Hermitcraft IX 1105 Cards, Cannons, Cows & iBuy

Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of hermitcraft It’s been a minute since the last one hasn’t it I’ve been busy with the Easter break I’ve had lots of days off which I’ve really enjoyed and then we had that April Fool’s snapshot which was just incredible had so much fun covering that

I have been doing some things here on the server though first of all vintage beef set up a TCG tournament for his trading card game and I have actually played two rounds which we’re going to see at the beginning of this video but first of all I had to show you this

Long day out and about and I got home and I just hadn’t put my mind into thinking about how to play the game and I made a very bad choice early on I had netherite armor and I didn’t put it onto my hermit I started to think oh I’ll

Just put it on to the next one that I get on the board and I was playing against jevin who’s a very strong player and I kind of assumed I was going to lose anyway but jevin didn’t actually draw any hermit cards for a long time

Which kind of kept me in the game and kept me regretting that decision that I made early on because I could have knocked him out and eventually it reached the point where the cards started to come through from jevin he got lots of Hermits on the board I then

Didn’t have any more to bring out and basically he whooped my butt so a little something about me I quite enjoy being competitive but I’m not a sore loser I like winning I don’t mind losing but for me it’s when I lose against myself when I’ve let myself down that’s what really

Grinds my gears and knowing that I just made some bad decisions and jevin had the bad luck with his deck I could have knocked out his one hermit that was drawn oh it really weighed on my mind for a while but here’s the thing he incorrectly played some of his cards and

Friends are talking about the cow Farm project that I showed you and I asked for the community to get involved and we’ve got some amazing responses first of all we have a tweet from Poison pal who showed off a brilliant way to compact this down and make it super

Simple when I first saw this though I thought oh it’s not an afk-able farm right however we might be able to modify it so that the moving of The Cauldron actually takes place on a timer so this could potentially be something that we use the next tweet that we have is from

Ruby who points out that the hitbox of a fence posts can be used to keep the cows inside the contained area and stop them glitching into the walls so that is a very useful feature we can exploit and lastly we have a Contraption from Omega Muk this is a fully finished Contraption

With storage Redstone activation the ability to AFK breed the cows and I think the design is awesome just maybe a little bit on the bulky side so with these contributions I’m hoping I can engineer this thing into its final form and we can bring it on to the

Hermitcraft server now after I stopped recording I looked over in this direction and noticed that someone’s logged on and created like the absolute ultimate perfect solution look at how compact this is and it seems like it functions without issue I guess the babies get pushed into this area which

Requires an amethyst cluster for some reason that might be to stop them glitching out of the side of the wall here so they get contained by this arrangement of blocks and that makes the contraption about as compact as can be but there was two things missing and

This modifier with water below was not one of them you see I was thinking that we needed to turn this thing off and stop the cows from bobbing up and down when we were not using the farm that’s because it would impact the performance

On the server but if we just head up the top here and activate what I’ve built you might notice something which is that the vines that stop the entity cramming rule from killing cows they don’t spread down to the very bottom and therefore when the cows drift down into that space

They would take entity cramming damage and I thought I’d double check we are indeed using entity cramming this season so that was one of two additional components I thought was missing when we hit this lever here to change the water it does something else down below and if

I break this for a second you can see it there’s an observer bringing the signal down further so this sticky piston pulls in two observers to make a clock that gets transferred around the corner and it activates a dropper at the bottom here this is needed for afking at one of

These Farms because you’re going to need to restock the wheat that you have so your inventory would be filled up with all sorts of other blocks and then you would have wheat going around in a circle to refill what’s in your hand so now I’ve chucked that down there it’s

Going to make its way to the top and you can see that it’s refilling my hand but if it doesn’t do that because my hand is full it goes into the hopper at the bottom and continues going around in a loop so with this chest that we have

Here we can have a large cache for storing tons of Wheat and it seems that this this thing is perfectly in sync because this number never changes yet there’s always wheat passing through if I open the dropper you can see that it’s going around in a circle from top to

Bottom and so I need to modify this so that there isn’t actually this water dispenser here which is very simple and then we need to get some cows inside of it you can see I’ve wrangled some up and they’re ready for breeding and one very last thing to mention is that because

We’re going to put so many cows in there to make this thing super powerful I’ve deliberately picked a place where it doesn’t load anyone else’s base or farms nearby it’s between mine and hypnose base I believe and yes nothing else gets loaded so what would you know some

Delightful changes have been made we have compacted the wheat dispenser to this okay hardly any Redstone whatsoever it kind of hit me that something like this might be useful it could just be put onto the corner of the farm with the player sort of standing here to pick up

The week but it has a big flaw and that is that the hopper ends up being the limit for the amount of wheat you can store inside of this thing so once again I showed our master redstoneer so I bought this little idea that I had that

I had attached to the side of this thing and then he compacted it somewhat but timed the Redstone perfectly so that now you can store way more wheat inside of this thing and so we’ve done it we’ve literally built a new type of Super Ultra compact cow Farm but we just gotta

Get those cows inside of it now and you know you’ve got enough cows where you can tear through an entire stack of wheat breeding their numbers up so I’ll give it 20 minutes for these cows to grow up and we’ll put them inside and no

You are not cows you’re gonna mess up my plan by getting in this pen so the plans for a time lapse of me breeding these cows and then showing you the results but sometimes what you do in creative mode just has quirks to it that don’t manifest the same way in survival like

They’re bobbing up and down in the water but when I hold down right click they’re like grouped up on the same so I’m clicking on the same one over and over again if you just look at how they’re bobbing you can see exactly what’s going on there this however might

Be because I added a slab down the bottom here and I did that to try and stop them from suffering from entity cramming damage I got a lot of cows in here before I realized that tons of them were dying again when you do stuff in

Creative and you put the cows into the pen that way it all works out but when you try and do it in survival it’s not quite the same so as we can see though that that slab fixed thing so that’s pretty cool now what seemed to be the

Problem is that when the cows go into the water that’s when they die at the entity cramming so after a while I stopped putting more cows into there we’ve got some left if I come up with a solution for this but for now I just

Want to use the farm and get some cooked meat and I’ve certainly gotten that however we’ve also gotten a lot of raw beef too you see I made a modification I decided to double up the size of this thing but it’s only just now that I

Realize I forgot to add in the lava cauldrons and with the cows in there I think it’s going to be impossible to replace anyways with a doubled up chamber the idea would be that there’s more room for the cows to wiggle around but it doesn’t seem to be so there’s

Always this one that sticks his head out at the top being extra obnoxious and so you’re clicking on its hitbox instead of all of the rest so all in all a floor project really still needs a lot of work but hey at least I had fun messing

Drive-by sales I could get for my things right so I’m not really charging like rent or anything like that I’m just gonna give you some space in fact I actually built out the third floor just for you and you can have the higher floor to yourself if it feels like uh

You could use it so if I understood you’re not charging me for moving in there’s there’s no monthly fee for having the floor and you take a cut of the diamonds nope not at all that is that is generous my friend and then I guess we both benefit from bringing more people here

You put another one of those on and exactly and there’s a little circuit in the back there that you can see the color coded wall uh and that is what controls which floor gets selected can you put those at any height you like then so if if you needed a big gap
