How Hololive Changed Amelia Watson’s Life

Hololive’s Amelia Watson didn’t always have an easy life. Before she joined Hololive’s first generation of English talent, she spent most of her life caring for somebody else and when they weren’t here anymore, she felt like she had lost her purpose.

To cope with this loss, she spent all of her time playing video games as they were the only thing that brought her happiness. She joined Hololive in September 2020, which is a year she’s described as the best and worst year of her life.

By joining Hololive English, she was able to spread the joy and happiness she got from playing video games to her millions of people around the world. Reaching over 1.7 million youtube subs and over 1.2 million Twitter followers. Hololive changed her life, and she changed Hololive too.

During her time in Hololive, she has pioneered a lot of things and worked behind the scenes to push Hololive even further as the leading VTuber company. And in this video, I will look at some of the amazing things Ame has done and how they have impacted the Hololive community.

One of Amelia’s finest moments was when she hosted a charity stream on June 5th 2021. The charity she chose was the “Best Friends Animal Society” as she’s a known lover of animals. She set the goal at $15 thousand and promised to match all donations up to that number.

She didn’t think it would be easy to reach such a high goal, so she set different mini-goals with different rewards for the stream such as playing different games and special events. However, things did not go to plan. Once she started up the stream the community had already donated almost $50 thousand.

After the full 9 hour long event, playing Overwatch, Minecraft, and BPM along the way. Ame had raised over $230 thousand. This was an incredible moment of the community coming together to raise money for a great cause, and none of it would be possible without the hard work of Amelia Watson.

Since most Hololive VTubers are 2D, it’s usually a huge deal when they debut in 3D. They will have an elaborate set made, with unique props, and a whole team working behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly.

But because of the pandemic, it wasn’t possible for the Holomyth members to travel to Japan to have their 3D debuts. So Amelia decided to combine her technical know-how and her strong community ties to take it into her own hands.

It was actually one of the goals in her charity stream to have a 3D VR stream. She used a fan made model based on Walfie’s smol Ame design. The stream was a huge success. People praised her taking initiative and her openness to working with members of the community.

I also erthink it was pretty genius to go with the Smol Ame design, because not only is it beloved by the fans it also still leaves anticipation for the official 3D stream which wouldn’t happen for over a year after this. People still had a lot to wonder and get excited about.

It didn’t step on covers toes so to speak. It wasn’t just this stream though. Ame helped push all of Holomyth into 3D for their 1st anniversary. Ame worked with Walfie again, SeaFoamBoi, as well as the team behind VR Chat to make this happen. They also created themed rooms for each member.

After this, she also worked with some new contributors to a Halloween themed stream, as well as models for the Hololive council members. This team of talented 3D artists and VR developers would go on to become “HoloEN VR Studios”. The team also produced Smol Calli’s concert as well as Kiara’s birthday concert which

Was recorded at Amelia’s house, where she built a full VR studio. Amelia’s embrace of the community really sets her apart from most Hololive members. Who else would create an avengers style team of designers, modelers, and developers to work on their projects?

She embraced things like Walfie’s smol Ame models and helped them become some of the most iconic designs in all of VTubing. She also embraced the Smol Ame fangame which would go on to be played by a ton of different vtubers. It’s safe to say that she changed Hololive forever.
