that’s when I got my red stoning Buddy cyber on the case who took up the challenge and came up with this contraption you may be thinking X that’s not Stone that’s terracotta this is just simply a way to diagnose which blocks are actually being pushed out because otherwise they will all look the same anyways this masterpiece of a redstone Contraption does something that I don’t think there’s much of a demand for in this game which is to take the regular generation of stone blocks and sort of push them into a single line which can be destroyed really quickly so when we tried to do things different in this Game we can eventually come up with Contraptions that you would otherwise never see and so we couldn’t have just one of these Stone generators but we’ve got two of them both pushing into the middle and this is the spot where the Guardians fall down and we are indeed Using a command block to get rid of the blocks here but just look at how quickly it can generate and push Stone into the middle it’s just crazy so our original Farm was great at getting us some skull blocks the stone generator though was kind of slow and so were the Guardians Using this oscillator elevator to come all the way to the top so I set out to make something better and that started with the elevator over here which just uses Soul Sand water streams going all the way up to the top so you can see the Soul Sand there the Guardians come in And they wash up to the top here and yeah now we can see that in action this thing is also five blocks wide which allows these Guardians to have a much easier time getting into the elevator and things are easier up the top too we just have a direct water stream coming Across and then dropping them down on top of our farm and if you’re very observant you might have noticed that there is no skulk sensors or catalysts being generated at the top here I believe that’s because we’ve got four blocks around the edge so some modifications might be in order but now We can fire up the machine and destroy the sculpt blocks and they will get practically instantly replaced this feels almost faster than on the test world that you saw a moment go look at this the Guardians keep dropping down and we can just keep on mashing these Out there is also a hopper Minecart that goes underneath to pick up all of the items this time though I took the time to create one of these systems where the hopper Minecart gets destroyed and the items go into storage you may also notice there’s another Minecart at the Front here if I just power this rail and sit on here and get it moving I can just sit here holding down click and farm this stuff automatically much faster than we could in the previous farm so now it’ll be a lot easier to get Guardian drops and sculpt drops too I’ve Already accumulated like a fair bit over here I did some afking and as you can see this thing is a fully fledged Guardian Farm too here’s the dealio we can improve this thing even more and yes you can see it right now look there are Guardians spawning on the outside we of Course want all of them to spawn inside of here so if I go ahead and turn on the rendering of the sphere around the player we can see where mobs will be able to spawn when we go underwater you can see there is a fair bit of space Just outside of our spawning area that the Guardians can spawn in so we have a really fascinating suggestion from a viewer in one of my live streams this is just brilliant but first of all I’m standing up here so that most the Guardians are now going to be in this Spot and that should make what I’m about to do next a little bit more peaceful we’re going to come down here underneath these blocks and place magma blocks on the bottom of the ocean Monument so what this means is that any Guardians that spawn above where these magma blocks are Will actually get pulled down onto them right and that will pull them outside of this area and cause them to despawn so by placing a whole bunch of magma blocks around the outside we can increase the spawn rates even further and so I’ve enjoyed a good old Minecraft grind going To the never collecting loads of magma blocks then placing them down on the ocean monument and so now we have something rather unique looking if you’re thinking the arrangement of these blocks looks a little bit strange when I put the overlay on like this I’m sure It’s going to start to make more sense like down the bottom here it didn’t really make sense to actually put in any magma blocks because it wouldn’t pull them underneath the radius here but the good news is it really does seem to be doing its job as I haven’t seen any Guardians well I just saw one over there it immediately disappeared as it got pulled downwards so yeah I haven’t seen them lingering around above the magma blocks and if we look at the amount of skulk that’s raging up the top here it really does feel like the rates have Increased a lot I’ve also been able to reconfigure the arrangements of blocks around the outside here my suspicion is that because I had full blocks it meant that the sculpt sensors couldn’t appear so now I’ve replaced them with some stairs and then slabs and look at this we’ve got some skulk sensors generating It’s probably a way to lay the blocks out here even better so you can get more of these sensors that might be a reason to come back to this project in the future but for now I am really happy with all of these upgrades so there you go we have successfully built another Kick-Ass sculpt Guardian farm this one obviously going to the next level and this project was just an amazing amount of fun and now we’ve got a great supply of Guardian drops and skulk ones too so that my friends was just one of two amazing projects the next one is Something located at my base that I struggled with earlier on in the season but now I can tell you that it is in fact finished I am talking about our ice farm and we can actually get there if we just go in a straight line through this Long tunnel that I dug so I have made modifications tweaks changes and fixes our ice Farm now works flawlessly and I owe a big thanks to Ren and efo who are working on a project that requires lots and lots of ice so me being me I wanted To be able to help out my fellow Hermits hello hi hey man what’s happening baby what’s happening hold on let me turn this music down nice yeah just we’re just working on boat races out here I can see I can see I brought you a gift By the way oh awesome dude what you got uh I got Ice Ice Baby Dude um oh my okay okay well when you said ice I was expecting like one shulker box wait there’s more there’s more there’s a lot oh my goodness oh this is perfect man Yeah thank you so much X that’s amazing dude and when I bumped into Ren of course I couldn’t help myself we had to play the 45 second game with Bren I’ve introduced you to this in a previous episode but it’s now a little series that’s unfolding as shorts on my YouTube Channel and what’s a shame about the one minute nature of shorts is that some of the best stuff actually happens when the game is over you know when you’re going back over those questions and having a giggle together so I introduced a new type of question with Ren and it totally Caught him off guard this was a very specific question is your favorite block Ice no red and you did great I totally lost my composure but I have a question ice isn’t your favorite block right uh I can’t remember what you said did you say yes or no Quick and confident I think I said no but that you have to answer incorrectly so ice is your favorite block no it’s not my favorite blood dang it you got me can’t believe it oh man I thought I nailed it pure gold pure gold I thought I nailed that dude with the sneaky one in the middle I I try to be so composed coming into this but like you said your name was Jeffrey that’s just gonna lost it straight away I don’t know why it was a funny name though oh that was so good thank you for Playing so yes asking a direct yes or no question seems to trip the Hermits up so we might have to try that more in the future but anyways the project that Ren and efo have been working on is a boat racing Arena a massive one because they Found a giant snowy area that has tons of ice Lakes going for it that make for natural roads so while I was hanging out with Ren we started racing back and forth across the ice on the ice tracks that they’ve built so far and we bumped Into ifo and decided to have a little race from one end to the other there he is yeah dude hey what’s going on here hey man do you want to come race we’re Racing for TCG tokens not on your side of the track nope we’re actually not racing for TCG tokens We’re Racing for Man cards okay okay we’ve got one more race to do gentlemen oh we go all the way back through Etho section stay in the boat as you come out where the Pavilion is you turn right gotta go all the way around the back back through the underground tunnel Into rain section all the way to the end don’t make sense okay yeah so X are you with us yeah I think I got it okay we ready gentlemen here we go this is for the whole deck of Man cards of course now I’m doing some track All right here we go on Boop three two one go go go go go oh I got hit by something there oh we gotta stay ahead through ethos section here no oh I know that’s the bad turn you both got in my way there oh All right I could kind of get you step five I think oh this is so cool guys like uh racing neck and neck with each other in the front there’s someone right behind me I can see oh that was a bad turn oh no this is awesome oh this is intense A few seconds ago I reckon you’ll see me in a different position yeah you’re way ahead now way oh but you hit the side here this is this is where I suffer oh no I’m gonna hit an edge the straightaways are hard I’ve got like a an awkward camera angle Here I’m sort of like off to the side of it is it a scene I’m adjusting I’m adjusting for some reason my heart is racing mind zombies on the track look out everybody oh we got something killing me oh kill him we got zombies thank you zombie thank you thank you Okay right here right here for excellent look crazy rubber banding then okay we got it gotta get into the thing out of the boat recollect the boat ah get to the next section of track oh I see wait wait oh because over here I see uh death raised two thousand no that’s Not a boat that’s a bed accidental sleep do you guys remember that game Death Race 2000 why did the racer lose the race because he took a nap laughs either that that creeper tilted you so hard dude I had to sleep I had to sleep Well only a crash is Gonna Save Me Now Ren you’ve won this right yeah nice I won because the creeper the creeper won me that race for sure dude I I had to get out there’s no way let it blow up oh that was so fun that was like a taste Of what this is gonna be so that was awesome dude so you know know what all the ice is for it’s for crafting up packed ice and blue ice but now let’s talk about how I’ve managed to fix the farm behind me so we are using quadruple Speed on the replay mod to see this Farm in action sped up in all of its Glory here I am on the AFK flying machine going across getting all of the ice and as you’ll see back here more ice is being pushed down from the flying machine up above it’s the same concept As before except this time the flying machine up above has been moved by around 10 or 11 blocks and this means the furthest that it can push ice is where you’re seeing it appear right here this solves the problem of some of the ice not being harvested which can happen Let’s say if a player logs in and some chunks get loaded and the server sort of lacks for a moment you end up with ice below where the player is harvesting and eventually that can get pushed into the water streams and then there’s all of this fanciful Redstone back here as well Well which I had to redesign it now works flawlessly and as intended and that means I can just sit on this flying machine for hours on end getting tons and tons of ice so the farm is much more reliable now the way that you get to it Though is kind of by walking through the middle of the Redstone maybe one day I’ll be able to tie that up but now you can get to the Flying Machine nice and easy and when you hit this lamp you’re gonna turn the farm on the first thing It’s going to do is activate these two observers so above them it will create a pulse with this Observer and this redstone block will turn on the Flying Machine all the way at the top there is also a lever here that can do the same thing too in case the player isn’t able To AFK they can actually just come up to this top area and mine all of the ice that’s been stored here manually and then when you’re done you can leave the flying machine up top running another one down the bottom so this other pulse that gets created activates a clock up The top here which activates our repair mechanism so inside of of here there would be experience bottles which is why I now have a shulker box full of some because I’ve been trading with paralysis Villages and those go into the dispenser right here so before you get started it Makes sure that your pick is going to be repaired for the run and so once this clock here activating that dispenser has done its thing it sends a signal down below that sets off the flying machine so you go all the way to the end and Then you come back and when you do that this little circuit here essentially detects that you’ve arrived back and creates another pulse that goes back up the top here and it means that more of those XP bottles get dispensed to repair your pick and then after it’s done that It sends another signal out again and it dispenses enough of these bottles each time to fully repair your pick which is amazing and you’ll be standing in front of the switch here so you can hit this thing again to turn the farm off and then the flying machine won’t go out Again and that my friends is what I originally have planned for this project and I struggled so much with it last time I gave up on it and then I had a new motivation to get back into this thing and I thought through all the problems and knuckled them out and now It works the only problem is it’s currently a bit of an eyesore right just floating over here in the background looking particularly odd so I downloaded a copy of the hermitcraft well put it into single player and got to work on creating a building structure to house Our ice Farm you’ll notice it is very plain because it is all built out of stone blocks I thought that would be a great canvas to put other materials onto it but it ended up looking pretty darn good just as Stone alone so we got some big fix support pillars with some arches All of that looking fantastic at the top here it’s a bit odd because things have to be disconnected for the flying machine to make its way across but we have these large Stone panels and then these sort of like hooks going over the top that the flying machine up top can Actually fly all the way through on the opposite side the structure looks as follows I think it’s a little bit better on this side but both of them look really good and then all the way at the end here you’ll notice that I’ve actually sort of sealed in where all of The Redstone is so this thing just like pushes itself out the side of the mountain now originally I wanted to go with this aesthetic right here and create something that complemented it in the background but the stone looks so good so our next experiments are to Create a world edit selection of all of this and start to replace some of the stone materials with different materials to see what we can come up with so this is all basic stuff to get a sense of the color we got prismarine right there then I tried Granite with packed mud and Bricks for Something red this is a deep slate and then we went a little bit darker with some black stone and that is just way too much of a contrast then we have the stripped warped wood dark prismarine both of those being green and then the third green one I tried with The oxidized copper blocks which we have loads of and then I went back to the stone again with andesite and light gray wool but this this one really caught my eye it’s bone blocks white wall and calcite so Stone would be the safe bet but I think going with something a Little bit more bold ambitious like all of those white blocks that you saw a moment ago would be the way to go we have got to try and go to the next level and there’s actually lots of cues and building tips that we can take from what BDubs has created over here so in the next episode we’ll do like a rundown of how to use brushes with world edit and take the build that you saw a moment ago and really try and dial it up to the next level but now though I’m going to Be spending some time getting more ice using our new farm and I also probably need to build like a shulker box loader over here since this thing absolutely pumps out the ice so yeah I hope you enjoyed today’s episode we have two major new projects up and running and in The next one we’ll be giving this thing some real treatment with some building anyway that’s it from me thanks for watching and I’ll see you next next one bye Video Information
