All right um I’m glad you enjoyed my April Fool’s video I started making this back in January a couple of weeks after Carmyle verified the original level and it was a blast to make I had a lot of fun and it’s totally doable for the average person in my opinion so today I Thought we would take a quick look at how I did it and how you could maybe do something similar yourself pretty cool Start off with the normal level this footage is missing the icon because it makes it easier to record but just pretend it’s there remove all the spikes in the level since those don’t exist in Minecraft remove all non-essential objects from the level like air deco arrows triggers as well as making all The slopes invisible so those don’t poke out behind stairs or slabs later on set the background to a plain color don’t use green because cue portals and green orbs are green change the object color to match the background and remove the glow around those objects remove the background particles and place motion Trackers at the very end of the screen and after that all you got to do is record it key out the purple and you’ve got some transparent footage of your level now originally I made cubes and texture them myself but I quickly realized this took way too long and did Not allow me to use a Minecraft seed at world with trees and caves luckily there are people way smarter than me who have made minecraft to 3d model converters so it decided to use one of those which meant I also got to play some minecraft this part is pretty Self-explanatory it’s just one doc in GD equals spawn block in Minecraft and then adding some stuff to make it look nice next grab your phone and point it out your monitor because your computer will not be able to handle importing an entire Minecraft world in 3d while also recording but here it is First import the transparent footage scale it to match the Minecraft world then track the movement of those markers we set earlier on parent that movement to the footage and the camera do the linear X movement manually move the camera a tiny bit forward to crop out those markers and that’s pretty much it There are some details left out from this like setting up proper lighting fixing animated materials like water and lava and making the nether transition but I’m not going to go over that in detail right now of course there’s no flaw still like the jittering portals sometimes my computer can’t handle a Recording GD for some reason so drops a couple of frames here and there which also means it can’t track the movement for those missing frames so you end up with that jittering you also get those black bars that are especially noticeable during ball segments I tried removing them at one spot but I Don’t think it ended up looking good at all but as you’ve seen this is a very flexible process and you can make a level out of anything not just Minecraft and yeah that’s about it if you have any questions leave them down in the comments I’m going to try to Answer as many as I can if I don’t answer yours I’ve probably answered it somewhere else in the comments just scroll a bit further yeah thanks for watching if you want to check out this bonus clip of me revealing this to a live stream I did on April 1st you can watch that and yeah wash your hands please Video Information
