How to Build A Huge PvP Battle Arena in Minecraft

Hey everyone and welcome to another how to boo in Minecraft head today this episode is going to be well it’s gonna be a kind of a a big build so it kind of would be a big bill today’s episode is going to be a battle arena I I wanted to

Show you guys how to build one for a while but they’re they’re quite massive and I was thinking you know what I should probably build one from scratch but I remembered um this is my first minecraft world that I built right here if you can see it it’s like a village it

Was like a shopping mall over there there’s a giant spongebob then I got this like lab over here and then I built this arena this crazy big PvP battle arena and I think I want to show you guys how to or how I built mine I know

There’s a ton of them out there and everybody has their own take on what a battle arena should look like but this one’s mine so give me one second guys let me go over to my flat world and I’m going to show you guys how to build it

And if you guys noticed it has an observation tower in the center over here and it does have bleachers on the sides as well and then walkways on the outside kind of like a I kind of made it look resemble like the Colosseum in in Rome a little bit I mean it’s not

Nowhere near to scale but I did give it my best so let me switch over to my flat world’s dude and I’ll show you guys how I built this alright dudes we are back in our how-to world so I can really got to fix that bush alright so let’s get on

And find a good location I haven’t really scouted out where I want to build this but I guess we really have pretty unlimited areas but I kind of want to keep it close to our our little village here maybe on this side over here I mean

Find a good spot guys I’ll be right back alright guys I think we’re going to build like right here next to our little tree farm over here it’s nice big flat area I might have to close off this road over here but whatever we can worry about that later

Right now let’s just move this walk that an Enderman probably moved over and yeah so these are the blocks that we’re gonna oh shoot I had the blocks already saved in my previous world but obviously they’ll start going to carry over so I need chisel stone nether fence

I need iron doors quartz slabs quartz stairs quartz you know what I like to build with quartz I’m going to use some iron as well oops let’s go ahead and fill this all up into our inventory okay so I have all the stuff that we need we’re going to

Start off with our good old friend quartz block we’re going to use some iron block some chisel courts and some quartz pillar that’s going to be the gist of it to start off our ideas I think we’re going to do is we’re gonna actually put the center of the Colosseum

Like right here in the middle of this road because I think it’s going to go off in either direction quite away so we’re going to actually put this here one and we’re going to go one two three four I’m already messing up hello two three four five and six that’s gonna be

That one two three four five and six then here it’s going to kind of go it’s going to go in a little bit one two three four and five and then again one two three four five then it will be 1 2

3 1 2 3 then 1 2 and 1/2 ok said it’s gonna be big dudes so this is going to go back again so we have 1 2 1 2 and then it’s going to go 1 2 3 this is the third one here and then it’ll do the

Same thing here 1 2 3 and then it’ll do the 5 again 4 and 5 and then one more 5 1 2 3 4 5 like so and then we’re going to do the 11 again 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

11 right there right and then we’ll go 1 2 3 4 I hope I didn’t mess that up I’m like I should count that because to recreate this ginormous circle it’s going to take a long time 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 nine ten a little bit good all right we

Got that down all right so got five there I’m going to do another five one two two three four and five and then we’re going to go one two three and then it’s okay that the ground is hollow underneath it it’s going to be like I

Said it’s going to be all filled in with this Court’s anyway one two three I’m going to repeat this pattern a couple more times and I’ll come back around it will start up them on the next step right dudes you we’re five and we did it alright that’s

Our giant circle and mind you this is just the inside of the Colosseum this does not include the walkways on the outside the walkways on the outside are going to come out another want I think one one two three four the walkway plus one for the outside wall so four more

Blocks all the way around it’s going to require a lot of material so if you’re going to build this thing in survival guys um I would by suggest using some kind of stone and not quartz because I don’t think that there’s any nether in any world that’s going to have this much

Nether quartz in order for you to build this I mean you might get one row ahead of it maybe two that’s about it but you’re definitely not going to build the entire thing at another quartz unless you do it and create it alright so the next step is going to be our chiseled

Chiseled quartz and that’s going to be my first row and then it’s going to be pillar and then it’s going to be chiseled again and that’s how I kind of want mine want my thing to go look how big I know you’re not gonna help so you

Don’t need to do anything in the way all right ba ba piggy all right so we’re going to build like I said we’re going to add this like so and we’re going to hopefully get this done pretty quickly at least it’ll appear so when I’m done

With editing I like this area here I wanted these I really wanted a flat world to build on but I really wanted all the character of a not flat world of a standard world so I added all these uh lakes and everything oh my goodness

We’re at the edge of the world I’m glad we didn’t go too much further Wow okay I’m on my xbox 360 dudes so I don’t have as much world to build on when I’m doing my my how-to videos are all on the 360 it’s in another room so the kiddos can

Still watch TV and play games actually I think they’re playing rocket league right now and we’re going to be doing a rocket league video as well I don’t know how good it’s going to turn out but we’re certainly going to give it a go it’s a pretty fun game

And my my friends list I just noticed is pretty full of you guys so thank you it’s uh it’s pretty cool I might time-lapse some of this or I might just skip ahead I’m not certain okay so again the floor here I should probably get a speed pot where is the

Speed potion speed to is going to work if I don’t know if you guys have done this before but when you’re building and creative building with a speed pot it increases your speed quite drastically and it does help when you’re doing these big old filling areas

I wish they did what they were doing with a 1.10 1.10 for Minecraft for the PC they have this thing called structure blocks and they’re really awesome I did a video on them a few weeks ago I think was a few weeks ago and you’re basically

Able to copy and paste bits of building so you could build like a quarter of this building and copy and paste it three more times and have an entire building I just wanted something this massive it takes so long to build that I don’t know how you would show the entire

Build I’ve seen people do like one in two our builds on on YouTube but how many people actually watch the entire thing I’m just curious of when it comes to these ginormous builds I mean unless it’s something very very intricate like redstone or you have to watch every

Single bit of it a lot of this stuff you can really wing and do yourself I’m trying to kind of put your own twist on it and you probably won’t watch an entire video hey I know how to build a castle or hey I know how to build a

House I just want an idea even even my how-to videos I’m sure a lot of you do is just watch like the initial part of it and start off and go oh I can do that alright then you take off and go play which I know Liam does that to all the

Time he’s starts off watching a video and then realizes hey I want to go play slither io or hey I want to go play a super super mechs or whatever it is and ends up taking off and playing and then coming back and watching the rest

Of the video but that’s that’s just Lee and he loves YouTube so I’m as do I don’t get me wrong I really do love love watching YouTube videos more than TV I really don’t like watching a whole lot of TV and watch watch television shows at night I’m usually with mommy HD maybe

One or two shows and then then it’s just YouTube for the rest of the night really so really I really like all the creative content people put out there TV has become so predictable of all the stuff that goes on it so just repeat at the same show with a different name every

Single time a new show comes out except for some of the more creative cartoons like you know Adventure Time and stuff like that a spongebob where they’re a little more on the creative side and they put their own twist on things where television shows I won’t name any of the TV shows

Because I’m sure some of them are really good and some of you guys really like the TV shows but a lot of a lot of them honestly seem like it’s the same plot repeated over and over over again hey sheep you’re not going to help either once you grab some blocks and start

Building dude you’re gonna hang out freeloader but if you’re gonna be in the way you’re gonna get dead I can promise you but yeah dudes that’s enough of my my TV rant obviously we actually did away with TV look like proper TV probably about three years ago and we

Just mostly do like Netflix and Hulu and Amazon and stuff like that and the kids seem to be alright with most of it and then the rest of it is just YouTube or a video game play whatever some of our friends come over oh wait you don’t have

TV well we have TV we just don’t have cable I know a lot of people can’t live without their their favorite shows and I lost one of mine too when we did that but honestly it was well worth it I got so tired of 200 channels of nothing it

Just didn’t make any sense you end up spending more time hunting around for something that you’re not going to watch and actually watching TV and most of the stuff you can catch online anymore anyway all right guys I’m gonna probably skip this ahead because I’m sure you

Guys are not going to want to watch me lay floor down for the next 10 minutes all right dude so we finished the floors now I’m going to do of the the column portion of this and this is going to go up a total of I believe eight blocks

Including this this bottom portion and the top as well so it’s going to be one block of the chiselled and we’re going to go six blocks of the column so that’s going to go all the way around something like this you’re kind of give you an

Idea what it’s going to look like it’s one two oops that’ll be three rows and give this for like I said it’s got to be big because it’s got to have room for you know full-on battle so so this is going to be the wall that’s on the inside when

You’re walking around that’s going to be what you’re going to see when you’re walking through the corridors and on the inside of your what you call it I know it looks a little bit striped but honestly I think it looks pretty cool but anyway I was going to do every other

One like a solid like this the thing it will look more like columns but I think that I’ll take way too long so we’re just going to do we’re just going to do the pillars all the way around and that’s how I get into my original one

That I built in my other world so let me go ahead and build this up and I’ll I’ll fast forward this part as well so you can like I said you’re going to build all all the way around the entire thing is going to be this exact same pattern

All the way through and we’ll punch a few holes in for doors and and whatnot you know at the very end our ideas that’s the that’s the wall portion of it now I’m going to do the the outside the outside is going to be roughly about the same type of thing

Again like I said it’s going to go out four blocks on the outside here it’s going to go 15 then I go 5 5 3 that’s going to go 1 1 1 1 and then 3 and then 5 again 5 again and then 15 again that’s

How it’s going to it’s going to go for the outside edge so it’s going to do that we’re going to repeat this pattern all the way around let me get this all filled in dudes and I’ll get it I’ll get right back to you guys so I I’m making

These up I just notice I’m talking like far away from the mic I’m making these columns kind of come out and we’re going to separate these by four over here on this side and we’re going to put one column here we’re not going to put any arches on the outside over here only

Because it’ll be too awkwardly shaped and we’re just going to make those solid walls like I did in my in my map earlier I’m you can get rid of this one block right here just to make it a little more even would probably look nice nicer that

Way so you’ll have the five there you have the five there and then it’ll be four here I mean you can really if you wanted to add one more here just to make the arches a little more even you could but I think it’s going to look less of a

Circular shape when I’m done so I’m going to leave these the way they are and I’m the reason why I’m not using the columns on the outsides here though this these are actual columns they’re gonna actually be archways they’re not going to be columns when they’re done so that

I think they’re gonna look more more appropriate as solid block and I am gonna get rid of this one block here so these are going to be 13 on the outside here not not 15 when they’re done when I’m done all the way around and I’m going to bring this in what like

I said we’re going to be repeating this shape all the way through so we have to kind of fill this all in anyway this whole area here is going to be all filled in when it’s all said and done so it’s going to be filled in on top though

So it’s going to kind of go like this oops will be like this and it’s going to come out a little bit for the bleachers for the bleachers overhang from the Coliseum themselves and the bleachers kind of come out on the back side over here so

Not as much of them kind of go towards the front they cantilever towards the back a bit where the walkway is so so yeah so let me go ahead and build these up I’m going to show you guys what the arches are going to actually look like

When we’re done as well I’ll do one set of them really quickly on a second okay so that that looks cool already but the arches are going to be really big so we’re going to make them we’re going to go one two and three on either

Side one two and three like that and then we’re going to take the stairs we’re going to put upside down stairs there there oops there there and there and then that weird spot in the center right there we’re going to do is we’re going to put

A half slab there and it’ll look more more appropriate like it’s supposed to or we can even put a full block there actually I think I think that’ll look yeah that looks way way nicer uh with a full block there I wish there was a way to make like full-blown arches out of

These but there really isn’t I mean I guess we could too if we really wanted to just this portion here one two and three and we can make these column like this that does look kind of cool actually now that I’m looking at it one

Loops you can go back to this put that there like that and then we can actually do one chiselled I know I don’t have Cola beauty – okay and then we can do one there and that looks kind of cool actually it looks like their columns holding up the pieces there does look

Pretty sick actually oh yeah we’ll do that actually I know it’s more work but but we may do it towards the end as opposed to doing it right now right now I think I just want to just fill in all this all the areas so that way the

Structure itself is complete and we can kind of do the decorations towards the the end there so we’re going to fill that one in right yeah we’re going to fill that in and then we’re going to put stairs there there there and there and that’s essentially what the outside

Is going to look like that looks really cool I really like it I don’t don’t mind this pole that’s what I was standing on to kind of show by the progress as a might kind of like a checkpoint where I was standing to show the progress of the

Build as it’s coming along okay so let’s do this let’s try to do the same thing over here this one’s going to be a little bit more awkward because of its positioning so we’re going to put one there and one there and then one there and there that’s going to look really

Weird but it’s what we have to do to make these bends in the in the building but it’s okay so again we’ll do a step there we’ll do a step there and we’re going to match it up actually right there as well I think that’ll look more

Uniform and then we may actually do a separate column on the inside here just to kind of like this and probably like this or does that look weird I’m not sure if I like that I think I’m gonna remove that but I’m going boom yeah like that

It looks awkward from here but from the outside it should look fun yeah the outside looks alright if I did this yeah that looks way better okay so we basically the column portion is on the inside there as opposed to the outside it still looks right the one over here

Is not going to have that center piece it’s just going to be kind of staggered so we’re going to go one two and then we’ll do the same thing here one two and then there and then this side here is going to just be stairs but they’re

Going to be all on the all on this it’s not going to have that center piece but that other one has the five bit ones that have the five pieces separating them see what I’m saying so let me go ahead and decorate these with these are with this chiseled quartz just to kind

Of make it all match and see what the our end result is going to be what that does look really cool I really like that okay I really should turn off notifications if you told myself that I never do and there we go so that’s what the the

Outside columns are going to look like and let me go ahead and finish up the rest of them and then the outsides over here are going to be just solid a solid block and these are going to go all the way up all the way to the top right here

And it’s just going to wrap around until we get back around to the five block separations that are over over here once we get back over here then we’re back to where we were a minute ago this area here and then this area here and then

Like I said we’re going to break that one off there I’m going to break it off some there and there and there and then the rest of it is just going to be solid all the way around we’re going to kind of repeat the same pattern over

And over again I know it’ll take a while deeds but it’s well worth it because when the end result is just going to be sick ideas now we need to build a top deck of the Colosseum and I know this is going to be a little bit of a tedious I

Don’t like I said this is a massive build so starting from the outside here we’re not going to really count we’re just going to fill that in we’re going to start from here we’re going to go one two three four and then five and then

Along here if you want to find Center on one of these here let me show you so this is going to be Center right here one two three four five and then we’re going to go out one two three on either side one two three and then four and

Then bring it out one and then four and then bring it out one then we’re going to go one two three four and then one two three four and one two three and then one two three and then we can do the same thing from

This side here and it’s best to kind of do them from the from the Centers of each one that way you know you’re lining them up properly and then you can just fill in the rest one two three four five one two three four

Bring it out 1 1 2 3 4 bring it out 1 and then we’re going to repeat the same patter 1 2 3 so you have 4 their total and go 1 then 1 2 3 again for their total then 1 2 3 and then 1 2 3 I’m

Going it on this side and that way it will repeat the same pattern that we just did on over here and they should just connect so we’re going to go 1 2 3 4 there and 1 2 3 and 4 so you have 4

Blocks there and loops 1 2 3 and then 1 2 & 3 so that’s how they’re going to go so it’s going to go nine blocks four blocks four blocks three blocks three blocks then the same thing here nine blocks 4 4 3 3 and then you can have

This weird jog in the center here you’re going to place one stone right there so it’ll look like 2 & 2 I think going to repeat that over and over again until they’re all connected all the way around and we’re going to fill this all in with

More more quartz you guys can use whatever materials you want I’m just using quartz because I really like the way it looks it looks very majestic to me so it looks like more more like the Coliseum that I remember seeing in in Rome and trying to kind of portray that

Coliseum in this I know again it’s nowhere near the scale and doesn’t have any of the underground stuff or any of that cool cool part but it does have the characteristics of what the Coliseum used to look like I guess and that’s what what to me when I hear battle arena I hear

I see the Colosseum in Rome that’s what I see in my mind and again I’ve seen a bunch of really cool ones online I’m sure he’s gonna Liam Sims seen some really cool ones online all right so let’s just go ahead and fill this in real quick guys and I’ll get right back

To you ok all right dudes don’t got that all filled in I’m really only having one entrance to to the Colosseum so I’m blocking off the rest so that way mobs and stuff don’t don’t come in you don’t have to do this part I just tend to because again I only wanted one

One entrance to to my Coliseum on the other side I kind of finished off with stairs I’ll show you what I did there in just a second so let me go ahead and fill these in dudu I’m using a nether what we call it another fence post only

Because I think it looks against the nicest compared to the the courts it kind of matches it really well it accents a lot I mean you can use any wood you really want to or you don’t have to use any at all like I said I’m

Just doing this because I only want one entrance to mine and mine is going to be right here alright so I put stairs on the outside of it this is how it’s gonna how you’re going to enter right here this is the entrance to the actual PvP arena on mine

Mine is closed up with glass if you want it to close it up with glass I suppose you could just kind of close it off just so you people can look in and then I have my mind I have entrances on the sides over here with iron doors and and

What do you call it um pressure plates that’s where you enter on in my arena I’m just doing this one a slightly different also for lighting I was using beacons which you could use glowstone or whatever else to have this many beacons would be ridiculous again this is

Something you would build in in what we call and creative if you wanted this many beacons unless you have unless you’re on PC and you are you have some kind of wither farm then more power to you like if you had a wither farm and like Sky factory or something but again

Those are mods so that’s not something you can do in vanilla minecraft and it kind of lights up the outside so we don’t have to worry about mobs on the outside and you can do the same thing over here just to give it light so mobs don’t spawn in these dark corridors

Alright so I go ahead and I found Center on all sides and I line mine originally with gold and then I changed it to clay because I thought gold was a little much yellow clay looks like Pino and I don’t like the way that looked so I really

Didn’t want P in my arena so I’m using gold or some of you guys call it butter whatever it’s it’s a it looks really cool compared to everything else like I said it looks really grand and I want it to look really grand I don’t want it to

Look hokey or cheesy and then we’re going to come off in the center here we’re going to one two three four and then we’re going to go one there one there I’m going to go one so we’re going to do this it’s going to be a total of

Seven from the center block seven by seven and and I think I have iron block here like so it just gives it like I said it gives it a stronger more grand appearance than just stone but again you guys can use whatever materials you want you don’t

Have to use these I’m just showing you guys what I like to use as far as that goes okay so here we’re going to be using the the half slabs on the bottom here and this is kind of like a spawning area so say you’re building this for PC

And you want to spawn in some crazy mobs this is where you would spawn them in and you’d come in and attack them or say you want to put put something here or you want to start at this point or whatever it may be this is just kind of

Like the center point that you can get stuck in that’s why I’m using the half slab so you can walk in and right back out of if you need to so I’m going to go ahead and grab our beacon again and we’re going to put beacons in the

Corners here if you want to put something underneath the beacon so you don’t have what do you call it dirt underneath it it does look better I suppose yeah so yeah that’s the that’s the battle arena portion of it guys I don’t know if I’m gonna have enough time

I think this video is running really long as it is even with the cuts and whatnot I don’t know if I’m going to have enough time to finish it I will show another picture of the completed arena right now with the bleachers and whatnot again the

Bleachers are just stairs and I kind of lined the front of the entire what he called the bleacher area with these and I built a wall on the outside and added more arches on a top level so I kind of I’ll kind of do like a basic something

Just so I can show you guys what I did as far as that goes I just basically made these walls even taller and actually brought them in one level on the outside here and like this the reason for it is on the outside here I made more arches to kind of mimic the

Ones underneath they’re not as tall but they still they’re still roughly the same size as far as being an arch and whatnot width wise so there we go so I kind of made I kind of did this I’ll just make this one side really quick just so you guys

Have an idea of what it looks like when it’s all done you’re going to make basically make a set of steps that it’s going to be one two three four five high so I’m going to do one two three four and five them I put one more bleacher

There and this wall in the back over here is going to be one two three four five six seven tall and basically it’s going to go the same height over here on the outside again it’s going to do the same exact thing that we did on the

Bottom except the arches will be not as grand so we’ll still do the whole jogging thing with a arches like so and we’ll still build them out like we did downstairs on the bottom half just so their arches but these are just decorative arches again they’re just so

So you can see them from the outside to kind of repeat what’s on the bottom there and you can put torches in here or glowstone or whatever else you want to put in there of how you could decorate it so I’m going to put stairs going all

The way across over here and the stairs will kind of repeat and they’ll kind of die down as the curve comes around so now I’m going to have bleachers kind of come all the way across over here like this I’ll finish up this set really quickly

Like so and then these are going to be the bleachers right here I mean if you did it to here there’d be no access behind the bleachers at all you would want to light up behind it so mobs don’t spawn back there that way you’re not

Going to get a creeper and a Skelly together and then BOOM when you have a rekt Colosseum you don’t want that so all your hard work would have gone to waste so there you go that’s that’s the gist of it dudes and then the other the other side will be right here that’s

Where those steps are going to end up and you can put glass up here if you really wanted to I’m not I’m going to put a stone like I have been for everything else and that way it’s just going to carry on all the way around
