How COLORBLIND People See Minecraft

Exist in real life and seeing what they might look like in Minecraft now personally I have been blessed with normal color vision that is known as trichromatic color vision you can see down in the little bar below me that you can get some stats on the amount of

People that are affected by namely 99.5% of females and 92% of males are all gonna be seeing this video just like this with full-blown color vision however there are various different types of colorblind that affect the colorblind there’s 8 every version we’re covering in today’s video and you’re

Into our first version which by the way you want to grab this for yourself it’s known as Alvarez colorblind simulator and it’s actually a shader pack that you can apply to your minecraft 1.8 version of the game just by pressing super secret settings we’re gonna start scrolling through all the different

Types of colorblindness and the first one that we’ve got for you today is known as Deuter anomaly this is shifted green light perception it affects point 4 percent of females and 6 percent of males so a good amount of males are affected by this now no F 5 because

Every time I do that it actually turns off the toggle but we do have a button that will allow us to toggle between each of the different color versions so again here’s trichromatic and here’s what happens when Deuter anomaly is put into place Oh a lot greener on everything what

We’ve got right here is hue magnets resource pack test world filled with all sorts of biomes so that we can see at a glance what all these different color blindness is look like so why don’t we start with our guardian temple right over here blue and lush and when a toggle on our

First version of Deuter anomaly and as you can see here the prism erine goes gray almost instantly whereas the ocean kind of stays the same we’ve got the villages looking extremely yellow green not really any sort of reds it any longer in fact look look at these this

Is what the this is what what the heck color is that okay that is the yellow one well here’s what Red’s look like reds look more of an orange than anything and even the greens kind of take on the exact same shade oh man that is a huge difference you think

That’s better look at the nether over there almost all the red when we toggle it off is completely wiped away with the Deuter anomaly type of colorblindness Wow all the oranges from the lava they just look green and wow this is crazy like I’m so thankful that I have my

Vision in play like hold on a second okay well the end desert really change it all but the end stone blocks kind of get more of an orange or tint to them what about these guys ooh huge difference holy moly wow we got a whole the domestic biomes over here

That we could show an example of but I think it’s important that we get to all the different types of colorblindness so we’re to switch over to the next one right now this next one is deuteron Opia and it’s green deficient red-green color blindness affecting 0.1% of females and

One percent of males and it’s basically another version of Deuter anomaly except in some instances a lot more emphasized in its lack of red-green shift of vision now look at these color changes again a lot more oranges instead of reds and a lot more just greens and pale yellows

Instead of various other colors here we got the villages over there doing their day we’re gonna move down further so we can see what’s over here now again look at this difference in forest look how lush this jungle forest is normally and then with deuteron Opia the color blight

Oops I just met yes deuteron Opia a lot more orange in nature especially compared to what the jungles normally look like like honestly look at this just deficiency in color there’s no green anywhere I’d like don’t see like Cara Lee any grits all oranges like is

It even it’s like a brown look at this poor flower field it looks like it’s been neglected of watering it’s awful here’s read desert is like a sandstone red Mesa desert with the red sand now look at what red normally looks like right here look at the hot bar this

Is the normal color that you would actually see in Minecraft if you didn’t have any sort of colorblind deficiencies whereas when we need to put it back off look ooh that’s huge do Dora no Pia coming in with the punishments look at this flower field it’s so lovely and one toggle away

And it all kind of looks like this ooh actually the blue stand there really nice in this next up we’ve got proud anomaly this one effects point zero three percent of females and one percent of males and this is a shifted red light perception so again kind of similar to

The previous couple where it’s a green light ship you can see a bigger difference now where this doesn’t look as orange if anything it looks like a little more yellowish and if we were again take off the toggle this is what the actual colors of all these biomes

Looks like again toggled on toggled off on and off the lovely light blue sky instantly gets more of a magenta feel like purple almost well interesting we’re gonna go ahead and put it back on once more and you can kind of see how everything just gets a little bit more

What’s desaturated is the best way to do like I’m reminded of video editing so we’re not editing this you know via video it’s actually my actual toggle like I said you can download now look at the difference in red here Wow all red is instantly wiped away even the water

Cut has a slight the slightest little change whereas with the pro nominally enabled you can see that the water gets a little bit darker mycelium goes from being this nice purple and pink into just the grayscale just it just turns gray again some of the biomes they don’t

Appear to be too affected by the end is kind of not really a bit touched just yet even the net well no actually no there’s pretty lust you look at the difference wow yeah huge color difference between these guys come on the witches hunt oh wow it like blends right in with the

Trees around it compared to when you don’t have this on man it merely makes me miss all the greens that you normally see in Minecraft like even these crops they just look so much more lovely why you still get some green in here you just can’t see nearly as much as you

Normally would be able to and where are these supposed to are these potatoes no that’s okay so these are potatoes what karates I gotta find me some carrots are the carrots over here yeah these are the carrots so here’s what carrots look like with protein ah Wow I every talk about

Carrots right now something else now here’s the final village and I think it’s time for us to actually switch over to our other and next type of color – this next setting is called protanopia again similar prone anomoly it’s just a bread deficient red-green color blindness so instead of being shifted

It’s an actual deficiency where you’re seeing a whole lot less if you thought you weren’t seeing the colors before you’re seeing even less now look at these crops not even a glimpse of anything remotely what we were looking at a second ago color-wise found within them all orange

Is wiped into full orange all greens turned into full orange even though I mean really look at the poor grass it’s so drab and the villages with their lush green eyes they now completely disappeared you see that he like completely disappeared this is what the villagers normally look like they got

Great green eyes you got the nice blue sky you put on protanopia and suddenly you’re looking at something a little bit different now this affects point zero two percent of all women and 1 percent of all males and again you can kind of see the color bar at the bottom of the

Screen that gives you an idea of the color spectrum that is capable of being seen if you are affected with protanopia look at these villages oh my gosh the desert once seemed most unaffected but if anything the crops stand out a little bit further when they’re all just one

Shade of like orange yellow Brown again the delight blue turquoise looking temples missing a lot of their color what we’re seeing is a whole bunch of yellows some greens the slice a little bit of green and blue but look over here almost all of the red items instantly

Became grayscale instantly in the nether Oh Lee whoa think of the difference in look at that whoa the portal you’re the portal looks sick we got a blue portal Wow hey hey oh that looks nice except you can’t see any other colors if you have this type of color by a shape but

With the port yeah those really oh the poor I’m telling those portals that’s good stuff right there except the green lava but yeah look at these differences in colors the poor red mushrooms no longer the case looks like these guys are mostly unaffected slight tin just makes

It look a little bit greener if anything the entire lush green yellow forest if it was now it’s yellow before it was green in fact most again most greens have now been shifted over to be a yellow and there’s no red to be found anywhere whereas most of the Blues

Have actually survived this little colorblindness color deficiency changed poor flower fields man it just honestly makes me so grateful to have that I have my vision the way I do could you imagine seeing all of Minecraft like this like shout out to the people that got to deal

With this like I feel free man look at the difference it’s so what’s lovelier I mean I mean life is nice we UHN if you do have protanopia but you know just lilies colors up next to strident Opia interesting is the blue green colorblindness it’s affected by

Zero 1% of all males and all fema’s only 0.1 what you’re seeing is a whole bunch of red start to come back into play here you can see a whole bunch more of your red colors but what you’re only gonna be seeing pretty much is reds and blues

There’s some slight teals and the slightest little bits of greens in between but for the most part this is all red colors and blue coasts look at the difference in biome diversity when you have Triton Opia look at the change in colors can you believe this is what

The flower field looks like without any deficiencies with it well there’s a cloud without with without with wow everything just turns blue right away the sunflower fields they look drab it’s almost like it’s winter everything is in winter on this side except the desert I mean the death is still pretty red but

Point is almost all colors except blue and red are completely missing from Triton Opia is people you know people that are affected with it their line of vision nothing all these greens goodbye instantly although I really like this come and you’re like an enchanted forest almost like I’ve seen biomes that look

Like this in Minecraft now the nether finally gets some of its red luster back except all the things in between are affected as well glowstone kind of looks pink when you’ve got Triton opieop now the lava looks real nice still what’s the boy look like we get the border

Looks like ooh portal just looks like a greyish red ooh looks kind of evil like it’s like double evil extra evil what about the river ooh I really like the color that the river the water here looks like a very teal turquoise like almost like an aqua if anything now

We’ve got ourselves a desert villages over here making their way here’s what it looks like with tri-chromatic and then again try nope yep ooh look at look at the crops Wow alien food alien look it’s all blue ooh nice kinda reminds me of like 3d glasses a little bit

We had like that one red one blue lens this is kind of like what I’m seeing right now except just naturally found in Minecraft using these different shader pack yikes the ocean a completely different color blue compared to normal and luma finally gets to keep most of

Its color the prismarine it gets a little bit bluer of anything but it gets to keep a lot of that green that was originally found there or you know at least it gets close enough now again like with the rest of the colorblindness is there’s not only Deuter anomaly and

Deutero pia and and pronominal in protanopia well then in addition to tried no pia there’s tried anomaly and i for recovery right now so this is what tried anomaly looks like this is affecting Oh point zero one percent of all males and females and if anything it

Looks kind of the closest thing we’ve had to try chromatics almost looks like it’s an actual fader from minecraft gives everything a slightly more what orange feel now again it’s kind of it’s it’s close so we’ll go with this close here’s what it looks like without with

The trichromatic back in to play the blue is a lot more heavy of a blue whereas this looks very aqua like I like this color water as well this one looks nice over here everything looks like it gets a little bit more of an orange tint

To it it looks like the blue spectrum according to the bar that you’re seeing at the bottom is a lot wider compared to normal vision here so you’re seeing a lot more blue stand out and the oranges seem to stand a little bit better as well again here’s what villages look

Like whoo you’re the crops look kind of dead in this version comparatively speaking look look at that just differences in color like ooh so much more vibrant when the trichromatic but I kind of like how this looks I mean perfectly honest like this looks really

Nice I’m a fan I mean I’m glad I don’t have to choose between this having this all the time I’m glad I could just press a button and turn everything back normal look at the nether over here here’s what the nether looks like again portal is a great place to judge it

Looks like it’s a lot more of a gray than the normal colored nether portal where this is just in your fades purple over here looks a little bit more tame you can kind of see the difference is there and you can still see all your red

You can still see the greens you can still see in fact what are we really missing I think yellows are we missing yellow yeah it looks like everything that was all yellow before is closer to a Bourne slash pink magenta ish where before it’s just boom we got yellow boom no yellow

Yellow okay now what about the sunflower field you see if I’m not mistaken they’re gonna all turn like orange you see yeah everything got orange instantly although I’ve really liked the changes to blues like blues look lovely with this version of colorblindness in play again uh-huh not trying to offend

Anybody I’ll just say like this is this is an experience you can experience what it’d be like to have these color deficiencies look at the differences here man there’s people that like walk around and they see this every single day yeah that’s something else now what you’re

About to see is what most people think colorblind people see this is a chroma tosya this is monochromatic vision and this affects 1 in 33,000 people this is what you guys were thinking what’s gonna happen huh this is just full blown greyscale for the most part you’re not

Really seeing any sort of color whatsoever it’s all just gray and blacks and whites and you’re not really seeing anything else Lois all color just completely sucked away from the world this is like yeah I read you’re probably looking at my FaceCam right now you still see a little bit of color it’s

Like the shining bacon this is a little bit of color by I mean whatever my background happens to be in honestly I could probably use a little bit more sunlight looking kind of pale lately leave a difference Wow people have to deal with this oh I’d be heartbroken seriously this is not

Good at all the poor villagers just living in the grayscale life how do you all make do why would you eat your crops when they look like this thank goodness only one of 33,000 people are affected by this I couldn’t handle it honestly I could not handle it but

For our final type of coal our vision we’re gonna be showing you a little bit of an in-between between a chroma top SIA and trichromatic and this last one is a chroma Tomy vision this is reduced color vision this is extremely rare now I couldn’t tell you what extremely rare means we don’t

Have an actual number on it but this is basically an in-between of grayscale aka what we were just looking at and trichromatic like you can see all colors it’s just everything as heavily the saturated comparatively speaking again here’s what minecraft normally looks like you can see you got a nice glimpse

Of everything here’s the difference you still see all the different color types even the Reds the red still pop out they just don’t pop out nearly as much everything just has like a gray filter placed all over all these different visions oh my goodness it really makes
